( Hi guys. ^u^ Replying now, sorry for being slow here. )
Herontuft was still on the opposite shore, separated from his clan during the fire. He had scrambled towards the shore, but was frightened almost as much of the water as he was of the fire. He stopped close to the water, letting it lap at his paws, but feared swimming across. Pacing in the water's edge, he was about to finally run in farther, when he spotted the shape of a cat nearby. Still remaining with his paws in the water, he ran towards it. Luckily this cat was close to the lake's edge so he didn't have to go back to the forest. Recognizing the unconscious she-cat to be Aspenblaze, he let out a startled meow and nudged her. "Aspenblaze! Wake up!"
Pipit leaned a bit closer to both Finch and Vine, shivering.
Finch nodded to what she said, looking thoughtful. "... Your right. Perhaps, right now, we should focus on hunting... There where a few others of our group who swam across, besides. Perhaps we should organize them and regroup?"
Quail nodded, still smiling. "Yep, I'm sure! Besides, I can catch more later too. We all need to look out for each other."
Gazesoul remained silent as he listened to Ravenstar, although his expression looked a bit impatient, and he continually flexed and sheathed his claws, wanting to act upon something productive.
Smallnose squinted at Lichenthroat, looking annoyed. This cat had nothing to tell her. "Oh. Ok. Thanks anyways." She replied in a quiet voice, and turned to look up at Ravenstar again.

She agreed with Gazesoul; this was boring. Did he really need to call a meeting for something that cats were already planning on doing? Never mind the fact that some of them still hadn't come back from exploring yet...She pushed the thought aside. Had he anything else to say?

Vine nodded. "That would be the best, if we can have all the cats together if the other group comes back then no one will have to go back out, we can stay together." She mewed, glancing down at Pipit.
Spiderpaw was listening to the meeting, licking a paw. She sat a little ways away from the other cluster of cats.

[Is anyone else just finding it hard to focus on stuff today? I keep flitting from tab to tab on my computer, and opening + closing random files, but none of them are catching my interest. Even took a break earlier to try and read a book or something, and I couldn't focus on it enough to actually process what I was looking at.]

@bex Thats' totally alright! Your welcome to jump in like nothing happened as the rp slowed down a lot. cx It's the next morning and Ravenstar is holding a meeting, meanwhile the loners are without their leaders so Finch, Pipit and Vine are talking about what they should do. Once you respond I'll move your cats back to the main list, I just have the new system so the rp doesn't entirely stop. )
Ravenstar continued. "We'll also send out a search party to patrol some of the forest. For now, though, we need herbs, materials for dens if no shelter can be found on this island, and, of course, food." Hearing the earlier muttering of the crowd he glanced between the talking cats, adding, as he noticed Gazesouls' impatient twitching "... I know some of this are the obvious facts, but I need to make sure all of us are on the same level."
Fishing this he then followed with. "As the deputy, Brambletalons, is among the missing, I shall assign patrols, and we shall wait on picking the next deputy if... if he does not return, or is not found... or is found dead, in the next few hours. For now I ask for Mothshade to lead the search for a new camp ground, any cave or materials, or clearing in the forest will be useful- take with you Wishpaw, Rippletail, Spiderpaw, and Duskpaw. Wrenblossom and Featherpaw shall of course search for herbs and travel with you, you can help them in tehir search, we have many injured cats who are thankfully alive, but need some seeing to. Myself, Lichenthroat, Vireotooth, Smallnose, Gazesoul, Echopaw and Dreampaw shall hunt, each mentor should accompany their apprentice."
Smallnose looked uneasy and suddenly asked. "Uh, Ravenstar... I'm a bit dizzy, I must have really hit my head coming back..." She shot Gazesoul an annoyed glance. Why had he been the one to rescue her, out of all cats? "Could I stay? After all, someone needs to help Icepetal watch over the kits. Icepetal's injured and needs to also be with them, so I can stay with her, if that can be of use."
Ravenstar looked tired as eh responded. He was used to having more cats than this, and it was beginning to seem less that survived than he initially thought. "Alright... You stay here with Icepetal. When my hunting party is fished we'll gather back here and decide who will go on the search party."
Pipit relaxed, only a bit, as the other two talked, soothed by their voices.
"Alrighty then." Finch said, stretching as he stood up, shaking some sand out of his fur. "I see Storm and a few others over there for starters, they must have arrived in the night while we where resting." He responded, nodding his head towards where Storm sat with his sister and Quail and Leo talked.
"Sounds all fine and good." Responded Quail cheerfully. "I'll just bring this one to my brother and sister really quick and we can go hunting once your done, yes?"
Storm huffed, noticing his younger sibling chatting with the newer member of tehir group. Perhaps he should trust Thunder a bit more, he didn't seem so bad, but still. Putting his head back on the sand for a moment, he noticed Dove was slowly opening her eyes, and gave her a small nuzzle, slowly getting to his paws. "You feeling alright?" He asked quietly.
Herontuft nodded, eyes wide with fright. "Y-yeah I'd say so!" He responded, his voice sounding frantic. "We need to cross the-the w-water though, I'm not sure I know how to swim!"

Echopaw crouched near the back of the group, ears twitching as he listened intently for his name being called. He was put on Ravenstar's group. Standing up, the little apprentice padded over to the leader. "Are we leaving now, Ravenstar?" he meowed.
Featherpaw sat beside Wrenblossom, her tail curled over her white toes. She shot Smallnose a look at the mention of her injury, scanning over the she-cat's body for a moment before looking away. Her attention drifted away from Ravenstar, looking up at Wrenblossom beside her.
Mothshade had not been paying very much attention at the start of the meeting, his green eyes staring ahead with a blank look. When Ravenstar said his name he snapped back, sitting up straighter and looking at the leader expectantly. He was being trusted with such an important task. Once the leader seemed to have finished he stood up and raised his tail. "The cats on camp patrol, over here." He meowed into the crowd.

Spiderpaw stopped licking her paw and her left ear twitched in interest, she was going to get to go with the patrol to find new camp grounds? The apprentice let a small smirk onto her muzzle and showed more interest in what Ravenstar was saying. She looked over at Mothshade when he called for the camp patrol cats and padded over, her tail held high in the air.
Vine stood up as well, making sure to still keep her tail resting on Pipit's back so he knew she was still here and ready to comfort him if needed. "Alright then, we probably should go get them and see who's all fit for hunting." She meowed, grimacing at all the sand stuck to her tabby fur.

Ravenstar jumped down from his perch, nodding to Echopaw. "Yes, we should leave now."
Duskpaw stood up and nudged Wishpaw, not noticing Wishpaw intent look at Dreampaw. "Looks like we're going back out to explore again, come oen Wishpaw, we need to join Mothshade."
Herontuft nodded and stepped back towards the water, paws shaking a bit. "Uh... hoping... hoping for the best." He muttered, slowly wading into the water.
Pipit stood up, too, trying to act a bit more confident, but still quivering slightly with fear.
Finch nodded and began heading over to where he'd seen Storm.

She could definitely do that. Rippletail smirked, then got to her feet and began looking around for Spiderpaw. Seeing that her apprentice had already made her way over to the patrol cats, the Bombay mix fell in line besides her. "This should be interesting, at the very least," she drawled. ~~~~~ Herb hunting was always a good thing! Hopefully, they could find more than they already had...they were going to need it. Straightening up, Wrenblossom practically marched her way over to the patrol. ~~~~~ Hunting? Oh joy. They'd never been particularly good at that, what with their crepe-paper thin skin and all. Lichenthroat moved closer towards Ravenstar. |
