Leopardpaw looked down and sighed, giving in. "Maybe your right. I should go back. Thanks again for saving me." She seemed a bit nervous but tried to brush it off.

Suddenly, it was as if Monster was pulled out of a daze, and her shields went up. "Hah, what, you care about a stranger? In all my moons, I've never seen that before." She burst out, her tone utterly rude with a feeling of superiority to it. "Thanks, but I could have taken that beast without you." She lied, then started grooming her fur, as if to brush off dirt.

"Again, it's no problem," Icepaw replied, noticing her slight nervousness. "Let's head back." Icepaw started towards camp, looking back at Leopardpaw and waiting for her to walk with him.

She glared at the tom with distrust. She didn't like anyone, and someone so willing to help another was definitely someone to be weary about.

Icepaw looked around the forest as he padded back, enjoying the silence of the night. He recovered his mouse from his earlier hunt, keeping it in his mouth on the way back.

As they arrived in camp, Icepaw set his mouse down in the pile. He shivered slightly, his fur still wet from the river. He turned to face Leopardpaw and asked, "You sure you're okay?"

Monster responded with nothing more than a hiss, her body now in a crouched position, prepared to spring at any needed time. "Why'd you come out here? It can't be just cause you were worried about some ol' cat in the forest?"

"Night," Icepaw replied, attempting to step out of her way as she brushed by him. He twitched his whiskers slightly, then headed towards a corner of the camp where he gathered some moss to sleep on. He enjoyed sleeping outside on warms nights such as this one. Icepaw laid down and closed his eyes, sighing.

Leopardpaw entered the apprentices den and curled up in her nest right beside the entrance so that she could see the stars through the undergrowth still.
