Carrying the bluejay in his jaws, Gray continued to follow Sandy's scent trail. He spotted the she-cat tasting the air and he decided not to approach her straight away, in case prey was nearby. He tried not to drool over the bluejay in his jaws as he waited. Sandy caught the scent of a rabbit nearby. She sprang up from her sitting position, buried the three mice she had, and trotted to the source if the scent. She hoped the rabbit would not scent her. Gray sat down quietly, keeping the bluejay in his jaws. He didn't want to forget this catch. He tasted the air and realised Sandy was after a rabbit. |
