Nora | Town | Adora
Narrowing her eyes in thought Nora gave a hesitant nod. Once she had purchased her books too she followed after Adora. "Yes, I heard of such dancers too. Impressive and intriguing for sure but it's not what I want for myself," she said. She did enjoy learning new styles of dancing and she wouldn't mind trying out those particular moves but as for actually taking on that role on the battlefield she just couldn't see herself doing so, or at least not for long. At Adora's next remark she snorted and chuckled to herself. Dancing on a horse, as useless as it would be, did make for a fun mental image. "Even if there was a way to do so safely I assume that it will be more distracting than helpful," she agreed. "Can't win a battle if everyone is dying of laughter." Once they stepped outside Nora glanced around and then to Adora. "Where to next? There's still plenty of time before we have to head back."
Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
"I suppose I should. But yes, let's see what they all have to offer first." As they walked around the marketplace he glanced back at Rekka. "Are you going to try out riding or flying too? I doubt you will actually have any need for it but let me tell you that flying is an experience you don't want to miss out on." While Vincent knew that not everyone shared his enthusiasm on this subject it seemed to him that the kitsune was open to trying out new things. At least from what he had seen of him so far, even though it was a little too early to make such judgements. Once they had entered the area with the food stands Vincent took a quick look around. For a relative small area there seemed to be a wide variety of food here, plenty of which he hadn't seen before. He guessed that those were more commonly known in the Kingdom and the Alliance, as he also recognized a thing or two from the Empire.

Rekka | with Estelle & Vincent
He looked over to Vincent and nodded "I'd like to try it at least once! It seems really fun, even if I'd never be able to fight from one. I mean, we don't even have many horses back home." the kitsune wandered off to a stand with some good smelling food. His ears perked up a bit and his tall swished happily as he looked over his options. He eventually decided on something and paid with a somewhat pained expression. So expensive.

Black Eagles | Grimm ✧ Grimm had to stifle a shot of satisfaction. "You know what, I underestimated you, princess," he admitted candidly. Adjusting his grip, he made to strike her abdomen to force her to defend lower. "Turns out I'm not half-bad either." It had been a while since he'd felt this well-matched with anyone. Thinking about the kind of havoc they could create on the battlefield made winning the mock battle seem even more likely.
Black Eagles | Adora ➳ "Makes sense. Everyone has a role to play." Something told Adora that finding out who the dancers were would be worth her time. They sounded as though they'd be important players on the battle-field, ones she wasn't going to underestimate. She walked out onto the street and looked back at Nora, smile widening. Here was one person who didn't mind talking about herself. To Adora's eyes, it stung of naiveté but, really, what was there to doubt. "I think we should get something to eat - blow our gold on something fancy," she answered cheerily. "I've worked up quite the appetite."
Golden Deer | Estelle ✯ Estelle wandered around with them, hands clasped behind her back. Her eyes kept darting from stall to stall. She couldn't see anything star-related, nor any pegasus feed. Painful as it may be to walk around and not spend any of her gold, perhaps she'd hold onto it for the time being. "Flying is amazing once you get the hang of it," she agreed with the topic of conversation. "I wonder if animals like you more, Rekka? Like... a kind of kin-ship?"

Jason-Bridge-Agnar Jason gave a small shrug. "From what I have heard, only people with crests have been able to wield relics that run in their families," he said to Agnar. He didn't know much on relics, as to his knowledge his family didn't have one. "I have not heard of anyone being able to use a relic that was crestless, at least in regards to the kingdom." Alastair-Courtyard-Fion Alastair watched the boy stand up. "Alright take care," he said offering a small wave to Fion. He gave a slight smile to him. "It was nice meeting you as well." He turned his attention to the felines around him. he turned his gaze back to Fion again. "Could I ask who the other Albinean is?" Part of him felt it would be fun to talk to someone else from Albinea. Neason-Courtyard-Julius "I'm sure the letters will become easy with time, things are bound to happen here," he said with a grin. The brown haired boy made a face at the mention of responsibility. "Yea it kind of sucks. I hate it, but thankfully there are plenty of ways to escape from the rooms," he said. It was no secret that he hated responsibility, and when he got assigned as the house leader of the Golden Deer, he already wasn't looking forward to attending the academy, but so far it didn't seem to be to hard. He nodded at the male's last comment. "Yea it will definitely be nice change from home." Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine Ciarra shook her head a bit. "I don't think my parents will allow for me to become a knight honestly," she said to Jasmine. "They keep talking about trying to get me married to a noble or something." She had never really bothered to listen to what her parents spoke about in regards to her crest. She smiled when Jasmine mentioned the training again. "I'll be looking forward to it," she said. "Good luck, hopefully you get accepted!"

Blue Lions | Fion ♔ Fion turned back around to face him. "Agnar, I believe, and Rieka, though I have only spoken to the former," he answered Alastair, hoping he wasn't mis-remembering. With that, he returned the other boy's wave, bent down to stroke yet another cat and continued making his way towards the library.

Nora | Town | Adora
Nora hummed in agreement but now that they had talked about it she wondered if there was anyone in their class who could play that role. Not that they needed a dancer but having one sure was an advantage. She hadn't really talked much with her classmates yesterday so she didn't really know what they would be like. But judging by today's training they seemed pretty capable. And if everyone was as easy to get along with as Adora then that made it easier for all of them to work together. So far the only difficult one seemed to be Megumi but Nora couldn't tell if that was because the Taguel just felt lost among so many humans or if she simply was a buzzkill. At Adora's suggestion she nodded eagerly. "Me too. Nothing against what the monastery has to offer but since we're here we should take this chance." As they walked she kept glancing around, wondering if the restaurants here were any good.
Agnar | Bridge | Jason
"It's the same for us then," Agnar said with a quick nod. "Though as far as I know no one has ever tried it. Some even believe that it would bring disaster or something so they stay away from that weapon." While he was sceptical of the actual explanation he did believe that wielding a relic without a crest was still a bad idea. One story told of a thief who had stolen Giermund and it hadn't ended well for the thief. Apparently something about the sword in combination with the crestless wielder had attracted a horde of monsters who had then devoured the foolish man. Instead of telling that story however Agnar just shrugged. "Maybe it's for the best that no one tries. They're not normal weapons so I guess it's possible that they're made to reject 'unworthy' ones. I heard there are spells and curses that can make a weapon turn against its wielder. And if relics are so important then it would even make sense."
Julius | Courtyard | Neason
Julius laughed at his friend's first remark. "Is that a promise?" he replied with a mischievous grin. "If nothing exciting is going on we have to make something happen, you know. How about I practice my magic? My dark magic may still be lame right now but it never fails to cause little disasters. A-plus entertainment!" He nodded as Neason spoke of responsibility and of escaping from it. "There are still some expectations for you I guess, what with you being our house leader," he mused. "But don't worry, we won't expect too much from you- oh shoot, that sounded really bad!" He shook his head and gave a apologetic laugh, making it clear that he hadn't meant it as an insult.
Jasmine | Dining Hall | Ciarra
"Oh, that's a shame. It's such a good goal to have." While Jasmine never really understood the obsession some people seemed to have with crests or marrying into a noble family she supposed that Ciarra's parents had their reasons. Still, she didn't want the other girl to give up on her dreams. "Some knights make it really far in life, you know. It's not the same as marrying a noble but your family could still earn a lot of respect if became a outstanding knight." She smiled though when Ciarra seemed to be excited for their training. "It'll be a useful way to learn, I assure you," she said. "Oh, thanks. I've practised a lot with Hephaestus so I hope we'll be good enough to convince the knights that we're ready."

not me slowly falling in love with julius) Neason-Courtyard-Julius Neason grinned at the notion of causing some entertainment. "I agree on that, would get boring if everything stayed calm and peaceful all the time here," he said. It disapppeared at the last comment. "You are so mean. But I suppose there is some truth behind it," he joked. "No worries no offense taken though! But you can make it up by putting some of that dark magic of yours to use. Sound fair?" Jason-Bridge-Agnar "Hmm could make sense if it brought a disaster," he spoke. With how much praise people with crests got along side the ability to wield a relic, it should be the opposite for crestless trying to use a relic. He took a small note to talk to the other two about this. "Kind of like a safety lock in a way like on chests? Only those with the right skills or tools are able to use the relics? The tool being the crest and the skills being their training?" Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine Ciarra shrugged. "I just think it's due to our background is all," she said. She thought over what Jasmine said. "Maybe I'll mention that in a letter." It seemed like it would be a good way to tell them, without having the risk of interrupting her. "Well if you practiced enough, I'm certain you will pass. Practice makes perfect after all." She took a bite from her food with a small smile, it was rather fun to be talking with Jasmine.

Silke | with Grimm
To keep herself from being forced any lower she brought up her leg and slammed it down on the weapon, pushing it into the ground. From there she pushed off, aiming a solid punch to Grimms shoulder "Underestimating me never turns out well for people, good of you to catch on so early in the fight."
Rekka | with Estelle & Vincent
He nodded and hummed thoughtfully "Some animals like me. Like dogs and cats. But sometimes more skiddish animals like horses tend to run away." he chuckled "I guess it just depends if they are put off by foxes!" he munched on the food he had bought, licking his lips appreciatively at the good taste.

(Haha, now I almost feel bad, Ember. Almost.)
Julius | Courtyard | Neason
"Yeah yeah, I'm the worst, I know," Julius sighed as he crossed his arms and nodded sagely. But he couldn't keep himself from grinning for too long. "Trust me, you don't wanna see that. It's a sorry sight," he laughed. "But sure, why not? If you already have something in mind then out with it. Where's the fun in accidentally wreaking havoc where only few will see it though?" As he joked he was mentally swearing at himself for saying this. If there was something Akakios prided himself in then it was his magic skills that, in his opinion at least, were way superior to those of any surface dweller. Having to pretend to be this inept at it was both frustrating and infuriating. Still, he had to keep up the act as best as he could. Focusing on the conversation at hand he just chuckled, looking both wary and amused. "Heey, whatever you do, you better not ask me to show off my skills during the mock battle. I only cause disaster if everyone gets out alive."
Agnar | Bridge | Jason
"Yes, kinda like that," Agnar said with a small nod. "I suppose that's also the reason why having a crest is such a big deal, at least in Fódlan. Oh, it's pretty important in Albinea too but I heard the people of Fódlan place way more value in it." The people of his village had a pretty relaxed attitude when it came to crests. His family didn't have a higher standing because of it but he couldn't deny that they were respected for it.
Jasmine | Dining Hall | Ciarra
"Your background? What about it?" Jasmine inquired but quickly shook her head. "Not that you have to tell me of course." She then focused on the food again as she listened to Ciarra and nodded. "True. The knights are pretty strict but that just makes me train harder. And I think I've come a long way since I started working with that horse," she said with a fond smile. "Now I can hardly believe how difficult it was at first."
Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
Vincent gave a light chuckle as he tried to decide what food he should try. "Then you certainly shouldn't ride a horse." He briefly glanced over to Rekka as he spoke and then returned his attention to the stands. After a while he decided to try one of the foods he wasn't too familiar with and spent some gold on one of those that were more typical for Faerghus. Then he looked back at the others. "I believe you could try your luck with wyverns though. I highly doubt that they would fear you," he said and then turned to Estelle. "What about pegasi? Do you think they tolerate kitsune?"

Black Eagles | Adora ➳ They continued to walk for a bit longer until Adora noticed what looked to be a relatively high-class inn, signs detailing the menu propped up outside the door. Adora tilted her head toward it curiously. "This one doesn't look too bad," she remarked to Nora, twisting the ends of her red sash between her fingers. "What do you think?" She looked over the menu, spotting a few things she liked. Earlier, they had passed tea houses and more modest-looking restaurants, but she had been looking for something more expensive and so they had moved on.
Black Eagles | Grimm ✧ Grimm let out a sharp bark of laughter instead of a reply. His axe now facing the ground, he used his free arm to attempt to elbow her in the face. This match didn't seem to have a clear winner, both having managed to land blows on each other. Since they hadn't exactly set out any rules or winning conditions, Grimm wasn't sure what constituted victory here. Despite this, he was thoroughly enjoying this fight.
Golden Deer | Estelle ✯ Estelle laughed softly, trying to identify all the foods on display. "Well, if the other pegasi are anything like Astrophel, they will not care who is giving them attention so long as it is indeed given!" She responded and shrugged. "But pegasi are more skittish in general, no? Maybe we should test it out - see whether Astrophel and Tsisana are alright with Rekka?"

Their attacks each landed, forcing each of them to take a step back. Silke grinned wolfishly and placed her hands on her hips "Hmph, I guess we're evenly matched. With the training weapons at least. I'd like to see how we'd match with our own personal weapons." but with those, you could cause lasting damage. It didn't seem likely they'd ever truly see who was best unless something came up like that. Thankfully, for herself, Silke had the confidence and conviction that she was the best and didn't need to prove that.
Rekka | with Estelle & Vincent
"Oh! I'd like that! Though, my feelings might be hurt if they both dislike me." he said in a joking manner. It would be disappointing, but he wouldn't lose sleep over it. That's just how it was for kitsune sometimes "If they're trained for battle though, they might be a bit more brave. But if there is discomfort I'll stay away." even if they could stand him, if they didn't like him he wasn't about to ask for a ride.

Nora | Town | Adora
"Oh, you're right." As she looked over the menu Nora had to agree with Adora's remark. Not a bad choice indeed. Definitely more expensive than some of the other restaurants but looking at the menu and the inn itself she felt that it was justified. "Let's try this one out then!" While she wouldn't have minded one of the modest-looking ones there was nothing wrong with going for something more higher-class once in a while. It wasn't like she would do so every time she would visit the town but today she was more curious about this place.
Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
"We could try that," Vincent agreed with Estelle's suggestion. "Tsisana may be wary of others at first but it's rare for her to outright dislike someone." He nodded at Rekka's other remark. "Perhaps. But even among trained ones there are some more skittish individuals. I doubt that it applies to our mounts though."

naw dont almost feel bad, i adore him being a wolf in sheeps clothing, it adds to my love for him) Neason-Courtyard-Julius Neason grinned to him. 'I make no promises on having you use your magic during the mock battle," he said. "It could come in handy when facing the other houses. Or maybe even before, would be a shame if the other houses were mysteriously unable to participate," he said with a shrug. "Although I suppose the Golden Deer would be the first suspect so..eh. Anyways let's head to the dining hall, I'm sure people there would love to burn off all those calories they just ingested." Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine "It's okay don't worry, not like it is such a big deal. My father is a blacksmith and my mom is a baker," she explained. "We weren't on the wealthy side but they make enough to get by." She listened when the other girl spoke, she had to agree with the comment of the knights being strict. "How difficult was it? if it's alright to ask?" She was generally curious to learn as much as she could of what Jasmine experienced in her own journey. JasonBridgeAgnar "Yea they do seem important here," he agreed. He had heard stories of what people with crests got away with versus someone that was crestless. "It is also seems to be mainly a noble thing, they really put sentiment on crests, but I think it is just due to the relics, I don't really see commoner familes making afuss over crests, though that could just be my village."

Black Eagles | Grimm ✧Grimm relaxed his grip on the axe and brushed a hand through his hair. "I think you're right. Probably best we don't maim each other trying to find out," he said, the corners of his mouth turned up into a smirk. "Thank you for the match." Next time, he would use a lance, see how he faired with his main weapon of choice. "Anyway, princess, I'm sure I've seen you at tournaments before. Win many of those?"

(Okay, no feeling bad then ) Julius | Courtyard | NeasonJulius regarded him for a moment, looking doubtful and amused. "I'm warning you. There's no telling what could happen to the other houses and our own housemates. If you really insist on having me use my magic during the mock battle I won't take any responsibility," he said in a mock threatening voice. "But yeah, we can't take them out before the battle and not look suspicious." At the mention of the dining hall he nodded. "Traumatizing the other students before any of us gets assigned for cooking duty? You're a cruel one," he laughed as they began to walk over to the dining hall. Jasmine | Dining Hall | CiarraNo sooner had Ciarra mentioned her parents' professions Jasmine suddenly sat up straight, barely able to contain her excitement. "A blacksmith! Really?! Ah, sorry. But yes, sounds like it'd be enough to get by." She quickly glanced around to make sure she hadn't been so loud that it would have drawn attention to them. "It's just I'm kind of interested in that line of work too," she then explained with an awkward smile. "Sure, I mostly like to train even in my spare time but I also visit the blacksmith at the marketplace a lot. She's kinda used to it by now, I think. At least she has began to explain a bit about her work to me and even allows me to help with minor tasks." At Ciarra's question she nodded. "Sure, that's fine. If we're only talking about learning how to ride it was really tough at first. Mostly because it's so different from doing everything on foot," she told her. "Even when I got the basics down it was kind of weird to me at first. Probably because I felt like I was less in control when I have to rely on a horse as well. So when it was time to learn how to ride and use a weapon effectively I messed up a lot." She shook her head as she gave a quiet laugh. "I kept trying to move like I was still fighting on foot. Needless to say I couldn't win any training matches that way. And I'm pretty sure I confused Hephaestus as well. Poor thing didn't know where to put his hooves next with me acting out like that." For a moment she looked thoughtful, trying to figure out when and why exactly they had started to improve. "I can't really say when we began to make some progress but I guess it was at least partly because we were both tired of failing at everything we tried. But once we had built up some mutual trust and understanding training had gotten easier." Agnar | Bridge | Jason"Hm. It sure is a big deal for the nobility." Agnar thought back to what he had heard from his father's friend, an inn-keeper in the harbour town where they usually traded their goods with some from Fódlan. He had also heard a couple things from the other guests there, most had been from the kingdom. "I heard that quite a few nobles see it as disgraceful if one of their children doesn't have a crest." It felt weird to him. Sure, there were some people like that in Albinea too but as far as he was concerned having a crest and the ability to wield a relic didn't make him feel any more capable than other people. Not that he could say so in front of Jason. Criticizing the way the people of Fódlan ran things probably wasn't a good idea. "But speaking of the commoners with crests, don't some families try to marry their children off to noble families? At least that's what some people in Faerghus say. So I wouldn't really know if it's true." ( Sussuru Sure, let's do that. Unless either of them has dreadful table manners we can leave them for a while)

"'Course I have, who do you think you're talking to? If I enter a competition there's a high chance I'm going to be the one winning it! No one takes training and battle as seriously as I do." she said confidently, brushing her short hair back and dusting some dirt off her pants "I don't think we've ever fought before though, I think I'd remember someone as skilled as you. Unless this skill is a new thing." she laughed.

He nodded "Seems like we have a plan for when we next get time off." the kitsune finished off the food he'd gathered and tossed aside the remains into a nearby bin "What else do you guys want to take a look at? Neason-Courtyard->Dining Hall-Julius "We could always frame another house and make it seem like they did it to each other," he commented, but soon shook his head dismissing his on statement, it still would make the Golden Deer look suspicious. Neason's face darkened a bit at the mention of their housemates possibly getting hurt with the magic. "Maybe we shouldn't let you use magic for the mock battle than," he said scratching at his cheek. The look left his face as fast as it drew over it. He grinned at the last comment that the other boy made. "Trust me they will be traumatized whenever I am on cooking duty, might as well get it over with now! Or at the very least give them an idea of what to expect" I'll get the other two responses up in the morning it is almost midnight for me hope that is okay Pineclaw!)

Black Eagles | Grimm ✧ Grimm nodded approvingly. It was especially fitting considering the fact that his father, Count Hesper, was responsible for organising many of the Empire's tournaments. "Heh, well, I'll take the compliment." They certainly hadn't fought before, that much was true for Grimm hadn't been allowed to participate in tournaments until recent. It would have looked odd if the Minister of Military Affairs had allowed not one, but two of his sons to compete after all. "Guess I should consider myself lucky that I held my own."
Golden Deer | Estelle ✯ Estelle didn't mind where they went, it was all interesting to her. "Is it true that we will be learning how to command battalions?" She mused, her gaze wandering over to the stall where the recruiter stood. "That sounds difficult." It made sense to learn it as some students would end up being part of an army or one of the Knights of Seiros.

(Yeah, no problem, Ember, no need to rush ^^)
Julius | Courtyard -> Dining Hall | Neason
"Oh, don't worry, I haven't actually harmed people with it, only everything around them" Julius hurried to explain upon seeing Neason's expression. "But yeah, I wouldn't want to take any chances until I learn to control it better. I'll just use a sword or an axe for offence and white magic and dancing to support y'all, how's that sound?" He didn't exactly enjoy relying on Faith Magic but he had to hide his disdain for it. But at least he didn't have to hide his difficulties with it completely, everyone would just assume that magic in general wasn't his forte. At the other boy's self-deprecating remark he shook his head and laughed. "Remind me and the rest of our class to stock up on antitoxins then. I hope they actually sell them at the marketplace," he chuckled. "I'm sure it won't be that bad. But I guess everyone deserves a fair warning. Sooo... would your cooking throw people out of their seats? Does it instil fear into their very souls? Would it be a ground-shaking experience?" He winked as he spoke, showing that he didn't mean it as an actual jab as Neason's skills or lack thereof. "Gotta know what would prepare them most effectively."
Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
"We could take a look at just about anything. None of us has had a chance to see everything yet," Vincent suggested. "It'd be good to know what everyone is selling. I'm sure we will come back here quite a lot." He followed Estelle's gaze to the stall where they would be hiring battalions sooner or later and nodded. "I think so. It's one of the things we will have to learn here. But since there has been no mention of it so far I assume we won't be getting to it before next month." He wouldn't be surprised if they would learn to command battalions even later than that but at the same time he hoped that they would start soon enough. As for taking command and accepting the responsibility that came with it he was sure he could handle it. He wouldn't take it lightly but he wasn't too worried either. Most nobles would probably be at least somewhat prepared for it. He had his doubts about the commoners though. Most of them had no real reason to learn about strategy and leadership, at least in his mind, so they'd probably have a lot of trouble with it. At Estelle's remark about it being difficult Vincent gave a slight nod. "Perhaps, but they won't expect the impossible of us. They will make sure that we are ready for it." Then he glanced over to Rekka, curious what someone who not only was a commoner but also a kitsune thought about commanding battalions. "What about you, Rekka? Do you think you could command one?"

Neason-Courtyard->Dining Hall-Julius Neason gave a nod. "Sounds like a good idea," he agreed with him. He laughed at the last few comments. "I think the marketplace would, and if they don't there, you guys could always try shopping down in the town." He stretched his arms over his head as they walked to the dining hall. "But as for my cooking skills, I don't think it would cause all that, it's just I seem to set fire to anything I try and cook." Even when it doesn't involve fire to cook. He thought, keeping that part of the comment to himself. Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine Ciarra jumped a bit at the girl's reaction to what her parents did. She listened to Jasmine as she talked about the blacksmith in the marketplace, waiting to ask her further questions, as the girl changed to talking about her training with her horse. "If you weren't going to be a knight would you have become a blacksmith instead," she asked when the other girl had finished talking. "You seem to have an interest for it. And it's good that you were able to get the hang of riding over time. I can imagine hat it would be different compared to being on foot, since like you said you won't be in full control, as horses are living beings and will tend to have a mind of their own." Jason-Bridge-Agnar Jason listened to the other boy speak. it seemed that Albinea and at least Faerghus were quite similar. He thought over the last question that had been directed at him when the boy was done speaking. "That tends to happen yea, some nobles are willing to do it, in the event one of their kids are crestless they will marry that child to the commoner, at least from what I have seen, but there have been a few cases were they married their child with a crest to a commoner with a crest. Though not all nobles are willing to do it, as they don't want the risk of the kid not inheriting the family crest."

Silke | with Grimm
She hummed in agreement, pulling off the gauntlets and flexing her hands. She didn't quite like the practice ones, they felt too light "Indeed. Fortunately for you, we can practice as much as we want now that we area attending the same school. I'll be glad to practice against someone that can match me." it was only a few days in and she'd already found two people that were going to be good to practice against! This was great news and she was excited!
Rekka | with Estelle & Vincent
Rekka wrinkled his nose a bit at the thought "I'm not sure I'd be the one for the job, seems like a job with a lot of things to keep track of." he got distracted easily, asking him to order around a battalion was just asking for trouble "I think you two could do it though! You both have a good presence." he nodded with a friendly grin. They were both very different people, but there was something about them that drew attention. He noticed it in many of the students here. They were a different breed to many of the people he'd met before.

Black Eagles | Grimm ✧ Grimm set his axe back into the weapon rack with a twirl of the handle. "Likewise," he agreed. "I just hope the other houses aren't resting on their laurels. That would make a pretty disappointing win." He didn't necessarily think it would be easy to win the mock battle. Nonetheless, there had been nothing to knock his confidence thus far.

Julius | Dining Hall | Neason
Julius grinned and snorted in disbelief. "Anything? Even salad?" he joked. "I don't know who will be paired up with you for kitchen duty but I sure hope they're good at damage control." Either way, he definitely had to think of something for when people like Neason were in charge of making the food. If those surface dwellers managed to poison one another without even trying that would suit him just fine but becoming collateral damage was definitely out of the question. His cheerful expression betraying nothing he looked up as they now stood in front of the dining hall. "Well, looks like we're here. Wanna grab a bite first before I uh... 'practice'?"
Jasmine | Dining Hall | Ciarra
Jasmine nodded at Ciarra's words. "It sure is a big change but once you get the hang of it it'll be worth all the trouble," she confirmed. Then she took a moment to ponder over the other girl's question. "I guess so. If I had spent more time at the marketplace during my first days here I probably would have focused on nothing else. Sometimes I wonder if I want to learn under the blacksmith instead but I've come too far to just go and change my mind. Besides..." her expression grew more serious and determined for a brief second. "There are things I wouldn't be able to do if I became a blacksmith. I wish I could do both but I really doubt it would work out well."
Agnar | Bridge | Jason
Agnar nodded as Jason confirmed what he had heard. "They sure love their crests, huh." He sighed and shook his head, this time not bothering with hiding his dislike for this. "Don't get me wrong, I understand that it makes perfect sense to them. Especially for commoners, if they see an opportunity to have a better life. But it feels kinda wrong that they use their own children like that," he said and gave a rueful smile. "Probably not the kind of thing I should be saying as an outsider. Mind if we keep this between us?"

Neason-Dining Hall-Julius Neason gave a grin and a nod. "Yep," he said, confirming that yes he could set a salad on fire, somehow. "Hopefully you are right, though I feel after some time our professor would ban me from the kitchen all together, or at the very least make sure there's adult supervision in the kitchen with who ever I get paired with." He never knew why things set on fire every time he cooked, but it happened. It got to the point he had been banned from entering the kitchen at all back at his parent's place. He looked at Julius as he thought over his question. "Sure I could eat!" Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine "Maybe in another life you will be able to become a blacksmith," she offered. "Or when you retire from being a knight, you could always pick up blacksmith work then." She knew it was rare for knights to retire at a decent age where it would be pliable to be able to go into another profession, but she didn't know what Jasmine had planned out for her knight career apart from what she had already previously shared. Jason-Bridge- Agnar"Of course," he said, offering a smile. He wouldn't share this with the other housemates, but the other spies, he felt this would be good to share with them. "But don't worry I see where you are coming from. That they are using their children to get what they want and disregarding what they might want. Though I suppose I have no place to be speaking on it either with me being a crestless commoner." I'll get the other two up in a bit, my breakfast is done cooking)

Golden Deer | Estelle ✯ Estelle hummed thoughtfully, nodding as she listened to him speak. At Rekka's remark that she and Vincent had presence, she waved her hands graciously as if to dismiss the compliment. "You think so? I do not know if I can imagine myself commanding, well, anything really! Thank you though." She smiled at the two of them and gestured emphatically toward Vincent. "In any case, you are right about Vincent! He has the bearing of a true noble!" She did like the idea of working in a team, and leading a battalion couldn't be too far away from that, but it was a lot of responsibility.

Julius | Dining Hall | Neason
"Maybe they could just let you cook on rare occasions? Anyway, you'll have to convince them that you're not doing it on purpose to get out of kitchen duty," Julius mused, still with a slight grin. "I just hope you're the only bad cook here. Imagine every class having someone who would manage to burn every food." He laughed and shook his head. "Don't feel bad about your cooking though, you being in the kitchen is just as bad as me being around horses, pegasi and wyverns." He nodded when Neason agreed to eat something first and walked over to the line of hungry students. As he did so a tried to catch a glimpse of what they were serving today and shrugged. Nothing he was crazy about but nothing he disliked either.
Jasmine | Dining Hall | Ciarra
Jasmine shrugged but nodded at that. "Maybe. For now I'll just keep things the way they are. No point obsessing over something that can't be changed. As for you, I hope you can come to an agreement with your parents," she said. She briefly shifted her attention to her meal again but still glanced at Ciarra. "Anyway, are you looking forward to the missions? Not only are you learning a lot from them but you also get to see many places and you'll be helping the people of Fódlan one way or another. Sometimes you're even getting accompanied by us when it's important or risky enough."
Agnar | Bridge | Jason
"Thanks. Everyone I met has been welcoming so far but I doubt they'd like it if I openly criticized the way their country's society works," Agnar replied with a chuckle and a thankful smile. At Jason mentioning of being a crestless commoner he nodded. "Maybe. But crestless or foreigner, we can still tell if something like that seems unjust to anyone who's being used for it." He wondered if he should have put it differently, realizing that he had only referred to Jason as crestless. Then again it wouldn't really matter if Jason had understood the implication. In the days to come there would be plenty of training and battles where Agnar would make use of his crest, whether he wanted to or not. So there probably was no need to keep it secret as everyone would find out soon enough anyway, especially after he had spoken so casually of it to Luca the day before.
Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
Vincent nodded at Rekka's words of it being something where one would have to keep track of many things. It would be far from easy but that was to be expected. He gave a quiet chuckle and sincere smile when the kitsune told him and Estelle that they had a 'good presence', and shook his head with a short laugh as his friend gestured towards him. "Why, thank you. If you do believe so," he said with an amused glint in his eyes. "You are right though, there is much to keep in mind if you are going to command a battalion. But as I said, I think that they will make sure that we are sufficiently prepared." As they walked past the blacksmith's stand he nodded to her and gave a polite greeting, then he turned to look at Rekka. "The kitsune don't have much use for weapons, do they?" he asked and stepped aside a little so Rekka could have a better view of the blacksmith working on what seemed to be a lance. "So there probably aren't many blacksmiths where you live, if any at all."

Neason-Dining Hall-Jason "You have a point. Maybe there is, and let's be lucky that we won't have to do jobs with anyone from other houses unless they switch, just think to bad cooks in the kitchen though, people will be starving all day," he said, following Julius into the line. He looked to what was being served, wasn't his favorite thing to eat, but hopefully when they get closer he can see hat else is being served for the day. "What did you do to make them hate you so much?" Ciarra-Dining Hall-Jasmine Ciarra gave anod. "Thanks, I hope I can," she said in regards to her parents. A grin flashed across her face. "Yea I am looking forward to the missions, I kind of hope we visit some of the places i went to when i was a squire." A smile on her face as she finished off her meal. "I ant to be able to learn as much as I can from them." She would get to be out on the front lines in the battle instead of being side lined, and she wanted to make the experience matter. Jason-Bridge-Agnar "it's good you have been meeting friendly people so far, I know some in Fodlan can be abit hesitant to people from the neighboring countries," he said to him. He thought over what Agnar said in regards to crests. "I suppose it can be handy being of being like this, it could help make things change maybe, since we won't have a biases." He didn't mind being referred to as a crestless as it was true, he had no crest and 'crestless' was just another term for him. I'll get the other two up in a bit keep nodding off so im going to go grab coffee)

Silke | with Grimm
She nodded with agreement, "They'd better not, I'd be disappointed. But I've interacted with some students from other classes and they seem like they'll be a fun fight. At the very least." she said with a grin. Unlike the other, Silke was practically convinced that the Black Eagles would be winning this fight easily.
Rekka | with Estelle & Vincent
He shook his head "Nope, not really. I mean, we have some that are knowledgeable in the art. But other than simple fixes and simple weapons they didn't do much." fixing a knife or saw was much different than fixing something like a longsword or battle axe. Rekka was sure they could, but the specialty wasn't there.

Black Eagles | Grimm ✧ Grimm nodded briefly and cracked his knuckles. Now that he'd had his fill of battle-training, he was starting to feel hungry. "Good to hear," he responded. The mock battle was still a way away so there wasn't much point in talking about it at length. "Right, well, you won't mind if I excuse myself."
Golden Deer | Estelle ✯ Estelle listened to the conversation though she didn't have much interest in weapons. Not the physical sort anyway, tomes were much more her speed. "I know little of weaponry, but, I have to admit, I am terribly curious about the magics of Morfis. They sound much more advanced than what we have here!" She thought about the magical metropolis, hoping she'd get to visit one day. "Do you know any magic-users, Rekka?"

Vincent | Marketplace | Estelle, Rekka
Vincent nodded at Estelle's inquiry. While he wasn't all that interested in practicing magic himself he was somewhat curious about it. "Ah, yes. They do have quite a reputation for that," he said. "I heard impressive things about the magic the people of Morfis possess." As they moved on to the next stand he kept glancing over at Estelle and Rekka, curious about what the kitsune could tell them.
Julius | Dining Hall | Neason
Julius shrugged at Neason's question. "I dunno. Horses are just bullies, I guess," he snorted. "Pegasi and wyverns aren't too bad but I'm no good at flying. Or even horseback-riding. Makes me queasy, you know." He gave a quiet laugh. "Warp-magic is even worse. Last time someone tried that on me... well, the mage I trained with said it was the saddest thing he'd seen all year." To his annoyance it was no exeggaration, he was terrible at handling transportation of that sort. For once he was grateful that he couldn't show off his true skills during his stay. He wanted to avoid having to teleport as much as he could. Sometimes he wondered if he was the only person in existance who got motion-sick from that. In order to keep up his act however he just laughed it off. "Honestly, I hope no one will ever have to cast Warp or Rescue on me." They finally got to grab some food for themselves and Julius decided to go with today's special. "Enough about that though. So... me and horses. I learned not to trust them. Everytime I had to deal with them they were just big ole meanies. One always tried to bite me, another one loved to walk up to me whenever I stood near the brook or on anything small one could fall off of. Know what that jerk did then? Lowered its head and then showed me with it. I'm telling you, we're natural enemies or something."
Jasmine | Dining Hall | Ciarra
"I'm sure you will. And if it's not for one of the bigger missions you also get to do smaller tasks around Fódlan," Jasmine told her. "There's a good chance you'll end up visiting one of those places." She sat her plate aside after she had finished her meal. "Oh, right. Did you only travel around one nation or did you get to see some glimpses of the Empire and the Kingdom too? Your house will mainly focus on the Alliance of course but every class gets a mission or two in the other nations as well."
Agnar | Bridge | Jason
"That's true. Even if they're not being openly hostile I'm sure some people here aren't too happy about me and the others," Agnar said. He gave a wry smile and snorted. "Calling it now, if something happens we'll be the first suspects for them." At Jason's next remark he nodded. "You might be right. If nothing else it gives us a different outlook on things so we might come up with solutions for problems the others wouldn't think of. Who knows? They might even listen. Fion seems like a reasonable guy at least. Oh, right," he paused, wondering how Jason got along with the rest of their class. "What do you think of our class so far? They seem to be easy to get along with from what I've seen."
