Estelle followed them out. Along with the onslaught of night, the air had gotten cooler. It made her shiver slightly, "Me too," She answered in response to Callan. They would be parting ways when they got to the dormitories, hers being upstairs.

Daylight seeps over the grounds of the monastery, signifying the beginning of a new day.
Blue Lions | Rieka ❆
Rieka, early to sleep and early to rise, had already woken up. She looked around the training grounds, noting the weapons racks at the sides. What she really wanted to do was get some familiarity with the brawling knuckles. That would be easier if she had a partner to practice on, but for now she was content with punching the empty air. It's early. I wonder if anyone else is up yet, she thought, curiously.

Adora was also awake, trailing the grounds, familiarising herself with every nook and cranny. She gave a friendly greeting to the knights whenever she passed them by which was often. They do seem to be crawling all over this place, don't they? She and the others would need to be especially careful what they discussed and where - not a revelation though. That had always been a given.

Philomel was sat in his room, sifting through the profiles of his new class. He had done so yesterday as well, but now that informal teaching would be starting up, it would be important to memorise at least the names. I am rather curious about Orryn and Konstantin's classes too so maybe I will pay them a visit later.

Nora | Stables | Open
Nora had went over to the stables first thing in the morning and was now watching Danya, her prideful white horse. Danya could be a difficult one and sometimes not even Nora could tell what kind of mood that horse was in. But today she seemed to be pretty easy to get along with. Sooner or later Nora would have to train with her but for the first months she would focus mostly on her magic and training with the lance.
Julius | Commoner Dorms | Open
Julius stood outside his room and glanced at the knights that passed by every now and then. He wondered if some of the other students were up already. Yesterday he hadn't paid too much attention to his classmates at the house meeting and he had skipped dinner. Not that he would have hated the food there but if anybody here knew him, or who he was pretending to be, it would have seemed weird to them. So today he would have no choice but to interact with some of the others.
Agnar | Bridge | Open
Agnar stood on the bridge between the reception hall and the cathedral, just enjoying the view there. It showed him once more how different Fódlan was and while he would always prefer his home country he couldn't deny being fascinated. Isak would love it, he thought put trying to actually sketch it would be hard. Though he supposed he could worry about that later, either in the evening hours or on a sunday. Then he might have enough time.
Jasmine | Training Grounds | Rieka
Jasmine made her way over to the training grounds. As usual she tried to get there as early as possible. Either she would train by herself or challenge one of the other trainees. She was pleasantly surprised to see one of the students there instead. It wasn't one of those who had caught her eye last evening at dinner but anyone who practiced this early was someone she could respect. "Hey, uhm.. you!" she greeted cheerfully as she walked over to Rieka.

Neason-Noble Dorms-Open Neason yawned as he stretched in his dorm, glancing breifly to the window in the room, as he watched the forms below moving about in the early morning light. He finished getting ready by putting on the cape, that marked him as the house leader, and exited his dorm. His room was further down the hall from the stairs so he had a long walk, which he killed time by looking at the dorms he passed curious to see who was inside. He passed his brother's room and noticed he wasn't iside but it didn't surprise him. Searc-Training Grounds-Jasmine,Rieka(mentioned) Searc entered the training grounds and took note that there was two others inside. One looked like she was a knight based on the attire the female had, but as for the other one he wasn't certain. Choosing to not dwell on it he walked over to where the racks of weapons were and choose a sword. He spun it a bit to test the weight of it, giving a small nod he walked over to an area to practice. Ciarra-Stables-Open Ciarra walked into the stables grabbing a pitchfork to change the hay for the horses. She was disappointed that there were no knights around yet. But she was sure some would be by soon, she was hoping to talk with some to hear about any thing interesting that they might have experienced. She had enjoyed her time as a squire and getting to travel all over Fodlan, and hoped to hear some tales of either places she had been to or ones that she hadn't. Orryn-Professor's Room-Open Orryn was passed out on the floor of his room, having passed out at some point during the night. He pulled his cloak over head to try and block out the light that was beginning to sweep into the room. The young professor showing no signs of waking up anytime soon. His breathing was soft as he continued to sleep on the floor. Alastair-Dining Hall-Open Alastair walked into the dining hall, hoping to grab some breakfast before doing anything else. He took a plate of the Sautéed Pheasant and Eggs, heading for a table to sit down. He observed the food curiously, it was different from what was served back at his home. He gave a small shrug and took a bite of the eggs. Elara-Commoner Dorms-Open Elara stood outside her dorm, enjoying the pleasant morning air. It was rather peaceful at Garreg Mach and she had to admit it was a welcomed change from the Empire. She watched as other students and some knights moved about as they went about their own devices. She tied her hair back into the bun, something she had gotten used to doing that she no longer needed to see her reflection. Imrie-Blue Lions Classroom-Open Imrie had shown up early to the classroom, she didn't mind being one of the first ones there it just meant she could have her choice of seating. She just one of the ones around the middle of the tables. She eyed the blackboard at the front, curious to see if it will give her any clues on what the lesson would be for the day. Pierce-Library-Open Pierce walked along the wall, observing all the different kinds of books the library had to offer. He plucked one off that had caught his eye. It was a book of children fables, he could recall it from his childhood. He put it back on the shelf as he continued to eye the books, his eyes lighting up a bit when he found on on the history of the kingdom. Taking it off he headed for a table to sit down to read. Jason-Reception Hall-Open Jason didn't talk to his classmates yesterday, as his mind had been to preoccupied with other things. He thought over the mission that he was given, he knew there was two others that also had the same mission, one in each house. He popped his knuckles a bit as he stood from the table he had sat at. How long would we be needing to spy?i had to rewrite these three times cause my wifi kept cutting out) |

Rieka's ears pricked at the unfamiliar voice, "Yes?" She answered, wondering if she had accidentally broken some rule by coming to the training hall so early. The girl who entered didn't look like a student and actually seemed a bit younger than her. Still, could she be the training partner she had been looking for?

Adora, not wanting to arise suspicion by continuously going in circles, had moved down into the stables when she saw Nora. She lifted a hand in a friendly greeting, "Oh, hi," Nora was one of the students she had quickly introduced herself to the other day, "Mmm... Nora, right?" She inquired as she scrabbled for the other girl's name.

Philomel slotted his papers back into his desk. All done. After teaching for a number of years, his memory had gotten quite sharp, "Right. Let us go check on the others, shall we?" He mumbled to Mal, perched at the top of a book case. He stood, left his office and knocked on the door opposite, Professor Orryn's.

Silke had slept in a bit late. She slept like a log after all the interaction the day before, and she was hurrying to get in her morning training. Silke simply couldn't start her day until she had trained, everything would be off and bad if she didn't get some in. So she burst into the training ground, eyeing the people "You there!" she pointed to Searc "How are your skills?" she approached him, looking ready to train.
Megumi | Dining Hall
What was this? Megumi thought to herself as she looked over the food available to them. Some of the meals were new to her, and she her dislike of humans led her to not asking. She'd gotten a very sweet meal the night before, and had almost regretted it after her stomach had been upset the rest of the night. But again, she was too prideful to ask for help. Instead she wandered along the line, trying to find something that she might like.

Luca was passing the reception hall when someone caught his eye. The other looked familiar, but Luca hadn't had the chance to talk to him. He did know that they were both in the Blue Lions though. Luca put on his most friendly smile and made his way over "Hello~ We haven't met, have we. My name is Luca." he greeted, thrusting out his hand for a shake "It would be poor form of me not to speak to everyone in the same class, we're going to be together for the year after all."

The kitsune had been making his way out of his room when he spotted Julius. His ears perked up a bit and he approached the other "Good morning." Rekka hadn't interacted with this person before, and he was right there, it would be a waste to not even introduce himself "They're busy today as well." he noted, looking out at the knights that were patrolling the area.

Searc-Training Ground-Silke Searc glanced over at the voice that had snapped him out of his mindset. He eyed her, noting the red cape she wore marking her as the house leader of the Black Eagles. "I would say my skills are pretty good," he commented. "I've been training since I was old enough to old a sword. Do you want to spar or something?" He gazed at her as he awaited an answer from her. Jason-Reception hall-Luca Jason jumped a bit hearing a voice so suddenly, snapping him from his thoughts. he looked to see Luca, if he recalled right, the boy was in the Blue Lions house meeting. "W-we haven't," he confirmed. He hesitated before shaking his hand. "I'm Jason." Luca had a point, he would need to get to know the others as well, would make it clearer who was an outsider and who wasn't. "It's nice to meet you Luca." |

"Actually, I was hoping that some of the students would make for good training partners." She glanced at Rieka, looking slightly curious. Since this was the first year Wolfskin and other beastkin were attending the academy this would be a great opportunity. "Oh, right. I'm Jasmine. I may not be a student but I'm training to become a knight. And you are...?" Nora | Stables | AdoraNora looked up when she heard someone approaching and quickly waved at the other girl. Behind her she could hear Danya's disapproving snort but it didn't really surprise her. Danya usually didn't like meeting new people. "Mhm. And you're Adora if I'm not mistaken," Nora replied. She briefly glanced at the horse that retreated further into her box and chuckled when it glared at the two girls as if they had offended her. "You'll have to excuse her. She's always like that when she meets someone new."
Julius | Commoner Dorms | RekkaWith a cheerful smile Julius gave a quick nod as the Kitsune approached him. "Morning," he replied. "I think I saw you yesterday. We're in the same house, right?" While he hadn't really gotten a good look at his classmates it would have been impossible to not notice Rekka. He and the other beastkin kind of stood out. Glancing at the knights Julius hummed in agreement. "Must be a busy live, being a knight and all." Then he turned back to Rekka. "Anyway, we haven't talked before, right? I'm Julius. Nice to meet you."
Vincent | Courtyard | Open
Vincent was walking around the courtyard, just enjoying the morning air. He politely greeted the knights who passed by and glanced in the direction of the classrooms every now and then. It was still a bit too early to actually head there but it also wouldn't hurt to stay nearby. There wasn't much to do yet anyway.
Callan | Fishing Pond | Open
Callan sat near the fishing pond and simply watched the ripples and the sunlight being reflected on the surface. He wondered what Estelle and Rekka were doing but since he would meet them later on anyway he didn't think about it too much. For now he would just spend some time here, trying not to worry too much about meeting the rest of the class again.

She hadn't brought her own gear, usually using the stuff that was supplied. It wasn't as strong, but it was perfect for training "How about it? First to land a solid hit on the other get's a favor?" she clashed the gauntlets together, looking ready and eager to fight.

Luca grinned and gestured with a hand "Of course! I am happy to get to know you as well, I plan on becoming close with everyone here." his definition of 'close' and Jasons was probably a bit different, well it would be different to anyone. Considering how easy going and quick to get attached he was "Have you had breakfast yet? Want to get something?"

"They are busy, we never had knights where I live. Guard duty would be shared by almost everyone." Rekka mused "Oh! It's good to meet you as well. My name is Rekka." he smiled "And yes, we are in the same house." to keep up the conversation he asked "What are you training here? There are so many different options, I'd love to hear what you're passionate about." the kitsune still hadn't decided exactly what he wanted to do.

"I see," Julius replied. "I don't know much about your kind so that's interesting." He wondered if Rekka was willing to share more about his tribe or if he was one of those who chose very carefully what they wanted to tell. In any case, he would have to keep an eye on the Kitsune. "Hm. I mostly rely on dancing and white magic. But I think I should also pick up a weapon. I'm not too bad with swords and axes but I'll try to focus more on swords. They fit better into my fighting style." With a curious glint in his eyes he nodded, indicating that it was Rekka's turn. "What about you? Since you have a beaststone I guess you won't really need a weapon but who knows? Learning how to use one could be fun."

Orryn-Professor's Rooms-Professor Philomel Orryn gave a small groan at the sudden knocking at the door. Part of him hoping that whoever was on the other side would leave, but remembering where he was he begrudgingly pushed himself up tripping on his own foot the male crashed back onto the ground with a wince. He rubbed at his jaw as he managed to get to the door, opening it with a small yawn as he stretched. "Morning....how can i-oh!? I-i'm sorry Professor Philomel," he gave a quick bow to the significantly older professor. "Y-you weren't waiting long were you?" Searc-Training Ground-Silke Searc thought it over, he readied the sword in front of him. "Sounds fair," he responded. He took note of her having gauntlets. He didn't bother removing the hair from his face, as despite it being a in his way, he had grown used to fighting with only one eye being uncovered. He moved back a bit getting into a defensive stance, brawl gauntlets would mean she would need to get into a closer range, and if he could study her movements for the first few moments he could find where weak points were. Jason-Reception Hall-Luca Jason shook out his head. "I haven't eaten breakfast yet no," he said to him. He was eager to get to know his housemates. "If it is okay that I join you." He offered a slight smile to the other boy. He looked around them as he tried to recall the way to the dining hall. "I think it will be quicker if we go down through the entrance hall, if im remembering right." |

"Ready, set, go!" Silke charged in quickly. Her fighting style was quick and brutal, not as focused on defense as others might be. But her speed and natural talent certainly covered for the lack of defensive skill. She started with a quick left hook, wanting to see what the other could do when attacked out right with a simple but strong attack.

"Correct! So friendly and smart, I've certainly caught quite the impressive one this morning." Luca praised, quickly falling into his usual chatter and mild flirtations "I'll have to keep an eye on you before you get snatched away by someone else." he joked, though at the same time it was hard to tell if it truly was a joke. Either way, Luca led the way to the dining hall.
Rekka | with Julius
"Magic and dancing, impressive!" Rekka listened to the other talk with interest. When asked of his own he frowned "Hmmm well yes, but I've been told it would be smart to train in a weapon. Just in case." he hummed thoughtfully "Using weapons isn't all that common among kitsune, and any teacher is rather expensive. I guess that's why I was sent here." the humans that taught advanced weaponry would charge rates that might as well be considered robbery. Rekka always had a thing about money, and he wouldn't pay for something like that "But I do want to learn one! I'm just not sure what I should focus in." he was best in close combat in his demonic form, so maybe something ranged when not using it? There was too much to think about.

Searc-Training Grounds-Silke Searc turned on his foot, bringing his sword up to block the oncoming attack, as used the momentum to swipe his other foot to attempt to swipe it under her feet. He was aiming to get her knocked off guard which could make it easy to potentially get a hit on her. She was fast from what he was seeing so he was certain she would be able to get out of the way, and if that was the case it would still have the opportunity to leave for an attack to come into play. Jason-Reception Hall->Dining Hall-Luca Jason felt heat shot across his face, as he quickly shook out his head to try get rid of it. he followed Luca to the dining hall. The closer they got the stringer the smell of food was, it was enough to get Jason's mouth to water. He looked to Luca, he was certainly different from other people he has meet. "So...what do you specialize in?" He hoped the question wasn't to strange to ask his classmate, wanting to try to avoid an awkward silence from forming. |

Rieka tipped her head. So she was training to be a Knight of Serios? That likely took strength, "Rieka," She introduced herself solemnly, "Are you here to train as well?" She glanced again at the knuckles and gauntlets. If she transformed here, she would just interfere with the other students who were sparring. Not to mention, she didn't know how much experience these people had in fighting beastkin.

"Consider her excused!" Adora sashayed her way over to Nora. She smiled at Danya, though quickly turned her attention back to the conversation at hand, "Riding is one of the things you'll be studying here, I take it?" It would be a good idea to gauge her classmates strengths and weaknesses. If it came to it, such information might prove pertinent. |

Philomel waved his hands in a placating manner, "Oh, no, no!" He said, not terribly surprised. Orryn had been a student at the academy when the older man had been a professor. That year, he had been teaching the Golden Deer house just like this year, "I just came to talk to you, but I can certainly come back later if I am interrupting you in a moment of repose!"

Julius chuckled a bit though it sounded friendly. Were all the beastkin this excitable or was Rekka an exception? Of all his classmates the Kitsune was the one he knew the least about. But it was good to know that he had no real knowledge of the use of weapons. For a moment Julius felt tempted to suggest something that his classmate would have the most trouble with but he supposed Rekka wouldn't be stupid enough to keep trying something he kept failing at. "Maybe you should try them all out for a bit. And whatever comes easiest to you will be your weapon," he finally said. "But maybe you already know whether you want something slow but heavy-hitting or something lighter?"
Jasmine | Training Grounds | Rieka
Jasmine nodded. "I won't become stronger and more skilled by slacking off," she told Rieka. "I usually train with the knights or by myself." She followed Rieka's gaze as she spoke and grinned slightly. "So, wanna try to use those against an opponent? I'd be up for that." As a Fighter she had some experience in using gauntlets and knuckles.
Nora | Stables | Adora
"I think so." Nora didn't have too much experience with it yet but if riding proved to be easy enough for her she would definitely put more focus on it. "I'll mostly focus on magic here. Lances as well because it's kind of expected of me." She briefly glanced at Danya. "While I want to learn new things too I will probably try to become a Holy Knight." With a friendly smile she turned back to Adora. "Do you already have a set goal?"

Philomel smiled and stroked Mal's chest feathers, "I was curious about your class, truth be told," He admitted, then continued, "Though, I do think that you, Konstantin and I need to discuss how we're going to be divvying up odd jobs such as stable and cooking duty," Every year, students were expected to take part in a number of facets of life in Garreg Mach. All students were expected to have done every duty at least once, usually many more times over the course of the year.

That was a good move "Impressive!" Silke praised, jumping up. She pushed off his sword, doing a fairly dramatic flip and landing a few feet away from him. It wasn't ideal, but he had done a wise move to force her back. Silke, jumped back into the fight quickly, not giving the other time to breath. She came in from above, punching downwards.

Luca suggested, pausing momentarily to look Jason up and down. It wasn't always easy to tell what someone's specialty was at a glance, so Luca didn't expect to be right, but Jason would look good with any weapon. According to Luca at least.

Rekka thought over his options "I wouldn't say I'm good with heavy things." he stuck his tongue out "Just the thought of hauling around an axe makes my arms sore." they made their way into the dining hall, and Rekka was momentarily distracted by the food "Oh! Looks good! I'm going to eat a lot and take advantage of the free meals!"

Rieka grinned at her words, happy to oblige. She hastily grabbed a pair of the knuckles and spent a moment equipping them. They had a pleasant weight to them, "How long have you been training to be a knight?" She jabbed the air a couple of times experimentally, then turned to face Jasmine, her eyes narrowing in focus. This shouldn't be too different from using my claws.

Holy Knight, hm? Lofty goals. Adora nodded eagerly in response, "I'll be training as an archer," Her voice was confident, proud as though she could already foresee the good results her training would turn out, "I'm a good shot with a bow so it only makes sense. I suppose I may need to take up riding eventually," Bow Knight didn't sound like a bad idea even though riding had never been one of her strong suits.

Searc-Training Ground-Silke Searc ran forward when she landed. He took note of her approach and shifted his sword upwards to try to parry her strike. He had to admit she was far better than the kind of people he trained with in the alliance, as she was really making him think k on his feet, something he was grateful for. Jason-Dining Hall-Luca Jason gave a nod to his words, he hasn't meet a male that was specializing in dance before, was it a rare thing? "Oh. I specialize in riding and magic. Though I'm thinking of picking up sword, since magic isn't always reliable when up close....although I never considered axes," he commented. Axes could be used up close and in rangeds attacks if he recalled right. Orryn-Professor's Rooms-Professor Professor Philomel Orryn gave a slight nod, he was aware of the students needing to do jobs around Garreg Mach frommhis time as a student. "I don't think any of them would have a real preference," he said. "When are you thinking of the three of us meeting though?" |

"Try lances then," Julius suggested as they reached the dining hall. "Swords could work too but maybe we should try to focus on different things. I'm terrible with lances so you could pick up the slack." Maybe revealing one of his weaknesses wasn't the best idea but since they were all expected to work together it would look suspicious if he was being secretive. At Rekka's comment he too glanced at the food. The Kitsune was right, it did look pretty good. "I would feel bad for you if you didn't take advantage of it," he laughed.
Jasmine | Training Grounds | Rieka
Jasmine wasted no time and equipped a pair of gauntlets. While she was also quite skilled with the axe she wanted to test her brawling skills against the Wolfskin. "Hm. You could say I started to train not too long after I got here. I would always try out every weapon I could get my hands on and pester some of the knights," she told Rieka. "So technically about eight years? But I didn't formally start my training until two years ago." With a grin she bumped her fists together. "Ready? Bring it on, then!" She charged at Rieka, moved as if she would strike with her left hand but quickly tried to deal a blow with her right instead, curious if her opponent would be fooled by that and how fast she could react.

"A Bow Knight then," Nora guessed. "Wielding a bow while riding a horse doesn't sound like an easy task." She gave a good-natured chuckle. "Not that I should talk." Casting spells wouldn't be much easier, after all. "Did you pick up the bow because your family is skilled in archery too or is it just something you wanted to try for yourself?"

Rieka listened, impressed to hear of Jasmine's dedication to her training. 8 years was not a short amount of time formal or no. When Jasmine charged at her, she lifted herself up onto the balls of her feet in preparation to dodge left, but soon noticed that her sparring partner was trying to feint her out. She shifted her weight right, the blow only narrowly missing, and attempted to retaliate with a flurry of blows. Her work with the gauntlets was clumsy and her blows were not as quick as her wits had been. She was using them in much the same way she would swing her claws for which great accuracy wasn't usually required.

Adora considered. Alexander and Lillian von Sangrey had not at all been fighters. Both were meek, preferring to waste away behind stacks of paperwork then defend their territory. Not that it needed much defending at present, "I decided to take it up myself. I thought that at least someone in the family should be able to defend themselves so here I am," She said self-assuredly, "And, well, it will also increase the amount of roles I can pick up."

Silke was grinning, having the time of her life with the fight. While his sword was busy parrying her strike, she brought her leg around, aiming to land a strike on his side. It certainly wasn't as powerful as it would be, but if her goal was to hit him it would suffice. Not that she was trying to hurt him, even Silke understood that this was just practice.

"Magic! That makes sense! Your attractive, nice, and smart. Not just everyone can specialize in magic." he repeated, nodding his head and grabbing a plate of food for himself. He noted at Kitsune and another student nearby, but was busy befriending this current student so he didn't let himself get distracted. Luca was certain he wanted Jason as a friend now.

"Lances could be interesting. And we can't be good at everything, everyone has their weaknesses." Rekka agreed. He took a plate of food for himself and gathered a few more items, making sure to get everything he thought looked good "I haven't had the chance to go anywhere but the school since I got here, but humans have such a variety of food. It's always a treat!"

i woudnt mind it being a draw!! you have a good point that it can spark a rivalry between the two) Searc-Training Grounds-Silke Searc gave a small wince as the kick struck his side, he took a few paces back to regain his bearing before diving back into the fight. He aimed another low sweep with his leg, as he aimed for his sword a little higher. He had hints of a slight smile on his face, the fight was getting his blood pumping, something that rarely happened in his training. Jason-Dining Hall-Luca Jason looked away as he grabbed a plate of food. He observed it quietly before turning his attention back to Luca. "So what made you choose dance," he asked, looking briefly to around the room, he noticed the kitsune, but couldn't recall if they were in his house or not. He looked back to Luca curious to see where he went to sit. |

Just one good hit, that was all Silke needed. She jumped the leg sweep and aimed a solid punch for his chest. Silke had been so focused on the punch opening and the kick she needed to dodge that she didn't notice the sword. There was a clack as the sword made contact with her, and her gauntlet made contact with Searc, they hit at the same time.
She lurched back, breathing heavier than usual after the quick attacks "Once more! We cannot simply end this on a draw!" she exclaimed, not even thinking of the fact they'd need to return to class.
Luca | with Jason
"I have danced for most of my life, it was a skill passed down to me by my mother." in his youth he had weak arms, so dance was something he could do. Fighting with any weapon took the arm strength he lacked, and his mother was quite good at it already. He led them to a table and sat down at it "When she died, I figured I should get into it professionally." well, that wasn't his only reason but it was part of it "What about you? What caught your eye about magic?"

sounds good!) Searc-Training Grounds-Silke Searc clicked his tongue irritated when they both made contact at the same time. He drew back a bit, clearly unhappy as well with the outcome being a draw. He spun the sword, finding a better grip to it. "I agree," he stated, getting into another defensive stance. He was determined to win against her, it felt like his training was a waste if he ended in a draw. 'First contact wins correct?" He didn't care if class started soon, he wouldn't get better at fighting sitting in a classroom, he needed to be in a fight to get better. Jason-Dining Hall-Luca Jason followed Luca to the table, and sat across from him to make conversing easier. "I'm sorry about your mom," he said, hoping it wasn't to odd to give condolences to someone he barely knows. He thought over the question. "I guess it is just because I've never been good in a close combat styled setting. With magic I can be further away and still be able to fight, and not have to worry about the opponent retaliating." He knew it was cowardly, but he needed to play to strengths versus weaknesses. |
