"It's alright." He mewed and started to pad along side her, he look at her from the corner of his eye, "Is there something on you're mind?" He mewed, with a hint of concern in his mew. [Foxlight | Warrior | 28 moons ] Foxlight smiled, warmed by the slight concern in his voice. "A little, I don't know... I'm just a bit concerned, this morning on patrol we found the scent of a fox, it was old, but..." Foxlight lead off into thought, not quite willing to continue. She had also noticed that morning that after patrol Stormfire had immediately went to talk to Rainstar. Perhaps there was no need for concern, but she couldn't help but think the worst. She hadn't asked either of them what happened when they left camp, she hadn't really thought about the scent until later on. He rested his tail on her shoulder as in to comfort her, "If that fox does come back I'll make sure it doesn't hurt anybody." He smiled, making a silent promise. They had reached silver meadow, the sun was low in the sky. |

He flattened his ears out of embarrassment, giving his fur a few quick embarrassed licks before spitting it out just as quickly. "Alright alright. Laugh it up Smokesong." He flicked her ears with his tail before shaking his fur out, getting some parts of Smokesong covered in the mud that he was in. "Are you laughing now?" He lightly smirked, a tease tinting his voice. We'll be in big trouble when we get back. "Anyways, come on." He led the way, trotting off around the bend, stopping at the base of the cliff.
» Smokesong
Smokesong mused in his distress, and seemed to laugh even harder when he licked his fur and spat it out, almost doubling over. His mutter barely reached her ears before his tails swiped at her ears, causing them to flicker. She seemed to be stopping when she felt the wet slime of the mud hit her. A couple spots hit her face, but it was mostly her flank. She puffed and pawed the mud off relentlessly, throwing him a playful glare. "Very funny." She muttered, shaking her pelt and followed suit, trotting slightly behind him.
Redfur
Approaching the base, he noticed something different, like a smell in the air but he couldn't place it quite yet. He turned his attention to the stream that ran a few tail lengths from the cliff. "I've actually never had the chance to explore this territory. After all, we only patrol half of our land. I've heard that this area belonged to Iceclan, our ancestor clan." He blinked, turning back to the stream, trotting up to it. |

He cursed quietly under his breath knowing that he wouldn't get out of this quite yet. He flicked his tail, meeting her gaze. "Lynxstep, Stormfire, and I ran into a little fox trouble... that's all." He reassured his mate. "Rainstar and Stormfire are out looking for it now. As a matter of fact, they have been gone all morning. I wonder whats holding them." He said curiously. "And the fox is far from camp..." He insisted on that answer, but truly he didn't know. -- Honeystep | Queen | in camp -- "A fox?!" Honeystep meowed, "did it attack? Were you hurt?!" She immediatly started to searched for any answers. She finally calmed down. The queen sighed, "i hope it's far away, what if..." She immediatly cut herself off. Honeystep looked around the camp, "no, i don't see Rainstar or Stormfire anywhere" Her tail twitched with weariness. "Maybe they ran into the fox?!" Badgerstripe
Resting the tip of his tail over his mate's flank he gave her a reassuring look. "Relax." His voice was sharp but mild, not aggressive. "Yes it attacked... most of them do. I should've scented it earlier but by the time it had struck, it- well, got my tail just at the end." He wondered how she would handle that information. "Stormfire and Lynxstep are perfectly fine though." He paused, trying to relax her further. "They should return soon... And if they don't, I'll head out to look." He reassured, curling his tail around himself. |

The tom nodded then waiting for the fox to focus on Rainstar, before he dashed out from behind and nipped the fox on the tail. Raking his claws down the foxes side, Stormfire jumped backwards and kept in line with the foxes tail so it couldn't face the cat. Rainy) Rainstar
Narrowing her eyes down to slits out of pure hatred for the fox, she dove into its side, raking her claws across its neck causing it to stumble. She flashed a glance towards Stormfire, signaling with her tail that now was the time to drive it out. She advanced towards it, her ears pinned and an aggressive growl in her throat. |

She paid no attention to her mates sharp tone, only what he said was important. |

Smokesong followed the tom, nodding attentively, almost appretnice-like. Upon coming to the stream, she kneeled down to drink some, lapping up some of the water. Laying down, her tail flickering behind her. She seemed to be looking at their reflections. "Do you know how to swim?" She asked, tilting her head, almost with a smirk.

Flinching just slightly, he muttered internally to himself, She-cats... He narrowed his eyes just slightly, barely noticeable. "I should be... More aware?" He flicked his tail. "Please explain that to me." Duly referring to losing some of his scenting skills in an accident as a kit. He studied her, "You aren't going anywhere with that belly of yours." He said flatly, "Your staying in the safety of the clan." He said firmly. |

Driving the fox further into the forest with the help of Stormfire, it seemed to get the message and turned tail, raking its claws out before bounding off. She paused, her legs splayed out and he tail high in authority. "It's gone. But I don't know for how long Stormfire." She flicked her gaze over towards the tom, her eyes glazed with a worried expression although her temper was calm and didn't show anywhere else. She straightened her posture, giving her small wounds a quick lick before studying him over for wounds. |

"Alright, bossy-cat" the queen meowed, jokily. "But I will find someone to keep you safe for me." The sandy she-cat twisted her head and looked around camp. She looked up at the high life, craning here neck. "your right, Rainstar and Stormfire have been gone for awhile" Honeystep paused for a moment, before blurting out "But that still doesn't mean you should go on your own"

Flicking his gaze up from the water to Smokesong, "I actually don't..." He mumbled. "I'm assuming you do?" He turned his attention back to the water, although his question was pointed at Smokesong. "I actually thought I was going to drown in water that was only up to my chest once." He said sheepishly, knowing how stupid he might've sounded. |

"I'm fine" Stormfire said, looking over for any wounds. "no major wounds." The deputy shrugged, "There is still a probability that it might return. Have you chased it out before? We'll need to be extra care by the borders. He watched as the scarred fox turned tail and ran, dashing down the ridge and into the undergrowth. Disappearing from view.

Despite his bold words, she still felt a little uneasy, at least until they entered the meadow. "I love the meadow," She commented. "It's beautiful." She enjoyed the forest a lot and loved it dearly, but the meadow just had a different feeling to it. It always felt comforting and warm, despite it being out in the open. She always felt safe hidden in the tall grass, and each time she walked it felt like another cat was side by side with her. She liked to think that was why StarClan would visit the tree in the middle. |

The tom opened his jaws to protest but quickly closed them. "Alright." He said after a minute or two. He suddenly lifted his head, perking his ears forwards, "I believe they're close to camp." He turned his attention back to Honeystep. "I think you should rest." He said abruptly, meeting her eyes. |

She stepped back after he said that he was alright. "Yes I have. The fox has been back quite a few times, especially now." She hesitated to share more about the fox, but simply didn't think it was important at the time being, she had more important things to worry about. "We should head back to camp. We don't know how long we've been out here." She forced a light smile. "We should also clean up just a bit. It looks like we rolled in a prey's blood." She tried to add some humor, motioning to her light grey coat which was now a brown color from the fox's blood and mud. |
