"Okay. Take a break if you need to." Rosebriar said not wanting the apprentice to get hurt.

Pineclaw woke up from his sleep to the sound of his name being called. Wondering what he was needed for now, he padded to the entrance of the warriors' den. Before he left, he cast one more glance at Shadowpelt. He was relieved when he saw the steady rise and fall of her flanks, signaling that she was in a restful sleep. Turning his head toward the camp, Pineclaw looked around. "Am I on a patrol?" he asked.

Falconwing turned to Pineclaw. "Yes, You're on the hunting patrol with Blacknose and Viperstripe."

When Pineclaw heard the deputy's mew, he quickly scanned the camp in search of Viperstripe and Blacknose. Though the tom was adjusting to clan life well and getting to know his clanmates, he hadn't talked to Blacknose nor Viperstripe very much. I'll just go to the entrance of camp and wait for them there, Pineclaw decided, padding up to the entrance of camp.

Viperstripe, already awake and having finished with a nice morsel of frog, spotted Pineclaw and joined him near the camp entrance. She was glad to be on the hunting patrol, border patrols, she found quite boring even if they were in good duty for the clan. Plus, hunting, she was a whole lot better at, even if her sandy pelt didn't help much with camouflage. She let out a small huff as she stretched her muscles. The scrapes and cuts were still sore and throbbing from the fight with the foxes, at least though the blood had stopped. Hopefully it wouldn't interfere with her hunting and cause a sloppy kill.
Blacknose, hearing the announcement, perked up immediently, meeting Pineclaw and Viperstripe at the entrance. "All set?" He meowed, stretching his legs with a quick yawn. It had been a while since his last duty out of camp and he was excited to finally be getting out and moving. Being with Viperstripe, his former travel partner was fun too, but he'd never had much interaction with the tom Pineclaw, either.

Dawnfeather envied the cats that were going out on a patrol. She longed to go out into the forest to stretch her legs.
Thornpaw nodded his head to his mentor.

"I'm ready," Pineclaw mewed, turning to face the entrance of camp. At the thought of going into the forest, Pineclaw had a slight worry about running into a fox or two. Hopefully, no one ends up like Shadowpelt, the tom thought, remembering the horrifying sight of his friend collapsed on the ground.

Falconwing and Rosebriar and Thornpaw set out on the border patrol. "You know, we don't really have borders." Falconwing stated to Rosebriar.

Blacknose nodded and padded out into the territory. When they were a ways out in the thick of the swamp, he paused, sniffing the air. "A few scents.. Shall we split, then? Meet back up later with our catches?" He meowed, suggesting, and looking to the tom.
Viperstripe, following behind them, jumped up on a nice root to sit when the patrol paused.

Pineclaw followed behind Blacknose, looking around at their surroundings as the patrol walked through the territory. As the other tom paused, Pineclaw halted in his steps and turned to look at him. "Sounds like a good plan," he agreed, nodding to Blacknose.

"We didn't." Falconwing looked at Rosebriar, "Where should we set some?"
As the hunting patrol was walking through, Foxmouth watched in the shadows, his amber eyes flickering with evil light. Foxmouth smiled, a evil sinister smile. As Foxmouth drew foreward the smooth ferns rustled around him. When he came close to the cats he stepped into the light slowly. "Hello." He said while smiling, a evil glint in his teeth.
Thimblestar dreamt about hunting. The silver, lithe mouse would come right up to his paws and then slither away, again and again. He lashed his tail and hissed in fustration. He kept pouncing at it but it escaped every time. The mouse then darted into a dirt hole. Thimblestar scrambled after it. But when he got in, the dirt fell on top of him, suffocating him. He woke up with a jump. "Bogfeather?" He mewed, his heart beating fast.

"Well we don't want to make them too big otherwise we will tire ourselves out trying to maintain them but big enough we don't always hunt in the same spot. If we find some good physical markers it will make it easier to keep track of them. Rosebriar said.

Falconwing pointed to a small log. "That could be a border." Falconwing was still feeling hurt from their last conversation, that's why he was being so solemn.

"Okay that looks like a good place!" Rosebriar said not thinking about how down he looked.

Falconwing padded over to the log and started marking the new border. He looked up at Rosebriar. Her beautiful calico pelt glimmered in the dim light of the bog. All he wanted was to be friends with her-maybe more...Couldn't she see that?
Foxmouth waited for the hunting cats to reply.
Bogfeather whipped her head around and ran to Thimblestar. She lashed her tail in worry. "Are you ok? Where does it hurt?' Bogfeather said, nosing him over.

When Falconwing was done marking the border he closed his eyes. "I'm sorry about our last conversation Rosebriar...I have feelings...That you don't understand."

"Its okay. Im sorry that I got so uncomfortable. Im just not used to being around other cats and I wont be comfortable with any cat for awhile." Rosebriar started to pull into herself as her chest tightened. It was hard to breath and the more she panicked over it the worse it got and her heart started to race.

Pineclaw sniffed the air, picking up the scent of a lizard and a frog. Suddenly, heard an unfamiliar voice coming from behind him. Oh no, Pineclaw thought as he spun around towards the noise, dreading what he might find. In front of him, he saw an unfamiliar character. "Who are you and what are you doing on our territory?" he asked the stranger.

Viperstripe, alert of the strange presence, stalked off the root and curled her lip in a hint of aggression. Whoever the unknown cat was, she was ready to pick a fight if need be.
Blacknose, flanking Pineclaw, jolted his legs tight in the arrival of the stranger. "Yes, what are you doing in ThimbleClan territory?" He meowed, a deep growl rising itself in his throat. They kept scent markers fresh and ready through each border patrol, so this stranger, he couldn't have wandered in dumbfounded and lost.

Foxmouth flicked his bushy tail in annoyance. "Oh, hasn't Bogfeather told you about me?" He said while stalking around the cats, "I'm her father for goodness sake! And for your notice, this isn't your territory." Foxmouth said while snarling vicously at the cats, "It's ours. So I suggest you leave NOW otherwise you're in for another fight." Other foxes stepped out from the shadows and surrounded the patrol.

Falconwing saw how tense Rosebriar was and frowned to himself. Couldn't she calm down for a while? He didn't bite. "OK ok, no need to get all tensed now, I don't bite."

(sorry I started having a slight panic attack and apparently wrote her having one.)
Rosebriar took deep breaths and calmed herself some. "Sorry. I know you don't bite." She couldn't understand why he didn't get that she wasn't comfortable with him pushing so much.

As Foxmouth mentioned his name, Pineclaw remembered Bogfeather's confession. So this was who she was talking about, he thought, looking at the intruder.
Pineclaw eyed the other cats on the patrol as the foxes surrounded the patrol. What should we do now? he thought. The tom thought of Shadowpelt back in the camp. Hopefully nobody else ends up like her, he hoped, And more importantly, that she's safe in camp.

(It's ok Dark ) Falconwing was getting frustrated with Rosebriar. She was the shyest cat he had ever seen! "It's ok." He said calmly, "How about we just don't talk and focus on our work." Falconwing hoped his gentle words would stop all the fur on her body from bristling. It was actually, if you thought about it, quite a hilarious site.
Foxmouth narowed his eyes. "No reply eh?" He said as he stalked around Pineclaw, "Any last words filthy furball?" Foxmouth hoped this would scare the chunk of fur to talk.
"I'm fine." He said, half annoyed half relived. He pushed her nose away with his paw.

As Foxmouth circled him, Pineclaw turned to look at the intruder. The warrior curled his lips back into a snarl. I will defend my territory to my last breath, he silently vowed, thinking of Shadowpelt back in the warriors' den. He wouldn't let anyone else get hurt like her.
