clan description
Nestled amongst the rich, lush foliage halfway down the side of the smallest mountain in an extensive, large mountain range is where Summitclan makes its home and presence known. An overall protective yet benevolent clan that specializes in out-of-clan trading it is not entirely uncommon to see loners and rogues joining the clan ranks periodically, leaving purebred-obsessive behavior to be very rare. Putting to use their anthropomorphic attributes of exposable thumbs and the ability to move briefly on two hind legs these cats have formed their own unique community in relation to their surroundings. Cats who have joined from outside the clan often do not have these attributes- but the clan works to accommodate them into their ranks, as there is always opportunity for success. Adapting to the ways of the mountain, Summitclan cats have recognizable traditions that differentiate them from their usual housecoat counterparts. For one, they have molded their ranks around their surroundings, resulting in the following list: leader, commander, healer, mountaineers, minerunners, artisans, apprentices, queens, kits, and elders.
Their intelligence and physical positives have lent them an uncanny ability to create resulting in the clan tradition for everyone to wear a collar- no collar of kittypet origin or petty trophy, but of metal. Starting at the beginning of apprenticeship to the end of their lives the cats of Summitclan wear a rank-specific collar made of forged metal from the multitude of natural bounty in the mountains. The cats also make use of the many gemstones found in the deep ground crevices and etched these jewels into their collars for rank-specific meanings. Below is a list of clan ranks, collars, and gemstones utilized by the clan:
Leader -- The head figure of the clan, the leader is a feline with a very strong connection to the ancestors in Starclan and is therefore also the spiritual connection of the clan. Their collar is made of gold alloy while their jewels are what they've accumulated through their lives with the addition of a moonstone.
Commander -- The next high-ranking figure beneath the leader, this feline is the deputy and second-in-command of the clan and next destined to be leader should their current one leave or die. Their collar is made of gold alloy while their jewels are what they've accumulated through their lives with the addition of a sapphire.
Healer -- The medicine cats of the clan, only two are allowed, and these cats are well-versed in herbs and although they are not the direct spiritual connection they interpret indirect omens and visions from Starclan and have a strong connection to the earth. Their collar is made of gold alloy while their rank-specific jewel is lapis lazuli
Healer's Apprentice -- Being taught to become one of the next healers, this cat is paw-picked by the healer or by other circumstance and are well-versed in the ways of medicine. Their collar is made of bronze while their rank-specific jewel is a small lapis lazuli.
Mountaineers -- Part of the "warrior" division of the clan, the Mountaineers are cats who know the mountain and the territory very well and often spend much time in the territory mapping and finding a lay of the landscape. Each Mountaineer is a pair with a Minerunner and together they travel the territory in search of metals and jewels- these cats often are the ones collecting and carrying metals and jewels. Their collar is made of platinum and their rank-specific jewel is peridot with the addition of garnet.
Minerunners -- Part of the "warrior" division of the clan, the Minerunners know the underground like it was the above and are very well-versed in the abandoned mineshafts and other caverns within the territory. Each Minerunner is a pair with a Mountaineer and together they travel the territory in search of metals and jewels- these cats often are the ones finding metals and jewels. Their collar is made of platinum and their rank-specific jewel is peridot with the addition of opal.
Blacksmiths -- Part of the artisan division of the clan, the Blacksmiths know the ways of fire and the forge and put their anthropomorphic abilities to use creating metal and gemstone products for the clan. Their collar is made of iron and their rank-specific jewel is ruby with the addition of topaz.
Weavers -- Part of the artisan division of the clan, the Weavers put their thumbs to use creating important tradeable materials for the clan, especially pottery, as well as administrating over the work of the other artisan ranks. Their collar is made of platinum and their rank-specific jewel is ruby with the addition of emerald.
Jewelers -- Part of the artisan division of the clan, the Jewelers are the ones who set gems to collars as well as preside over the trade-deals of the clan and are the cats most-often brought along to trading expeditions to outsiders and often learning the languages of other species. Their collar is made of platinum and their rank-specific jewel is ruby with the addition of turquoise.
Apprentices -- The new, training generation of the clan, these young felines can choose to follow in the path that was foreseen for them by the visions and omens sent to the leader and healers or they may choose their own rank. Their collar is bronze while they have a petite-sized version of the rank-specific jewels of their intended rank.
Queens -- Perhaps one of the most worshipped of the ranks, the queens are very well taken care of as they provide the very life of the clan. Their collar and jewels remain as they were in regular life with the addition of a rose quartz for each litter they have.
Kits -- Young ones opening their eyes to what life is, these cats become the future of the clan. When they are born, the leader and healers are given visions and omens of what Starclan suggests the rank the kit should follow, although they don't have to adhere to this. Although they do not have a collar these kits are given a citrine stone to follow them throughout their lives.
Elders -- Cats who have served their time in the clan, these cats are an endless source of knowledge and wisdom of the past. Their collar and jewels remain the same as they were in regular life.
Not rank-specific gemstones:
Citrine -- The clan stone, each cat receives this stone from their birth or official joining of the clan. This stone stays with a cat throughout their lives and is removed from collar to collar as the cat progresses through their life and it is often considered bad-luck to crack or remove it.
Jade -- This is the jewel used in burial services and is buried alongside the deceased for good luck in the afterlife and to the family they left behind.
Rose Quartz -- For every litter a cat has, the queen and the sire (as well as any surrogates or surrogate configurations) have this gem etched to their collar.
Morganite - When a cat gets married, those involved have this stone etched to their collar. If one wishes to break off, the stone is removed and crushed (it can be kept by a cat, but who knows why?) and a new one is used for when/if the cat gets married again.
Amethyst -- This stone is etched to a cat's collar for every apprentice they train fully to the next rank.

Follow all forum rules
- - In addition to our rules you must also abide by the rules stated by the forum itself.
Respect
- - This should be a simple rule, yes? Unfortunately I have seen it broken far too many times in multiple roleplays everywhere. Please, I ask all members to respect authority and each other so we may all have a pleasant experience roleplaying here. With the Proboards ability to PM someone I ask that you refrain from harassing anyone, whether in this roleplay or another. If found you have been, you will be kicked from the roleplay. If you are having a problem with another member I ask instead of bringing it up in the clan roleplay page that you PM the moderators and we will handle it. Do not mini-mod other members unless a true rule is being broken and the moderators are not here to stop it.
Activity
- - As is the standard- why join a clan you know you can't be active in? Everyone needs to be online at a minimum of three days a week making actual roleplay posts where high-ranking cats should be online at a minimum of four days a week. This may seem like a lot but in reality it is what creates a clan and keeps it going! Besides, don't you all want to use your characters together? It'll be a lot of fun!
Literacy
- - This roleplay is a literate community which means if you are notorious for short posts and wrong grammar, I kindly ask that you do not join this group. I do not want to see anyone creating posts of only two-three sentences and speak in first person, second person, or have wrong grammar.
An example of what you should not be roleplaying:
"leaf kit Stood and went outside. she saw many warriors and walked to them and sat down with them and listened in their talk. "I now the territory 2, i've been there" She said."
A rule that is good to follow is that if it looks or sounds anything like Starkit's Prophecy, delete it immediately and do it again. That is not literacy. This group will be asking for a roleplay sample when you join. On average, our members should be writing at least 5 sentences in their roleplay which are not fluff words but casually describe your cat, their emotions and actions, and their interactions with other characters and the environment. Proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation are a must.
Character Creation
- - Now, we all love our characters, right? But please remember you can't try and force another person to like your character through mary-sue and gary-sue adjectives and actions. Your character can be beautiful or handsome to you, but not in your joining forms or descriptions of your character. Try using synonym adjectives such as instead of saying "the most beautiful blue eyes" you can instead try "glittering pools of gentle blue". Frankly, I find that beautiful instead of simply saying "beautiful blue eyes". All cats must have realistic to semi-realistic coat and eye colors- this is not a strict genetics roleplay or else it would take all the fun out so some things are allowed. Just be aware neon colors and wings, for example, ain't gonna be in this roleplay.
Realism
- - This is a semi-realistic roleplay only in the sense that these cats are movement anthropomorphic, meaning they have the ability to walk unsteadily on their hind legs to complete certain tasks and have exposable thumbs on their paws. Now, with this said, this in no way means they are humans. They are still regular cats which have those abilities and have used them to create materials. I do not want to see any cats primarily using their hind legs to walk or whisking a cup out of thin air to drink tea. That is not part of this roleplay. I expect since this ability has been given to you that you all will do well not to mis-use it.
Drama & Plots
- - Plots and "drama" are often used to spruce-up a roleplay and make it more interesting to people willing to join. This roleplay is no different and will be using consistent plots and side-plots to keep the roleplay moving or taking a different direction. However, please refrain from creating your own plots or side-plots unless reviewed and accepted by the moderators of this roleplay. If you wish to be involved in a grand-scale plot that is already going on, you need only ask, but do not start throwing your characters out there and spotlighting yourself or your cats.
Ranks
- - Please, I ask that you do not attempt to join as a leader, commander, or any rank that is of high importance. This is not to say you and your characters are not important, no! But this is to ensure that the moderators pick people and characters that are able to handle such important ranks in the clan. You cannot join as a healer but you may join as healer's apprentice to which you will then work your way up to being a healer yourself. If you are chosen for a high-rank please be aware of the trust and responsibility you are being given and be sure to follow activity rules and likewise- if you think you can't do it, please notify the moderators.
Misc.
- - Kit-___ of any kind is forbidden in this roleplay. Those who have not joined this roleplay are not allowed to roleplay anywhere on this page. I ask people who are not part of this roleplay to refrain from posting anywhere on this page unless you are explaining that you will be joining soon. Advertising of other clans and roleplays is forbidden. There will be no spamming of this page or any inappropriate behavior going on. LGBT+ is welcomed- if you are against these characters or people, please do not join this roleplay or harass anyone who is a part of it. Please do not copy or steal anything from this roleplay or its members.
Enforcement
- - As is fair, this roleplay will be operating on a three-strike basis. If you break any of these rules you will earn a strike and for every individual rule you break you will be receiving another strike. For every strike you receive a warning with be PMed to you- I will have a list of every member in this roleplay as well as their strike count and why they received a strike. Please don't try to throw one over me and think I don't notice or that I've forgotten if you have any other strikes, believe me, I know your strike count and why you got them. Do not try to argue with the moderators when we tell you that you have a strike, just accept it and move on. If you have three strikes you will be removed from this group. After three real-time weeks you will be allowed to join again but any sort of rule-breaking, even just one rule, will result in you being removed forever. So what if you have some strikes and want to get rid of them? If you are active and on for at least the minimum activity requirement (read above rules) then every two real-time weeks a strike that you received will be taken away and you will be PMed about this. If you are a high rank and are kicked out you may not re-join as that high rank again.

► territory
A territory that expands the entirety of the smallest mountain in a long, large mountain range, it is often lush and rich and experiences all four seasons- although cold is found more often throughout the year than not.
Shepherd's Highlands -- The hilly meadows where herds of sheep graze, often watched over by a few twolegs with very long, curved sticks and their dogs. The grass grows thick and soft here, with some herbs and other plants, but the sheep often get to them before the healers do. Cats must be cautious when hunting or patrolling here, for the sheep can be quite clumsy and can easily crush a cat beneath their hooves, and the twoleg's dogs are swift-footed brutes!
Charred Husk Forest -- A forest of creepy, white-burned trees that are now dead husks. Not many branches still grace the trunks, and no birds or animals chatter among the forest. The ground is practically made of thick, sandy ashes and soot. The only thing this place is good for now is plant and herb hunting as well as taking a quiet walk.
Ram Ridge -- The tall, rocky peaks of the mountains, with thin soil and many stones. Wild mountain sheep live atop these peaks, with large, twisted horns and the tendency to stampede if they get startled, making herds of them very dangerous to hunt or patrol near.
Golden Springs -- A natural, large spring pool nestled into the side of the mountain, it gets its name from the minerals in the water that give it a golden tinge, it's healing properties, and the often yellow-tinted leaves of the foliage surrounding it.
Spring River -- A river that begins at some point near the top of the mountain and travels down to the bottom to fall into a cave-system and a larger pool called the Cavern Falls.
Sinkpaw Hollow -- A clearing within the valley that's covered with a thick, deep carpet of flowering ground plants and mosses. The ground is very soft and gentle thanks to these plants, and it's a popular place to train. The clearing itself wasn't named after a cat named Sinkpaw, but it was named after how a cat's paws sink down into the bushy rug of plants below.

A small rock opening in the mountain is the entrance, covered in dripping moss and other foliage, and braced by a multitude of large boulders. Step-like, large rocks create a staircase down from the entrance to the floor of the cavern. The cavern itself is made entirely of stone and is very tall and wide (taller than it is wide, perhaps) and covered in patches of moss, dripping vines, and other natural foliage and ferns. There are miscellaneous small and large holes in the roof of their cavern allowing sunlight into the would-be very dark cavern as well as rainwater which falls into dips in the floor made from past rains. The leader's den is an odd-shaped, smooth-stoned rock formation near the back of the cavern facing the entrance where an opening was found to have a den in. The healer's den is by the largest rainwater dip in which there is always water in the pool- it is a tall crack in the side of the cavern wall that has been reinforced inside by rocks and foliage with many natural rock shelving and space. The mountaineer and minerunner's den is a gaping hole in the main cavern with evidence of having been a mine long ago- the den is a large space to fit many and a pile of huge, collapsed rocks makes it impossible to follow the mine route further back. The artisan's den is a deceptively small crevice in a pile of rocks that leads to a much bigger space in which each artisan rank has their own 'workshop'- Blacksmiths occupy another small mineshaft that runs parallel to the entrance and has multiple holes in the roof to allow for fire smoke to dissipate, Weavers occupy a dip in the floor with an overhang above them with multiple shelves for materials and such, Jewelers occupy a pile of rubble that has no roof, gaining light directly from a hole in the main cavern roof. The apprentice's den is a small mineshaft that seemed to have once been connected to what is the Blacksmith's mine and the Mou/Mi's mine but huge boulders make it it impossible to ever know. The nursery is a hole in the wall that is above the cavern floor, needing a few well-placed, even rocks to create a side staircase to the warm, large space that receives warmth from the heat of Blacksmith fires through the stone walls directly beside it. The elder's den is a dip in the floor almost entirely covered by a rubble roof with a multitude of natural foliage growing in and around it. Miscellaneous mineshafts and small caves connected to Artisan workshops serve as storage rooms for materials |

A masculine of huge stature who easily towers over the majority if not all of his clanmates. A sturdy, lean figure with strong bones create his structure as it is lined and filled with thick muscles and leaving little to no loose skin to be seen- quite accurately being made of strength. Large paws sheathing sharp, off-white claws completes the logistics of this male's foundation. Over this figure runs a coat of velvet skin and short, glossy pelage that briefly thickens during the wintery moons. The color is a soft tan-cream that is solid throughout his coat, broken only by piebald-like white fountain spouts of markings that envelope his chest and splash beneath his chin. His massive paws have their toes dipped in such white as well as the very tip of his long, thick, whipcord tail. His ears are average-sized for a cranium such as his- a broad, defined platelet with a long, expansive muzzle with a width almost as much as his platelet. Housed within this feature are two almond-shaped optics where each is colored a bright, soft mint-green shade. At his throat starts a massive, long scar that curls from one side of his jugular to the other to then travel over the left side of his neck and continue to bow around his shoulder and end behind his left shoulder blade.

Summitclan-born, this male was created to traverse the mountain landscape the clan calls home. It was no surprise his Starclan-suggested rank be a Mountaineer- a creature known for his skills, quickly becoming a shining mountain-traveler did not come with much difficulty for him with his Minerunner pairing of a much smaller male, Sparrowchirp. Together they used their combined wits to conquer all they saw and even found an abandoned kit, Foggyfuzz, who they raised as their own in a healthy family although the two toms did not have a mateship or married status to one another. Of course it was fate who kept things from being happy for long- the aggressive bear found in one of the mineshafts during their runs which took almost the entire clan to bring down and cost Sparrowchirp his life. Continuing to rise through the ranks, Cougargrowl became Cougarstar, a strong and enigmatic ruler with a massive scar to forever chase him and serve as a reminder of the friend he'd lost.

A creature of tall height and yet with a figure made of firm, lean muscle and flexible structure. A robust yet naturally lean and flexible bone make up his foundation with a lining of average muscles sloping elegantly across his line. Medium-sized paws sheathing dulled but strong off-white claws complete his base look. Coating this figure is velvet skin and a pelage of medium-length strands that is dense and soft at the heat of the skin while becoming coarse and wiry at the tips with fur pluming at his cheeks, stomach, haunches, between his toes, and developing into a nicely plumed tail- of course, what's left of it! Such a pelage is a sultry shade of russet red that travels the expanse of his fur and is marked by soft, soot-darker agouti tick patterning that leaves elegant shadowed smudges along his spine and tail. The base red dissipates into a soft creamy undertone that runs under his chin and creates his undercoat patterning that travels the expanse of his chest, stomach, and the underneath of his tail. His cranium is well-built and wedge-shaped with a defined platelet and a tapering muzzle ending in a leather nose. Housed in such a contraption lies two large, almond-shaped optics both colored a vibrant, lively yellow-copper. What used to be a beautifully-plumed tail is now left a crinkled line with multiple breaks in the tail, leaving it to appear "crumpled".

A male prized for his beauty even as a kit despite a slightly deformed tail line, Foxkit was beloved by almost everyone and it was no surprise Starclan suggested he become a jeweler's apprentice. As he rose in rank to become one of the best with his work- and with the ladies and gentlemen- his admiration of the famous tag-team of Cougargrowl and Sparrowchirp grew. He was one of the cats called to the scene to assist when the pair was attacked by a bear, where Foxhowl had his already-twisted tail further mangled when he was injured in the fight by rocks. He was renamed "Crumpledtail" and assigned to become a healer by the leader before Cougarstar because of his loss of balance. However, he doesn't mind this post, and his cheery spirits have not dwindled since his rename or reassignment although he can sometimes be found lamenting over the loss of his balance and tail.

She is faded calico with a grey patch covering most of her face and tail and patching throughout the rest of her coat. Her ears are a buff color which is also mottled along with the grey, giving up space only on her legs, underbelly, and chest for a soft creamy white. Her eyes are large, round, and wide, giving a very soft expression. Their pale olive coloring is neither intrusive or startling, nor particularly striking. While her tail lightens towards it's end of white, her face darkens as it reaches for her nose and muzzle, into a very dark grey patch. Her nose is small and is split, black and pink. [ Quiet | Loyal | Intelligent | Determined | Amiable | Stubborn | Sly | Critical | Moody | Untrusting ] Featherfall was Summitclan born and raised and had a fairly normal kit-hood and apprenticeship, even if she didn't speak much. A medium-sized molly with an elegant and yet muscular body is what creates this feline. A lean line with a semi-foreign body type, falling in a moderate scale somewhere between Oriental and Persian structure- athletic but not bulky, and with a fine-boned structure and well-formed muscles, high shoulders, and long limbs creates the foundation. Covering such a figure runs velvet skin and a coat of medium-length strands that are plush, glossy, and thick even as it runs off in notable plumes off her cheeks, neck, elbows, haunches, and tail. This pelage is colored a blue-smoke tone with the plush elegance of a Russian Blue's rare coat paired with softer edges and shading that runs throughout her fur. The lighter and cream-colored areas are relatively soft-shaded and not abrupt or startling in appearance although they are enough to be easily noticed and recognized that her fur is indeed not a solid- her fur is tipped in a gentle silver. A modified wedge creates her cranium with a regal platelet that is more pointed than rounded and a tapering muzzle that ends in a charcoal black nose. Housed in this are two averagely set-apart, slightly oval-shaped optics that are both colored a startling, bright blue- her ears are relatively large.

Abandoned at the edge of Summitclan territory is where Foggyfuzz was found moons ago by the famous traveling pair of Cougargrowl and Sparrowchirp. Taking her back to the clan, the young males decided to raise her as a strong familial unit although the two toms did not have a mate or married relationship with one another. Starting out mischievous, she gave her two dads a run for their money, until the fateful bear attack that had left many of the clan injured or even dead- her Sparrowchirp included. Although she was young at the time, she remembers it well, and does all she can to be what her adoptive father was- a Minerunner.
Sometimes she seems to speak to thin air but none of the older clanmates seem to care- when asked, they explain "She's talking to Sparrowchirp, leave her alone."

A medium-sized molly with a heavy-boned structure is what creates this odd breed. Sturdy and heavy-boned with a muscular curling of her figure that makes her structure closer to the Persian side of body types. Her paws are average compared to her body although they do lean slightly towards the larger side as do her toes and claws. One would think she'd covered herself in sheep- this molly's coat is a soft, wooly sort that is styled in natural loose, light, bouncy curls that ruffle out somewhat messily at her cheeks and haunches and peeks up between her toes. Such a pelt is colored a tricolor blending of dark shades of black-brown, cream, and russet red and various shades of said colors. An almost smoke pattern, this calico has a pelt that is not black but closer towards a brown-tinted shade that creates her base. This color is then patches loosely by an almost lilac-cream color splashed about her figure with no set pattern or destination. Further upon this heap comes smaller shreds of a vibrant color that is a dark burnt in some areas and a bright flash in others. She has a rounded cranium with full cheeks and a broad face with a muzzle that is almost considered a Persian although elongated enough not to be. Housed in this cranium are two large, rounded optics each colored a burning orange-gold. Her ears are oddly folded forward in the fashion of a Scottish Fold breed.

This cat's older family members had migrated to the clan after her grandmother married into Summitclan, bringing the whole family with her to reside in the clan. In this sort, she is considered clan-born, although her pelage and ear-shape clearly suggest her different gene pool.

Cougarstar & Foggyfuzz || Early morning ►
A warm shaft of natural brilliance gushed from the gap shred in the roof, dissolving to dissipate sweetly against the velvet skin of the masculine spread to a lounge above the cavern floor. Intelligent mulls scintillated within the keen gaze that swept regally to the felines nestled in sleep or awaking sluggishly to the early morning crisp. The lower half of the masculine still shrouded in a shade, it was still clear his identity curled atop his den's smoothed swirls and capsizes, perched at the tip of the overhang. Although ease kept the king's impressive muscle mass relatively slack, their presence was unmistakable and intimidating as sinews tightened and relaxed rhythmically to the beat of his lungs. Attentiveness settled at the stern visage, the set jaw, minted optics languorous as they glistened to the cavern below. Although a leader he was, the king had not lost his traveling ethic, and on such a day such as now his skin itched minutely to be free of the cave and be bestowed to the slopes of the territory. When Sparrowchirp was still alive, the two would have already left for their daily duties- now, the remaining of the match sat caged atop his throne, perhaps waiting for the opportunity to lead an early patrol.
And perhaps the king stayed where he was, yet to utilize his regal call to command together a sizable group, to continue to guard the sleeping creature who was nestled against his velvet side. The much smaller feline had followed him to the outcrop, her vibrant optics having nestled upon his shifting form when there had yet to be a shred of light dripping from the rooftop. Curled within the crook of his size, so small in comparison to him despite her warrior status, the princess had fallen asleep once more. Even her deepened breaths had synchronized to her adoptive father's gentle breaths, a long, whipcord tail laid against her much fluffier plume. She was apt to visit Crumpledtail today, but only after her morning duties- the healer was usually never awake until the afternoon, much to everyone's dismay.
Blackpaw || Early morning ►
Such a creature had become accustomed long ago to the mineshaft that had become her resting place, curled atop her mossy nest within the darkness of the cavern. She had chosen a place close to the entrance, the angle of one of the roof's shreds glistening to the floor in front of the den's entrance. Molten optics as though having been sun-kissed for moons had glistened open long ago, peering at the shifting light with a relaxed intrigue as one who had just awakened. Woolly coat shifted obediently from her lungs' beat, heaving a soft sigh from her moist nose as the molly ruffled herself to right her chest, balancing on her elbows and her stocky paws stretched before her figure. A soft flick of fluffy plume, folded ears drooping in her abrupt shifting to an upright settlement. Molten optics shifted to peer further into the camp, around at an angle catching the light of her golden-tanned leader as though he were the sun, warm beach sand, and the cooler-toned molly sleeping beside him. As young as she was, even Blackpaw recognized the strong connection between them even though they had no blood relation.
