Almost immediately, the young tom perked up. He wasn't one to old grudges. "Yeah, that'd be great! I'd love to learn some hunting techniques!" He practically bounced in excitement, eager to learn. "Nightpaw and I used this awesome ambush technique - I chased the mouse right into his paws!" He couldn't;t wait to get back to the camp that evening and tell his friend all he'd learnt. Maybe when the incident had blown over and Blackfoot had forgiven them for wandering off they could go hunting again sometime.

[ ooh, swimming! This will probably be my last post for the day c: ]
"I don't think we've been swimming, no." Cedarpaw pictured the many streams running through the territory. While he didn't mind the water, he'd never imagine leaping in after prey. It would be good to learn, surely, and no doubt Nightpaw would be impressed. Swimming would also be incredibly useful for his training as a scout, he mused. What if the territory flooded? He made a silent vow not to fear the water - he would learn to swim, and he'd learn to hunt there, too. "That sounds like a really good plan."

I won't be on a ton today because I'm going wedding dress shopping with my best friend and I have to spot clean my horse afterwards but I'll be on as much as I can. When I'm not on Bluespur will be in charge of accepting new members because he knows my standards. |

Blackfoot looked at his apprentice, face expressionless. He flicked his tail to indicate that Nightpaw should follow him and began to walk out of camp without a word. "We're running towards the pine forest by the Reflecting Lake," he said, picking up a steady jog. It was a statement, not a question. There was no anger in his words, however, just focus. "Though you and my son left camp without asking, I understand it was for a good cause, so there will be no punishment other than normal training." Blackfoot's training sessions were punishment enough in of themselves, and so this was a small mercy.

Okay, see ya!) Mousestep glanced back at him. "Well this is a great time to start." He caught sight of the sparkling water, glinting through the trees and picked up his pace. "The lake has plenty of fish, I'm sure by the end of the day you'll be a professional." He smiled softly to himself, remembering the first time he had gone hunting in the lake and learned to swim. He thoroughly enjoyed it now, and was determined to teach Cedarpaw to love the water the same way he did. |

Brightblaze glanced up as Sedgeleaf approached, surprised that the warrior had wandered over. Caught off guard by his friendliness, it took her a moment to conjure up the words. "S-sure," she stammered, unused to cats considering her approachable. Her quick temper usually meant that they kept their distance. The toms open friendliness was a nice change. She nudged the squirrel with one paw, pushing it towards Sedgeleaf so that the cream hunter could have the first bite. "I'd like that," she added quietly.

Cedarpaw took a deep breath and waded in after his mentor. The icy water soon lapped at his belly fur, sending shivers down his spine. Still, the little apprentice forged forward, until his toes could barely touch the bottom. Gaze fixed on his mentor, still a little way out due to her longer legs, he pushed off the rocky bottom. He almost immediately sank until just his eyes and nose were above the water. Remembering Mousestep's words, he fought back a wave of panic and began to paddle furiously until he was moving - rather awkwardly, but still moving - through the water. "Look, Mousestep! I'm doing it!"

The little cat had to paddle twice as fast to keep up with his mentor. Brow furrowed in concentration, he waved his tail back and forth, testing Mousestep's words. A laugh escaped him as he paddled parallel to the shore. Just wait until I tell Nightpaw about this! A distant splash caught his attention. He pictured fish twisting below the surface. Would they be difficult to catch? Surely they'd be fast, but so was he. "Is that a fish, Mousestep?'
