NO BANNER YET, BE PATIENT x - - Welcome - - x -x- Welcome to PlumClan, a claim-a-cat roleplay centered around Clangen. This roleplay assumes you have some knowledge about how the game mechanics work and I'd recommend watching a playthrough on youtube if you haven't seen the game before. There's lots of amazing Clangen content creators out there!
In this roleplay, the players write short responses between the game's turns, creating a world and deep characters out of the simulation's random events. A moon passes twice a week, and the roleplay focuses on the life of the Clan as time passes. Can we lead PlumClan to success? Or will the Clan crumble under pressure?
x - - About - - x -x- PlumClan follows a group of cats using the simulation game Clangen. In this roleplay, you can claim a cat and write their perspective of the events that occur in the game! Be creative, give your characters personalities and history, make the random events in the game mean something through your replies.
PlumClan is a border Clan to YewClan, another rp on the forums. The layouts are mostly the same but different colors, yes. If you're coming from YewClan or are familiar with its mechanics, there will be a "what's different?" header on the mechanics page.
Otherwise, please do read in detail the mechanics of the roleplay before you join! This roleplay is different from a regular rp page, and I expect anyone applying to PlumClan to have read and understood the mechanics of the roleplay before they join. x - - Claiming - - x -x- Any cat marked as open in the directory can be claimed. If all cats are claimed, you may join the list below and will be notified as soon as a cat is available. (Please note that established players whose cats have died and have no cats remaining are prioritized over the new players list.)
A player may only claim one cat to start. After ten moons of activity, a player may claim another cat if available.
You may change a claimed cat's name if they have not been claimed/roleplayed before. Once changed, the name cannot be changed again. Cats that may have a name change will have a [*] before their name in the directory.
Please use this form to claim a cat:
Cat's name: Name change: Description: (personality + extra physical traits. A short paragraph only, please) - your user tag in plaintext
x - - Rules - - x -x- Follow all forum rules. -x- LGBT+ friendly; in the game, cats flirt regardless of gender and different gender identities are commonplace. There's no homophobia or transphobia in PlumClan and it won't be tolerated OOC either. -x- Keep OOC distinct from rp responses, either in a post layout or in () []. Please make it clear when speaking OOC. -x- Activity. You are expected to, at minimum, make a prompt for any major moon events your character is a part of. This means a 4-8 sentence description every three days. More activity is better, of course, and you are encouraged to respond to others' prompts and relationship pips, but the only required responses are for moon events. -x- There are no rules on post length, but please run your replies through a spell checker. I encourage all members to explore the depth of their character in their replies. -x- No god-modding or controlling other players' characters. Stick to what your cat does, says, and feels. In some cases, you can use the Moon Summaries to generalize other characters' implied actions, but try not to be too specific. -x- No excessive descriptions of gore, foul language or death. This is about battle cats, so fighting and death will happen. It'll be up to you to draw the line on what is too much, but try to ensure that it doesn't make others uncomfortable. -x- Pregnancies and kits will happen more often than usual, as the game moves more quickly than a traditional roleplay. Use the skip button on kitting scenes, please, and only describe what happens after.
x - - Warning - - x -x- No character has plot armor! You are following this cat through a game of Clangen and random events WILL occur. Your cat may die without warning on patrol, catch greencough, or become permanently injured. By joining this roleplay, you are accepting that your claimed cat may come across hardships or die during the course of the game. The moons march ever onwards.
Please copy or type this when you claim your first cat: (Note: your joining form will be denied if you do not copy the disclaimer!)
I understand that my cats will eventually die during the course of the game. I understand that while I may influence my character's actions and relationships, the game's random events will ultimately decide my cat's fate.

x - - Prompts - - x -x- Every MONDAY and THURSDAY the game will progress one moon. On these days, you will receive an Event Summary of your cat(s) actions during that moon.
Now's the fun part! Crafting prompts or responses based on the moon's events! A prompt is basically a roleplay starter and can be used to describe any event in more detail: what is happening? What does your cat do or think? Who do they turn to? Use these to set the scene and further describe and expand upon an event that occurred in the Summary.
Responses are replies to other cats' prompts regarding your character: how does your cat react? What do they do or think? How does that change their relationship with those around them? You can (and should!) chain responses with other players in a more traditional back-and-forth roleplay.
---
What can you respond to? There are four types of events you can reply to each moon: thoughts, major events, patrol events, and relationship pips.
Every moon, your cat has a thought. These aren't always very important, but they are often based on your cat's personality trait and can direct and inspire your major responses. A cat's thought is in italics beside their image in the moon summary.
Major events, also known as Moon events, are things that happen at the start of the turn. Often these events have a large impact on a cat or the entire Clan. If your cat is directly involved in a major event, you are expected to address it that moon. These are found in the "Major events" box of your moon summary.
If your cat is healthy, they will also go on a patrol every moon. The details of how that patrol went will be in your cat's Summary. Again, if your cat is the main character of a patrol, you should probably write about how they got into that situation and how they feel!
Relationship pips are small interactions that happen between cats: arguments, conversations, or shared meals. These are the foundation of relationship building and are a good opportunity to interact with another player's prompt in the form of a response.
x - - Patrols - - x -x- Every moon, cats go on patrol. I will, by default, assign the healer [+1 random] for a herb patrol, [+3 random] for border, and the remainder for hunting. Mentor-apprentice duos will go on a training patrol every other moon; they will always be paired on patrols if both mentor and apprentice are healthy.
I decide whether the patrol with proceed, not proceed, or antagonize. I do this by weighing each cat's personality traits, as well as incorporating how you roleplayed their character's choices in similar situations.
NOTE: [antagonize] isn't always a bad thing; there are several events in which [proceed] and [do not proceed] both result in deaths, where [antagonize] is the "correct" option (usually in the case of rogue ambushes). All values can be valuable in different scenarios and having a balanced party will result in the most successes.
Before the moon change, players may discuss which cats go on which patrol. If patrols are assigned, they will proceed in that order on the next moon and will not follow the random default. I encourage players to decide patrols outside of roleplay before each moon, in order to minimize risk and optimize training and hunting.
x - - Pips - - x Relationship pips are gained and lost by: - Relationship events each turn. - Patrolling with another cat (smaller patrol = bigger relationship changes)
Your cats can gain (or lose) relationship points in these categories: Romantic like Platonic like Dislike Respect Comfort Jealousy Trust
Each cat has a value in each of these categories for every other member of the Clan. Every ten moons, I will give you a more detailed breakdown of your cat's relationships with the rest of the Clan.
Patrols and interactions can also change your cat's skills and traits! These allow your cat to grow and thrive. x - - Toggles - - x -x- At any time, you can toggle these two settings: Prevent Kits and Limit Romance.
The Prevent Kits toggle is easy: when it is on, your cat cannot have or adopt kits. Use this toggle if you do not want your cat to be a parent. You can toggle this on and off any time.
The Limit Romance toggle allows you to basically freeze your cat's romantic state. When this is on, your cat will no longer flirt with other cats and cannot accept mate requests from other cats. They also cannot break up with their current mate if they have one. x - - Meta - - x These are the rules in Clangen that are toggled.
-x- Mass extinction is OFF - Once the Clan has 20 cats, there will be a vote to turn this on. -x- Cats CAN have kits with cats that are not their mates. -x- Same-sex kits are OFF - But increased same-sex adoption is ON -x- Unknown second parent is currently ON! - This setting will be toggled on and off for maximum drama. -x- Romantic interaction with former mentors is OFF -x- First cousin romances is also OFF -x- Leaders will automatically choose a deputy! -x- Apprentices will graduate when they gain enough experience. -x- Cats can retire from permanent conditions (such as chronic illness or injury) -x- Warriors and elders can choose to become mediators.
-x- Can the game be rolled back if: ...? - Murder: Yes. First, this should be extremely unlikely because I'll be monitoring relationship bars and manually editing them if it goes too far. Unless both players agree to the feud and accept that a murder might occur, I will always keep dislike and jealousy <50%. (It is possible, if rare, that a cat with mild or no dislike can commit murder. If this happens, we'll talk and most likely roll it back unless both players like the drama of it.) - Mates/breakups: Very Rarely. You can control relationship progress with toggles. If you want your cat to stop flirting, toggle limit romance until they cool down. - Identity changes: Sometimes. I do encourage you to roll with all the curveballs the game throws, but sometimes it is simply random. If you really feel that a change of identity--either of trait, gender, or skill--counteracts everything your character arc has been building towards, then I will revert it. - Parenting: Never. You have complete control over whether or not your cat can have kits with the toggles. - Death: Never. Unfortunately, it's part of the game. All cats will eventually die, even if it's simply from old age. The simulation moves fast, and it's up to us to make these cats find a lasting legacy with the time they have.
NOTE for mobile users: the information on the extended allegiances and moon Event Summaries are cut off if you view in portrait/vertical, but are visible in landscape/horizontal orientation. Please allow screen rotation and flip sideways to view these screens (or use the desktop version on your mobile device).

x - - PlumClan - - x -x- Welcome to PlumClan: the Mellow and Kind. PlumClan lives beside a human orchard, and their proximity to the twolegs shapes many aspects of their Clan.
First, PlumClan is more open-minded towards loners and kittypets than the other Clans, often taking in outsiders in need and allowing their own Clanmates to leave the Clan if they want to follow a different path in life. While the other Clans might think PlumClan weak for accepting outsiders and half-Clan kits into their Clan, PlumClan knows their diversity is their strength.
PlumClan values kindness and forgiveness. They believe that any cat can make themselves better, and that punishments should only be used to give a cat an opportunity to learn the right thing, not simply to discourage bad behavior.
Because they have such a diverse background, PlumClan's cats have a wide variety of pelt colors and patterns as well as body shapes. Their territory rewards this diversity too: lithe, fast cats can chase rabbits by the lawns and gardens of the farmhouse; cats with strong legs can leap after birds and squirrels in the plum trees; cats that can fish can hunt in the stream that separates PlumClan from BurdockClan; and cats that are better at stalking always can find mice in the corn fields. x - - Land- - x -x- PlumClan lives on the edges of twoleg orchard. While their camp is securely within an untamed grotto far away from the farming equipment, their cats often hunt within the orchards and fields. They have a truce with the twolegs, who seem to appreciate the Clan's services in clearing their fields of pests.
Landmarks - Rushing Creek forms the border between PlumClan and BurdockClan. The water is shallow, but cold and fast, originating in the mountains north of YewClan's territory. The banks on PlumClan's side are muddy and slick in most places, but there are some steadier places to fish or swim. - The Ruined Wall forms their border with FlowerClan to the north. An old, crumbling stone wall lies across the entire length of the orchard. It's crumbling, but there's enough of it left to mark a border with the field-dwelling FlowerClan. - Green pond is an algae-covered body of water that Rushing Creek flows into. It is in the northwest corner of PlumClan territory and covers the majority of the border between PlumClan and YewClan. The ground around the pond is low and marshy. - The Plum Orchard is closest to PlumClan's camp, and how they got their name. The trees flower beautifully in the spring, but it can get noisy in early leaf-fall, when twolegs come in droves to harvest the fruit. - The Corn Field is to the far east of PlumClan's territory. There are plenty of mice here, but the ground is open and there are plenty of predators around too. - The Farmhouse lies in the southeatern corner of the territory. The Farmhouse is always crawling with twolegs, but a brave cat can be rewarded if they risk approaching, and the garden inside the Farmhouse's fence always attracts rabbits. - The Barn is outside of PlumClan's territory, across the road from the Farmhouse. A group of barn cats live here, but the two groups try to ignore each other and stay off the other's hunting grounds. The barn cats let PlumClan have the orchards while they hunt the fields; it's only in the corn fields on PlumClan's side of the road that the two groups sometimes run into each other.
x - - Camp - - x -x- PlumClan's camp is alongside their border with FlowerClan. Just inside the Ruined Wall, a crumbling cabin made of similar cobbled stones has been left to the wilderness, and is now covered entirely in moss and ivy. It isn't big, but there's plenty of space for all of PlumClan's dens. About three quarters of the cabin--the bedroom and half of the main space--is roofed, but an open space in front of the doorway is open to the elements. x - - Borders - - x -x- BurdockClan: the Careful and Deliberate -- Neutral -x- YewClan: the Patient and Hardy -- Allies -x- FlowerClan: the Clever and Just -- Friendly
BurdockClan to the west is across the Rushing Creek from PlumClan. BurdockClan's territory is largely fallow farm fields interspersed with some creeks and deciduous forest. They often sneak over Rushing Creek and steal PlumClan's prey, though so far it hasn't come to war.
PlumClan is kitty-corner to YewClan to the northwest. YewClan's territory is true forest: deciduous below the ridge, and mostly coniferous in the north above the ridge. They are old allies of PlumClan.
FlowerClan is to the north of PlumClan, on the other side of the Ruined Wall. They live in hilly plainland. PlumClan must be careful to keep FlowerClan friendly, as their camp's proximity to the FlowerClan border would be dangerous if FlowerClan attempted a raid. x - - Traditions - - x -x- None yet, you'll come up with these~

x - - Leader - - x Fawnstar Lives: 9 || LEADER || female; she/her || eye: pale blue || pelt: long, tortie, bengal || Feathertalon Wise Very Clever Good Climber
Description Hues of leaf-fall orange paint the long fur of this dappled molly. A majority of her pelt is burnt ginger with paler creams snaking its way along her chin, throat, underbelly, and underneath her tail. Upon first glance most would just see her as a solid ginger cat with thick rosettes painting her pelt, but a second glance would reveal the charcoal gray that creeps up along her left paw, faint speckles dappling her shoulder as well. Pale blue eyes complete her leaf-fall appearance, a gaze as clear as the crisp season itself. A good head rests upon the shoulders of this feline. For her leadership was granted due to her skill of the mind rather than her skill of the claws. Quick witted and full of wisdom, some of her Clanmates have teasingly referred to her as 'Owl' rather than 'Fawn', which only causes her to smile in laughter. She is nimble as well. Finding her up in a tree is not uncommon - all the more reason for her Clanmates giving her Owl as a nickname.
Apprentice: Sandpaw x - - Deputy - - x Duskfeather DEPUTY || male, he/him || eye: pale blue || pelt: medium, black, mackerel tabby || chocolatemilk7 Lonesome good fighter great climber Description Duskfeather is a black mackerel tabby tom with medium length fur. He is a lean, muscular cat and has striking, sky-blue eyes. He is quiet and keeps to himself, but is fiercely loyal to the clan. Duskfeather is organized and keeps the clan going, making sure everyone is doing patrols and so on. He is adept is fighting, but thinks that it isn’t necessary in life. Still, he won’t hesitate to attack any cat who threatens him or his clan mates. In his free time, he likes exploring the territory and watching the calming scenery. x - - Healers - - x Amberdapple HEALER || female, she/her || eye: gold || pelt: short, tortie, rosetted || stormshade1 Wise eloquent speaker Description A beautiful tortoiseshell molly. Amberdapple is a kind healer, with swirled patches of autumn-red on her dark gray fur, and piercing golden eyes. She is upbeat and wise, always cheerfully optimistic. She was the daughter of Oakpelt, her father, who died in a tragic accident with foxes, and the sister of Fawnstar. She is very trusting, almost too trusting, and she is ready to help anybody, even a cat from another Clan. She takes the code very seriously, but love is another thing. x - - Warriors - - x Willowmouse SENIOR WARRIOR || female, she/her || eye: pale yellow || pelt: long, chocolate, smoke || jaybun! Gloomy fast as the wind Description Willow is an older long-furred brown and white tabby molly. Her years of experience have jaded her, and she always has a bleak comment to lower the mood of anyone feeling a little too good. Despite that, you'll find no other Plumclan warrior as loyal as she, and if you call, she'll be there! Rindlestripe WARRIOR || male, they/them || eye: sunlit ice || pelt: long, chocolate, masked || lazzylake Lonesome great climber Description Rindlestripe is a warrior with long silky fur. Their pelt is a combination of white with and patches of brown broken by dark tabby stripes on their back and tail. A lighter, creamy shade of brown caps the upper half of their tail, ears and chin. The most striking feature of this feline is a mask-like pattern that surrounds their bright, sunlit ice colored eyes. They are considered a reclusive cat by most, often fading into the background. Rindlestripe is a cat of few interests, only offering advice or blunt criticism when needed, and is therefore viewed as a bit standoffish. However, most of the clan marvels at their ability to reach the highest tree summits without fumbling. Rindlestripe feels safest among the trees that surround PlumClan territory without anyone to pester them.
Apprentice: Fogpaw
Cloverfur WARRIOR || male, he/him || eye: gold || pelt: short, grey, singlestripe || dewbranch Charismatic good mediator formidable fighter Description Cloverfur is a mostly smoke-grey tom with a single darker grey stripe along his back. He has gold eyes. Cloverfur is Charismatic, in a way that he tries to charm his way in and out of any situation. Alongside this, he is also a good mediator, which originated from his mother when she tried to solve every fight with her words. Another hard-earned skill that Cloverfur has obtained is that he is a formidable fighter. This skill came from moons of training and practicing even as a warrior, to keep his skills sharp in case of attack. Sandpaw* WARRIOR || female, she/her || eye: amber || pelt: long, cream, sokoke || duskflight Righteous masterful storyteller good hunter Description Leopardpaw is a feisty she-cat, but once you get to know her she is kind and sensitive. She is overprotective over her friends, ambitious and a great fighter.

x - - Apprentices - - x Fogpaw APPRENTICE || male, he/him || eye: yellow-green || pelt: short, grey, ticked || Brownie Childish quick to help Description Fogpaw is a grey ticked tabby tom with yellow-green eyes. He's rather short, even for his age, and has a petty rivalry with the older Sandpaw because of it; he likes to think it's only because of her extra height and bulk that she can best him in training. Fogpaw is hyper-empathetic and can't help putting himself in other cat's paws. He feels obligated to help if there's any way he could possibly do so, often stretching himself thin trying to fix every cat's problems. Fogpaw doesn't understand why everyone can't just be friends and is a loud advocate for pacifism and working together with the other Clans--and even the Barn cats.
Mentor: Rindlestripe Goldpaw APPRENTICE || male, he/him || eye: hazel || pelt: long, cream, smoke || stonekeeper Charismatic Restless sleeper Quick to help Description Goldpaw is a cream colored cat with long fur and hazel eyes. Goldpaw’s personality is that he is a cheerful and curious tom who is not afraid to explore the world around him. This part of his personality allows him to learn more easily. His curiosity and his fearlessness can also; however, cause him to get into trouble more often since he tends not to think about the consequences of his actions until it’s too late. Goldpaw is also a restless sleeper due to his energetic nature. x - - Kits - - x Dustkit KIT || female, she/her || eye: gray || pelt: medium, grey, sokoke || MistyPath Self-conscious quick witted Description Shy, lonesome, plays with mossballs and energetic.
Abandoned on a road, no memory of what happened before. She sometimes has vivid flashbacks of a life she never lived, with people she didn't know. She was found by a patrol right before a monster smashed her rescuer into bits. [traumatizing moment] She was then brought into camp and everyone blamed her for her rescuer's death, except for one queen who took him in as an adopted kit. Dustkit cant remember any of that though and thinks the queen who adopted her is her biological mother, yet she is still traumatized by monsters even though she doesn't know why Beetlekit KIT || male, he/him || eye: sunlit ice || pelt: long, chocolate, bengal || @open Bullying constantly climbing Hatchkit KIT || male, he/him || eye: sunlit ice || pelt: long, gold, speckled || @open Shy constantly climbing Shinekit KIT || male, he/him || eye: sunlit ice || pelt: long, white/chocolate, marbled || @open Skittish constantly climbing Daisykit KIT || female, she/her || eye: sunlit ice || pelt: long, golden, speckled || @open Know it all constantly climbing

okay, good to go. The joining page will be up after the cats are rolled, edited, and posted.
If you're eagerly waiting to join, here's PlumClan's territory details + about page to get you started. I also did minor clean ups and edits to the mechanics page that are different from YewClan's information (I'll probably be moving these edits over soon) and there are some changes to the rules and expectations for this Clan that are NOT the same as YewClan's; if you're coming from over there, you might want to check those things out so everyone is on the same page~

Okay! Now that this is open, here's the timeline:
Everyone that wants to join can claim ONE cat to start (YewClan peeps, maybe wait until Saturday to let new people get first choice?)
if there are still cats open by TUESDAY, everyone that's claimed one cat can then claim another
our first moon starts on THURSDAY. We'll be starting in early greenleaf, to line up with YewClan's timeline.
For now, feel free to chat and plan characters on the discussion thread! This is a great time to figure out who has history with who, or friendships and rivalries within the Clan. I'd like to keep this thread to roleplay and announcements only. If you'd like to bookmark this thread, it'll only show when there's been a new rp post to read or important announcements ]]

Quick announcement to keep yall in the loop!
The first moon for PlumClan will be released on THURSDAY MORNING (probably around 10-11am EST) and we'll be linked up to YewClan's clock, meaning that the next moon will be on the following MONDAY. Most of yall know the drill: you have those four days to get your replies in before the following moon. There can be a little overlap to finish replies if you really need it, but do try and stay within moon deadlines~
Please try and post a prompt for the first moon! If you know you will not get a reply in, please let me know as soon as you know so we can plan around that! Let's give all these new characters a great start! ]]

Cloverfur - Border patrol with Duskfeather and Willowmouse
Cloverfur felt honoured to be able to hunt with the deputy, Duskfeather, as well as the older warrior Willowmouse. He had to do really well on this patrol, and maybe Duskfeather would put in the word for him to get an apprentice! There were two kits in the nursery at the moment, and Cloverfur was eager to be able to train one of them. Training an apprentice was a great honor, and it showed that the clan leader believed you are trustworthy and strong enough to train a younger cat, both physically and mentally.
The trio had left camp not long ago, so far padding along in silence. They needed to be as quiet as they could be if they wanted to catch prey. It can't be that hard though, in greenleaf! The sunny season had just started, and all the prey were emerging from their dens after hiding away all leafbare. They prey had started to pick up during newleaf, but hunting was the best in greenleaf, when the prey was plump and easy to catch.
A sudden screech brought Cloverfur to unsheathe his claw and spike up his fur. It sounded like a cat, and they had just scared all the prey away! The patrol rushed forward, stopping at the Flowerclan border. On the other side was a Flowerclan cat stuck in a trap. The cat seemed to be stuck in a trap- and alone. "We need to help them!" Cloverfur said, turning to look at his clanmates. He didn't want to rush over the border without getting premission from Duskfeather first, but if the clan deputy said no... I would still go over there.

Fawnstar »
craving the taste of bird, takes leopardpaw out on failed hunting lesson - duskflight
It had been many seasons since Fawnstar had trained an apprentice. She remembered how proud she had been when the leader before her granted her with a ‘paw of her own, a young cat to nurture and guide as they matured into a warrior the Clan would be proud of. Every day she had given all her attention and focus to her apprentice, truly enjoying the mentoring process and passing down all the knowledge she had learned from her own mentor. Being a mentor had been the best part of her days as a warrior, yet she had only been able to mentor an apprentice once before the duties of deputy had been gifted to her. Then she became leader, and while coming into her own and settling into the role of leader, she had realized that she could relive the joy of mentoring an apprentice all over again. She could so easily give herself an apprentice to train, yet she had refrained from doing as much. With each litter of kits that graduated into apprenticeship she had gifted a younger warrior the chance of being a mentor, hoping that they too would experience the joy she had when training her young ‘paw. Fawnstar had told herself to allow others the chance, that she had already been given hers, and she had silently lived with that rule for some time.
But then Leopardpaw had been welcomed into the Clan and soon came the time of her apprentice ceremony.
The urge to train the next generation of warriors had been too much, and as Fawnstar made the young molly an apprentice, she couldn’t help but take up the position of mentor once more. It was a selfish decision, she knew as much, but there had been something about the cream pelted apprentice that drew Fawnstar to her. Fawnstar believed in the skills of all her warriors, but something in the back of her mind told her that only she could be the one to truly shape Leopardpaw into a loyal PlumClan warrior.
Eager to begin the day’s training, Fawnstar had woken her apprentice up well before dawn. Deciding she wanted to assess her apprentice’s skills on bird hunting - partly inspired by the insatiable craving of bird that lay upon Fawnstar’s tongue - the mostly golden colored tortoiseshell made her way to Plum Orchard; the two arrived just as the sun began to rise, and with the breaking of dawn came the songs of newly bloomed greenleaf and plump birds.
Fawnstar fidgeted with excitement as she gazed down at Leopardpaw. ”Have I told you that you can distinguish which bird is what based on their songs alone? You don’t even have to look at it to know what bird it is.” Passing down knowledge and hard earned trivia always filled Fawnstar with joy, always put her in a giddy mood. Learning was or of the most important things an apprentice, and even a warrior, could do. ”If you listen closely, you can tell that there’s a cardinal chirping to the left of us, and up ahead in the orchard trees there’s a catbird calling out. Do you know why they’re called catbirds?” The leader asked with excitement sparking her blue gaze - perhaps she was getting a little carried away with this lesson, but Fawnstar couldn’t help herself. Passing down what she knew was the best part of being a mentor, and she wanted Leopardpaw to learn everything that there was about the world around them.

[ i know dusk isn't claimed yet and this post is just filler, but i wanted to just write something up; kinda play around with the leader-deputy making patrols/training pairs for later moons mechanic a little ] Fawnstar »
with duskfeather - @ -
The sky danced with hues of dark blue, deep purple, and fading orange. Dusk was creeping upon the land with dark fingers, dragging the sun below the treeline to where the earth would absorb it, devouring it until spitting it back up just in time for dawn. The humid air of greenleaf was thinning as cooler breezes swept across the land, creating a gentle atmosphere for even the thickest pelted warriors. PlumClan was settling down for the day, lounging about and sharing tongues as Clanmates shared stories of their day and prepared themselves for a much needed rest. The sight of her Clan so at ease with one another, so at peace with the world, brought a smile to Fawnstar's face. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have such a wonderful Clan at her side, and luckier yet to be the cat that called herself leader of this Clan.
The tortoiseshell molly breathed in the flower scented air as she tilted her head upward, watching as the sky shifted colors from brilliant light to secure dark. Through the canopy of trees the leader could just make out the first glittering of silverpelt as stars blinked to life. Contentment poured over her. She hoped her ancestors were watching her. She hoped they were proud of her and granted her a leadership worthy of preserving in PlumClan's history.
Watching as dusk fell upon the land sparked a thought in the back of Fawnstar's mind. Her eyes shifted, scanning the camp. Watching nightfall was a peaceful moment, but thinking about it now, there was another dusk that she wanted to get her eyes on.
It took only a moment for the leader's pale gaze to find itself landing on the familiar sight of the cat she was looking for.
Pushing herself to her paws, the tortoiseshell leader made her way to where her deputy Duskfeather was sitting, the gray tabby deputy enjoying the end of the day just as the rest of the Clan was. She dipped her head in greeting before leaning forward to press her nose against his cheek, a friendly gesture between her and the cat she trusted to be her second in command. "I hope your day was well," she mewed to her deputy before pulling away from him and taking a seat nearby, her tail wrapping neatly around her paws. Whenever possible Fawnstar liked to report in with her deputy at the end of the day. Their paths may not always cross during patrols and hunting, and messages could be missed because of that, which was why Fawnstar made it a habit to speak with Duskfeather before they both retired to their own dens for the night.
This habit of checking in came naturally to Fawnstar, yet this time she had an addition to this evening ritual, something more that she wanted from the deputy. Her training with Leopardpaw had been going well - she disregarded the botched attempt at hunting the day before - and as her apprentice became more and more familiar with hunting, Fawnstar wanted to make sure the young molly's skills for fighting weren't being neglected. "Whenever you have the chance to spare either yourself or Cloverfur from a patrol, I'd like one of you to join me and Leopardpaw for training one day. I want her to learn some battle moves from fighters that are better at battle than I am." Fawnstar herself wasn't a bad fighter, but she knew there were warriors better at it than she was - Duskfeather was an experienced fighter himself, with sharp claws and fluid movements that kept any enemy guessing his next move; Cloverfur was a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Power rippled in every blow he struck, and his knack for knowing which move would work the best was astounding. Fawnstar could only hope to be as skilled in battle as he was one day.
It was because of these reasons and more that Fawnstar wanted her deputy to spare either himself or Cloverfur at some point. She wanted only the best for Leopardpaw and her training. As a mentor it was important to understand that she couldn't give her apprentice the best training in every skill a warrior should master, so in the skills she lacked in, she wanted to find the right cat to fill in those gaps to make Leopardpaw the best warrior she could be.

WILLOWMOUSE - Border patrol with Duskfeather & Cloverfur Willowmouse didn't hate. That would require too much energy. Instead, she grumbled. Cloverfur was the picture-perfect young eager warrior, and while she may have found it charming about forty moons ago- it was making the long summer day drag on just a bit longer. Stars, didn't it get tiring? It wasn't as if any of this really mattered in the end. They all went to Starclan regardless. Some of them earlier than others. The deputy at the very least, was sticking to himself. That Willowmouse could appreciate. She felt a kindred spirit in Duskfeather, who seemed to appreciate the value of simply getting the work done and moving on; without all the exhausting frills and sycophantic simpering. We have to help them! Cloverfur's worried voice brought her out of her brooding. The older molly blinked, only now registering the low pained wails drifting across Flowerclan's border. She grimaced at the sight of the foreign warrior, noting the less than ideal amount of blood seeping from the Two-leg contraption wrapped around the other's leg. Willowmouse sighed heavily, glancing at the over-eager face of Cloverfur beside her. She'd never hear the end of it if they just left it be.

Cloverfur - Border Patrol with Duskfeather and Willowmouse
The seconds seemed to go by as minutes, the minutes seemed to go by as years. Couldn't they make up their mind? For Cloverfur, it was simple, they were to go over the border and free the cat. But he couldn't go over without the permission of the rest of the cats on his patrol, and he still hadn't gotten an answer.
The cat was still screeching, screaming its head off. Cloverfur was surprised that no Flowerclan cats hadn't found their injured clanmate, by all the noise they were making!
Finally, finally, Duskfeather spoke up. "I suppose," along with what Cloverfur interpreted as a nod from Willowmouse sent him running across the border, jumping over what was left of The Ruined Wall. "Stay still," Cloverfur said, circling the Flowerclan cat. He turned to look at his patrolmates again, a question in his gaze. "How will we go about freeing them?" He asked, studying the trap again. It seemed to have closed around the cats front paw, leaving it bleeding and mangled.

Rindlestripe
Almost got turned around at the Corn Field
Rindlestripe glanced upwards as they trotted patiently among the fields. The corn meadows acted as a location of mediation for the warrior, where the tall stalks camouflaged with their striped pelt and shielded them from intruders. Field mice nibbled at kernels that fell onto the grass, and a gentle breeze cradled the boughs of corn. Prey scent wafted in the air, enticing Rindlestripe to catch a few rodents. But they weren't here to hunt.
Suddenly Rindlestripe broke into a modest sprint. Giant stems brushed against their flanks and dried grass crackled against their paws. This sort of free-sprited energy only came out when Rindlestripe was alone. Moons of hardened training transformed the once over zealous apprentice into a no nonsense, stern defender of PlumClan. To their clanmates, Rindlestripe was reclusive and disgruntled. That was a persona no cat would break.
The adrenaline wore off and the warrior slowed to a stop. Rindlestripe opened their jaws to taste the air, only to realize the wind had carried of their scent trail completley. "Mouse-brain!" , came a hiss from the masked tabby. This is what happened when they had no discipline. Now a fox or snake would kill them for being so foolish. Awkwardly, Rindlestipe attempted to retrace their pawsteps. The stalks they brushed against still retained fresh scent, so the trail was easy to follow. They crept warily this time, growling when a wrong step snapped a stray twig. Ultimately relief swamped the warrior when they saw the exit, crawled out, and rushed straight towards camp.
If their clanmates, or StarClan forbid, apprentice, saw this ordeal, Rindlestripe would be more than a little chagrined.

Goldkit- Doesn’t want to grow up…
It was a quiet afternoon in the camp. Goldkit walked out of the nursery and took a quick look around. He spotted a moss ball and then quickly started playing with it, batting at it with his paws and then chasing after it wherever it goes. After a moment of playing with the mossball, he stopped to look at some of his clanmates. Some of them are so tall! He wonders if one day he’ll grow up to be as tall as them too. A part of him looked forward to one day becoming an apprentice, becoming able to leave camp and getting to see what the territory outside of the camp looked like. That sounds like it would be quite the adventure for Goldkit! Not to mention all of the new things he’ll be getting to learn from his mentor once he’s an apprentice such as learning how to hunt and fight. A part of him; however, is also not looking forward to having to grow up. To Goldkit, growing up meant that he wouldn’t be able to play games and explore in camp as much anymore. Not to mention all of the responsibilities that he’ll have to worry about once he’s an apprentice and then eventually, a warrior as well.
