Opalmist yawned as she awoke from her nap, she rose from their nest with a stretch and headed to peak out of the entrance of Grizzley's den. She shivered as the cool air hit her face, and she quickly retreated into the warmth of the den. She rounded back toward their nest, touching her cold nose to Frostyfoot's. "It's time to wake up Frostyfoot. We should hunt, the sky is looking a bit gray this morning. It will probably rain later on."

Captain snorted, rolling his eyes as he rubbed against his housefolk's leg, earing some scratching behind his ears for a moment. Satisfied, he padded back out to the porch. "Sure, but that was ages ago. I was a younger tom then," he mewed, sitting down and looking at the treetops that showed over the edge of his fence where it bordered the forest. "My housefolk and I live farther away then, and I wandered my way all the way over here. I was very adventurous in those days!" His eyes took on a far away look, as if he were remembering something. "There was a forest cat I met, and she helped me make my way back to the town. I doubt I'll see her again, but..." “Ohhh, you fancied her, eh? I can tell. What was her name? Maybe I can recognize some forest cats, eh?” Fiona asked, now enriched in wanting to know Captain’s long lost flame.

Lacey left the nest with more grace than her siblings, daintily following after her mother as she grimaced at the wet ground. Ugh, she hated this! All this messy dirt was making her paws wet and muddy. She bristled lightly when she saw Serena, and pressed close to Suki’s side.
Frostyfoot slowly awoke, blinking sleep away as he recognized his mate’s voice. He rose to his paws and gave a long stretch, before he mewed. “Good idea. There’s far more prey scent out here than back… there…” He hesitated, before he shrugged and shook off the sadness. “Back in the Clans, anyway. Maybe we finally won’t have to starve, we can eat what we like, when we like!”

Opalmist smiled, though she wasn't as familiar with the constant struggle of coming back empty-pawed as the warrior was. She had of course starved alongside her clanmates, but she often had the privilege of eating first as a medicine cat. "That does sound nice, doesn't it? Although I must admit, I miss the taste of lizard." she mewed with a sigh.

He lifted his chin, looking at the twolegplace around him. “No need to miss it. I’ll go catch you one right now. There’s a ton of rocks around here, and lizards like those.” He decided.

They sunbathed on the cliffs all the time.” Frostyfoot teased. The soft-furred grey tom slipped from the abandoned twolegnest, inviting. “Did you get trained to hunt at all? I can teach you, if you like.”

I don't mind doing all the hunting if you're alright doing all the healing." Frostyfoot offered with a kind look, before he continued. "But in the event that you need to eat and I'm not there to get it for you, we can turn you into a good hunter in no time. I may have not had an apprentice in my life, but I can certainly teach you." He brushed past her. "Follow me. I can already scent some birds. Smell that?"

Nightmare looked over to where Azalea and Farland were training the younger cats and stood up, “Well, let’s get this over with then. It would be nice to wipe that smirk off of Rocco’s face for once.” She mewed, leaving the cool shade and padding towards the others. In case you missed this, Blazer ^.^)

Not when you bounce around like kits." Farland grunted, his deep voice serving to straighten the two cats up. Rocco straightened his stance, giving a more dutiful look as he promised. "I'm taking it seriously, I promise!" "We've been doing the same move over and over." Harlow huffed, having long mastered it alongside Rocco. "Can we finally learn a new one?"

Opalmist tasted the air as she walked alongside Frostyfoot, she nodded as she took in the scent of bird. "Yes, we don't.. um.. I didn't eat a lot of birds but we would find them in the pines sometimes. I do want to get better at hunting, healing may not be as useful as a skill here. Most of the cats we've met live with twolegs."

"We can get one of these birds, and then I'll show you exactly where I bet some lizards will be. One of the twolegnests we passed had a bunch of dark rocks on the side of it. Lizards would really like those, they warm up in the sun, surely like the black rock cliffs." He mused, before he paused, eyeing a bird shuffling under a bush, trying to get away from the chilly and wet air. "See that one? It's really got itself in a bad spot. It can't fly away easily when it's in a bush."

Opalmist stayed where she was as Frostyfoot stepped forward, giving him room to hunt. She nodded eagerly to him, curious to see if his hunter's crouch looked any different than the one she had learned all those moons ago with Icefire before she had chosen to become a medicine cat instead.

Frostyfoot glanced back to make sure she was watching, hoping to impress his mate with a catch. He stalked forwards on long legs, bunched up with great strength. When he got close to the bush, he suddenly ducked low, springing forwards with great distance before he wrestled the bird down within the bush.

Azalea had noticed Nightmare and Shadow's approach a few heartbeats ago, and she stepped forwards to speak. "Now that we have a few more volunteers, yes, we can start a new move. Fighting in pairs. Most loners and rouges will fight one on one. Being able to team up and understand eachother's patterns will give you a great advantage." She nodded.
"Nightmare, you can be Rocco's partner. Shadow, you can be Harlow's partner. We'll be doing leg dives. The goal is to trip your opponent, so your partner can land an attack."
Rocco perked up, looking over at Nightmare with a hint of surprise. Both her and Shadow weren't out often during the day. He guessed that the shade inside the factory helped, but he usually never trained with them. This would be fun!

Serena — Watching the World Go By
Soft paws took delicate steps along the brick wall fences of the Twolegplace, confident in their placement. The paws belonged to a blue-grey she-cat, dotted with small cream patches across her pelt. Her dark green eyes, although hooded, looked out on the world around her with a gentle gaze, full of appreciation for the sights and sounds of her home. Conversations among cats drifted in the air, and the housefolk were busy tending to their kittypets. The cat continued her little trek until she reached the edge of the fence, deciding to take a seat for a while.
This was Serena, a loner who wandered the Twolegplace. Today, she was planning on going for a good, long hunt in the woodland areas, taking care not to cause trouble. But first, a moment of zen...
Provided no cat disrupted it, of course.
Felix and Remi darted out of the abandoned twoleg nest with shrieks of laughter. The young kits tumbling through the the overgrown plants of their garden without a care in the world. Suki, their mother ducked out of the nest behind them. She padded calmly over to the brick wall that lined the property, their section now crumbling in disrepair, and hopped on top of it. Hoping for some time to sun while the kits played below. She blinked in surprise as she came face to face with a cat she'd never seen before. She gave the she-cat a nervous smile, her eyes flicking back down to her kits below. "Hello." she mewed cautiously. Serena — Making a Friend?
Serena's eyes shot open when she heard the meow of another cat. She jumped, almost missing the fence, but she sticked the landing and relaxed when she met the stranger's eye. Her fur was grey, striped with white patches on her muzzle and chest. As her green eyes looked towards her kits, Serena followed her gaze, watching the youngsters and their plant destruction. In fairness, they probably weren't looking where they were going.
Introductions were in order.
"Hi there!" she meowed with a grin, tail held high. "You here to catch some rays, too?" A ray of sunlight settled against her mottled fur as she looked out over the rest of the Twolegplace, wondering if she could catch a glimpse of the forest somewhere.
"In fact, it might just be a good day for a hunt. The critters down in the woods must be wide awake at this time of day, if I'm not mistaken." Turning to the stranger, she then asked, "Have you ever been hunting there? Any advice if so?"
(OOC: Apologies in advance if I'm slow to reply, writer's block is lowkey kicking my butt at the moment...)

Opalmist watched with amazement, she had never seen a cat jump and move with such power. She supposed that's what Skyclan was known for though. She trotted forward to meet him with a wide grin, "That was great Frostyfoot! That bird didn't even know you were coming."

Suki stroked her tail down Lacey's back beside her, settling herself as the cat seemed to be friendly. "Hello, my name is Suki, this is my daughter Lacey and the two down there are Felix and Remi. I haven't been down to the forest in quite a while, but my mate Indigo goes out to hunt there every few days. Be mindful of the clan borders, they don't usually take kindly to trespassers."
Felix looked up from where he was wrestling with Remi as he heard his mother's voice. The little black tom trotted over to the fence, abandoning Remi in a mud puddle. "Mama told you our names, who are you?"
Remi stood up, covered head to toe in mud with a grumble. How dare Felix push her into the puddle just to leave her there!

Frostyfoot slipped back out from the bush, proudly holding the bird, even though his pelt was now ruffled and stuck with dead leaves. Placing the bird down before Opalmist with a warm purr, he offered. "You should have seen how Redspring hunted, if you thought my lunging leap was powerful. As for this bird, would you like to taste the kind of prey I ate everyday?" A part of him felt a great sense of relief, that they no longer had to wait to eat if they caught something. While losing their clans and homes and clanmates had been awful, the freedoms they gained were not to be discounted.
Lacey looked at Serena with suspicious eyes, though she tucked close to her mother and mewed with a hint of disdain. "There's too many gross things out there. I don't want to catch anything out there, ever!"

Opalmist plucked some feathers off gently, running her paw over them for a moment before turning her attention back to the bird. Shadow, on the other paw, seemed to be eyeing both of them with a dangerous and tactical gaze. Azalea lifted her tail, before lowering it quickly to signal them to start the spar. Harlow lunged forwards in an instant, shooting straight for Rocco’s paws with her broad shoulders. Rocco was quick, leaping back and calling for Nightmare to try and hook Harlow’s legs.

I’d offer to hunt prey for them… but I doubt they’d ever want prey from me, or you now.” He drooped.
