Oceanfeather glowed with pride, even though he wasn't her kit, "That was excellent Sunkit! Was there something else you had in mind?" She asked.

Sunkit pondered for a moment before lighting up. "I was thinking, if you'd want me that you can mentor me." The golden tom-kit shuffled his paws. "I don't know if that's allowed though."

Oceanfeather smiled, "I'm sorry, but the Raja is the only one that can mentor you. But don't worry, he will teach you plenty of things. Like fighting, and healing, and the gods." She put her fluffy tail on his shoulder for comfort.

Sunkit's tail drooped. Okay, I understand. The tom-kit sighed, frowning. It just wasn't fair! Why couldn't he have a normal childhood like everyone else? He didn't even want to be Raja one day. A tear rolled slowly down his muzzle. "I gotta go, he whimpered. Racing toward the camp entrance. (He has an internal conflict about becoming Raja one day, he feels weighed down with anxiety, stress, burden, anger, and fear. He also doesn't think he's good enough.)

(Aw...poor sunkit)
Oceanfeather was just about to call out to him but she stopped herself. Sunkit was a wonderful little kit, and if she could chamge his future so he could be a 'normal' cat, she would in a heartbeat. Howver, it is not her position to say what his future will hold in store. Sunkit's father will do that, to the best of his ability. Oceanfeather was still a bit iffy about Raja though. He seemed very sly, and also very secretive. Which isn't normal for a Raja. No, he hasn't betrayed his Clan yet, but who knows what he is hiding. Or if she misjudged and he is innocent. Oceanfeather thought for a moment. She had to follow Sunkit, he's not supposed to be outside of camp, let alone unsupervised. Instead of calling out to him however, Oceanfeather decided to silently follow him.

Yeah... Sunkit is miserable... )
Sunkit headed towards Jewel Falls, perhaps the gods and his ancestors would help him. What was his destiny? Why did he have to be first-born? The golden tom-kit dodged plants, trees, and prey as he ran at full speed, tears streaming down his face. Panting with exhaustion, he finally reached Jewel Falls. The sight was breathtaking and beautiful. He went by the water's edge and lapped some with his tongue, shuddering as he went to sleep, waiting for the gods to come.
