Silverstar walks up to the Medicine Cats den. "Ravenheart. Do you have any Poppy Seeds? I've been having trouble sleeping lately." She said to the Medicine cat.

Ravenheart looked up with a dazed expression. "Oh, yes. You'll need a deputy soon, won't you?" She remarked casually, nosing around and finally pulling out 2 poppy seeds wrapped carefully in a leaf.

"Yes I will be picking a deputy soon. That's actually why I'm having trouble sleeping." She says it with a bit of annoyance since she is exhausted. "It's a lot of stress on me. But anyway thank you for the Poppy Seeds Ravenheart." She smiles at the Medicine Cat.

Silverstar climbs to a high branch of the kinship tree. "I CALL TO ALL CAT OLD ENOUGH TO CATCH THEIR OWN PREY TO CIRCLE AROUND THE KINSHIP TREE!"

Snowblaze appeared in the camp center to hear her mother speak. She hoped her hard work was about to pay off, though she hadn't told anyone she was expecting yet after the recent death of her brother and previous death of her father.

"I have chosen who shall be the deputy! I call Snowblaze to the roots of the Kinship Tree!" She meows it loud enough for the camp to hear.

Blackpaw waited with his clanmates to hear the announcement. He figured it must be about the new deputy and was excited.

Smowblaze stood up quickly trying to contain her excitement. Steeling her demeanor she approached Silverstar calmly.

"I do," meowed Snowblaze loudly and confidently. She had worked hard for this and was finally here. Now she wanted to prove to her clanmates she could be a good deputy before they found out her secret.

"Then I call on Starclan to watch over you as our new Deputy! And in honor of them watching over you, you shall give half of your meal to them tonight and shall watch over our Clan on night patrol tonight!" She meows this with loudness and proudness.

Spottednose's eyes widened angrily, and he silently thought horrible thoughts about Snowblaze. He was the respected warrior, not her! He had been a better fighter, unlike her! This was unfair..... Fuming, he padded to the empty warriors den to comtemplate.
Ravenheart glanced fearfully at Spottednose, but took a deep breath and left her den to face Snowblaze. "I trust that you will make a fantastic deputy and think that Silverstar made an excellent choice." She mewed with a slight dip of her head in respect for the new deputy.

Silverstar had noticed Spottednose. She jumps from the branch walking to the warriors den. "Spottednose. I didn't chose you because I feel you are the one I can trust to watch out for Snowblaze. He needs you." She smiles a bit after saying this.

Spottednose looked up at her with surprise. "Alright then.. Im sure that Snowblaze will be a terrific deputy anyways." He grumbled, trying to keep his gaze at the leader steady. "I guess I can be a good warrior without being deputy anyways.... I'm not too disappointed," He added, starting to stare at the ground. "Plus, I'm sure he doesn't need me." Spottednose finally mewed, taking a breath now that he had said his part.

"Spottednose. I think of you as the best warrior. But I picked Snowblaze because he could be a good deputy and future with you at his side." She smiles at the tom now.

Spottednose felt a small stab of happiness at this, but tried not to show it. "I understand completely." He mewed, bowing his head wih respect.

"No, it's fine. I'll just go... Hunting. I promise that I will bring back a good haul of prey, Silverstar." Spottednose replied, his voice faltering slightly before he turned around to pad out of camp stiffly.
