Welcome to AuraClan.
We are a young clan not much like the others. We rely less heavily in our ancestors; and instead use the power of our own spirits to give us the strength and courage we need for every challenge we face.
We still do believe in StarClan, and the life after death, but we are more in tune with ourselves.
The first thing any new people should know about is auras. As the namesake of our Clan, they play big parts in our lives.
Every creature has a colored aura. Their aura reflects what kind of person they are. In another post, you will read about each color aura and their meanings, as well as the powers and side effects each one grants:.
Everything else you must know will be explained in future posts.
Do you care to stop and smell the roses of AuraClan? We eagerly await you.

Rule One — Forum Rules ;; These are the rules you should be following no matter where you are on the forums, unless, you know, you're a troll or something. Either way, just follow them here please. I worked hard on this and I wouldn't appreciate it being deleted over the immaturity of others.
Rule Two — Literacy & Post Length ;; Literacy is like, everything to me, and since this is a semi-advanced/advanced roleplay, I'm going to have expectations that you guys can at least post decently sized replies. When you type up a post ranging anywhere from twenty to fifty lines, and someone replies with "he nodded and followed him/her silently", I know I wouldn't be the only one to die at least a little bit. When you're replying to a post like that, it's so difficult, since there's so little to make a paragraph or two of a response. All I ask is that you type at least two or three lines per roleplay post, minimum, with grammar, spelling, and punctuation that doesn't make you look like you're the person who wrote Starkit's Prophecy. Slacking off in the chat is very much okay—hell, when I chat, I bet there's a lot of people who don't even know what I'm saying. But in rp, I really, really don't want posts that are so bad a first grader could type up something more descriptive. If you have trouble, then try to describe exactly what your character is doing, where they are, what their tone of voice is [if they're talking], what they're thinking about, what they feel emotionally or physically, what they see, etc. It isn't too hard to type a decent sized paragraph when you get descriptive, trust me.
Rule Three — Activity ;; Please don't join then ditch a day after! You know how annoying that is, when you work hard on a roleplay, you get a joiner, just for them to completely ignore the thread after a few days passed? I know we all get busy and have to cut off some luxuries every now and again, but it would be highly appreciated if you notified a thread moderator or myself about your absence. Members inactive for over two weeks will be deleted, along with their characters. I will not hold a copy of your characters for you. It is up to you to have them backed up. If you were kicked and wish to return, you may, as long as you are actually active.
Rule Four — Ratios ;; Usually I see Clans with two toms, twelve she-cats, and one nonbinary. If this rule isn't in place, I have a feeling there are going to significantly more females than not. So, to make sure things are always just about even, I ask that you make at least two characters of different genders. I'm okay with the roleplay having a few more of one gender [or significantly less nbs because we're a minority I guess], but try not to make too lopsided, okay?
males: 2 females: 2 nonbinary: 0
Rule Four — Claiming ;; Higher ranks such as empress/emperor (leader) and general (deputy) will not be simply ask-and-receive. If you wish for your cat to have a high rank, tell me when you are joining their name, and eventually I will hold a poll or something for the members to decide who leads. After the first leader and deputy are chosen, things will work out on their own. Once the leader dies, the deputy gets bumped up, and then they get to choose who takes their place as second-in-command. Which means, yes, eventually, your leader or deputy may die! If you'd like to claim a priest/priestess or one of their trainees, just ask me.
Rule Five -- Rating ;; Everything must be kept pg-13. No scenes of graphic ""romance"" or excessively gorey violence (obviously violence plays a big part of the roleplay but don't get too descriptive), no excessive swearing (fbombs or racial slurs are strongly discouraged), etc.
Rule Six -- Spamming ;; Don't spam. Period.
Rule Eight -- Realism ;; You know, when it comes to cats, I'm pretty lenient on how realistic your character has to be when it comes to their appearance. Especially since this is a warriors-inspired, fantasy Clan. Cats should have realistic pelt and eye colors, but I won't force you into studying cat genetics. Complete heterochromia is discouraged outside of white cats, but allowed. Also, another important thing. Kittens should look somewhat like their parents. If two brown tabbies have kits, don't make them have five white cats with gray splotches.
Rule Nine — SexuaI Orientations & Gender Identities ;; Everything is accepted here. Have a problem with two toms snuggling, or a cat who doesn't have a gender? Suck it up, or go away. Flaming/harassing/hating on other members will only get you reported and hopefully banned. Sorry if I seem very spicy here but I'm gay so like... it's an important rule to me and it will be enforced no matter what.
Rule Eleven — Have Fun ;; You're probably looking over the rules and noting a few I forgot, and that's good. The fact you're remembering them means you know you should be following them! So please do. Other than that, I want you to have fun. If you're not enjoying yourself here, tell me, and we can either work something out. If you don't want to be here, don't hesitate to tell me — I don't want you to feel bored or uncomfortable here. You're more important than a few characters, fam.

AuraClan makes their home in Southern Canada, outside of the Twoleg population. Weather tends to be rather temperate, with harsh winters, yet very warm summers.
The territory is primarily made up of meadows, with long, untamed grass, and an abundance of beautiful flowers. The camp is basically the central point of their land. Far to the west of it, near the edge of the territory, one will find a freshwater lake, surrounded by pine forest. Like veins, streams cut through the whole land, leading away into faraway nowheres way beyond the territory. Around the water spots are of the best places for prey.
The camp itself is a large clearing, where grass and flowers have been ripped from the ground and replaced by several dens made of stick, mud, and leaf. They provide decent shelter from rain and excellent relief from the summer sun. Throughout the winter, though, snow must be cleared off of the roofs, or else they will surely break. All of the dens line the camp, leaving a big space in the center of the clearing. A small hut shelters the prey pile from weather, dead-center, but there's still plenty of room for cats to mingle and trainees to play-fight.
To the north of camp, one would find the flower meadow AuraClan treasures. Technically, it takes up most of their territory and can be found almost anywhere, but the cats choose to go to the north of camp of they want to take a walk through the fields. Hunting is generally not allowed, as it's a place for cats to unwind or couples to stargaze at night.
In the northeastern-most section of the territory is the Starry Lake. This is where the medicine cats and the leader come to commute with StarClan. Newly announced apprentices must also come here by moonhigh of the next day, to be blessed with their aura.
Finally, to the southeast of camp, there is an abandoned Twoleg den the cats go to for shelter when the camp is not an optoon. For example, a heavy blizzard would be a situation where the Twoleg den is the safest place to go. The cats would take as much as the prey pile as they could with them, in case hunting becomes hard, if they were able to. Of course, any cat who stops to collecr a stray mouse in the middle of a fire is a singed fool.

Now, as the namesake of the Clan, Auras play a big part here. They appear as a color on their pawpads. Cats usually tend to keep their colors to themselves, and no cat truly has the right to demand the color apart from the medicine cat or leader. It is also considered extremely rude to tell other cats what color another is. I'll explain the meanings and information for each color. NOTE: Your cat does not need to be exactly as their aura color says. For example, a cat can be dark pink, but not some traitor planning to overthrow the clan or whatever. Just follow the guidelines set by the characteristics.
Brilliant red: A playful spirit, energetic and competitive. Dark red: Down to earth, self-sufficient; able to survive most hardships. Light pink: A loving cat, sensual; capable of seeing the finer things in life. Dark pink: Dishonest, decietful; an immature cat. Bright orange: A cat who lives life to the fullest and usually has a higher resistance towards illness. Orange-red: A confident cat with a lot of personal power. They can either be very good or very bad candidates for leadership. Yellow-green: A cat best skilled in conversation and other social activities. Forest-green: Quick learners with a great memory. Priests are more often than not this color. Dark/Cloudy green: An envious cat, and easy to anger. Royal blue: A very spirtual being. Often generous and open to new ideas. Dark/Cloudy blue: Stubborn and unable to face truths due to their desire to take control. Light blue: Truthful and serene. Violet: A spacey cat who daydreame often and cares greatly for others. Black: An unwilling and unforgiving spirit. Gray: Blocked energy field. A cat who does not trust anyone or anything. Dark/Murky brown: Insecure, or a cat afraid to let go of things. Pink overlay: A cat who has recently fallen in love. Brown overlay: A grieving cat. Cloudy red overlay: A cat full of resentment they can't let go of. Gray overlay - Blocked energy field. Usually from immense fear.
Cats of brilliant red, light pink, yellow-green, violet, and light blue are often loved and trusted most. Cat of dark pink, black, dark/cloudy blue, and orange-red are often distrusted or avoided. That is why most cats keep their aura to themselves—to avoid spiritual discrimination.

There are currently no active plots or prophecies happening in AuraClan. If you have an idea, please send a group PM to the clan moderators and myself proposing it! It'll help the clan a lot.

It is currently the cold season. The bloom season will begin: March 15th, 2017.
Herb Information:
Borage Leaves - To be chewed and eaten. The plant can be distinguished by its small blue or pink star-shaped flowers and hairy leaves. Great for nursing queens as it helps increase their supply of milk. Also brings down fever.
Burdock Root - A tall-stemmed, sharp-smelling thistle with dark leaves. A Medicine Cat must dig up the roots, wash off the dirt, and chew them into a pulp, which can be applied to rat bites. Cures infection.
Catmint - A delicious-smelling, leafy plant that's hard to find in the wild; often found growing in Twoleg gardens. The best remedy for greencough.
Chervil - A sweet-smelling plant with large, spreading, fernlike leaves and small white flowers. The juice of the leaves can be used for infected wounds, and chewing the roots helps with bellyache
Cobweb - Spiderwebs can be found all over the forest; be careful not to bring the spider along with you! Medicine Cats wrap it around an injury to soak up the blood and keep the wound clean. Stops bleeding.
Coltsfoot - A flowering plant, a bit like a dandelion, with yellow or white flowers. The leaves can be chewed into a pulp, which is eaten to help shortness of breath.
Comfrey - Identifiable by its large leaves and small bell-shaped flowers, which can be pink, white, or purple. The fat black roots of this plant can be chewed into a poultice to mend broken bones or soothe wounds.
Deathberries - Extremely poisonous. Only to be used as an act of mercy to a very sick or injured cat requesting it.
Dock - A plant similar to Sorrel. The leaf can be chewed up and applied to soothe scratches.
Dried Oak Leaf - Collected in the Autum and stored in a dry place. Stops infection
Feverfew - A small bush with flowers like daisies. The leaves can be eaten to cool down body temperature, particularly for cats with fever or chills.
Foxglove Seed - Poisonous seeds with a striking resemblance to poppy seeds.
Goldenrod - A tall plant with bright yellow flowers. A poultice of this is terrific for healing wounds!
Honey - A sweet, golden liquid created by bees. Difficult ro collect without getting stung, but great for soothing infections or the throats of cats who have breathed smoke.
Horsetail - A tall plant with bristly stems that grows in marshy areas. The leaves can be used to treat infected wounds. Usually chewed up and applied as a poultice.
Juniper Berries - A bush with spiky dark green leaves and purple berries. The berries soothe bellyache and help cats who are having trouble breathing.
Lavender - A small purple flowering plant. Cures fever.
Marigold - A bright orange or yellow flower that grows low to the ground. The petals or leaves can be chewed into a pulp and applied as a poultice to wounds. Stops infection.
Mouse Bile - A bad-smelling liquid that is the only remedy for ticks. Dab a little moss soaked in bile on a tick and it'll fall right off. Wash paws thoroughly in running water afterwards.
Poppy Seed - Small black seeds shaken from dried poppy flower, these are fed to cats to help them sleep. Soothes cats suffering from shock and distress. Not recommended for nursing queens.
Stinging Nettle - The spiny green seeds can be administered to a cat who's swallowed poison, while the leaves can be applied to a wound to bring down swelling
Tansy - A strong-smelling with round yellow flowers. Good for curing coughs, but must be eaten in small doses.
Thyme - This Herb can be eaten to calm anxiety and frayed nerves.
Watermint - A leafy green plant found in streams or damp earth. Usually chewed into a pulp and then fed to a cat suffering bellyache
Wild Garlic - Rolling in a patch of Wild Garlic can help prevent infection, especially for dangerous wounds like rat bites. Poisonous to consume.
Yarrow - A flowering plant whose leaves can be made into a poultice and applied to wounds or scratches to expel poison.

Nofurs - Another word for humans.
One moon - One month (half-moon = two weeks. Quarter moon = one week).
Rogue - A potentially hostile cat who lives outside the Clans and never spends too long in one place.

Warrior cats is the main inspiration for AuraClan. Obviously, the rights to such belong to the Erin Hunters and Harpercollins.
I did not create the headers myself. Those were made with the font Austie Bost Your Flowers Hollow on the "cute" section of this website.
The background image for the layout was obtained from this website.
Aura color definitions were obtained from this website with my own touches added here and there.
Winterbreeze's guide was also a big help to me for providing stuff for the extra information post!
Anything not credited belongs to me. Please do not steal anything from this thread!

Prey pickings were awfully meager this morning, Stonetooth noted with an unhappy grunt. Scrawny mice, hardly capable of feeding kittens, and—ugh, crowfood, littered the pile, alongside a whopping zero pieces of fresh-kill even slightly worthy of being called a meal. Even for the cold season, it seemed rather ridiculous.
The brown tuxedo squeezed his way back out of the prey den. His sides were getting a little too round from just lazing in camp all day everyday, with the damned General never bothering to put him in a patrol. Huffing discontently, he glanced to the east. The pale golden sun's rays were slowly beginning to creep up along the horizon. He didn't want to wait for the General's awakening, or for the dawn patrol. He'd go hunting himself.
Lost in his own thought, he barely avoided get knocked into by a lilac colored trainee dashing for the prey pile.
"Is there anything left?" She growled, pushing past the brown tom and sticking her face into the prey pile—just to recoil at the smell of rotting vole. "A-agh, gross!" Stonetooth's whiskers twitched in amusement.
"No, there's not even enough there for the queens."
"There aren't any qu—oh," The trainee, who he now recognized as Tulippaw, glared at him. "Are you going out?" She queried.
"Mhm. Someone needs to feed the Clan." Stonetooth gave a flick of his tail, remaining friendly despite her rude behaviour.
"Take me with you." Spinning around to face the warrior, Tulippaw stood straighter. "My mentor won't mind me gone if I'm hunting." She watched him hesitate and ponder, every hair in her pelt itching to go for a good run and eat something.
Finally, Stonetooth shrugged. "Okay, but I'm not taking the blame if you get chastised. Now come on, we might as well make it a patrol. Do you see anyone else who's ready to go?" His yellow-green eyes started scanning the camp.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Was the rhythmic tap of the long, dark tabby limb as he lay bathing in the faint rays of the rising sun. Despite the winter coldness, he didn't seemed to be bothered. His eyes were closed and a look of pleasure was on his face. Deep purrs rumbling in his chest every now and then. The sunlight making his pelt gleam a brilliant honey color. This... this was the life. Sitting around and doing, pretty much nothing. Oh yes. That was where Snaketail's luxurious kingdom took its place. Ah, but could it get any better?
Wrong.
It could only get worse.
How fitting. Next time I won't say anything at'll. The peaceful setting slowly faded away as the commotion of two other cats interrupted the silence. To talk about boring hunting parties. Was it even worth risking his beautiful scenery. Tsk, as if.
With a huff, the tabby sat up into a sitting posture. Smoothing down his ruffled chest fur. Snaketail was rather tall and handsome in appearance. With a long, graceful body. And shaggy dark tabby fur. He was just perfect. His clanmates could only dream to be as charming as he. And the ladies... They couldn't seem to get enough of him. Despite the fact that he was truly a snake, luring its prey into a deep trance, only to break their heart in the end.
"I'm sure whatever you two are talking about isn't more important than my meditating time." The masculine began clearing his throat before speaking. Keeping a calm demeanor, even though he intended to be more aggressive with the situation. "I'm sure you've woken the whole Clan by now."
Here it was, the beginning of another brilliant day. Coming off with a neutral start. There was only a matter of time before he'd target his next victim and drain the life from its precious soul.

Humor comes in all forms, but the most cryptic of them seems to be Mother Nature. She had a funny way of making herself known, and in this case, she decided a mixture of dark humor and the cold shoulders would be hilarious. A sharp bitterness washed over the camp and invaded different areas turning it into a blistering cold atmosphere. For one feline, this was a battle that she was losing. She curled up tightly in a ball, and her tail was placed as close to her face as possible. A few times her body would shiver as it attempted to remain warm. It didn’t help that the she-cat prefer to nest at the front where the entrance was located, but she always claim that she wanted to one of the first to see that beautiful morning. That moment couldn’t come any sooner.
Emerging from her slumber, she seemed to roll onto her nest. The one known as Cicadachirp had a new enemy to face: herself. Her body was in no mood to get up and face the music. The first wave came in the form of heaviness. Her legs, especially, felt unbalance when she tried to move onto her face, and she felt like sleepiness was weighing her down. A few times she would find herself back onto her nest as she struggled, but finally, she gained one victory in being able to stand up. The next plan was to manipulate her eyes. The repetitive motion of closing and opening made it seem like she was freaking out. The few times she could see she had adjusted herself to the light and gain more focus in her vision. As much as her body could be stubborn, it forgot who its owner was.
After shaking her head a bit, the scenery was starting to flood her vision. She couldn’t help but feel like a kit again. The messy fur was starting to stand up as she felt the tingling excitement course through her. Today meant that a new day would start, but what the world had to offer was a mystery. As annoying as the cold was, that didn’t stop her from torturing her nose as she inhaled the blistering cold. Feeling like the day was already escaping, she wasted no time getting out and did not care if she looked like a wild furball of untamable fur.
Her first instincts were to check and see if anyone was up. Her throat was clamping up from not being able to greet someone and spend time with clanmates. She wanted to share her excitement with the world. Luckily for her, she noticed a trio of cats not that far away, and it seems that they were chatting about something. With a mad dash, she sprinted over the area only to hear Snaketail’s comment.
“I’m sure you’ve woken the whole clan by now.”
An amused snort escaped from her as she meows “Morning you three! Who could sleep now? I say wake up the entire clan! There is so much to see that you will be missing out if you remain asleep!” She let out a small pause before meowing “Umm what are you guys talking about anyway?”

[[ @animefreak i'll bring Echopaw over to the patrol if that's okay? ]]
Echopaw ;;
The gentle rays of the sun of the cold season streamed through the den where the small coal-coloured feline snoozed, warming her pelt. She stirred, and stretched out her muscles, slightly curling her claws round, before rolling back onto her stomach and hopping up to her feet. She'd been slipping in and out of sleep all morning, so it was about time she got up.
Echopaw made her way out of the trainee den and began tackling the burrs which had caught up in her pelt overnight. Hearing the sound of muffled voices, she angled her ears towards the source of the sound. It was coming from the prey pile, and the cats spoke of a patrol. Not one to want to be left out of anything, the young cat darted over, fur not yet as sleek as she usually liked it.
''Did you mention a patrol?'' Echopaw exclaimed excitably, noticing that the two cats were Tulippaw and Stonetooth, ''I want to come.''
--
Bumblepaw ;;
The trainee half-wanted to scream at everyone to shut up. Honestly, the other cats within the clan that were already up weren't even making much noise, but practically anything kept Bumblepaw awake. He hadn't slept much last night - due to the fact that his own thoughts seemed to believe that they could trouble his mind all night long.
Deciding that sleep was pretty much impossible right now, Bumblepaw made his way outside, hardly caring about what he looked like.
Ugh, why can't it be at least a little warmer? he said mentally, shivering at the cold season chill. The trainee made his way to the prey pile and looked through it, disgust etched upon his face. They could at least try to hunt some nicer prey.

Snaketail's ears pricked as a new voice came from the warriors den. Long, snakelike tail flickering from left to right, the tip brushing the camp ground as it moved. Hmph, is everything I say today going to actually happen later? The dark brown tabby opened his jaws to reply, "Goodmorning Cicadachirp. A bit cheery this morning, are we?"
Snaketail himself was very calm and collective majority of his time, and it was rare for him to be excited over anything, well, unless he was chasing after a she-cat which he always did. But he hardly ever lost his temper because he never let cats' words get to him. It just seemed to immature to be offended by words that shouldn't have been said in the first place. Besides, what was the point when Snaketail always came back with powerful blows.
The dark brown masculine was snapped back to reality when Cicadachirp asked yet another question. "Well, these two decided to interrupt my time of peace. So I had to confront them as calmly as possible. Then you appeared, and now we're here."
But why was everyone really here? He'd heard some kind of talk on hunting which seemed rather nice to him, despite the coldness. Hunting was one of Snaketail's favorite activities, of course other than breaking the precious souls of she-cats, but hunting was an activity that made him actually feel at peace. "And maybe some hunting I believe I heard?"
