Sagepaw listened intently. She was sitting up straight and proper, her ears angled forward and directly to the elite. Her amber eyes were wide with curiosity and wonder, unable to figure out how the story was going to end. When it did end she felt that her heart had started to beat a bit faster in the suspense of it all. Her ears had flattened slightly, especially when Amberstep showed off her flank that was covered in hideous scars. Before Sagepaw could stop herself from saying something dumb, she ended up doing as much. "If Cloudteller had seen what was going to happen, why weren't you more aware? I wouldn't let some bobcat get me if I knew about it." While her comment could have been taken as a tenderpaw's ignorance, Sagepaw's voice suggested true wonder. "Are bobcats worse than foxes?" Sagepaw had only heard stories of bobcats while she had seen a fox before. The fox hadn't seemed all that frightening. It had barely been bigger than most of the cats on the patrol that had spotted it about a moon ago. And if foxes didn't seem all that scary, but a bobcat could almost kill Amberstep of all cats then that meant bobcats were much more terrifying.

Honeyteller was glad that Mistwatcher didn't say anything about her being spooked over a little raindrop. Relief washed over her like a running stream. In no longer feeling embarrassed she was able to let out a snort-laugh as Mistwatcher told her of his first experience with rain as a tenderpaw. "Really? That doesn't seem like something you would do, at least not now," Honeyteller told the tomcat as she cleaned out the last bits of debris and cobweb out of the hollow; just in time did they clean it out because as soon as it was pretty clear the rain began to fall harder. It still wasn't a full on shower, but certainly a hard sprinkle now.

A look of thoughtful amusement passed over the omen-teller's face as her companion spoke. "Those were wise words. I can see how inspiration was found in them." Honeyteller than sighed, thinking about her first experience out in the rain. "I was in a patrol with Cloudteller when I first really got caught in the rain. It had been fun, but I found out soon enough that patrols were meant to be serious, not fun and games." Honeyteller went quiet after that, thinking back to that time. She had acted like a kit in the rain, and thinking back to that time now, Honeyteller remembered how some cats on that patrol had been whispering about her, talking about how an omen-teller in training shouldn't have time to act like a kit anymore, that it wasn't right for her to be enjoying herself so much when she needed to be serious about protecting her Clan.
