Intro
You sit at the edge of the riverbank, staring at the frogs that hop from rock to rock, and the fish that dart back and forth. A slight breeze rustles the cattails down near the bank and birds begin to sing overhead. You’ve been wandering for days now, in search of a place to possibly call home. ‘Perhaps I could stay here awhile’ you think to yourself as you pad to the edge of the river. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a small fish slowly swim by and stop in place. ‘Easy’ you think as you crouch down and creep closer to the unsuspecting fish. As you raise your paw to strike, you hear a rustling in the reeds behind you. Before you can turn around to see what the sound was a large body barrel's into the side of you, pinning you down.
“Who do you think you are hunting on RiverClan territory?” the large figure hisses.
“I- was… I just…” you begin to stammer trying to gather your thoughts. “What’s a clan?” you finally mew. The large white cat eases up slightly when you ask what a clan is.
“Don’t know what a clan is?” the white tom meows back and gets off of you. “A clan is like a large family. We live together and work together in order to survive. We hunt in our territory and fight any intruders off to keep the clan safe.”
The idea of a clan begins to appeal to you more and more as the white cat goes on. “I’m Cloudstar, leader of RiverClan,” he meows, pausing to cough, “You seem to have some natural ability when it comes to fishing. Would you like to join us?”

Territory
The River - A source of food and protection from the other clans for RiverClan. While it is usually peaceful, it occasionally will flood.
Twoleg Bridge - Built by two-legs. Whenever the river floods this allows RiverClan cats to get to FourTree's.
The Gorge - A deep gorge cut by the river in the terrain. This acts as the border with WindClan. Apprentices are forbidden to go near it for the danger it poses.
Beech Copse - The beech copse is a thicket of Beech trees near the WindClan border. RiverClan cats use this area to teach their apprentices to battle, climb, and hunt prey that isn't fish.
Sunning Rocks - Sunningrocks is located at the very border between RiverClan and ThunderClan next to the river. It is a large, flat rock formation in full view of the sun, getting very warm. It is a desirable location for warriors to take a break or elders to get out and stretch their legs. There are lots of prey animals nearby. (Currently part of RiverClan's territory)

Camp
RiverClan's camp is on a located in a large, well-drained, island and is surrounded by tangles of reeds. In the central area of camp, the cats lie and share tongues in the sun. In order to prevent the dens from being washed away or flooded, all the dens are tight woven. Many cats in the clan will also stick shells, feathers, or other shiny, pretty object into the walls of the dens. Because the camp is on an island, RiverClan's camp is rarely attacked by the other Clans due to most of them being afraid of water or lacking the ability to swim well enough.
Warrior's Den - In the tangle of one of the reeds. It is also right next to the nursery. In the roof and walls of the den, cats have woven in sparkling rocks and shells from the river. The light dances on these, casting beautiful reflections throughout the den. Across the central clearing, the elder's den, leader's den, apprentice's den, and the medicine's den dwell. They are all in a tangle of reeds covered by a hard reed roof.[12]
Nursery - The nursery is tucked away into a thick sedge wall. It is made of thick and tightly woven willow branches and reeds. The river comes up very close to the nursery. The tightly woven walls help prevent it from washing away in the case of a flood. Being close to the river also allows the kits to practice getting wet and swimming. This allows them to get used to the water before their apprenticeship.
Across the central clearing, the elder's den, leader's den, apprentice's den, and the medicine cat's den dwell. They are all in a tangle of reeds covered by a hard reedy roof.
Medicine Cat's Den - located past a deep olive sedge and in a calm den.
Apprentice's Den - A tangle of reeds tightly woven to form walls. It has a warm coating of moss on it.
Elder's Den - is at the high end of a slope. It is made of woven willow stems.
Leader's Den - built of willow stems and woven into the roots of the ancient willow.

Traits and Characteristics
RiverClan cats are known for their outstanding fishing skills and their unique love for water. They also love beautiful things and are known to collect many rocks, shells, and feathers to decorate their dens. They eat mainly fish, but they can also eat water voles, shrews, and mice. RiverClan cats dislike adding birds to their fresh-kill pile. They are contented, sleek, well-fed cats with well-groomed fur. They are known to be clever and graceful but are perceived outside their Clan as being stubborn and lazy. Their long fur and glossy coats are an asset while swimming. RiverClan gets by in leaf-bare, because according to other Clans, they fatten themselves on fish during greenleaf in preparation for leaf-bare. Sometimes other Clan cats call them "fish-faces", or "fish-breath". They are quite strong swimmers and move through the water as if they are part of it. Their lightning reflexes help them scoop fish from the bank with ease.
