Hoot --> Talon
"Hoot." The cream she-cat introduced in turn, her expression relaxed. If she was particularly territorial, she didn't show it. She looked curious, more than anything. "That can over there has some scraps in it, and there's a Twoleg in this area that occasionally sets food and water out." This advice was given with a placid flick of the ears. "I'd watch that can, though. I saw a big, nasty looking rat crawl into it around sunhigh, and it hasn't left yet." She warned. So that was why she was just...casually waiting on a fence. The buff-colored stray had been targeting that can herself, but... "I would've fought it myself, but as I said before, it's pretty big, and I'd rather not risk it." Suddenly, those measured blue eyes came back to Talon. "...Unless I had some backup, of course." Getting to her paws, she stretched. "How does that sound, stranger? We fight the rat, and share the scraps 50/50?" It sounded like a fair deal to Hoot.

Fanny felt confused, and shifted her stance, looking uneasy and shaking all the while, uncertain what to act upon. Taking a hasty step forward, then back again, she said quietly. "... I... I don't... trust strangers."
- - -
"Your welcome, I guess, but I wasn't much help over there." He replied, but his voice sounded cheerful, and, deciding he'd like to chat longer, he sat down. "You look familiar, but I don't think I've ever actually spoke to you... I'm Johannes, by the way, I live with a person a few fences down."

((So... many cats... to add... XD))
Diamond relaxed a little. If this wasn't her territory, maybe Diamond could get away from this older she-cat alive. "No, that's what I was looking for." She explained. "The two-legs seem to have started locking some of the old popular places to eat." Or, at least, that's how it felt. Diamond's stomach was painfully aware of the lack of food. "But the forest... it might have something, if you can hunt." She had considered going there, but the idea scared her. Not only were there other territorial cats, but there were other predators, too.
--
Talon knew there had to be a reason that she would share information such as a two-leg setting food and water out. He wasn't much a fan of the food that two-legs seemed to think cats liked, but it was something that would at least fill your stomach. "You've got a deal." He said and looked at the can, taking a couple steps towards it. "How about, I knock the can over? And then you can distract it and I'll come in from behind?" It seemed like a good deal to him -- the majority of the injuries would end up being on Hoot, and not him. Fair and square.
--
Rose sighed, getting a little frustrated with the younger cat. This was why she had sworn off ever taking a mate or having kits. They were just plain annoying. "Alright, if you don't want help, so be it." Rose said with a casual flick of her tail as she started off back into the woods. "But I'd be careful. There's coyotes around here and they'll rip you to shreds as soon as they smell even a bit of blood." It was true -- Rose had heard them in the night, growing ever closer to this part of the forest. A cat might be able to handle a fox or even a badger but a pack of wolves... oh, it was over before it had even begun.
--
"I don't think you would've been much help anywhere." Snow mumbled. If he had been close enough, she probably would've just pulled him down with her. "I'm Snow... technically Snowy, but I don't much like that." Her two-legs had kids and those kids seemed to name all of the animals something with a y at the end. "I think I've seen you before, too. I usually sit right up there most days and watch you go into the woods and then come back." Snow hesitated for a moment before adding; "What do you do out there? Is it scary? Dangerous?"

OOC Text
IC "Leader...You know I wouldn't question your judgement...but can I at least ask why we're going into the forest? We've never left the city..." Follower trailed off as she watched the tom briskly make his way through the alleyways. She didn't want to say anything, but she couldn't help but think that Leader might have gotten in trouble again. Big trouble, if he was trying to leave the city. They were alley cats, and they always had been. They looked in dumpsters for food, or chased after the city rats. They avoided animal control and laughed in the face of danger...well, Leader did. Follower kind of just gave a half hearted, weak laugh as to not feel left out. The point was that they were not forest cats and she couldn't understand why Leader was taking them into a place they didn't belong.
Speaking of Leader, the tall tom stiffened and swerved his head to look back at her. "We're going into the forest because the city has way too many cats. There's too much competition, besides, what if we got caught by animal control? It'll be safer for us in the forest. There will be more food and less cats to compete with, and even better yet, we won't have to deal with certain cats anymore," he explained before swerving around again and stalking off.
Follower sighed and padded after him. Those were good points, but it didn't change the fact that they were alley cats, and she doubted they had what it took to live in the forest. Leader had always been very stubborn in his belief that they were alley cats born and raised, and nothing was going to change that.
Well, clearly, something had.

Fanny flinched at the idea of wild animals, her eyes widening further as she pictured them. She had heard howls the night before, and scenting fox and badger, coyote and wolf, on occasion in her travel, and had met a dog along a path that had been old, and with a human, so it had been rather tame and she'd avoided it besides. Yet terrible stories of wolf packs and other such creatures, mixed with her hunger and weakened state, caused her to slowly sink into a faint, landing in a heap on the grass.
- - -
"Dangerous?" Johannes commented, glancing back at the woods. He smiled as he watched birds fluttering from tree to tree, and listened to their song, a bit dreamily, and content not to hunt the songbirds if he could help it. "That depends how far you go. The edge occasionally will attract foxes... and coyotes, with an odd badger, and perhaps raccoons, or rats, and a few more dangerous birds. Those are a risk, but they don't come out often, and usually it's at night and their here to scavenge. In the day I usually just find a few birds, mice and rabbits, and maybe another cat like us... but deeper in the forests your probably at risk." Frowning while saying this, he smiled again as she looked at her, delighted to talk about the woods. "No, my patch of woods isn't a danger as long as you don't get lost, and don't stay well into the night! Unless you consider me dangerous. I suppose I could be, if I wanted. The birds and hares think so anyways. I don't usually pick up fights with cats, unless they're... uninvited and in a state of... challenge. Few of those types live around here, who like fighting." He shrugged, and looked back to the forest again.

((Morning, S'more! ^.^))
Rose stopped, her eyes wide. This was not how this was supposed to go. Did she just kill that little cat? Walking over, she relieved when she could still here her breathing. But that didn't change the fact that Rose had made her faint. This little cat did not belong here, in these dangerous woods. Grumbling under her breath something about how much she hated young cats, she picked the littler cat's scruff up in her mouth and started to drag her somewhere safer.
--
To Snow, that all sounded horribly scary. Badgers and foxes and coyotes came up that close? But after a moment of listening to him, those fears fell away and part of her wanted to explore the woods. "Well, you don't seem very scary and I guess if you were something to worry about, you probably would have beaten me up by now." She pointed out and looked out towards the woods once more. "I think I'd like to explore them, at least the safe part." Snow hesitated before adding, "You wouldn't beat me up if I stepped into your woods, would you?"

Waffle - A lithe, longhaired silvery oriental cat. He has a long, graceful tail with wispy fur. His face is long, and he has bright frosty blue almond shaped eyes. His ears are large and fall more towards the sides of his head. He came to the forest from the cushy life of a kittypet after venturing too far from home. He is friendly, peaceful, and observant. However, he often bottles up his emotions for too long, to the point that he will unexpectedly explode with a rainbow of emotions. He also is slightly paranoid. These hidden passions in his heart either aid him in battle, or cause his failure.

Fanny remained unconscious for a few minutes, not noticing the cat's teeth in her scruff, nor the sand, twigs and leaves catching onto her pelt as she was dragged along. After they had walked a little bit, however, she slowly came to, and, eyes looking almost crossed in her haze, she feebly tried to loosen herself, feeling panic slowly build as she realized she had no blue what was going on. Thinking a dog was carrying her off she let out a shriek once she was fully awake, and flailed helplessly, trying to grab onto a bush nearby them.
- - -
"So long as you don't plan on fighting me, no, of course not!" Johannes said, getting back to his paws and grinning at her. "I'd love to take you on a guided tour if you'd like, it's a cool day out and I haven't scented any danger, argumentative cats or no. So that'd be fine!"

Sunny-- A beautiful long-furred golden she-cat with a dappled pelt and sea blue eyes. She is calm, cool, and diplomatic, and prefers not to fight, though she's still a dangerous opponent in battle when her claws do come out. She has a good heart and wouldn't hesitate to help any cat in trouble. Her traveling companion is Ace, and she is very fond of him, though he isn't her mate.
Ace-- A sleek short-furred dark gray tom with a white tail tip and bright amber eyes. He's friendly and energetic; he's better at hunting then at fighting, though he's loyal to the death and fiercely protective of his companion Sunny.

Missy
Missy looked at the tiny cat. She looked glad to be alive. Missy wasn’t a particularly scary looking cat, and Dusty behind her even less so, with his large ears and too short fur. Still, Missy was reasonably well fed, and that made her look much bigger and tougher than the starving cats that usually frequented this area. Still, the little kit should now that well fed cats were happy cats. The reason Missy was out here was to get food for her gangmate, not to fill her belly. That made her calm and happy, and gave her a little bit of sympathy for the tiny kit. Her ears perked up when she heard the kit talk about the forest. Missy rarely ventured there, but the food there was supposed to be delicious.
“I woulnd’t mind killing some mice.” Missy mewed. “Do you want to come with us, has anyone ever taught you how to hunt.”
Her words seemed nice, but Missy was assessing the young cat. She was small now, but maybe she would grow to be larger. With 4 kittens in her gang already, Missy didn’t really want another one, but Missy planned to expand her territory soon, and needed cats to fill it up.

A silvery tom trotted at the outskirts of the forest, eyes fixed on a patch of brush down the way while his ears kept note of the environment, swiveling at every small noise. From his jaws hung a dead mouse. He slowed down for a moment to take a peek at the unfamiliar homes in the area. He sighed internally, dearly missing home. He shook his head. This life is better for us, Waffle. Forget your housefolk. Waffle picked up his pace again, arriving at the patch of brush where he could crouch and eat his prize.

Maurice jumped onto the windowsill- the one on his home in an abandoned house, nestled in a more decrepit side of town, with vines growing about, in and around it, and rats scurrying in the halls. It was, in fact, a mansion, built and then abandoned when no one could afford it's upkeep. Not that he knew or cared, he just new it was his, and grinned as he startled a few pigeons, taking it that all in his little kingdom feared him, and ignoring the fact pigeons in general feared cats. - - - Josephine was in her yard, watching as a butterfly alighted on a lemon tree nearby, and enjoying as the sunlight shafted through it's multicolored wings. She was tired from a long night's walk, and wasn't in her usual hunter's mood, so she was pleased just to sit back and watch it, her eyes wide with interest and she herself trying to resist chattering at it as she so often did to prey out of reach. ( Read it! Which would you rather continue with? cx )
