[[ ghost lamp falle returns it appears ]]
[[ Tumblingpaw & Ticklepaw w/ Barkpaw & Cinderpaw // Early Afternoon // Camp - - "Yup!" the small she-cat chirped, with just as much enthusiasm. "Ooooh, that sounds like fun!" Ticklepaw looked at Cinderpaw and rolled her eyes. "Well duh, of course we're the greatest ever." She meowed, as if it was clearly that obvious. When Barkpaw whispered in her ear she gave a giggle. Tumblingpaw couldn't help but give a chuckle, catching what the apprentice had said to his sister. When Cinderpaw snapped at them, Ticklepaw giggled ever more whereas Tumblingpaw quickly looked down in embarrassment. Ticklepaw gave a little hiccup again before speaking. "I dunno what we can do now," she replied, giving a shrug. "I'm up for anything." Tumblingpaw glanced at the three other apprentices. "I'm fine with whatever you guys want to do..." He added quietly. The tom was more of the go-with-the-flow kind of cat, the follower rather than the leader. = = = = =
[[ Pineconebristle & Redberry // Early Afternoon // Forest of Unfortunate Circumstances - - Ah, what another beautiful day in Mistclan. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, a cool gentle breeze was billowing by. Who could ask for more on such a day like this? Pineconebristle was content with the weather, taking the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful weather the afternoon gave. The spiky-furred dark brown tom was enjoying a leisurely walk alone in the forest. He wasn't out on a patrol, he wasn't out hunting. Really he just wasn't doing anything useful to the Clan at the moment. He wasn't needed for anything, so he simple took the time to set off on his own and do what his heart desired. A nice walk it was, peaceful and quiet. Serenity practically flowing through himโ The sound of a snap followed by a yowlโof some sorts, it was hard to tell what exactly the cry wasโbroke through. Pineconebristle paused for a moment, ears perked and alert. He briskly padded towards where he had heard the sound, and soon found its origin. Upon his destination he found a russet colored cat laying on the ground, groaning. He quickly identified the cat as Redberry, and the poor thing did't seem to be in a good shape at the moment judging by his position. Pineconebristle looked around briefly and found a low branch not to far in front of the warrior, which appeared the be moving still ever so lightly, andโwas that a mouse? It appeared to be a mouse, though it was a bit too far out to identify at the momet. He looked down at the tom, who was still laying there in defeat. "It appears you had held your head a little too high, hmm?" he purred, his voice laced with amusement. "I hope the branch hadn't hit your head too hard there my good friend." At that part, he sounded a bit more sincere than amused. By the sound of it, almost literally, it seemed that Redberry had hit the branch rather well.

Roastpaw & Soupypaw{ early afternoon // forest }Rosepaw seethed as Sunnypawโs incessant yammering grew louder and louder until she was in her ear with her voice of colorful sunshine and chirping glee. For a moment, he wondered if rain could even touch her. No really, if it werenโt to start raining right this instant would a single drop even touch her pelt, or would it burn up in the overwhelming ball of pure Sunnypaw before even touching her? He mulled over the question silently, trying his best to ignore her untilโ
โListen, Sunnypaw, if you go and catch a wren right now, right this very instant, I will be your best friend forever. No, for eternity. I will be your best friend in StarClan and the life after. But if you donโt then shut up and. Leave. Me. A. Lone. Got it? Did that get through that thick skull of yours?โ Rosepaw was shaking. Positively quivering with contained rage. He was certain that issuing a challenge would get rid of her, at least for a little bit. No doubt she would return later, practically vibrating with energy and undeterred by her loss.
Regardless, it was sure to buy Rosepaw at least a few moments of peace and quiet and that was all he could ask for when it came to Sunnypaw.
Best case scenario, the ginger-and-white she-cat stumbled across a brand new distraction and he was rid of her for the better part of the afternoon. Maybe even the day!
Worst case, she didnโt take the bait.
The pines and spruces began to thin, giving way to the bright-leafed aspens that signalled their approach to the lake. The soft, whispering needles beneath his paws were soon replaced with crunching leaf litter and thick undergrowth. Rosepaw picked his way expertly through this. Ducking beneath a felled tree. Skirting around an overgrown brambled with snarled limbs. Hopping over a stray, moss-covered boulder. It was easier to block out Sunnypawโs endless rambling when there were obstacles to overcome and something to put his focus into besides simply walking.
The forest surrounding the lake thrummed with life. A symphony of it. Insects hummed and chirred, hidden in the summer thicket. Birds added their own voices to the chorus, their songs mingling with the insects and the gentle sigh of the breeze. It would be easy to find prey here. Or, it should have been, had it not been for the menace that was Sunnypaw. Sunnypaw - Early Afternoon - Nearing Lake Trembling With the sudden prospect of a challenge sparkling in her flashing blue eyes, it was obvious in the sudden stop of noise that this little test- this gamble of relations- had more than just caught her interest. This was a game that she was just bold enough to take, because it was just that: a game. Sunnypaw was a game playing, risk taking addict; and how could she pass up an opportunity like this when it posed such a tantalizing reward?
So with her whiskers quivering with excitement, the she-cat suddenly lashed her tail, and meowed in her most determined voice- "You're on!" And that was all she said before she was suddenly bolting into the surrounding trees, leaving nothing but a spray of angry pine needles and fluttering leafs in her wake. Now she just had to find a wren, and believe it or not, she knew just where to look. Apparently, her hollow hunting escapade from earlier hadn't been for nothing after all.
Hopping over fallen trees and thorny tangles, the she-cat was suddenly a streak of color among pale trunk-ed trees and heat dried bracken. Like a blaze of fire, she tore through the landscape and tore across the ground beneath her; yet upon nearing her desired location, she suddenly simmered to a slow creep, with her paws quiet and movements nimble. Yes, in spite of her scattered focus, which was as jumbled and quick as the bird she was looking for, Sunnypaw was a trained cat, and at least knew the basics of how to be quiet while hunting.
Now if you were to rewind through Sunnypaw's day, and stop just at the part where she had been about to get herself lodged in a tree, you would spot a particular nest, with a particular sound coming from it. The nest of a common House Wren; she hadn't paid it much attention when she had spotted it earlier, earlier, but now it stood out like the red of a fox in her mind.
It was this nest that she was now creeping up upon, and it seemed that luck was on her side when she spotted what hopped on the ground beneath it.
It took her just a flash of a moment to get the job done.
With her prize clamped between two firm jaws, the apprentice felt like her delight might spill over in a fit of yowls at any moment as she charged back the way she came, this time not caring if she woke the whole forest or destroyed a small plant or two. Rosepaw was going to be so surprised-- she couldn't wait to show him that yes indeed, she could hunt just as well as the next cat!
"Rosepaw!" She called around the drab, feathered creature she held as she finally caught scent of the tom. Following the familiar smell (though with a struggle considering she had the scent of wren practically suffocating her), the ginger tabby careened through the trees until she was practically atop the tom, and soon, she spotted a familiar pelt. Leaping out from a cluster of sun-baked ferns, the she-cat suddenly came to a halting stop before her fellow MistClan apprentice, with her breath huffing from her throat, and her pelt a wild mess of excitement as she displayed her catch like a proud, love-struck mother.
"Guess who caught a wren?!"

Meadowfrost {& Cloudstreak} | early afternoon in the big brother warriors' den |
Nothing says 'waking up peacefully' like rising to the panicked screams of your Clanmates. ...Right?
Springing to her feet in an instant - and accidentally giving some cat behind her a bit of a kicking in the process of unwrapping herself from the nests of her snoozing Clanmates, Meadowfrost's usually sleek and smooth fawn tabby fur was already on end, sharpened claws unsheathed. Her eyes searched Cloudstreak's face, trying to figure out where his eyes were - where the fabled snake lay.
"Snake?! WHERE?!" she shrieked - and at an impressive level of both volume and shrillness, might I add. Of course there's a snake in the den now! The ONE time I take a sun-high nap! "I'll be bitten in the face! Scarred for life, probably! Does nobody check for snake nests in our dens?! They're probably multiplying like- like rabbits! Big snakes with nests full of teeny tiny slithery snakes, slithering around while we sleep and- and... slithering!" Her tail lashed fiercely behind her, though whether she was fired up by the idea of the one potential snake that Cloudstreak woke them up for, or about the new - and even less likely - concept of sleeping on the nests of young snakes? Who knows. The flea-brained thing about it was, that Meadowfrost wasn't really even afraid of snakes. If you dared her to jump into a den full of snakes, she'd probably do it - if only just to prove that she could and would. Maybe it was just the slithering she had something against.

Roastpaw & Soupypaw{ early afternoon // lake trembling }
A breath of true relief slid from Rosepaw as the she-cat darted off, having accepted his challenge. Left in her place was exactly what the young tom had been hoping for. Delicious, sap-sweet peace and silence. If his ancestors in StarClan loved him, they wouldnโt let that useless lump of fur catch even an ant.
With that reassurance in mind, Rosepaw continued on toward Lake Trembling, each pawstep more confident than the last. Who knew? Maybe heโd have enough time to get a drink and bolt before Sunnypaw had a chance to track him down. If she even had the attention span for such a task.
The lake came into view slowly and then all at once. Glimpses and peeks. Shards of blue glittering in between the slivers of tree trunks. The quiet drone of water lapping lazily at the shore. And then it was all there. Rosepaw stepped out from the treeline, pausing only briefly to take in the lake that sprawled before him. A vast expanse of dewy silver hemmed in by white-trunked forest, a shivering image of said-forest tattooed across Lake Tremblingโs surface. Rosepawโs whiskers twitched at the sight, his tail tip flicking in an almost-irritable manner.
He picked his way carefully down to the lakeshore, smooth-edged stones clacking and sliding beneath his paws. The waterโs edge was different up close. Flat silver slid away to diamond-sharp clarity, allowing the young tom to examine lightning paced minnows darting over a mosaic of glossy pebbles that inhabited the lakebed. Careful to keep from dipping even a toe into the water, Rosepaw crouched, taking a few generous laps of water. Not much, just enough to ease the rasp in his throat and slake his thirst.
The heat still pressed like a sweaty hand against his pelt, but itโs weight had eased with the added coolness of the breeze that sighed over the lake.
The sound of his nameโ albeit muffled and distant โwas enough to pull the apprentice from his quiet reverie. Tipping his head curiously, he turned around andโ
StarClan had abandoned him.
The tomโs ear twitched, pupils dilating with shock and horror. He had been wrong. The worst case scenario was not that she would deny his challenge, but that she would complete it. And she had. Rosepaw hadnโt even realized heโd gotten to his paws till he was circling her, staring skeptically at the wren as though it were fake. It had to be. There was no way sheโd caught one so quickly.
โHow?โ The question was a low hiss, more snarl than word, โHow did you catch one so quickly!? Put it down! Let me see this rotten bird!โ His ancestors had forsaken him, left him to this torturous fate. There was no way this lump of scruff and burrs had caught a wren. She was delusional!
โฆ Or he was delusional. The tomโs glacial gaze slid to the sky, bleached white and wavering in the heat haze.

Redberry {& Pineconebristle} | early afternoon in the forest of killer trees |
Redberry's eyes slid over to look at the source of the new voice - though he recognised his fellow warrior's voice well enough.
"I got too confident! It's a punishment! Trees hate me! And it wasn't even a big bad old tree - it's like- the apprentice of trees! The kit of trees!" the russet tom wailed dramatically, and flung a paw out in his momentary distress to give the little sapling a taste of its own medicine. His paw his uncomfortably hard (and with yet another rather painful-sounding noise) against the trunk, and drew it away with a yelp. Quickly, he dug out a little splinter of bark from his paw paw, and rolled to his feet quite gingerly. The young warrior gave his body a shake - and winced as his head ached in complaint to the violent movement.
Still, despite all this, his eyes were bright and cheerful, and his tail was back up and waving merrily in the air practically instantly.
"I've decided I'm never hunting again," he announced to Pineconebristle, and made a mental note that he would beg Tawnybee, or Heavystar, or StarClan itself, to send him out on anything, anything at all, so long as nobody made him get attacked by a tree again. "Did I ever tell you about my assessment before I became a warrior, Pineconebristle? It was carnage. I was stalking this mouse, right, and- wait! My mouse! Did you see my mouse? I swear I had a mouse; I actually caught it. Okay, it was a flea-brained mouse because it practically ran straight into my paws, but- no wait, I wasn't going to tell anybody that. Tell no-one," he finished in a loud whisper, with a conspirator's grin on his face. Forgetting both his tree-related woes and his story, he fidgeted on his feet with his nose to the ground, trying to scent out his beloved mouse. He'd developed a large attachment to the flea-sized creature. Maybe it would make some sense if this was Redberry with the effects of a tree-thwacked head, but really, it was just Redberry being Redberry. Also affectionately known as Redberry acting as though he had the brain of the fuzzy little creature he was now trying to re-find.
