Dappleswipe Relatironship pip: "Thinks Mistlepaw is super helpful!"
Dappleswipe heaved with effort as she attempted to shove a clump of dried grass to repair the clan walls. She was prepared to start weaving the strands together when an amazed voice distracted her. Shaking away the scraps of bracken that clung to her pelt, she turned to see Mistlepaw praising her. The pale gray and white apprentice was staring at her with eyes as big as moons, and the tortoiseshell deputy felt mildly flattered to have someone who admired her crafsmanship. "Why thank you, Mistlepaw." Dappleswipe responded with a warm purr, then tilted her head. "But you've been working just as hard even as an apprentice. You've been a fast learner and listener in the patrols I've assigned you, and your loyalty never wavers. You're a great addition to the clan. I know you and your mentor have had some differences lately, but I have no doubts that Spottedfur will make you a warrior soon."
tags: Sapphirejasooc: (Edited to change up formatting! I think I'm happy with it now. I'll write up a starter for the patrol tomorrow, but I might have to prioritize which one I do first depending on next moon's circumstances)

ooc;; been thinking of messing with fancies a while now, i really should just buckle down and learn some basic html 🤔 BUBBLINGSTAR - Border Patrol with Slatepaw, Heavy, Scarletdrift, & Thrushpaw It was a breath fresh air, figuratively and literally, to be out in Yewclan's territory. Early greenleaf was one of Bubblingstar's favorite seasons. The sun beat away newleaf's lingering chill, without being so hot as to make leaving the shadows miserable. Prey and cats alike began to thrive once again, springing up not unlike the slowly unfurling undergrowth around them. It was hard not to be in a good mood on days like these; especially with the added benefit of fresh company. Scarletdrift had thankfully healed, and the two apprentices brought an undercurrent of pep much needed after the long, bitingly cold nights of leafbare. Bubblingstar may have had his biases (the bouncy young cat leading the patrol came to mind), but he was rather proud of Heavy in particular. Not only had she managed to survive such a grievous injury and raise a litter at the same time; the molly was turning out to be a wonderful warrior! Guilt tickles at his musings, vividly remembering every negative interaction and feeling he'd held toward Heavy. He'd been so harsh on her- and he's still not entirely sure why. Recent losses or no, the fact Bubblingstar had acted so callously toward a nearly maimed cat haunted him. It was one reason he'd doted so hard on Slatepaw; somewhat childishly hoping the care he showed toward Heav's daughter would transfer over. He really should just do the adult thing and speak with her honestly... In a sick sense of deja vu, Bubblingstar paused at the chilling screech that echoed through the forest. The pitch and rawness reminding him of the few short minutes before they'd found Heavy; curled in a gnarled lump. " Cat or not, we should check! Don’t you think, Bubblingstar?" Slatepaw's energetic mew was at total odds with her mother's tense frame. For a moment he was torn, glancing between the two she-cat's for moment; before he shook his head and steadied himself with a breath. They had a good group in the way of numbers, and he trusted Scarletdrift's skill in combat more than his own. " We should check it out, just in case. But," Bubblingstar turned a stern look on Thrushpaw and Slatepaw, " if it's not a cat, you two run back to camp the second we say so."

Scarletdrift Patrol with Bubblingstar, Heavy, Slatepaw, and Thushpaw | jaybun!. Feathertalon. Nettle
Scarletdrift led his apprentice out of camp, following the other cats in the patrol. It was a nice day out, the and the breeze felt good on his fur. Everything seemed good. A little too good, if you asked him. Thushpaw was doing good in his apprenticeship, and no more sickness had plagued the clan after yellowcough.
He followed Bubblingstar closer to the clan border, pointing out little things to Thushpaw on the way. Some herbs that he knew of, good hunting spots, ect. Really, he wished he could do more, but this was a border patrol, not a training one. Suddenly, a loud screech hit the air, making Scarletdrift wince. What was that? He pricked his ears, trying to see if anything else came from that direction. "Cat or not, we should check! Don’t you think, Bubblingstar?" Slatepaw said, bouncing over to her mentor. "We should check it out, just in case. But, if it's not a cat, you two run back to camp the second we say so." Scarletdrift nodded, keeping pace with Bubblingstar as they ran to the thunderpath. He hadn't even shown Thrushpaw the thunderpath yet. The black path was buzzing with monsters today, all of them going fast and making so much noise. At first, he couldn't see or smell what had made the sound. Then, when he turned his head to the side, he saw the body of a kittypet, its mouth letting out its last screech of angony. Scarletdrift Swapping stories with Dappleswipe | lazzylake
Scarletdrft settle down into camp, tired after a long day. The sunlight warmed him, and he closed his eyes for a moment before he noticed that Dappleswipe had settled down next to him. Him and the black and red she-cat had gotten along better these past few moons, and he enjoyed her company. When he opened his eyes, he saw that she was watching the apprentice play moss ball, throwing it form cat to cat, giggling when it rolled away from them.
"You must remember playing moss ball. I do. When I was an apprentice, me and the other apprentices at the time loved playing moss ball. I think Spottedfur was actually an apprentice then too. We played all sorts of games, moss ball, clan, we play fought. I never was leader though. I was always the strong deputy, keeping everyone in line." Scarletdrift sighed, remembering his youth. The story was a short - yet funny tale, and the picture in his mind of that, well you can imagine. Most of the apprentices his age always dreamed of being leader of Yewclan, and it was sad, that not many of them were alive today.
"What about you? Any stories to share?"

Dappleswipe Relationship pip: "Sharing stories with Scarletdrift"
After being hard at work from rebuilding the tight thicket barriers, Dappleswipe looked for a place to rest. She walked up to the smooth stones at the edge of camp and noticed Scarletdrift sunbathing. The deputy flicked her tail in a friendly greeting to the tom and hunkered down besides him. From their level ground, she saw a cluster of apprentices chasing the moss ball back and forth across camp. A classic game, but a fun one. She turned to Scarletdrift as he droned on, and a content purr escaped her as she reminisced her kithood. "Believe it or not, I was quite the fighter when I was young, so I always wanted to be someone from an enemy patrol. I remember there being a dense patch of shrubs near the nursery, and it was my favorite place to plan a rouge ambush when we played clan."The shining light in the tortoiseshell's eyes faded into something more melancholic. The last deputy, Frostfleck, was ambushed by rouges. The blow was hard for YewClan, but especially for Dappleswipe. The ginger she-cat was her mentor. Perhaps Scarletdrift would empathize if she asked questions about her. He was Frostfleck's father, after all. "Well, being the strong deputy isn't all it's cracked up to be." She paused for a second. When Dappleswipe spoke again, their words were slow. "Scarletdrift, do you have any stories to share about Frostfleck? I... I want to make sure I'm doing a well enough job in her absence." tags: Dew ooc: (WOW. This one got long. Oh boy I'm gonna have to copy and paste this formatting into a document whee! I'll get a starter open on the border patrol later. Also moon day, I think! Yay!!)

Slatepaw »
border patrol with bubblingstar - jaybun! scarletdrift - Dew thrushpaw - Nettle & heavy
For all her respect and admiration toward her mentor, a scathing retort was poised on the tip of Slatepaw's tongue on the off chance that Bubblingstar decided to not investigate the noise. What if there was some cat out there in pain, crying for help? How could a patrol live with themselves knowing that they let a cat suffer when they could have done something for them? They had found Heavy in horrible condition and had taken pity on her all those seasons ago - why not do the same here? And if it wasn't a cat then the patrol would be able to assess the problem and figure out a plan to stop whatever creature had wandered onto their territory. Slatepaw drew her gaze away from Bubblingstar momentarily, casting her yellow-green eyes on all the cats on patrol - Scarletdrift, Heavy, Thrushpaw, Bubblingstar, and herself. They were more than equipped for a fight if it came down to it.
Stern eyes met celebratory when Bubblingstar agreed to check out the sound, only for that celebration to shift into annoyance. There was logic in the leader's worry about the two apprentices, but this was Slatepaw's second moon of training! She planned on becoming a warrior in the next moon or two, and she was sure her brother had a similar outlook. "But-"
"Do as Bubblingstar says." A pelt brushed against Slatepaw's. The gray and white molly turned to see her mother standing at her side. Heavy's expression was neutral, but there was still tension in the way she maneuvered herself. "Sometimes when a battle is necessary, the most heroic cats are the ones who swallow their pride and come back with reinforcement."
Slatepaw shuffled her paws, absorbing in Heavy's words. Was her mother implying that it was courageous to run away from a battle? Having more warriors to help fight was important, Slatepaw could realize that, but what if her claws helped win the battle instead?
She had no time to argue as the patrol began cautiously headed toward where the screech had sounded. Bitterness engulfed the air, a sharp tang hitting Slatepaw's nose; the molly curled her lip, offended by such a foul odor. She had been told about the thunderpath, about how thunderous creatures with a terrible stench roared across the black path. She had been warned about how many lives the thunderpath had taken from unaware souls.
And just a few pawsteps away was the body of the thunderpath's latest soul claimed.
Death was part of life. For wild cats, it could happen at any moment. Slatepaw was aware of that; she had lived through a deadly bout of yellowcough not all that long ago. The disease had taken two of her Clanmates, Icepath and Deerleaf, and while she had not been allowed to get close to the bodies, she had caught glimpses of the stiff bodies as the Clan had mourned. Death was not new to Slatepaw, but this was the first time she was actually seeing it up close. And honestly...she wasn't sure how to feel.
She paused at the edge of where wilderness met urban. Fresh blood splattered the ground near the thunderpath, coloring the shades of green with a warm splash of scarlet and vermilion. In a way it was beautiful how the colors came together, yet the sight of the twisted, broken body of the newly deceased cat was ugly. Jaws parted in a silent yowl and unsheathed claws digging into the ground in a struggle to live, the cat had not gone easily. Agony had filled this cat's last few moments.
Maybe if they had been here earlier then they could have saved this poor cat...
Slatepaw shakily took a step closer; she remained near her patrol, but a tugging at her paws made her move, a yearning in the pit of her chest forcing her to stand closer to the corpse. The gray and white apprentice lowered herself, staring only at the body as she asked, "Should we bury them?" Leaving the body out here felt sickly wrong. Not only would it attract predators, but a part of Slatepaw felt that if they treated the dead cat with respect and took care of its body, then maybe they would find the peace they didn't have at the end.

ScarletdriftSwapping stories with Dappleswipe | lazzylake
Scarletridt listened to Dappleswipe's stories. He thought that it was funny, that she was always the rogue in her games. Then she asked about Frostfleck. His kit. They were both gone now, but he hoped they would be remembered for seasons to come. "Frostfleck was-she was my daughter. She and her sister, Beesong, loved playing moss ball. It was so funny to watch them jump after it. When they became apprentices, they worked hard, they impressed their mentors. I was so proud when they became warriors. And they kept working hard their entire lives. Now Frostfleck, she was amazing, they both were, but Beesong was to kind to be deputy. Frostfleck was kind yet stern, and she took to the role very well. I say just keep doing what your doing Dappledswipe, your doing just fine." Wow. He had never talked so much about his kits, not after they died, anyway. He missed them so much, but he knew that they had died brave deaths, saving the clan from rogues, and saving the camp from a deadly snake. He just wished they didn't have to pay their life for it.

Dappleswipe Relationship pip: "Sharing stories with Scarletdrift"
Dappleswipe quietly brushed her tail over Scarletdrift's as a way to comfort the older tom. She laid down in silence, listening intently as he talked about his kits. "Frostfleck used those qualities well to serve as deputy. She taught me to be patient and that every battle does not to be confronted with claws. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor, and I want to keep her memory alive as long as I have breath in my body." Her mew quavered emotionally on those few words, and she let out a sigh. Then, the deputy smiled as Scarletdrift told her she was doing fine. It was a relief to know that an older seasoned warrior was confident in her skills. "Thank you. I'm very grateful. After a moments thought, Dappleswipe rose up and turned away, giving a polite nod to her mentor's father. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going back to make repairs on the barrier. I appreciate your company very much." tags: Dew ooc: (Can't wait for next moon! I hope I can get starters for patrols up soon)

Sand Mistlepaw (training patrol with Spottedfur). Mistlepaw paced up and down in the forest. Didn't Spottedfur say that he will explain it all? Sure, she was angry that she hasn't been made a warrior yet, but maybe there is a reason for that? The white and gray apprentice stopped pacing and took a few deep breaths, her heart rate slowing down. " If I refuse to train, I'll never be a warrior" thought Mistlepaw " I can show my loyality to YewClan by returning to my mentor and perform those hunting techniques." The apprnentice picked up the scent of Spottedfur, and raced towards him. She will show her loyality to him, but getting angry with him was not the answer!" Mistlepaw bumped into him, and looked into his silver eyes. She took a deep breath. " I'm sorry for the argument" Mewed Mistlepaw " let's continue hunting practice together, I can't wait to become a warrior! But first please explain why I can't be a warrior yet." Spottedfur — training patrol with MistlepawSpottedfur decided that he didn’t need to chase after Mistlepaw, especially if she knew what was good for her. He waited, listening to the birdsong that rang out through the forest. He hoped his apprentice would return, considering that they had yet to finish training. Plus, it would be great for Mistlepaw to work on her hunter’s crouch again. While his back was turned, he felt some cat bump into him. It was Mistlepaw, gazing up at his silver eyes. He carefully turned around and met the white and grey she-cat’s gaze. ”It’s okay, Mistlepaw,” he meowed, letting out a sigh of relief. Spottedfur wasn’t sure how content Mistlepaw would be with his explanation. Yet he was going to tell her anyways. ”Not all apprentices become a warrior at twelve moons of age,” the speckled warrior began. ”Remember when the snake bite you? Or when you were grieving over Icepath and Deerleaf? We weren’t able to train together. We lost time on training, so it means you will graduate later despite being old enough to become a warrior. You simply need to train a bit more and hone your skills. It’s hard, I know, but your loyalty proves you to be a great warrior already.”The senior warrior rested his tail on Mistlepaw’s shoulder reassuringly. ”You will make an amazing warrior, Mistlepaw. It just takes some time,” he assured her with a gentle smile.

Slatepaw »
feeling anxious about upcoming assessment - jaybun!
Confidence was no stranger to Slatepaw. Rarely did she doubt herself or her skills. Ever since she had been a kit her dream to become an amazing warrior, deputy, and then leader had kept her going. It was a bright flame burning in the dark and was not keen on going out. Slatepaw knew she had the skills to do whatever she set her mind to, but today…it was a little different.
Each pawstep shook, every breath shuddered. A storm was brewing in the young feline’s mind, creating a whirlwind of emotions that clashed against one another. Slatepaw knew she was meant to be a warrior, she knew she was meant to be a legend among her peers, but as she recalled Bubblingstar telling her she had an assessment coming up in a day or two, the young apprentice couldn’t help but feel an emotion she wasn’t used to feeling - anxiety.
All kinds of thoughts whirled inside her mind. What if she did poorly? What if Bubblingstar was disappointed in her and decided she wasn’t good enough to be the leader’s apprentice? What if she failed so badly that her warrior ceremony would be pushed back indefinitely? Would Bubblingstar ever let her be a warrior? With each worrying thought came a hurried pawstep as the spotted molly paced back and forth. The entrance to Bubblingstar’s den loomed like a hungry predator in front of her, and every time she glanced that way the pit of dread inside her stomach grew ever deeper.
Swallowing, Slatepaw took a stuttering pawstep closer to her mentor’s den. ”Bubblingstar…?” Her ears flattened, flushing with warmth. What was she even going to say to him? Maybe she could get away with acting like all of this anxiety was just too much energy that needed to be released. Maybe she could simply ask if they could go out and do some training, and if she were lucky, her anxiety would go away if she didn’t have the thoughts of her assessment at the forefront of her mind.
Slatepaw »
notices mistleheart is always the first to volunteer when things get hard - Sapphirejas
”Mistleheart! Mistleheart!” Slatepaw’s voice rang the loudest as the warrior ceremony came to an end. Well, maybe not the loudest, but nobody could tell the spotted molly any different. She wanted to proclaim her voice as the loudest, and so she would believe that it was. And she wanted to make sure her friend heard her and knew that Slatepaw was proud of the newly named warrior. Mistleheart had worked so hard for this, and deserved her warrior name.
It was becoming hard to believe that at one point the both of them had been kits together. It hadn’t been for long, Mistleheart become an apprentice not long after Slatepaw and her littermates had been born, but there had been a time that Mistleheart, Slatepaw, Thrushpaw, and Brightpaw had shared the nursery. Then they had shared the apprentices’ den, and it was during their time as a ‘paw that Slatepaw had noticed just how hard Mistleheart had worked for her warrior name. Anytime it got hard living as a Clan cat, Mistleheart was among the first to step up and take charge. Not every cat had that sort of determination. Not every cat had that sort of shine to them.
Slatepaw smiled at Mistleheart. If any cat deserved the suffix of -heart, it was the white and gray warrior standing in front of the entire Clan.
Maybe, just maybe, Slatepaw herself could harbor a heart as courageous and loyal as Mistleheart.

Heavy »
With each moon Heavy was growing all the more comfortable with being on patrols. She knew the territory quite well now and knew how to navigate it like a true-born YewClan warrior. Confidence was brimming in each pawstep she took alongside Dappleswipe and the newly named Mistleheart. No longer anxious over patrols and being a warrior, Heavy was eager to show her worth and conviction to the Clan that had taken her in all those seasons ago.
In her eagerness to prove her worth, Heavy almost missed the obvious stench that wafted from just across the border. The calico stopped once it brushed against her nose, the fur along her nape rising like pine needles. This scent was something Heavy had smelled before, something she knew well enough to know right away what kind of threat it was.
”Badger,” she hissed, tail lashing behind her. Fortunately for the patrol the scent was clearly coming from beyond YewClan’s border and originating within PlumClan’s border. The two Clans were friendly enough with one another, and reporting a threat to the leader of the orchard-populated Clan would only heighten that friendship, but how long until a PlumClan patrol passed through to let them report the scent? Surely if a PlumClan patrol passed this way they wouldn’t miss the obvious signs of a badger in their territory.
Heavy’s claws flexed against the soft ground. Her eyes looked toward Dappleswipe, silently wondering what plan of action the deputy wanted to take on this matter.
Heavy »
reassures mistleheart when she needs encouragement - Sapphirejas
If any cat knew how hard it was to adjust to warrior life, it was Heavy. She was much more comfortable in her new role, but there were times when she still struggled with the newfound responsibility she had acquired. Her own struggles and doubts, alongside her natural perceptiveness to others, made it easy for her to see when another cat was struggling with something.
It had only been a few days since Mistleheart’s warrior ceremony, and Heavy could see the stiff way the mostly white molly walked. She noticed how Mistleheart’s tail-tip twitched and how her ears would flick as if being pestered by an unrelenting mosquito. There could be a thousand and one different things sitting heavy on the new warrior’s mind, but Heavy could only imagine that Mistleheart was struggling just a bit with her newfound status as a warrior of YewClan.
The calico padded over to where Mistleheart was, smiling warmly before leaning forward to brush her nose against Mistleheart’s cheek; the white warrior wasn’t of her blood, but in a way, Heavy still felt like the young molly’s mother. It had been Heavy that had stayed in the nursery with Mistleheart back when she had first been brought to the Clan as a kit. Even before the calico had learned of expecting her own litter, Heavy had volunteered herself as Mistleheart’s caretaker, and seeing her all grown up made the calico beam with pride. But even if Mistleheart was now a full grown cat, Heavy still felt as if she were the tiny kit she had watched over all those moons ago.
”I haven’t gotten to truly congratulate you on the new name,” she began softly, words lilting with a purr. Easing herself into a sitting stance - even though she was healed now her bones still liked to creak and shudder when asked to perform certain duties - Heavy shifted on her paws. Once settled, she looked around camp for a moment, noticing the hustle and bustle of normal greenleaf activities. ”Being a warrior feels different, doesn’t it?” While her eyes didn’t focus directly on Mistleheart, Heavy’s blue gaze glanced to the side, subtly observing how Mistleheart reacted to the question.
Heavy »
feels safe with scarletdrift around - @ open
In the last moon Heavy’s mind had been drifting into an odd direction. The molly had no idea what had spurred such thoughts, but she had decided to accept them rather than try to fight them, and the thoughts weren’t detrimental. If anything, these thoughts were reinforcing her conviction that she was becoming a true YewClan warrior and forming bonds with more and more cats. Yes, she had a bond with Stemriver that went deep - not only was he one of her closest friends, but he had fathered her kits as well - and she had a strong relationship with Mistleheart, but the relationships she had with other cats were distant. Some even strained - the calico was sure Spottedfur wasn’t fond of her at all despite the few times he showed her a softer side to him.
Here lately, though, her mind had been fixated on Scarletdrift. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he mentored one of her kits, or maybe it was simply because Heavy was realizing just how well of a warrior he was, but whatever it was, Heavy realized that she felt safe when he was around.
Did they interact a lot? Not really. In fact, there wasn’t that strong of a bond between the two, but anytime Heavy noticed the ginger-specked tom she flushed with warmth and admiration at his skills. With him around, Heavy knew she was safe; she knew her kits were safe as well. Thrushpaw was in fine paws with the senior warrior as his mentor.
As the former loner lazed about in the sun pondering her thoughts, she had to wonder if maybe her newfound fondness of Scarletdrift was simply from the fact that he had never made her feel unwanted in the Clan. Other warriors had given her a hard time here and there, but not Scarletdrift. Sure, Stemriver and Mistleheart always had her back as well, but the difference between those two and Scarletdrift was that Scarletdrift was a full-blooded YewClan cat through and through. Both Stemriver and Mistleheart had outsider roots just like Heavy did, and that drew the three together more than anything, but with Scarletdrift, he had a true connection to the Clan they all lived in. And knowing that a true YewClanner would be there to protect her and have her wellbeing in his thoughts made her feel warm. Made her feel wanted. Whatever came her way, she was sure Scarletdrift would be there to keep her safe.

BUBBLINGSTAR - Anxiety with Slatepaw (amused by Brightpaw, thinking of Mistlepaw's ceremony) Bubblingstar absentmindedly licked a paw, slicking it up and over his ear. His den was a nice reprieve from the quiet bustle of camp as he thought. Spottedfur had approached him earlier, both to inform him of Mistlepaw's progress; and to ask after the possibility of her graduation. The later had nearly slipped his mind- he'd been a bit busy for obvious reasons. Frankly, he should've probably named her a moon earlier. The young molly was getting a bit too big to be sharing the apprentice's den with Heavy's litter. He was ashamed to admit to Spottedfur that he didn't know Mistlepaw very well. And with the tom's input, he'd managed to settle on a few qualities to work into the ceremony; and on what he'd hoped was a good name. Mistleheart just had a ring to it! " Bubblingstar...?" Bubblingstar perked up at the familiar call, moving to poke his head out of his den. The teasing remark he'd had saved died out at the sight of Slatepaw's slumped posture. He shuffled to the side, an invitation for her to join him, " Slatepaw? Is something wrong?"

Mistleheart (Mistlepaw receiving her Warrior name) Mistlepaw's heart was thumping faster and faster as Bubblingstar spoke the words of StarClan in her warrior's ceremony. At the end of last moon, she was finally allowed to do her Warrior's Assessment. And she passed it with ease, catching multiple rabbits, squirrels, and even a hare! The white and gray she-cat was beyond proud of herself, and she can't believe the day is finally here at last! " I do" mewed Mistlepaw when Bubblingstar asked her if she will uphold the Warrior Code. The now-former apprentice's heart fluttered with joy when Bubblingstar names her Mistleheart. " Thank you, Bubblingstar!" Meowed Mistleheart in awe, after her Warrior's Ceremony. " This is such a beautiful name! And it describes me perfectly as a cat! I will show YewClan that I am the most loyal and hardworking cat ever!" Mistleheart purred warmly in appreciation of her new name, a name so beautiful, and fitted her so well. A name that is all she asked for, and meant so much to the gray and white she-cat. Feathertalon Mistleheart (Notices Slatepaw calling the loudest in her Warrior's Ceremony, and notices her smiling). During Mistleheart's Warrior Ceremony, she noticed that Slatepaw's voice was calling the loudest. She purred in appreciation as the cats all called out her name after the ceremony. As the new gray and white warrior helped with clearing out crowfood from the freshkill pile, She noticed the dark gray and white apprentice smiling at her. Mistleheart smiled back, this cat seemed to really appreciate her hard work. After she is done in removing the crowfood that could potentially make cats sick, Mistleheart walked into the apprentice's den, not to relax in it - this was not her den (she will now sleep in the warrior's den), but to seek out Slatepaw. She found the apprentice quickly. " Hi Slatepaw" meowed Mistleheart " I noticed that you really seem to appreciate me and my work for the Clan. Would you like to spend a little bit of time me before I go on a border patrol?" Her warm gaze looked into Slatepaw's light yellow eyes. Feathertalon Mistleheart (Being congruated by Heavy for her new name). The next two days after Mistleheart's Warrior Ceremony has been moving slowly for the white and gray she-cat. One day, Heavy was touching her pelt, having come over to congrauate the young she-cat for her new warrior name. Her motherly body felt warm against hers. " Thank you Heavy" said Mistleheart sweetly " The name Mistleheart is perfect for me! I can't believe that I'm finally a warrior. You know Heavy..." Mistleheart paused "y ou have been like a mother to me, even though we aren't related by blood." Then, Heavy asked the young she-cat how it felt like to be a warrior. " It feels... different." Mistleheart paused to think "It feels like I have so much on my paws, things to do, now that I'm a warrior. I mean, I'm expected by StarClan to fight until my death if I had to to protect my Clanmates! It is a lot to take in. Also, it is weird not sleeping in the apprentice's den anymore. The warrior's den is so much more crowded! Even more crowded than the apprentice's den after it was joined by your kits." Mistleheart gazed warmly into the eyes of the cat that she has known ever since she was a kit, since the day she was taken in by YewClan, and the day the Clan became her home.

Dappleswipe Relationship pip:"Thinks Mistleheart was polite during her ceremony."
Thoughts: "Is wondering if she's ready to be leader."
Sitting besides Bubblingstar, Dappleswipe happily yowled the newly appointed warrior's name. It was always a joyous occasion to see when apprentices passed their assessments and boasted their new names; Dappleswipe figured if she was to become leader one day, arranging the ceremonies would be one of her favorite duties. Suddenly feeling a bit nervous, she shuffled her paws and glanced up at Bubblingstar. The leader was heading to their den now. Dappleswipe thought for a moment on all the moments she would spend with the patched ginger tom as second in command. Hunting together, battling, or simply needing advice. The tortoiseshell hoped those nine lives didn't pass too soon. She wanted to focus on being the best deputy she could be right now. And that focused on arranging patrols. Speaking of which, Mistleheart would be a good addition. She would be delighted to assign the molly her first true patrol. The deputy padded up to greet her, striped tail waving up high. Dappleswipe's meow rose to an amused trill as she playfully teased the white and gray warrior. "See? I told you Spottedfur would make you a new warrior soon!" You were very well behaved, and the whole of YewClan offers you their condolences." Carefully, Dappleswipe flicked her ears, choosing her words carefully so she didn't sound too bossy. "When you're ready, I'd like for you to join a border patrol with me. Heavy will be coming along too. I've scented something strange on the wind near PlumClan's territory, and I'd like to investigate it." tags: Sapphirejas ooc: (It's been a rough day for me so I don't know if I'll get that patrol response up today. Here's hoping though.)

BUBBLINGSTAR - Mistleheart! " I'm glad you like it," Bubblingstar purred back in reply to Mistleheart, " Spottedfur is very proud of your progress." It was such a joy to see how quickly kits grew. Just some moons ago, she had been a tiny scrap of fur they'd found wandering about the forest. " And I am too!" He scrambles to add, tapping the new warrior's shoulder with his tail. Stars forbid he accidentally demoralizes Mistleheart just moments after her ceremony.

Slatepaw »
Slatepaw was going to be a big girl. She was going to hold in all her fears from Bubblingstar and act as if everything was normal. She was going to puff out her chest and declare that she was ready to start their training for today and crow to her mentor about how she was going to perfect every new skill Bubblingstar showed her by the end of their session.
But that didn’t happen.
The moment her mentor’s head peeked out of the den all of Slatepaw’s anxieties crashed down on top of. An avalanche of fear and worry thundered over her, catching her right in the middle of the turmoil. The gray and white molly crumbled under Bubblingstar’s gaze, his eyes clearly picking up on the worry that gnawed at her.
Quick pawsteps collided her into Bubblingstar, the smaller cat using his sturdy frame as a stabilizer for her shaky movements. Nose pressed deep into his fur she choked out, ”I’m worried about my assessment, Bubblingstar.” A part of her felt ashamed to admit this. It was embarrassing to be so worked up over a simple trial that every apprentice had to face. These periodic assessments would be what proved she was ready to be a warrior, and how ready was she to advance if just the thought of an assessment had her shaking in her own fur? This uncertainty wasn’t like her. Slatepaw had always been so sure of herself, and yet…
Slatepaw pressed even closer to Bubblingstar. Ever since she had been a kit she had looked up to the ginger tom. From that first interaction with him moons ago she had sworn to make him proud and to follow in his pawsteps. How could she do that if this assessment was tearing her confidence apart? There was no way a strong leader like Bubblingstar had ever been afraid of his assessments as an apprentice. Thrushpaw and Brightpaw weren’t cowering away in their nests or choking back tears at their mentors. An involuntary whimper rattled in the back of her throat.
Why did she have to feel so hopeless?
Slatepaw »
Abuzz with excitement after Mistleheart’s warrior ceremony, Slatepaw was rummaging about in the apprentices’ den trying to gather all the old moss from the nests. Moss duty was usually a boring chore, but it was something that needed to be done and if cats noticed her voluntarily doing this without having been told then maybe they’d notice just how mature and ready to be a warrior she was.
This wasn’t the first time that Slatepaw ran through a list of possible warrior names for herself. Claws working the dry moss into a pile, Slatepaw mumbled to herself options for her warrior name. ”Slateflight, Slateclaw, Slatecrash…” Whatever her warrior name was she wanted something strong and powerful. She wanted a name that made any cat immediately respect her upon hearing her name. ”Slateshock, Slatehawk…” There were so many different options, even more than the young apprentice could even think of.
A voice that wasn’t her own carried into the apprentices’ den. Slatepaw’s ears perked up, expecting to see one of her littermates entering the den. She was surprised to see Mistleheart, but excited to see her friend.
Slatepaw’s tail curled high in the air as she bounded toward the new warrior. Her nose pressed against the white molly’s shoulder in an enthusiastic greeting. ”Mistleheart! Miss this den already?” Teased the younger molly, paws moving her away from the new warrior so she could look up at her with an amused twitching of whiskers.
A warm smile pulled at the corner of her lips as Mistleheart acknowledged Slatepaw’s obvious admiration for the older cat. A purr tickled her throat, her tail curling even more until the tip almost touched her back. More cats needed to realize that Mistleheart really gave it her all - she was loyal and determined, always ready to step forward and help. ”I’d love to!” She chirped; getting rid of the old moss could wait for another time if it meant getting to spend some moments with Mistleheart.

Heavy »
A conversation Heavy had had with Stemriver moons ago occupied her mind. It was about what her warrior name would be if she were to ever receive one. Stemriver had said Heavy was a name good enough, and she had agreed. Before becoming part of the Clan she had gone by a different name - Katydid - but now she was Heavy, and maybe it wasn’t the name she was given at birth, but it was who she was now. It was who she would always be. Her warrior name was Heavy, and she had no plans of ever changing that.
However, looking at the newly named Mistleheart, the calico couldn’t help but wonder if a suffix to her name would be a smart move. She was the only cat in the Clan without a full Clan name, but the more she pondered over this idea the more unsettled it made her. Heavy was her warrior name, regardless of the lack of a suffix.
Having a true warrior name was important to other cats of YewClan, and knowing that Mistleheart had dreamed of this achievement for seasons made Heavy proud. Mistleheart had made it. Just yesterday she had been a tiny kit in the nursery and today she was a full grown warrior. Heavy’s heart was full to bursting - words couldn’t describe just how happy she was for the young molly. ”You’ll be an amazing warrior, I just know it,” she breathed, leaning in to nuzzle the warrior. Every hair on her pelt tingled with love for Mistleheart when she mentioned that Heavy was like a mother to her. Even if Mistleheart was not hers by blood, she was still the calico’s first ever kit. The love she had for Mistleheart was the same love she had for Brightpaw, Thrushpaw, and Slatepaw. ”I’m glad to be a mother to you,” she breathed, emotion twining in her words. ”Even if you’re a warrior now I’ll always be here for you.” Warrior or not, Mistleheart would always be Heavy’s kit.
Heavy gently ran her tail along Mistleheart’s back in a gesture of comfort. ”You’ll adjust to being a warrior sooner than you think. And you’ll get used to the warriors’ den soon enough.” The calico’s whiskers twitched as she remembered her first few nights in the warriors’ den. She had gone from the medicine cat den to the nursery and then the warriors’ den. They had all been different, and adjusting to them all had taken some time, but eventually she had gotten used to them all, and in time, Mistleheart would feel at home in her new nest as well.

Feathertalon lazzylake Mistleheart (on border patrol with Heavy and Dappleswipe) After a few days has passed for Mistleheart's Warrior's ceremony, the white and gray she-cat was asked by Dappleswipe to go on a border patrol with Heavy and her, to investigate a strange at near the PlumClan border. The days with Mistleheart as a warrior has been going a slow as a snail, with so many tasks to do as a warrior. Mistleheart was glad to go out on a border patrol with the deputy and a cat that she has learnt to call a mother, Heavy, in the warm sunshine. Mistleheart trekked in the dense bush with Dappleswipe and Heavy, to the PlumClan border, with rays of warmth hitting her white pelt. Suddenly, she smelt the bitter and tangy smell that Dappleswipe was reporting about. It was wafting into YewClan's territory from PlumClan's borders. Once Mistleheart and the other two cats reached the edge of YewClan's border, they halted to a stop. " Badger" the young she-cat heard Heavy say with a hiss. Once she said it, Mistleheart finally recognized the scent. It was clearly coming from inside PlumClan's territory, and it wasn't YewClan's problem to deal with. Mistleheart watched as Heavy turned her head towards Dappleswipe, expecting her to say something. " I think a badger is not YewClan's problem to deal with, Dappleswipe." Called out Mistleheart " They are clearly not patrolling the border, so why should we risk going to PlumClan's camp to report the incident to their leader. They should fix this problem themselves!" She too turned her head towards to the black and dark ginger deputy. " What do you think we should do Dappleswipe?" Nettle Mistleheart (Relationship Pips "C omplement's Stemriver's fighting skills", and "spars with Stemriver +") Mistleheart woke up from her afternoon nap in the warrior's den. She was still not used to sleeping in it, but she knows that she will get comfortable being a warrior after a moon. She padded into the afternoon sun. The sun was starting to pelt downwards, and the warmth from the sun spread through her white and gray body. She found Stemriver sparring another Clan cat in the camp grounds. The gray and white warrior stopped sparring when he saw Mistleheart. " Wow!" Meowed Mistleheart in awe " You have amazing fighting skills, Stemriver." She smiled at the young tom. " You was great at sparring!" " Can I spar with you next?" Said Mistleheart excitedly " I want a chance to test my fighting skills against you! I am a great warrior like you!"

ScarletdriftPatrol with Thrushpaw | NettleIt was a wonderful day out, the sun was shining, and there was not a cloud in the sky. These were days you couldn't miss. Scarletdrift took Thushpaw out into the territory, looking for a good place to settle down. Finally, he found a small clearing filled with sun. The two settled down there, taking a moment to relax in the sun. "So, Thrushpaw, I am going to ask you some questions, and your going to try and answer then. Understand?" Thrushpaw nodded, and he continued.
"If you have five mice, but you eat one, and then a hawk eats one, how many do you have?"
