Opalmist sighed, shaking her head "Definitely not. I'd never seen Cedarstar look so angry before. Even Starrylight looked surprised at his actions. One of Cherryvine's kits showed interest in being medicine cat though. Her name was Mistkit. I'm sure she'll fill my spot when she's old enough. She was sneaking into our den at 2 moons." Opalmist mewed rather fondly. "Cherryvine, she was my niece. Mistkit was named partially after the cat that raised me, Softmist. Cherryvine's grandmother. She died many moons ago though... she sacrificed the prey given to her to the nursing queens and withered away." Opalmist shook her head, looking up at Frostyfoot guiltily. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought the conversation down so much. There's just so much I never got to tell you about me. And I don't actually know that much about you either. We have the time now. I want to know everything."

Nightmare shot after Harlow at Rocco's call and lashed out with her front paws, aiming for Harlow's legs. She kept a sharp eye out for any movement from Shadow, knowing how sneaky her brother could be if you took your eyes off of him for even a second. Harlow gave a deep growl as she saw Nightmare lunge for her legs. She tried to step back, and while she was not tripped, Nightmare did get a sharp strike on her legs. Luckily, Shadow was quick to take the window to dart around his sparring sisters and slip between Rocco's paws with an intense amount of speed. Rocco gasped, quickly using his body weight to fall down and pin the black tom. Shadow slipped out from between his paws, having lost the opportunity to trip him due to the unexpected use of his body weight. "Teamwork is the goal here." Farland commanded, frowning at the four young cats. "You're fighting like you're having two separate battles. You need to have one."

I want to know everything." Frostyfoot listened to each word with a respectful silence and amazement in his gaze. Her final words are what sparked his reaction. He moved to press himself close to her, mewing. "You're right. All this time, the short moments we had together at the border, I knew then that I loved you. But, I didn't know all of you yet. I wanted to so badly, back then. The way you spoke, the way you saw the world... you drew me in, and I can never go back now. But, I'm glad. Because getting to finally know all of you? That's the most exciting adventure I could ever ask for." He stepped back, giving a warm look. "Mistkit, if anything like you, will be a wonderful medicine cat then... I was born during the middle of Adderclan's reign. By the end of it, I was an apprentice conditioned to keep my head down until we could finally rise up to join the Clans in taking down Robinstar... She was the first leader I ever knew, but my mother and father were brave. Viperstrike and Springsong, those were their names. They stayed in Skyclan to protect me and Redspring, and defied Robinstar at every turn they could. In the end... they both lost their lives during a battle, when the cliff face collapsed. They took a few followers down with them, and they died heroes." He blinked at the memory, missing them dearly. "Redspring and I swore then that we would do what we could to honor them. Redspring asked to be named after our mother. She... Redspring is the greatest sister I could have ever asked for. My only regret, is not telling her the truth about us before it came out the way it did." He started.

Opalmist pressed against him, "Redspring and your parents sound wonderful, strong warriors to look up to. I hope Redspring can find it in her heart to forgive us for not telling her. I never told my brother Bumbleskip either. Starclan.. he was in the medicine cat den unconscious when I left for the gathering. I never got to say goodbye. I'm sure there are many cats you didn't get to say goodbye to either. We left so quickly. I wish it could have been different, but I don't regret being here with you now."

Frostyfoot looked at Opalmist with heavy eyes, though he agreed with her completely. They couldn't regret it, certainly not now. Instead, they could make a new life together. He nodded. "Redspring is hard-headed and by the code... but she has a fierce love that is hard to break. I'm sorry about Bumbleskip. I hope he forgives you too." He swallowed. "It's Dreamlily's response that hurt the most. Our kits were amazing, you know. So much like you, clever and strong... They are what I am going to miss the most. One day... I hope they can meet you, as their mother. But Echowing, I fear her heart may be gone with her anger, and I fear that it is my fault, what she will become." He rasped.

Captain snorted, rolling his eyes as he rubbed against his housefolk's leg, earing some scratching behind his ears for a moment. Satisfied, he padded back out to the porch. "Sure, but that was ages ago. I was a younger tom then," he mewed, sitting down and looking at the treetops that showed over the edge of his fence where it bordered the forest. "My housefolk and I live farther away then, and I wandered my way all the way over here. I was very adventurous in those days!" His eyes took on a far away look, as if he were remembering something. "There was a forest cat I met, and she helped me make my way back to the town. I doubt I'll see her again, but..." “Ohhh, you fancied her, eh? I can tell. What was her name? Maybe I can recognize some forest cats, eh?” Fiona asked, now enriched in wanting to know Captain’s long lost flame. Captain flushed, lashing his tail as he looked away. "I wouldn't say that!" he said quickly. "She was kind, and helpful, and maybe even pretty! And-" He narrowed his eyes at Fiona. "Oh, don't give me that look! I was young, of course I fancied her!" He plopped down, tucking his paws under himself again. "I'm terrible...I'm not sure I remember her name perfectly. It was Berry something, I think? Berryclouds?" he shrugged. "Who knows if she'd even out there still.

Just keep their attention on you and off me, sound like a plan?”

Suki stroked her tail down Lacey's back beside her, settling herself as the cat seemed to be friendly. "Hello, my name is Suki, this is my daughter Lacey and the two down there are Felix and Remi. I haven't been down to the forest in quite a while, but my mate Indigo goes out to hunt there every few days. Be mindful of the clan borders, they don't usually take kindly to trespassers." Felix looked up from where he was wrestling with Remi as he heard his mother's voice. The little black tom trotted over to the fence, abandoning Remi in a mud puddle. "Mama told you our names, who are you?" Remi stood up, covered head to toe in mud with a grumble. How dare Felix push her into the puddle just to leave her there! Serena — With Suki and Kits (Willow)
"Right, those guys," muttered Serena, recalling wild tales of the clans and their exploits. She had to admit, life among them sounded exciting, but she wouldn't entertain that idea. Surely the territory conflicts and borders and whatnot would tie her down? No, she'd rather be free to go wherever she liked! Within reason, of course.
Such freedom would allow her to meet new cats all over the place. Like Suki.
"You're talking from experience, am I right?" she asked. "Cos it sounds to me like you-"
Before she could say another word, Felix, one of Suki's little ones, paused their play fight and decided to investigate her. She hoped he didn't ask about the scars on her shoulder, hoo boy — that was a story and a half, and not one he seemed equipped to process. She was just about to introduce herself in turn, so she didn't quite get what he was demanding, but hey, a bit of prompting never hurt anyone!
"I'm Serena! Don't worry, I won't be causing your Mama any trouble. I'm just a wanderer getting a bit of sun before hunting."

He gave a lift of his muzzle, challenging. "I bet I could take you both on here by myself and still stay standing on my paws." "Hmph!" Harlow glared at the challenge, ignoring Shadow's whispered call to wait a moment, before she was already making a lunge for the tom. With no option but to follow lead, Shadow darted in to join his sister on the team strike.

Captain, settling down again, twitched his whiskers. "She did...I never tried to find her again, though," he said. "As much as I'd have liked to. When we parted ways, she warned me to stay away from the Clans; apparently, we housecats aren't welcome on their territories."
"Believe me, I've thought of it! But never had the courage, or the spirit I suppose. It was seasons before I came here again anyhow, who knows if she's still out there. Those wild cats live short, rough lives."

But see, when I rescued Feather and brought him to my son, I knew then and there that this forest cat was special. Indigo tells me his name is Featherfoot now. Has kits of his own!" Fiona sighed. "But I can't visit, can I? Well, the best we can do is hope we can see them again. That their forest has given them long and happy lives."

Don't let this place be yer only home, if you find one outside the fences!" Fiona purred, brightened by Captain's seemingly hopeful outlook. She turned suddenly though, as she saw the shadow of a familiar shape slinking by on a nearby fence. Ears flicking, she called. "Oi! Lybex! What are ya doin' out here? I thought you were in the city!" Lybex gave a small hiss as she snapped firmly. "Hush! Stop shouting!... I'm visiting, that's all." Suki stifled her laugh as she watched her son's fur puff, his small tail expanding out like a pine cone. "Felix honey, when have we ever met a hostile cat here? Serena is just passing through." She turned back to the other she-cat, giving a half nod. "I was never a clan cat or anything, but my mate and I raised a kit that was from one of the clans and helped him return to his home. We have visited Thunderclan's camp on multiple occasions. I don't know much about the other clans though."

Whisperstone is level-headed and clever, a true thinker… and Echowing is… she was a force of nature. Nothing could stop her from accomplishing what she wanted to do, for Skyclan. Everytime I looked at them, it was like seeing you, and all I could do was love them for the both of us.” Frostyfoot mewed softly, heart aching in his chest. “Skyflight mentored Whisperstone. She’s one of Skyclan’s most respected Warriors. Dreamlily was mentored by Nightsky, and they both had a whimsical air to the way they interacted. And Echowing, her mentor was Swallowsong… losing her, I think it pained Echowing more than she ever could admit. She loved her, deeply.”

Lybex can be a real sweet when she wants to be. We raised our kits together many moons ago. Suki and Indigo gave her shelter.” Fiona explained. “I don’t care about your opinion of me.” Lybex mewed with a cold bluntness, though she gave a muted huff at Fiona’s honest words. Shaking her pelt, she grunted. “I’m here to warn you all, there may be new claws sinking around these grounds. Fiona, the city cats are broiling over. Word is that they want to get revenge again…” She flicked her ears, remembering when she herself had fought against Thunderclan, and lost her mate. Fang’s death had wakened her realization that it was stupid to fight the Clans. That there was a price to pay for violence, as much as she craved it.

Captain eyed the other she-cat warily, listening to her warning tone. "The city cats hardly ever come all the way out to the suburbs, why now?" he inquired suspiciously. "Thunderclan wasn't able to kill off the last few rats, and we all know what happens when rats are left unchecked." Lybex grunted, looking at Captain with a hint of terse weariness, before her gaze hardened once more, and she spoke with a more civil tone. "Both of the main groups that have overtaken the city have sour history with the Clan cats, but moreso does the group led by Greaser." "Roight..." Fiona sighed, remembering the very few glimpses she had of the elusive gang leader that nearly rivaled Axel's. Fiona's tail flicked. "Many of the cats that came to the city were beaten up after they lost their attacks on the Clans." "It was stupid of us to try." Lybex huffed, admitting her part in all of it but no longer having any guilt about saying it. "My mate was killed, but I survived, and as much as I could try and claw those Clan cats apart, I didn't need any of that territory. We grew arrogant, we paid for it... but some cats don't see that yet. It will be their downfall, but the rest of us have to deal with the stuff in the middle, per usual." She sighed.

Captain frowned deeply. He never understood the petty quarrels of territory that the city gangs and Clan cats seemed to forever be engaged in, especially when plenty of housefolk would be dying to have a cat live with them. "Well, I hope they figure it out. And do it outside of my yard!"

"Well, I hope they figure it out. And do it outside of my yard!" “Yes, well. I can tell you they don’t care much about yards and boundaries here. You’d be wise to stick inside with your twolegs.” Lybex snorted tersely to Captain, the closest thing to understanding she could muster. Fiona mewed quickly. “We’ll keep an eye out. Last I knew, the Clans all had borders against eachother, not alliances.” Lybex grunted, looking sharp and calculating. Fiona shrugged. “Maybe they decided to try and get huntin’ going after that awful fire. The whole place was burnin’! You could see the smoke from the furless’ tall nest roofs!”

Serena — With Suki and Kits (Willow )
I'm just a wanderer getting a bit of sun before hunting." Felix hummed, but still looked up at the other cat suspiciously, as suspicious as a 2 moon old kit could look. "Alright, well I'll be watching you, no one hurts my mama!" Suki stifled her laugh as she watched her son's fur puff, his small tail expanding out like a pine cone. I don't know much about the other clans though." Serena — With Suki and Kits (Willow)
Serena gave a firm nod when the little kit spoke. His attempts to intimidate her were adorable, of course, and he had the right idea to be cautious around a stranger, but she hopefully assured him she was here for peaceful reasons.
"I bet your mama's real lucky to have you to protect her," she mewed, observing his fur puff. He more closely resembled a frayed ball of string than a cat... She only had a few memories of her time as a kittypet, but it was always the little things that brought her roots to the forefront.
"ThunderClan, huh?" she said once Suki told her about the kit she had raised. Whatever he was doing there now, she hoped he was happy and well. "Am I right in guessing that they live round the thicker parts of the woods? I'll try to stay out of their way if I can help it, but..." She swished her tail in contemplation, her smile staying regardless. "...If I do run into trouble, I can always try to charm my way out. That usually works, at least round these parts."

Captain frowned, recalling the blackened ashes that floated through the red sky as he and his housefolk left their home to avoid the burning forest. "It must have been scary, with no housefolk to take you somewhere safe," he commented.

“You know them more than you think. They all had your sense of wonder, and dedication. Dreamlily is kind and gentle, with a loving heart. She loved her, deeply.” Opalmist nodded, eyes watering as she learned more of the kits she had barely known, though she had loved all the same. "Losing Icefire was hard, even though she wasn't my mentor for very long. I can't imagine the pain I would feel if I had lost Snowdance." she murmured softly. "I hope Echowing is able to find peace, perhaps she will feel like she belongs more with us gone. I can't bear the thought of her hating herself."

Felix chest puffed with pride at Serena's statement though he was quickly getting bored of the peaceful conversation and returned to his romp in the mud with Remi, laughing as he pushed his sister back into the puddle.
Remi shrieked as she was once again covered in mud.
Suki sighed as she looked back from her kits to Serena again, "Yes, Thunderclan lives in the section with the big oaks and lots of undergrowth. I'm not very familiar with the other clans but you can scent their borders pretty clearly. They may let you go if you feign innocence, but they do not take kindly to cats hunting in their territory." she warned.

"It must have been scary, with no housefolk to take you somewhere safe," he commented. “Twolegs started that fire.” Lybex grunted coldly. “Why would I ever trust them to protect me from it?” “Lybex.” Fiona soothed. “It ain’t our place to judge, yea? Captain’s furless’ are very nice. I doubt they could start any fire!” Fiona argued, before she looked at Captain. “I was safe in the city. Not enough trees to ever burn, ya know?”
