Oceanfeather jumped in surprise when she felt something on her back, "Sunkit? What are you doing up?" Oceanfeather asked. She bent her head down to the sand as to let Sunkit step off. These kits were just filled with energy! Where do they get it from? Oceanfeather might have to borrow it. She shook out her pelt after Sunkit stepped off onto the beach. "You need to be quieter. You might wake up the whole Clan." She knew that wasn't true. The waves lapping at the shore drowned out most of their sound to the rest of the Clan, but for Oceanfeather's sake, she preferred he would be quieter

Sunkit jumped back to the ground and shook his fur. "Okay" he furiously whispered. "'Can you teach me some fighting moves?"

Oceanfeather said hesitantly, "Um...I don't know Sunkit. I don't want to get in trouble with your parents." Oceanfeather didn't want to disappoint Sunkit. He might just throw a tantrum like most kits in the Clan. The poor Reny that have to put up with that! She thought for a moment, "Tell you what. If you go ask your dad and he says it's okay, I can teach you a few moves." She purred. Sunkit was adorable, and hopefully with what she teaches him he doesn't use it against his siblings. Oceanfeather remembered doing that to her siblings. None of them knew anything about fighting and once she learned even the simplest of moves, her littermates thought of her as a force to be reckoned with.

Sunkit brightened up. "Great! I'll go ask him!" The golden tom raced to his father's den. "Dad, can Oceanfeather teach me some fighting moves?" he asked.

The Raja blinked his eyes open at the sound of his kit's voice. Still tired he asked, "What did you want Sunkit?" He yawned, not wanting to get up. Some of his kits had energy while the rest of his family didn't. They would much rather sleep in but as Raja, he knew he had to be awake the same time the Clan was. It shows commitment to your position, and that you don't have too much pride in yourself to treat yourself better only because you are part of the royal family.

Sunkit bounced up and down. "Can Oceanfeather teach me some battle moves? She said I had to ask you for permission," he meowed.

Pearlkit Pearlkit had laid against the sand, her paws tucked under her chest, as she watched the familiar ocean waves and sunrise. She was happily soaking in the quiet morning and was barley paying attention to her other surroundings, which was quite unusual for the young she-kit, so she didn't hear the steps of the older she-cat approach. So when her voice flitted through the air it made the tiny ginger and white fluffy ball jump in shock and fright. Her wide amber eyes looking up to see who had snuck up on her, immediately recognizing the blue furred Oceanfeather. Pearlkit stared at Oceanfeather for a few short seconds before remembering the she-cat had spoken earlier. "Oh, just taking in the quiet." She told the warrior, Pearlkit knew she was an odd kit - especially compared to her siblings, but she spoke her mind anyway.
Suddenly the fluffy golden fur of her brother appeared, along with his voice, upon the warriors back. She watched with mild amusement as Sunkit was put to the ground and began asking about fighting moves. It was only a few seconds before he was running off back to the den again to ask father permission - as Oceanfeather had ordered.

Sandfoot Sandfoot still didn't hear him but he wanted every bit of sleep he can get, "Yeah, sure..." Sandfoot waved his son off with his paw before shutting his eyes, his breathing becoming steady again as he slept.
Oceanfeather Oceanfeather looked back at Pearlkit, "You know you shouldn't be out here by yourself right? It's part of our safety rules." She said. The apprentices and kits were taught to memorize the safety rules of living by the ocean. The buddy system of having a warrior with you was greatly emphasized. And yet, here Pearlkit was, not sticking with the rules. Oceanfeather always followed any of the rules the Raja had made, holding them in her heart and remembering them in any decision she made.

Sunkit ran towards Oceanfeather. He ran in a circle meowing, "He said that I could! What are ya gonna show me?" Sunkit sat down, alert. Ready to pay attention.

(Okay I'm back!)
Oceanfeather turned around when she heard the adorable voice of Sunkit, "He said yes? Are you sure?" Oceanfeather knew Raja (this is what the people who aren't part of his family call him) wasn't a big fan of his kits play fighting. Or fighting in general. She was still hesitant but Sunkit wouldn't lie...would he? "Okay, if he said so." She agreed

Sunkit's eyes shone bright, eager and ready to learn. "Yay!" he squeaked. "What are you teaching me first?" He tilted his head and back again.

Oceanfeather thought for a moment before answering, "Well, let's do something simple. How about a front paw swipe?" She sat beside him and crouched down to his level, "Like this." She focused on a shell in front of her and delivered a quick blow, claws sheathed as to not give him any ideas. The shell flew up in the air and landed back down in the sand softly, nothing chipped.

Sunkit nodded. He swiped the shell with his front right paw. It went into the air and landed on his head. "Ouch!" he whined.

Oceanfeather couldn't help but laugh a little at the noise the shell made when it hit Sunkit's head. But she had to make sure he was okay, "Are you okay Sunkit? Any cuts or anything?" She started to part the fur on his head, looking for any signs of trauma or anything that he needed to be sent to the Shaman for.

Sunkit shook the shell off and meowed, "I'm fine! Let's do that again!" His eyes shone.

Oceanfeather purred and let a smile come through, "If you say so." She bent down again, and moved the shell back to where it was. "Okay, this time, when you strike out at the shell, try to flick your paw the other way so it won't hit you this time!" She chuckled and licked the top of Sunkit's head. Oceanfeather struck her paw back out at the shell to show him how to do it correctly. This time she flicked her paw the other way to send it farther away instead of straight up into the air.

Oceanfeather felt the shell hit her head, it felt like sosmeone flicked a pebble at her forehead. She shook her head after it fell off, "It's okay, it didn't hurt." She purred. Oceanfeather set the shell back to where the original spot was. "How about we learn something else hm?" She got back into a crouch, but this time into a hunter crouch. "Now watch." Oceanfeather kept her tail slightly above the ground and gathered her haunches below her. She leaped directly onto the shell and held it underneath her paws. She stood back up. "Now you try. I'll help you if you need it."

Shellkit plummeted a feather down to the ground as she ventured around camp. As the soft-stemmed object soared back above her head, the kit let out a squeal of joy and reached her paws up to pull it back into her grasp again. This afternoon, her littermates were nowhere to be found, so she decided to play by herself. Her pelt was warmed by the sun after staying out for so long and her paw pads were aching slightly. But she was determined to take down her feather.

Sunkit nodded and bunched his haunches together. He wriggled his behind before pouncing onto the object with both paws. "I did it!" he squealed. Pride gleamed in his eyes.

Oceanfeather padded up to him, "Good job Sunkit! But let's fix your crouch." She guided him over with her fluffy tail back to where they were standing. "Now go back into position." She smiled. Sunkit was a fast learner but he still had work to do.

Sunkit nodded and tried again, this time crouching a bit lower. He sprang onto the shell pressing down on it with both of his small paws.
