Turtlenose walked from the medicine cats den and was heading toward the freshkill pile when he heard Gingerkit trying to convince anyone to take her to the lake. Well... I could pick up a few herbs while I'm out. I don't see why she can't come along.. He padded over, amused by the kits excitement, "I'll take you Gingerkit, I've got to gather some herbs anyway. But, you have to promise to stay close by me and not to wonder..." He warned warm heartedly.

Gingerkit's head swiveled over to the approaching medicine cat, and as soon as she heard him begin the offer to take her to the lake her paws danced with excitement. "Yes! Yay, yes- I promise Turtlenose! I'll be good!" Few things in the world made the large kit happier than a trip to the water on a hot Greenleaf day. "Do we get to leave now?"

Turtlenose gave a little chuckle as he watched the kit's paws twitch with excitement. "Yes let's be on our way, can't have you out for too long, the other kits will be jealous." He turned and began walking toward the entrance of the camp.

Gingerpaw bounded after Turtlenose as he made his way to the clan entrance. She hesitated for a moment at the threshold- leaving the clan camp always filled the kit with a sense of unease. The moment was just that- a moment- as thoughts of swimming in the cool water of Mirror Lake pushed her forward. Ears still pricked for any sound of danger, Gingerpaw followed Turtlenose closely. With a spring in her step, she looked up at Turtlenose. His sleek white fur shimmered in the bright sun. "Why were you called Turtlenose? You don't look like a turtle to me!" She asked pointedly.

Quakefur shifted slightly, his tail tip twitching uneasily. He was suprised on how easily he had talked with Wildmist uet he was even more surprised that he didn't care for the reason. The only thing he didn't like is the fact that she is like a daughter to Shaleheart.

Blue eyes blinked in surprise at the sight of Wildmist but Quakefur smiled slightly none the less. "Hey. I'd thought you'd stay longer" he commented, gesturing to the spot next to him for her to take a seat if she'd like.

"I mean I think it's pretty obvious" Gingkerkit smiled and licked one of her ginger spots to emphasize her point. "And I do not smell! I just cleaned!" she protested. She paused as she considered Turtlenose's question. Her warrior name... she had been so focused on her impending apprenticeship that she hadn't even thought about becoming a warrior. "Uhhhh... how am I supposed to know? That's for Fallenstar to decide," she meowed, avoiding having to think of a real answer. Her thoughts turned inward as she pondered the question. Her warrior name.... Ginger....Tail? No, her tail wasn't even ginger. Gingerheart? She had always thought that was a brave-sounding suffix. "I don't know.." she mewed aloud in response to her own thoughts.

Gingerkit grinned- Turtlenose was right, the kits would even play games betting on who eachother's mentors would be. "I want Rippleleaf. He's so cool.. and strong! Plus, he isn't so serious like some of the other mentors. I couldn't stand being with some grumpy old warrior." She stated matter-of-factly. Her rambunctious personality wouldn't exactly mesh with a more serious cat.

Quakefur let out a tiny snicker at her words and licked a paw. He dragged the paw over his ears a few times while speaking next "That she-cat loves her sleep almost as much as she loves you and Gingerkit. " he said, turning to smile at her. The smile was almost invisible but the smile was there.

Quakefur's ears lowered slightly at the mention of the yell and he shrugged "Yeah. I got yelled at by her. When I tried to defend myself, it just got worse from there. What can I say?" he explained with a shrug, forcing his ears to relax at that point.

Quakefur was left spluttering for a moment, looking at her with startled eyes. "A-apologize? I'm just going to get yelled at for waiting so long!" He squeaked out. The question actually startled the tom it was so unexpected.
