"Merlinpaw, I said, get down." Littleear lowered his voice, staring down his apprentice. No matter how old the rogue was or if they were related to anyone in the clan, they were still a rogue and he was still an apprentice. "That's an order!"

Merlinpaw hissed again, but made his way down the tree and leaped the last couple of metres to land gracefully on the damp ground, his tail lashing in frustration and his fur prickling with resentment as he glared at the ground, unable to decide who he was most annoyed with - his mentor, the rogue or himself.

"Hey, Breezestar's deputy!" Yew replied excitedly, "May Starclan guide your paws, warrior cats!" She said, a gentleness seeping into her throat, "You were one who fought for my sister, Shadestar!" She said in great respect, and smiled, "He is your apprentice, yes? Remember to make sure he doesn't sneak out of camp!" She reminded. She wa seeing a little rude, and very nice, unusual, but for some reason, she trusted cats who did fight for good, or...semi-trusted them. "Tell Breezestar hero from Yew, who should know who I am, and see ya around..." she said, and smiled, "Merlinpaw!" She said.
Starlingwisp watched confused, and growled, "She's the annoying sister of Nightpaw, she only stays here to watch her sister, and Shadestar asked we watched her anyways, doesn't mean she should keep bothering us, pesky rogue..." She told Merlinpaw. "You need to listen to your mentor anyways, do you know how dangerous it is to be alone in this forest?" The she-cat demanded, her eyes strict and serious. "When I was an apprentice, a fox attacked my sister and I, it blinded her in one eye and permanently injured my paw, if I was alone, I'd be dead, you just be more careful!" She growled, she was only trying to get her point across.

☁︎ out of character ☁︎ i kind of want to have some of the kittens to be called shadekit and moonkit as a tribute to her two friends ?
☁︎ roleplay ☁︎ Sagestreak heard the familiar sound of Cloudpaw's voice, and she called out. "Hey, Cloudpaw, is that you?" It was always nice to have an apprentice visit, even though she would sometimes get snappy with them. The nursery could sometimes get so lonely, with only Juniperfrost to keep her company. She could never hate it though. She gently licked her belly, which was swollen. This is all for you, darlings. When she was a young cat, she had always assumed that she would never take a mate or have kittens, and she would always be the same snarky cat. A lot had changed since then though. She realised her sexuality, decided that she wanted kittens, and bitterest of all, she had lost some of her closest friends. She tried to hold back tears. There wasn't a day gone by where she didn't think of Shadestar. She could have done so much if she hadn't died young. She tried to hold back the thoughts. You're bringing new life into the world, so stop mourning over lost ones. She realised that she was getting lost in her thoughts and focused back on Cloudpaw. "Do come in!"

Lucid | 30 moons | Female | Loner | *ShatteringStar*
She is a small smoky gray she-cat with lovely soft fur and piercing yellow eyes. She is a very unpredictable cat and will usually taunt others to get what she wants. Mysterious, secretive, ambitious, and sly, Lucid calculates her next motives well and always has something up her sleeve. She's never known the meaning of love even though she's often flirtatious. Not much is know about her, but she does pop up from time to time and she sometimes helps the clan if it's beneficial to her.
Emeraldblaze | 35 moons | Male | Warrior | *ShatteringStar*
He's a large, muscular tom with thick golden fur and a strong build. A small resemblance of a mane frames his large face nicely and his paws are very massive for his size. His dull green eyes have a dark golden ring around the outside of the irises, resembling emeralds in the sunlight.. Emeraldblaze is very calm and majestic, taking the time to hear both sides before making a decision. This makes him very wise, but he is also a brave cat and knows when he shouldn't show fear. He has a light-hearted, witty, and kind personality and he loves telling stories to younger generations. His anger can arise if a cat has a rotten or rude attitude around him.

"Perhaps Ravenpaw and I could accompany you, Lightningstrike? I had planned to do somewhat of a mock patrol and go over the warrior code again, but if you had something planned, perhaps we shall do that instead?" His voice is sunny, and if she didn't wish to have them tag along, he would understand. Sometimes there were plans that were already made.
He blinks in surprise at his apprentices squeak and turns to find her on her rump, "Leaf litter is slippery, Ravenpaw, you have no need for embarrassment! Even I have slipped in it before!" The tom had slipped in leaves and landed right in a lake, actually, and as a warrior even, the thought makes him chuckle quietly to himself.
Twigpaw wasn't sure about having other cats tag along during their training. If Lightningstrike had nothing to say against it, neither would he, but Ravenpaw was talkative and Twigpaw wasn't. If she tried to strike up conversation, he'd sadly fall short of whatever expectations she may have, and the thought makes him uneasy. He comforts himself with the thought that at least she was a kind cat, she may understand in the end. As long as he didn't offend her, he wouldn't be on the end of her sharp tongue, either.

Ivyfang flicked his tail. "You shouldn't let your fur beat you." He smirked. "Unless it's really age that's got you down." He buried his kill. It was strange to not have Badger in camp anymore, but Ivyfang knew he wouldn't be able to stay. Not unless he wanted to face judgement from every cat pretty much every day. He continued on, though a bit slower. "So what do you plan to do with the little fuzzball?"
He'd been rather surprised that Badger had company the first time he'd met the kit. Apparently, Scarlet had tailed him after an encounter a ways away from the old den. Either Badger knew and didn't mind, which was odd, or he hadn't realized he had a red puff following him, which was even odder. But, then again, an oldie wouldn't mind company, even if he wouldn't admit. She'd grown, though, and now her fur didn't drag on the ground when she walked. Maybe Badger would get her hunting and she could hunt for them when he really was too old to do it. Ivyfang couldn't make the trip every day. Even if he was much faster, it was still a bit of a walk. And when he was told to go on patrols, he wouldn't be able to.

Badger rolled his eyes, casting his gaze up at the sky. He avoided Ivyfang's curious prodding. Beneath his pointed comments, he could tell that the young warrior was concerned for him, and it made him uncomfortable. What ever happened to the days when he was looking out for Ivyfang and not the other way around? Although, perhaps that never truly was the case.. Badger thought to himself, pushing down memories like a rise of bile in his throat.
The question about Scarlet caught him off guard. Ivyfang wasn't normally the type to become concerned with business that didn't involve or benefit him, so it was a surprise to hear him inquiring about the small loner kit. "I don't plan to do anything with her. She's not a piece of prey to be discarded" he rumbled, somewhat more gruffly than he intended. He immediately regretted it- Ivyfang would know instantly that he was being defensive. It's not wrong to be lonely. it's good to have a heart. The voice echoed inside Badger's mind, unwelcome. He pushed it away. "I'm giving her a warm place to stay while she grows strong enough to take care of herself. The warrior code expects us to help any and all kits in need."

Merlinpaw blinked, shocked at being addressed at all by the confusing ginger cat. He turned guilty eyes on his mentor, already preparing himself for the telling-off he was sure was coming. "Well, there's the excitement for the day." he muttered sullenly, he hadn't even got to do anything! No fighting, barely any talking at all - and then they just let her run away? "Aren't you going to do anything about her?" Ravenpaw giggled, she liked Nectarfur and his silly stories - it sounded like he'd been just as clumsy an apprentice as she was! "What about you, Twigpaw? What's the silliest thing you've done?" she asked teasingly. Her whiskers twitched and she let out a little mrrow of laughter. /low muse and thus short posts

"Like he even could catch me, I mean, you couldn't!" Yew laughed out, her eyes a challenging glare. She was surely not that frightened, she had lived on the territory some time, a while even, ever sense Shadestar's death, and stayed in the area, surely some cats knew of her! Even if they didn't she wasn't leaving then, not yet anyways. She was taking an interest in Merlinpaw, he seemed a bit similar to her.

Merlinpaw's hackles rose, and he took a few steps towards Yew - not enough to put him outside the patrol's protection but just enough so that he was close enough to speak clearly. "Maybe not, loner, but I'm just an apprentice. They'd catch you soon enough. Don't get so cocky… it just might get you into hot water someday." he snapped, lashing his tail in annoyance. It irritated him how she knew his name and yet he didn't have any real idea of who she was, other than the fact she was the mysterious sister of one of his fellow apprentices.

Wispkit smiled slightly, and nodded her head. She began drawing in the dust, trying to explain she couldn't talk, but all she came up with was a lonely circle, representing her, and then drew other dots away from the circle, and pointed her tail to her throat, and then to the circle, trying to somehow show her difference to Ottersplash. Ottersplash stared at the circle for a few moments before looking back at Wispkit. "You can't speak and because of that you end up alone." She mewed hoping she got it right.

"Oh, and he learns to talk for himself. Well here me little apprentice, my sister Nightpaw, if you end up as a friend or even mate of hers, and you break her heart, you will be broken..." Yew warned, and growled lowly. She was being overprotective now, and looked down, climbing down to his level, looking him right in the eyes, "Got me, apprentice?" she said. Her eyes scanned him for a sudden move, and then looked over to the other cats, guessing he wasn't going to attack her, in case, she was ready, her back legs placed in a position for her to evade quickly. "I'd like to see them catch up to me, plus you have a code in your clan, hurting a cat without reason is unjust, and plus, i'm just above the age of a kit, and hurting a kit is also against your code. Am I right? I was a guest once, remember, Merlinpaw?" she asked with a hiss.

(Web did you see my Peony response? and Don't worry pumpkin, it happens )
Without waiting a beat Twigpaw blurts, "Older apprentices convinced me that rabbit pellets were berries." He sits calmly for a moment before his face scrunches up in mortification. He actually said that out loud. He blurted that out loud, just like he blurts out so many other stupid things.
"Forget I said anything." He says between clenched teeth, but Nectarfur is laughing jollily and bumping against the apprentice, "Plenty of young cats fall for that one, Twigpaw! It only takes one for you to learn the lesson."
Twigpaw shies away from the large oaf of a cat, puffs his fur up and pointedly looks away from the group, "Are they coming along or are they not, Lightningstrike, we have training to do." He was curt, and his tone was a bit cold, but he was embarrassed. Nectarfur's laughter- even if it was hardly mocking, was not helping.

"Think we will pass Nectarfur." Lightingstrike mewed nodding her head to him. "Perhaps we can train together another time." She didn't really feel like putting up with the jolly tom least not right now. Plus, she wanted more one on one time with Twigpaw. There was will lots he needed to improve on.

Ivyfang didn't miss Badger's eye roll and his whiskers twitched. Was it so strange to care about his mentor's health? He didn't think so. But then again, their relationship had never been outwardly caring. He chuckled slightly at Badger's prickly response. "Will you be training her? Although, I don't think she would let herself be discarded..." His eyes glanced behind him as the rustling that had been following them came closer. The kit was scaring away all the prey. It was better to just slow their pace and let her catch up. The dark red she-cat finally burst from the brush. "Wow! You really do move." Scarlet trotted over to the two. She was missing tufts of fur, but aside from that seemed to be doing fine. "I had to run as fast as I could to catch up!" Ivyfang's ears twitched. He knew that was very fast, but was quite loud, but decided not to say anything on it. "And what happened to staying at the den?" "I got bored." Scarlet huffed, her cheeks puffing out. "I didn't want you to have all the fun without me. Besides, aren't I old enough to be one of your apprentices?" "Perhaps, but this isn't the clan." Ivyfang raised an eyebrow. He knew Badger had attempted to get her to join, but she didn't seem to want to. "No, but I'm still old enough to come along."

"of course, another time then!" He dips his head towards the other warrior, "Then Ravenpaw, we shall continue as planned. Let's go?"
Twigpaw was immensely glad he wouldnt have to work with another apprentice after so embarrassingly blurting that out, he gives the both of them a quick goodbye and hurries past Lightningstrike, "let's go?"

Badger let out an exasperated huff, the noise dramatic and unnecessary. "Real apprentices know when to listen to their mentors, Scarlet" he meowed, then shot a glance at Ivypaw "not that I would know anything about having an apprentice who does." Stopping their walk, he flicks his bushy tail over the kits ears affectionately "Although you did catch up with us fairly quickly, for someone with such short paws" He meowed, his praise light and warm. "You're lucky there's plenty of prey in the area, though. How do you expect me to feed both of us when you scare everything away with your tromping about?"
He took another look at Scarlet. Really looked at her. She did seem to be the age of an apprentice, probably a bit older if he really thought about it. He never intended to keep her around, but despite his best efforts he had grown... fond. Would it be worth it to train her? She'd need to defend herself, after all..
-----
( @winterlynx ) Cloudpaw bounced into the nursery, glad to be invited in. Sagestreak gazed out at her from her nest, her belly looking swollen but soft. "Good Morning Sagestreak!" Cloudpaw called, out, stopping just in front of her nest. "I came to see if there's anything you needed today. New bedding? Moss water? Fresh kill?" She knew she was rambling a bit, which was why Sagestreak often got short with her, but she wanted to get chores out of the way. Maybe if she did really well with her duties today, Ottersplash would take her somewhere really cool for training! Her eye caught on the queens stomach, which seemed to push out at parts "Woww.." she meowed, pushing her nose forward "They sure are getting big, arent they? Doesn't it feel icky when they move like that?"

Leafheart strolled into camp, a plump mouse in her jaws. Her dark brown tabby fur was damp with the swamp's water, her paws covered in sludge. She'd chased the mouse down, even causing her to accidentally fall into the overflowing water of the swamp. But, she'd caught the little pest, and now her clan would have one more mouth to feed. She was happy to finally call Twilightclan her clan. She was happy to be apart of it, and she was sure Sherlock would be proud. He'd wanted this, hadn't he? To be free, to be apart of something bigger than just the kittypet life? Leafheart moved towards the freshkill pile and dropped off the mouse, sighing in relief as she stretched out her claws. She tried to shake out her pelt of the dampness, but she still felt soaked. So, she began to clean her pelt, her tongue sliding along her paw, and then rubbing her paw along her muzzle, ears, nose, everything. Ugh, she felt so...smelly. She wondered how Mikel was doing, since she had left? Well, he could have joined her. He could have joined Twilightclan too. But, he thought it was betraying her brother's trust, leaving what they had behind. No, she thought. He'd want us to be a part of something bigger. And being a part of a clan was way bigger than strolling through the forest without a care. However, her stomach still clenched up at the idea of Mikel all alone out there, in the forest beyond them. She wished she could see him.
Mikel was lying along a branch of a tree, front legs dangling off as his tail swished this way and that in the air below him, eyes closed as he tried to relax. Sometimes it was hard. When he closed his eyes, he would just see Donovan and Sherlock's wounds, blood spotted grass, and the snapping jaws of a fox. Sometimes, he had them as nightmares, and he'd always wake up nearly falling out of the tree. He'd rethought his idea of being lazy on the tree branch a lot, but then he ignored it. He was better off up here than down there half the time, anyway. He liked to move through the forest along the tree's branches, though he came down to stretch his paws and hunt. Now would be a great time to get down and stretch his claws out again... With a yawn, Mikel slowly crawled over to the center of the tree, making his way down. Once he got to the ground, he stretched his paws out in front of him and huffed in slight exhaustion. He never really slept much anymore. Wasn't his fault, though.
