Shadefall nodded to the tom cat. "Lead the way then. Cause I have no idea how to tell and of these plants apart." She replied as she followed him out of camp.

Vesper scowled slightly, he heard elders were the grumpiest cats they had. In the alley it was rare to see older cats. Most died because they could no longer fight or provide for themselves. He guessed that would be different in a clan as well. He followed Wildpaw.

((Sorry I haven't been on I had some bad news concerning my irl cat. Princess is her name and I have just learned her kidneys are shutting down. The treatment they recommend my give her a few months to a year or 2 but its more likely a few months due to how fast its going. I am just feeling a little bummed out... I want to do some thing to honor her on here like make an rp character based on her or something idk yet. I just haven't felt like being on. I will try to be back this week though.))

It totally fine, take your time. ^^ I know how rough it is to have a pet in poor health, and losing one. If there's anything I can do feel free to ask! Like rping with you or maybe drawing her, idk. Not too much I can do over the internet, tho I would love to do something. :3)

Wildpaw padded toward the nursery gently greeting the queens laying outside. He stuck his head in and called quietly. "Winterwind! Bloomfrost! Its me and Vesper I just wanted to know if it would be ok to see the little ones." Both queens nodded. "Are they doing ok this morning? Do you need anything?" He asked. Winterwind smiled. "We are finebut thanks for asking." She purred as she looked down at the tiny kits near her belly. "Poppykit and Fawnkit will open their eyes soon."

Vesper nodded to the queens and glanced down at the kits. He felt a bit awkward, the queens must be a bit on edge having a random cat that was not part of the clan near their kits.

Bloomfrost looked to Vesper nervously but tried not to show it to much. Winterwind smiled at the new cat. "Hello Vesper. How have you been?" She asked politely. She was more friendly and not quite as worried. Wildpaw turned to check on Bloomfrost and realized her nervousness. "We just wanted to see how you were." He told her we will leave in a moment.

"I'm doing well. Thanks to your medicine cat. I appreciate the care." he bowed his head slightly, still keeping his distance from the queens. He glanced at Wildpaw, perhaps it would be best to leave for now. Winterwind didn't seem to mind, but Blossomfrost was on edge.

Wildpaw dipped his head to both queens. "I am glad you are doing well." He padded out of the nursery before turning to Vesper. "Sorry I forgot this was Bloomfrost first litter and she gets nervous about everything. I didn't even think about you making them nervous." He sighed. "The elders won't have any problems though."

Wildpaw entered the elders den to find four older cats sitting and talking. One with one cloudy blue eye turned at their approach. "Hello there Wildpaw. I see we finally get to meet the young tom you've been telling us about."
Wildpaw looked paniced. "Cloudwatcher!" He gave the elder a look that said, "Why did you have to say that?" The other elders turned.
"Its nice to meet you. I am Rosetail." The ginger she cat introduced herself with a purr. "I am glad you are getting better."

Vesper smirked and bumped Wildpaw with his shoulder "I see you've been talking about me." he then turned to the elders and nodded politely "Hello, my name is Vesper. I'm happy your clan allowed me to stay this long."
A stringy black she-cat looked him up and down and said "Not really clan cat material, but you'll do."
Chuckling lightly Vesper shook his head "I am grateful, but I don't believe clan life is for me." the she-cat only shrugged and looked to Wildpaw.
"Found a stubborn cat huh?"

Wildpaw felt his pelt warm in a blush. He turned when the she cat mentioned Vesper and clan life and for a moment he felt his heart leap a little but Vesper quickly mentioned that clan life wasn't for him. He nodded at her comment. "Yeah he is that." He answered as Cloudwatcher grinned. "Almost as stubborn as you?" He asked.

"I, was never stubborn." the elder, Ashfoot, replied. At that all the other elders simply rolled their eyes and snorted. Guessing by their reactions that was a lie and the she-cat was obviously very stubborn in her young age, probably the same now.
Vesper laughed, they were all obviously very close.

Cloudwatcher turned to Ashfoot. "You weren't stubborn and I wasn't a trouble maker." He answered.
Wildpaw laughed. "Alright then I groomed yesterday today I am to clean out and get fresh bedding. Whose bed is the worst?" He asked with a grin.
Rosetail turned to look at the others. "I assure you its not mine." She smiled her eyes twinkling.

Ashfoot rolled her eyes "I'm sure it's Cloudwatchers." they moved so the apprentice could clean out bedding. Even Vesper pitched in once he got the idea of it. The fourth elder Birdjump was a bit more reserved but he even ended up talking to the newcomer. He had lost his paw in an accident so he didn't move much, but did talk with the two younger cats.

Wildpaw finished cleaning out the bedding and replacing it. "Well that ought to be better." He turned to Vesper. "Thanks for helping out."
Cloudwatcher smiled at the toms. "You sure your not into Clan life Vesper?" He asked. "Seems to me Wildpaw could use a cat like you to keep him on his toes. What do you think Birdjump?"
((Laughed at the name Birdjump I read a book not long about with a parrot named fishjumping.))

"No problem." Vesper nodded. He rolled up the dirty moss like Wildpaw. Flicking his ear when they brought up clan life again.
Birdjump nodded and stretched out on the moss "I think Wildpaw would like it. And he seems to have gained most of the clans trust. But if it truly does not suit him we cannot force anything." he smiled at the loner and nodded slightly "Not all cats are good at being tied down in one place."

Vesper nodded "You got that right." they left after saying goodbye to the elders. Once outside he said "Another myth busted. You don't kill off older cats." he smirked knowingly, it was likely all the other overly cruel myths were fake. (We could do a Lion King 2 kinda move on this if we wanted to?? Like, some loners Vesper pissed off could attack and blame him??)

Wildpaw grinned. "It seems we will never live up to your standards." As they padded toward the entrance to camp where they were to meet Wildpaw's mentor he looked thoughtful. "So What do they say about our hunting abilities?" ((Not bad it would help to move the story along.))
((I noticed the boards seem to be moving faster now as I keep having to bump up my adoption center to keep it visable. Guess more people came to the site during my absence.))

"They say a single cat from your clan can take down a hundred mice. Though that's impossible. They also said you hunt and eat foxes, losing a ton of cats each battle. To be honest the more I repeat them, the more silly these sound." he laughed and matched pace with the other tom "I'll certainly surprise them when I head back and tell them what actually happens."
(Yeah, the forums or no where near as popular as the old ones. But they seem to be getting there. I can totally check out you center if you want tho)

Wildpaw watched the interaction between his mentor and Vesper. Things looked a bit tense. "His sprain is better too." He commented wanting blackfern to not be too hard on Vesper.
