BUBBLINGSTAR - Ceremonies Bubblingstar hobbled to the highest point of camp, excitement not dampened in the least by the dead weight of his leg. These ceremonies were one of the few highlights of his role as leader, and he'd spent the past few days mulling on his choices for this exact moment. " Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a Clan meeting!" he called, settling in the most dignified pose he could manage without jostling his broken bone. Bubblingstar waited patiently for the clan to filter out from the dens, sparing Mudfleck an especially warm look. Once all were settled, he took a breath and began. " Today we celebrate the growth of Yewclan! Our young cats have worked hard in learning our ways, and I believe that should be rewarded." His eyes crescented in happiness, falling on one cat in particular, " Dapplepaw, please step forward." He shuffled a bit in place as Dapplepaw stepped to the front of the gathering. Bubblingstar took a breath, tipping his head toward the sky as he gifted the apprentice her full name- Dappleswipe. Stressing the younger cat's courage and supportive nature. He waited until the chants of the warrior's new name petered out, " I am also honored to announce another change." Bubblingstar nodded to Mudfleck, turning to face Stormkit at the edges of the crowd. |

Stormkit
Stormkit's tail bristled in place for a second when Bubblingstar drew attention to her. All of a sudden, the entire clan seemed to have their eyes on her all at once. She'd been waiting for this day, her apprentice ceremony, since she was old enough to understand the duties of a warrior. So why, then, was her body trembling? Why did her eyes dart around as if looking for a place to hide?
Why did she wish things were different somehow...?
Steeling herself, reminding herself that this was supposed to be a stepping stone to her goal, Stormkit stepped forward with a nod to join Bubblingstar's side.

Icepath Icepath sat below the meeting place, her eyes flickering nervously to Bubblingstar then to the crowd. A smile was plastered on her face, a fake one, she was never good at these things...ceremonies. Yet she was determined to look formal, flowers decorating her coat, which had been groomed until it shined. It was a special occsaion wasn't it.
Yet she couldn't help but feel guilty with every look she stole at Bubblingstar. The tom's fidgeting reminding her of his aching leg. It still wasn't healing the way she meant it to and she wondered if it would heal properly.

A Talk + Omen
Icepath glanced at the apprentice, empathy welling in her eyes. Whether it was maternal instinct or the need to comfort a clanmate close to her, the molly curled her tail protectively around Stormpaw and licked her forehead lovingly. The healer wasn't one for physical affection, but she assumed that Stormpaw needed comfort. Much like Icepath had once did.
The medicine cat smiled, "It's not a problem, many cats have switched positions, even after they became warriors!" Her voice was calm and collected, unlike the millions of voices racing through her mind. Was Stormpaw going through a dry spot and would want to become a warrior later? Perhaps she was hoping she could become Icepath's apprentice. Though the healer was sure the last one was a personal bias.
"I can't do much, but I'm always here to listen if you need it." Her ears suddenly perked and then she remembered, "And if you wanted, you could become a mediator!" She knew that was a likely position, it was peaceful, yet didn't have the restrictions of a medicine cat.
Stormpaw
Stormpaw flinched for a second as Icepath's tail wrapped around her in a cocoon of fur. It was strange... She could barely recall Mosspond's affection, but the gentle textures of the medicine cat's tail and her tongue against her head called to mind the blurry images of her formative moons. Perhaps, if she were to join Icepath as a medicine cat, she would have the opportunity to see her mother again, at least one last time...
Hence, she immediately shook her head when Icepath suggested the path of a mediator.
"But who would I learn from then?" she replied. "We've never had a mediator as far as I know, and surely no one from the other clans will step up. What if they think I'll claw them in the back somewhere down the line? All I want is to help other cats, and I can't do that if they can't trust me. And besides, I've learned so much from our talks, and I would hate for that knowledge to go to waste. It's the least I can do to repay your patience.
"I'm not going to force you to train me, Icepath, but please, at least consider it."

Icepath Icepath shivered, the sudden motion startling her. Her smoke fur prickled with confusion. A mediator would be a suitable position. The surprise that came when Stormpaw asked Icepath to consider the option. To be honest, Icepath would be thrilled to take Stormpaw as her apprentice...though she wasn't sure if Bubblingstar or Mudspeck would agree.
"Your worries are valid," She closed her eyes, bitterly remembering the silent call of Bramblespots' ghost...the unjustly murder of a peace-keeper, deputy or not. "Knowledge is never a waste." Icepath's cracking voice replied slowly, as if she hadn't heard everything properly, but she spoke with respect for the apprentice's switch.
"If Bubblingstar agrees, then I look forward to having you as my apprentice." The healer's blue eyes glowed with pride.

(OOC: Brownie In that case, starting next moon, I would like the role change to take effect. I was also informed that I could make a description update, so here it is!
Description: Stormpaw is a short-furred, fluffy, grey she-cat with with patches and stripes of grey, both lighter and darker. Some of the dark grey markings form a mask around her luminous silver eyes (that can be easily mistaken for brown at first glance). Stormpaw is a gentle young cat who cares deeply for those she trusts and whose happiness rubs off on the clan. Her bad days can influence others too, however. After growing disturbed with fighting, she decided to train as a medicine cat, partly out of a desire to help other cats and partly in the hope that communing with StarClan will let her see her late mother again. She looks up to Bubblingstar, but not without respect for his leadership.) |

Beesong and Icepath had debated whether gathering a third cat, but decided that it would be better for the herbs to grow instead of picking them all at the same time.

Her heart sank, and Frostfleck could see that the healer was upset and shocked. "Mouse-dung!" Growled Frostfleck, her tail lashing with fury. "Looks like another cat or animal has dug up the burdock! Icepath, will the Clan be able to handle having no burdock for a while? Looks like we need to find another patch of them!" Frostfleck awaits the healer's answer. |

Icepath Icepath's eyes widened in horror at the scene. Her precocious plants, the plants she had been taking care of almost everyday. Now reduced to sundry chunks of leaf, smashed into the torn up soil. The shallow ridges in the ground were easily hidden and Icepath found herself stumbling over most of them. Her tail swept over the once-full garden.
We have enough herbs for the next moon. Thoughts echoed in her mind, sharp and painful. If only I had put more snake skins around, that would've kept them away.
The she-cat picked up the few leaves that remained, she would have to clean them off later. Hopefully this would help the soil grow better, stronger plants. Maybe more prickly parts this time.
"Yes, the Clan will survive until the next month."

Sand you're with Beesong which is quokka. Sorry for not being around, I'm currently on the "struggling to see past watering eyes" phase of sick. If it's like the other people who gave this Sick to me, this should be the end of the road tho (+ a few days of sniffles but this should be the last major Symptom to overcome). So yeah should be (hopefully) on more tomorrow to clean up the front page and get back on track ]]

Stormpaw
As greenleaf drew to a close, cosy spots of sunshine began to fade into obscurity. Stormpaw, wanting to make the most of whatever sunshine she could, found a nice little patch of light just outside camp. The grass was gentle on her paw pads, and its warmth was almost hypnotising.
It was a good spot for reflection. Stormpaw had made up her mind about training as a medicine cat, but wasn't sure how to bring this up to Bubblingstar. Perhaps getting some fresh air and good sun would help, she reckoned?
