Welcome to EveningClan
Of the Strong and Enduring!
EveningClan is one of two Clans who occupy the mountain foothills and the lowlands beneath. EveningClan, in particular, is the Clan of the mountains; considered cold and harsh by others, EveningClan cats simply know what it takes to survive in their bitter homeland. The cats of EveningClan tend to be reserved and aloof, even to members of their own Clan, and their name- the coming of the night- is very appropriate. EveningClan cats are very loyal to their Clan, and do care for the other members, but they tend not to form strong attachments to any but a very few of their Clanmates. After all, death is always just around the corner, and though they mourn for those who are lost they cannot afford to grieve deeply for every member who passes. Thus, true mourning is reserved only for those who are closest to each other. This does not mean, however, that cats would not give their lives for their Clanmates, or for their Clan as a whole. They are dedicated wholeheartedly to the well-being of the Clan as a whole, rather than the safety of its individual members, and thus the loss of a single cat for the good of the Clan is not seen as a tragedy but a necessity. Kits- and by extension their mothers- are cared for and protected above all else, as they are the future of the Clan.
In appearance, EveningClan cats tend to be large, strong, and thick-furred, all traits necessary to survive in their mountain home. Surprisingly delicate paws, well-muscled legs, and long claws help them to find footing in the narrow crevices of stones and cliffs, while thick fur in grays, white, and dull browns helps them to blend in with their barren surroundings. Any markngs they have are generally very faint, as too jarring of contrast would attrat unwanted attention from both prey and predator, and if they have a pattern it will generally be a faint tabby. Their eyes also tend to be particularly pale in color, blues being the most common color in the Clan, with pale yellow followingin close second.
Besides all of that, EveningClan cats have a rather strange tradition when it comes to naming. Kits are never truly named, and it is only when they become an apprentice that they receive a designated name. The reason for this is that in the harsh mountains, many kits do not survive, and thus parents are reluctant to give their kits meaningful names until it is sure that they will survive. Thus, kits are often called by an obvious trait- usually color or pattern- which is not their permanent name (such as "Whitekit" or "Stripekit"). When they become an apprentice, their parents will give them their permanent prefix. Because of this, cats very rarely have colors or appearance attributes as their adult names.

Camp
EveningClan's camp sits in a ravine in roughly the center of their territory. A small stream runs through the bottom, and the dens are mostly in caves, burrows, and alcoves in the sides of the ravine.

❆ Follow all forum rules, as always.
❆ No flaming, trolling, spotlighting, powerplaying, godmodding, etc.
❆ No mary sues/"perfect"characters. Your character is almost never going to be the absolute best in the land at anything. Being very good at some things (not everything), however, is entirely acceptable. Your character will be bad at some things. They will have some flaws. They will lose sometimes. Similarly, though, please don't make your character so awful that they have no good aspects and are mopey and depressed and annoyingly flawed. Give them some space to develop and improve, but also let them develop and improve.
❆ As always, keep things pg. So, no excessively graphic violence, language, or other inappropriateness. If you desire any of these things please take it to PM where it is legally out of my control.
❆ Please try to be literate and original. Make your characters and their actions unique and meaningful rather than making them from a cookie cutter with nothing personal going for them. Contribute to the plot and roleplay in a meaningful way that is enjoyable for everyone. Use good grammar, spelling, etc. At the same time, please don't write a novel every post. If you try to make things too long and complicated it gets boring and tedious. Find that comfortable middle where it's entertaining for you to write and entertaining for us to read.
❆ Please keep characters realistic in appearance. Obviously things don't have to be 100% realistic- there are plenty of tortoiseshell toms, and somewhat unrealistic pattern combinations exist, such as gray and black spotted❄ but keep the cats believable. So no purple eyes, blue stripes, or perfect star-shaped marking on their forehead.
❆ If you are gone for more than two weeks without prior warning, you will be suspended and your characters moved to the "inactive" slot. If you are gone for two weeks after this, your characters will be entirely removed. If you have any ranks- such as a leader, deputy, or medicine cat- then that character will be available for other people to claim, or (in some cases) the character may be killed off entirely.
❆ I reserve the right to reject or remove people who are not literate enough, who do not contribute well to the roleplay, who are not active, who do not keep in the spirit of the roleplay, or who do not adequately follow the above rules.
The Warrior Code
❄ Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
❄ Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
❄ Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
❄ Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
❄ A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
❄ Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
❄ A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
❄ The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
❄ After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
❄ A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
❄ Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
❄ No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
❄ The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
❄ An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
❄ A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
❄ Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
