Fawnspots watched in silent amazement. Bursting from her place inside the bush when he spoke up. "That was a great catch! I've never seen anyone perform that last bit before." She praised leaning her head down to sniff at his prey. "And its a pretty decent size too, if I do say so myself." Excitement pulsed through her body, making her tail swish uncontrollably. Moleskin was a superb hunter, way better than her. Because for one, Fawnspots wasn't nearly as patient with her prey. When hunting in the marshes quickness was key because reptiles and amphibians sensed predators way faster than rodents and birds. And two, Fawnspot's wasn't as flexible. Yes keen and swift, but not flexible. Maybe if she went out hunting more with Moleskin he'd teach her how to hunt better as a forest cat. And maybe I can teach him to fish and hunt in the marshes. As fun as it sounded, the brown spotted feline knew it probably would never happen. The way Moleskin had froze just talking about water....
She shook her head. Nonsense. If Moleskin was willing to teach her forest and moorland hunting, then she had to give him something in return. And if he didn't want it she would figure a way to still teach him. Water would never go away and he couldn't keep living in the present. He had to get over his fear someday, somehow. "Maybe one day when your up to it, I can teach you to fish? Only if you teach me your hunting techniques."

Moleksin looked down at his paws awkwardly at Fawnspots praise. Giving an embarrassed chuckle, "I-I wasn't that good. I mean I just hunted like any other cat would." And that was the truth. Moleskin didn't think of his hunting to be that superb. Sure, the Oriental tom was a great hunter but he wasn't good enough to recieve that much praise. But Fawnspots was just a positive cat. And that was one of the things he liked about her. How positive and appreciative she was about everything. The tom flicked his tail before sitting beginning to groom his face, ears pricked as she was still talking. Fishing? No way am I prepared to try that again! And how long had it even been since he'd attempted getting into a body of water? Other than the rain, Moleskin hadn't gotten that soaked since that terrible day. "Uhh-" Moleskin looked up a bit bewildered from his grooming, meeting his clanmates big, brown eyes. But she was serious. The brown cat seemed determined to get him back in the water. But Moleskin didn't share her determination. In fact, he didn't agree with her one bit. "Look, Fawnspots, I don't mind teaching you my hunting techniques, but I don't think I'm ready to get back into the water." The long-legged feline meowed seriously. He wasn't going to be peer-pressured into doing something he wasn't ready to do. Clearing his throat, Moleksin rose to his paws picking up his vole before padding away a few tail-lengths.
"Come on, there's more prey to be caught." Of course he wasn't trying to come off as rude. But in a way, Fawnspots enthusiasm to get him over his fear was offending. Though she hadn't really done anything wrong. I'm just not ready. And Fawnspots just had to accept it.

(Okay, just going by Coldfires fear of kits I feel like when she became a mentor she was like omg no, Squirrelstar. I'm going to break it.)
Stormpaw wasn't doing much. Not that he ever did much these days, but he'd finally escaped the medicine cats den after his shoulder flared up the other day. It had finally gone back down again, and once he was able to walk on it he left the den without another word. Staying there was just uncomfortable for the apprentice, so he often found himself trying to escape the quickest he could. He was still walking with a limp, but he could train if Grasspelt decided to find him.
Which he doubted.
It wasn't that Grasspelt wasn't a great mentor, he supposed that he was. The tom was annoying, way too insistent on him trying his best when Stormpaw didn't care anymore. Any of Stormpaws efforts were subpar at best now, training just enough so he could one day get his warrior name and keep Grasspelt off his back for the time being. But right now his mentor was busy bonding with his daughter, and the older apprentice felt that familiar angry twist of bitterness as he looked on. How come that she cat still had her family? All she did was laze around, rebel, and typically argue with her father. Didn't she understand how lucky she was to have him? And why did he keep on trying with her? It frustrated him to no end that Grasspelt was so patient. Why didn't he ever snap? At him, or at his daughter? It only made him try to push the others buttons even more, trying to get under his mentors pelt because he just wanted some kind of reaction out of him. The never ending patience was getting on Stormpaws nerves, he hated it, or how patient the other cats where because he "lost" his sibling. In Stormpaws view he basically killed her- he was the one who argued with her, the one who had distracted them and pushed her to the point of escaping the camp and he still followed her, continuing the argument. So why were they all being so nice with him? He deserved someone to get angry at him, which was why he tried to push Grasspelts buttons so much.
The young manx had been so caught up in his thoughts he never realized that he'd raised himself up so he could watch the two, and was currently glaring at them in the midst of his thoughts.
(Btw, I'm not assuming the twos relationship, this is just in Stormpaws point of view and when he sees them bickering )

(yeah Grass is Leaf's father. But her mother, Leafpatch died giving birth to her.)
Grasspelt sat up as he was done grooming his and his daughter's pelt. The young warrior now scampering off to get some prey for them. The senior warrior watched after his duaghter pridefully. She looked just like her mother, everything about her reminded him so much of Leafpatch. His beloved mate. His amber eyes darkend at the thought of the deceased she-cat. The same, familiar aching in his chest returning. It had been three years since his mate's death and his daughter's birth. But he still grieved for her. Grasspelt was snapped from his thoughts by an ominous feeling he got from the back of his head. The feeling that he was being watched. Without hesitation, the small brown tom whipped his head around, pelt bristling exposing the sharp blades of fur. But he instantly relaxed when he realized it was only his apprentice. "Ah, Stormpaw. Glad your already awake. Please, come join us."
Stormpaw was... different. Not nearly as energetic and eager to learn as the other apprentices. But he had his reasons. Stormpaw had been through more than the other apprentices. But Grasspelt saw through his apprentice's negative demeanor, he saw potential. Potential that Stormpaw was afraid to show.
"Here father." Leafspeck muffled meow sounded from behind him, dropping a plump squirrel at his paws. "No, no, give it to Stormpaw. We have a long patrol ahead of us, besides, I already ate."

Stormpaw felt himself bristle back when he saw his mentors spines go up, his own teeth showing as he glared back at the other. He was thinking that he'd finally gotten the treatment he deserved, maybe glaring at his oh so precious daughter would do the trick. Of course his theory was proven quickly wrong as his hackles lowered at the sight of the young apprentice, leaving him a little confused as to why he stopped the aggression. Maybe his mentor simply believed that he was a threat, which was a shame. He scowled a little at his mentor, padding over to him without saying a word. He simply twitched his ear when he claimed that he was glad that Stormpaw was up. No one was glad when he was around, not that fact bothered him. He'd made himself plain unpleasant to be around because what was the point of being friendly with others if they were just going to die on you anyways?
He short a glare at Leafspecks, as if he were daring her to give him the squirrel. There was no way that e was going to take food from someone else. If he was going to eat he was going to do it after he actually hunted. He wasn't going to be lazy and eat before the day even started, especially if he was given the food by such a lazy she cat.
"Not hungry. " he growled out, before licking his fur, glancing over at his own mentor almost lazily, wondering what he had in mind for the training today. He didn't know why he bothered with it, since Stormpaw did the bare minimum to get by. But his mentor seemed to insist on continuing training Stormpaw, so he just followed along with whatever the tom wanted to do.

Hi, and welcome to the WCRP. You can join here to use the correct joining form wcrpforums.com/thread/40711/open. I also advise that you do not join as an expecting queen. And Dreampaw's powers are a bit too extreme :]. But the wings are fine for both. I also want to inform you that in the time period ForestClan live in, humans are extinct. If you could just make those few changes then I'd be more than happy to accept you in ForestClan.

Fawnspots couldn't help a look of disappointment with how fast Moleksin turned down her offer. Her tail immediately stopped shaking and her excitement died down a tad. A sigh escaping her jaws. Fine. If Moleskin doesn't want to face his fears then I suppose I have to accept that. It wasn't like she could make him after all. Shaking out her pelt, as if shaking the disappointment away, Fawnspots scampered after him. Her gleeful demeanor returning to her as she did so. Once the brown feline had caught up with Moleskin, she slowed down catching her breath. Turning her brown oculars over to the tom, studying his face. From the way he stood and the look his eyes gave away, he seemed to be.... disgruntled. Instantly she felt disappointed again. But not in him, but herself. Spirits, I've done it again. Sticking my nose where it doesn't belong! Hesitantly, Fawnspots butted her head against his shoulder comfortingly, "Hey. I didn't mean to make you feel... intimidated"- excellent choice of wording - "I just want to help you. As clanmates, we should look out for each other, no one should have to suffer. Besides, you don't know when the next time will be where you have to encounter water. Especially with spring rains on the way." Though it probably wasn't what her long-legged clanmate wanted to hear, she had to prove a point here. She wasn't going to force him into getting into the water today, of course not. But one day, he had to learn. And one day soon. Her disappointment once again faded away- but not to happiness, instead, she felt confident. Confident in her words and confident in her actions. If she got Moleskin to face his fear, Squirrelstar was bound to finally trust her in giving her an apprentice. The simple thought of having an apprentice of her own made her tail shake in excitement. Her brown eyes gleaming. For the moment, forgetting about Moleskin and their previous conversation.
----------
Grasspelt's smile dropped into a serious frown as he gazed over at his apprentice. "I advise that you ate something, we have a long border patrol ahead of us. All the way across the marshes and east moorland and back here. But I think we can hunt along the way, what do you think Leafspeck?"
The tabby she-cat shot a nasty look back at Stormpaw for his attitude, before looking back over at her father. "Let him starve, teach him a lesson. I think you're going too easy on him. If I were his mentor a good cuff over the ear or two would surely do the trick." She mewed grudgingly, before crouching down and tearing into her mouse. Not even trying to give the squirrel to her father's apprentice. What a smart mouth on such a young cat. Leafspeck didn't care how terrible his past had been, there was no way she was going to take crap from an apprentice. How does Grasspelt deal with this every single day?
Grasspelt reached his tail over and lay it across Stormpaw's shoulders comfortingly for a brief moment. "Don't listen to Leafspeck. But you should eat." He meowed pushing the squirrel towards the apprentice. Looking him in the eye.

Stormpaw snorted at the advice, although he was considering it. They might not have time to eat if they were patrolling that far, but he didn't want to admit that Grasspelt could actually be right. He barely blinked at the serious frown, although he had to admit he was quite pleased at the fact that he'd elicited a negative response from his mentor. Maybe he did have a line that could be crossed.
His attention snapped back over to the tabby she cat, though, glaring right back at her with as much malice as he could muster. He curled up his lips, revealing razor sharp teeth as his hackles raised at the comment. Was she really judging her fathers mentoring style? She wasn't even a mentor, how would she know how to train a warrior? "Well maybe thats why you don't have an apprentice yet. Either that or you're too lazy. I bet the poor kit would just be sitting around the camp all day because thats all you do." He spat back, referencing how she'd been asleep the Grasspelt went to find her. Not only that, but she never seemed to listen to anyone. How had she received her warrior name? He blinked for a moment, realizing that he'd just spoken the most he had since his sisters death. Then he snapped back into his anger.
He felt his hackles bristle, clearly ready for a fight. At least some cat treated him like how he deserved, but he couldn't help but wanting to start a fight, especially when she heard Grasspelt being insulted. Despite his rather negative attitude, and how much Grasspelt irritated him with his never ending patience, he felt an enormous amount of loyalty to the tom. he was the only one who got to give Grasspelt a hard time, and no one else.
The dark tom flinched when the tail was lain across his shoulders, blinking him out of his angered state. He blinked up at his mentor, a moment when he seemed like a normal apprentice before the same hard expression settled back onto his features and he took a grudging bite out of the squirrel, not wanting to push his luck, but if that she cat said one more thing to him it was going to be over.

Moleskin was silent for a period of time. A rush of emotions pulsing through his body. Anger, fear, excitement; he wasn't sure which one to start with. Though he stayed quiet, keeping a blank face. Giving nothing away to the shorter cat beside him. Fawnspots words made since. And she was right in numerous ways. Though I don't appreciate being pushed. But perhaps a bit of pushing from the right cat- like Fawnspots - was what he needed. For a brief second, his blue eyes flickered over to Fawnspots, who looked very pleased and confident in her choices. And though he didn't want to, he envied her confidence. Because the simple though of just water- just the word itself made him want to tremble and hide like a helpless kit. But maybe she was right about this, maybe it was time for him to face his fears. But not today. Stopping in his tracks and dropping his vole, Moleskin turned to his companion before beginning, "Fawnspots, I appreciate your enthusiasm to help me get over my fear of water. But, again, I don't think I'm ready. B-but, don't get me wrong, I want to get over it someday, but not any time soon." Was that good enough? He was accepting her offer but turning it down at the same time. But will it make her finally stop talking about it? He prayed to the spirits she did. This would be enough talk of water and swimming for one day.
"Now how about we get back to our hunting patrol? We could split up and meet back up by the river at sunhigh?"

Excitment pulsed through Fawnspots body, overflooding her confidence, and she exploded into the air with a joyful yowl. Prancing around like a kit would before their apprentice ceremony. "Oh, Moleksin that's wonderful!" She exclaimed, rushing towards the tom and brushing her muzzle across his flank. Finally! She could show off her skills. Show her clanmates what she was actually good at. She could finally prove herself worthy. Prove that she wansn't an airhead. I have potential. She reminded herself when she finally could be still. Though the glint of happiness refused to die down in her soft brown eyes. The small brown and white cat felt as if she could run across the whole territory. I could hunt all day if I wanted too. But she knew if she really wanted to she could, it was close to the beginning of the festival. We might as well get ready for it. "Oh, alright. I'll see you again at sunhigh then, I guess." Quickly, Fawnspots mewed a fairwell before scampering off in the opposite direction. Following the sound of the gurguling water through the trees.
(we could pause on this until sunhigh if you want. maybe roleplay some cloud and day in the meantime?)
----------
Leafspeck's amber eyes widened in shock at Stormpaw's comment. Prickly pelt bristling and she sat up from her prey, "Lazy? Oh your one to talk! You ignorant, vile-"
Grasspelt stood up and fluffed out his pelt. The prickly strands of hair bristling in frustration as he looked from his duaghter to his apprentice and back. "That is enough!" He growled, laying his intense amber gaze on both cats. "You two are too old to be arguing like this, especially you Leafspeck. How foolish of you to argue with an apprentice, and you-" Grasspelt glanced over at his apprentice, heaving a sigh. Forcing his pelt to lie flat. Swallowing his frustration. "You both know the rules. But instead of punishing you, we will continue the patorl. And you will get along." Despite the tension there was between Stormpaw and Leafspeck, Grasspelt wasn't tempted to punish them with duties. No. Instead he was going to make them continue the patrol. Work out their differences, which really, they didn't have many.
Leafspeck scoffed at her father's scolding. Rolling her eyes and looking away. Though she showed no shame as she crouched back down and bit into her prey once more. Annoying furball. Who does he think he is just waltzing around here challenging every warrior he sees? She'd show him a challenge, that was for sure. Leafspeck may have been small, but she was a superb fighter. Just like her father. And I'm not one bit scared to take on some pesky know-it-all apprentice.

Stormpaw let out a small growl at being called vile. He shot up onto his paws, clearly ready to start up his own fight, and this time with his own claws. He opened up his mouth, baring his razor sharp teeth as he was about to come up with a sharp retort when he heard an angry snap.
Stormpaw flattened his ears, his tail puffed out anxiously at the sudden anger. Sure, it was the reaction he wanted but it still made him nervous. He glanced down at his paws, embarassed at how childish he was acting. Grasspelt was right, they were acting like they were younger than they were. Somehow that anger seemed to make the young tom calm down just a little bit, thinking it was aimed st him too. When the smaller tom turned his dark gaze to Stormpaw he straightened up, narrowing his eyes and trying to look tough. He let out a low growl as the tom relaxed and changed his stance. For some reason Gradspelt wouldn't yell at him and it made him even more angry than before.
Stormpaw let out an annoyed growl, settling back onto his haunches and flashed a hateful look over at the she cat. There was no way he was going to get along with her, and going with her on a patrol was a worse punishment than anything else Grasspelt could throw at him.
"Yes Grasspelf," he growled grudgingly, pawing at the squirrel and glaring at it. He might have a bad attitude, But he wasn't stupid. He knew when to just agree with his mentor.

"I'm gonna take a head start." Leafspeck announced, rising to her paws and arching her back in a stretch. "Don't wait up." She added as she trotted towards the camp entrance, head and tail held high. What a trip this would be. How -she did not know- could she ever put up with Stormpaw and his smart mouth. How does anyone put up with it? For once she was grateful for the decision Squirrelstar had made. Grateful that she wasn't assigned an apprentice of her own. Because she surely wasn't ready for it.
Grasspelt sat next to his apprentice for a while longer. Hoping his daughter hadn't strayed too far ahead. She isn't that inconsiderate. But then again, it was Leafspeck he was dealing with, everything was a surprise with her. Turning his amber gaze onto Stormpaw, the small tom rose to his paws. "Meet me over by the bridge once your finished." A soft sigh escaped his maw as he padded away towards the stream. Stopping half-way onto the bridge to lap up some of the refreshing water. He genuinely cared and loved both his apprentice and his daughter. If only they'd learn. And if only the learned fast. Once Stormpaw was a warrior there wouldn't be anyone there to hold his paw. He would just have to learn to let go of the past and look forward to the future. But Leafspeck...
Ah, my dear child. There was no telling how much longer it'd be till she learned her lesson.

"Lounging about again are we, Cloudwhisker."
The small, honey-like smooth meow of the delicate white feline sounded just inches away from the town. An amused purr rumbling in her throat as she settled down. Unlike her clanmates, Daylight wasn't able to sun herself or even stand within more than ten seconds in direct sunlight. Due to her delicate skin condition, she was restricted to the darker areas of the world. Longing to venture out into the world everyone else walked in. But it wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault that the sun loved her so much it kissed her until she got sunburn- which didn't take very long. Or at least, that was the story her mother would tell her. The story of how the sun loved her dearly, but she was forbidden to ever let it adore her. But, unfortunately, it wasn't completely, just a story. Though I wish it was.
But there wasn't anything she could do to change it. So she accepted it. Daylight tried her best to enjoy life, just like everyone else. Spreading joy instead of hate and helping out when she could. It wasn't much, but it was something. Something her clanmates appreciated for. And when the sun vanished beneath the mountains, and the moon appeared. She was free to do whatever she liked. That was until the sun came to find her again. Giving a soft sigh, Daylight lifted a paw and began grooming her face. The sun comes to see me, but he can never find me, no. We may never truly be able to dance together.
Turning her pinkish-blue eyes back to Cloudwhisker she smiled. "Its a pity we can't change positions. You and I both know I'd adore being a warrior for at least a day. Just as we both know you'd adore doing nothing for a day."

(I have Bearpaw and Coldfire open as well.)
"I won't," He snarked back, the nub of his tail lashing a little bit as he glared at the retreating figure of the she cat, the annoyance clear in every move he made. He opened his mouth, ready to start an argument with her, his claws digging into the soft moss as he took a rather aggressive bite of the squirrel. There was no way that arrogant she cat would get away with all of her spoiled actions. He swore that she acted like a kitty pet sometimes.
His silent tirade was interrupted by his mentor instructing him to finish up quickly and he glanced up, before looking back down at his meal and finishing it up rather quickly, swiping his tongue over his jaw before standing up and stretching. His dark eyes glanced around before he padded out of camp, his nose twitching a little as he followed his mentors scent.
He quickly found the small warrior at the bride, and he made his way slowly over to the tom, sitting down next to him and saying nothing. He watched Leafspark, the disdain evident in his features.
