Firewind padded out of the warriors' den when he heard his name. "Patrol?" He asked, shaking the sleep from his eyes.
Amberheart skipped over, having overheard Featherstar.

Gullpaw sat ouutside the medicine den, watching the clan. He had a few herbs at his feet, which he was sorting. As he sorted them, he mumbled their names and uses.

Shadewillow looked at her apprentice nervously. She approached him on unsteady paws, breathing anxiously as she always did when about to talk. "I... I hope you know the names of all those. Can you say them to me?" She asked.

He flinched, not realizing she was there. He glanced back, "O-oh. S-sorry. T-these are yarrow, used to induce vomiting?" He said pointing to a pile of yarrow. "T-these are... are... Marigolds, right? They're used for... um..." He said, pointing to a pile of dandelions.

"Well, mostly right. Marigold is mainly used for combatting infection, but can be also used for aching pawpads and they are often used in poultices for healing wounds. They're actually here." Shadewillow flicked her tail to a different pile of herbs. "You're right about the yarrow though." Simply talking about herbs made her more at ease, becoming less anxious immediately.

Autumnleaf licked Fawnkit gently as the other three wrestled clumsily.

Brindlewing smelled something dreadful. He saw a red bushy tail and then huge snarling teeth! He crouched down. WHY SO CLOSE TO CAMP! He slammed his paw acrossed its huge muzzle.
Maplefern was in fear. She felt her body pulse and tremble.

Brindlewing leaped and held the fox. He felt its fury beneath him. He leaped back as it swung around to bite him. Brindlewing glanced at his sister who was shaking and looked terrified.
Maplefern looked at brindlewing Wow he is brave She soon realized she froze. Leaped forward and gripping a hold of one of the fox's ears, she got flung back and hit her side on a tree. Limping forward, she managed to leap in front of it. "How dare you attack waterclan!" She hissed. IT lunged at her and flung her across the ground after gripping her leg.

Gullpaw finished sorting his herbs and wrapped them in beech leaves. He then put them with the other herbs, and relaxed. He didn't get to relax often, and he cherished the moment. He drifted off into thought.

Amberheart cried out as the fox dug its teeth into her foreleg and threw her. She slammed into a tree and fell limp to the ground, unconscious.
Firewind yowled in fury and charged at the fox, baring his teeth, and lunged at the fox's throat, digging his teeth in deep, tasting the foul flavor of fox blood in his mouth, but he refused to let go, even as the fox clawed at him.

Bramblewing ran to Maplefern. "Are you okay!?" He frantically asked his sister. Her right front leg was covered in blood and she has a missing clump of fur around her neck. She looked terrible.
Maplefern's whole world went dark. She heard her brother meow to her. She opened her eyes and felt dizzy. "i......" She joked up some fox fur. "i...don't fee- feel good" she tried standing but failed.
Brindlewing then ran to the fox. He attempted to drive it backwards adaway

Firewind roughly pulled away from the fox, practically ripping its throat out. The fox fell to the ground, dead. He ran over to where Amberheart was still unconscious and gave her a gentle lick on the head. Then, he turned to Brindlewing. "Brindlewing, run back to camp. Get Shadewillow and Gullpaw, then tell Featherstar what happened," he ordered briskly, gently trying to wake Amberheart.
Amberheart remained unconscious beneath the tree she had hit.

Sagewhisker gave a slow nod, dipping her head and padding away from Gullpaw slowly to throw out some old herbs. "I'll te...te..s...test you soon again." She called back, stuttering snd stumbling over her words just like she did as a kit for a moment. Feeling a prick of embarrassment, she turned to a pile of horsetail and picked out the shrivelled leaves intently.

Brindlewing nodded. Still in shock. He pelted to camp and busted through the entrance. "Shadewillow! Gullpaw! we ned you. There has been a fox attack, Amberheart and Maplefern were badly injured." He yowled. Sprinting to featherstar. "Featherstar, there has been a fox attack. Firewind managed to kill it but there are two warriors badly injured." He felt uneasy.
Maplefern managed to stand on three legs. Her front right leg felt unsteady and broken. She felt blood drain from her ear. Reaching up with her hurt paw she felt that the nick had opened up and was draining like a river over a waterfall.

Firewind looked over at Maplefern. "Maplefern, you should lay down. Help will be here soon."
Featherstar jumped up. "Ripplefur and Sunsplash, go with Shadewillow, Gullpaw, and Brindlewing to where the fox attacked. I want you to search the area and make sure there was only one fox."

Shadewillow gasped. She sprinted out of her den to Maplefern immediately, leading her into the den and checking her for injuries. The warrior's leg seemed to be nearly broken, there was a huge nick in her ear, and many other scratches too everywhere. "Just a moment...." She murmured, completely lost in the moment as she rushed to get herbs and making poultices. "You'll be okay."

Gullpaw heard frantic yelling by the entrance to the camp. At once he sprung up, and he ran to see what was going on. He skidded to a halt, he saw Brindlewing, and smelled something on his pelt. He managed to stutter out, "W-w-hats g-going on?" He glanced around.
(Is Maple at camp?)

Maplefern looked at firewind. "The day i die is the day i will just lay there after a battle." She meowed. "Battles happen, we live and we die. There is always a chance we can die in battle We almost always will get injured, We all knew that when we were made warriors. It is our duty to defend the clan from danger even if we get hurt in the process. That fox could of got to the camp, it could of harmed Autumnleaf and her kits. I can't have that happening. I will fight until the day i die, under featherstar as a leader or any cat." Maplefern tried to stand on all four but winced in pain.
Brindlewing waited at the entrance.

Amberheart groaned where she lay. Her head was throbbing, she felt dizzy, there was a scratch over her right eye that was bleeding heavily, and her neck screamed with pain whenever she tried to move. There were deep scratches along her right flank.
Firewind gently licked Amberheart's wounds. "Don't move," he murmured to her. "You'll be fine, soon." He looked at Maplefern. "I understand your courage, but you are badly injured. You shouldn't be moving too much. You hit your head, and your leg is probably broken."

Shadewillow gave Maplefern a little nudge. "You need to rest up." She mewed briskly, chewing up her poultice and applying it to Maplefern's ear gently. Looking down at the she-cat's leg, she took a stick and began getting to work on attaching it as a splint.
