Sorrelpaw w/ Stumblestep - Flintfang w/ Sharpthistle & Acornfall -
Blossompaw w/ Silverstar SORRELPAW A small, bashful smile came to Sorrelpaw's face as a barbed tongue slid over his ear. "Okay...I might." Although being familiar with her rather resolute soul, the journey back to camp had Stumblestep seeming rather...strange. Then he connected the dots; her low shoulders, slightly flattened ears, the contrived smile.
"You look a little sad, teacher," he meowed, pressing his head into her soft fur. "Is something wrong?"
He didn't mean to get nosy again, nor did he realize he was being so; it was just his compassionate temperament that he was overly worried about his mentor. His voice deviated from its general sweetness; it seemed harsh, something rare coming from his.
BLOSSOMPAW Blossompaw's eye twitched, her face now looking very angered. What was this, some sort of punishment for her vanity? "Geez, I get it," she hissed, not caring about her willfully disobedient tone - in front of the leader. "You want me to run around in dirt and twigs to just make me stop worrying about my looks, huh? Whatever." She puffed, strutting over to the area with disgust in her gaze. "But I'm not easy to work with, and you know it," she whispered inaudibly to herself.
FLINTFANG "I concur. Sorrelpaw can't exactly learn from a mentor who can scarcely walk straight." His nose twitched, sniffing the air. The literary tom wasn't planning to go about his day badmouthing about someone, as such a thing wasn't typical for the serious tom to do. But he didn't feel anything from doing so; he just went with the flow.

Acornfall's ear flicked as he listened to the other two toms on the patrol begin to ridicule the disabled she-cat in their clan who somehow continued to be a warrior. He had no opinions in either direction, if he was being honest. The she-cat should be given a nod for her sheer willpower and determination, which had allowed her to figure out a way to become a warrior, even if a good portion of it was naivety nudging her along. He had no objections to that. He did, however, agree that apprenticing a young cat to her was a rather... one sided choice. It gave Stumblestep the hope that she could continue to be a great warrior, and yet also hampered the learning of her apprentice. The young cat had no way to learn what to do with that hindleg of hers that wasn't damaged, there was no visual aid from her mentor. He gave a gruff huff of agreement finally, nodding his head once. He wasn't going to add to the conversation with nothing to give.
~
Gingerpaw was only just getting used to his mentor's soft spoken nature. She was quite the opposite of his sister, who couldn't shut her jaws if she tried. He crouched down beside her, careful not to disturb anything and making sure to stay completely silent so that he could hear her explanation. Chamomile... he sniffed it again, rubbing a paw lightly over the leaves of the plant in an attempt to commit it to memory. He jumped slightly at her suggestion, looking at her with a confused gaze. "But... we're medicine cats. Don't we not have to fight?" he asked, cocking his head with question. He knew that he looked the part of a warrior, yet... there was something that had pulled him away from that life. He wasn't sure what it was that pushed him away from it, but it was there. He wouldn't argue with his mentor about it, but he was apprehensive all the same and preferred to have a reason.

Stumblestep paused only slightly when she heard her apprentices words and odd tone, his voice deviating from its usual pitch. It was...odd. But the she-cat merely continued on her way, as if not wanting to answer the question. She was...fine. "I'm fine." She spoke softly, "I'm not sad just....regretful. About a lot of things." She let out a sigh, eyes trained on ahead. She had stumbled slightly with a misstep, but, caught herself, her claws digging into the ground slightly so she wouldn't slip. Her body was angled in a way that inferred she did not want his help. Pushing herself back up, she shook off her fur as she continued onward. "But more importantly....how would you feel if I asked Swiftstar to change me as your mentor? Maybe to some cat like...Duskfeather or Owlflight. Yes, yes, those two seem perfect for the task." She purred softly. Rarely did she ever voice her doubts about things concerning her injury and the tasks that it hindered - however, even the energetic, happy-go-lucky warrior realized how much of a hindrance it was to her apprentices training - and that was something that would make even her downright serious. "Perhaps I'll offer to help with training, Starclan forbid she hurts herself even more." Sharpthistle mused aloud. It might've helped in giving the illusion to the other two that he actually cared about the well being of Stumblestep and genuinely wanted to help. Sure, he supposed he somewhat did....but otherwise, it didn't interest him. As they padded along, he paused suddenly, taking in a deep breath as the scents of the forest came rushing in. "How odd..Hm...A cat whose not from our clan? Maybe it drifted in from the wind." The tom suggested, but scowled. Ugh, disgusting, filthy, traitorous rogues - how perfect. They were like fleas - just needing to be squashed. He sincerely hoped that the scent really had just drifted on the wind. He dd not want to deal with this. Then again, if a situation did happen, he could just let the other two tom's deal with it. Flintfang, for example, looked as though he could take on a badger by himself and still turn out fine. He considered himself more of a...ah...'general' than a fighter.

❈ -- Swiftstar just stared at the apprentice, unspeaking, her face hardening. "You have to learn. Life as a warrior isn't about keeping a sleek pelt and eating all the prey you want. Survival. Especially in our forest. Prey is hard to find, the competition for it, and just the weather. Cats have to be strong and staying inside dens, washing your pelt does not help or effect your training. I'm not trying to make you suffer, I'm trying to help you," the leader hissed. "And I know you're a fussy apprentice. I'm not afraid to admit it, and so aren't you. But you've got to get used to it. You're not a kit anymore, Blossompaw. You're an apprentice."

❈ -- Flickerpaw padded out into the opening, having a disdainful looks on his face. I hope I don't have to train today. And I'm never going to anyways. At least not today. The weather was better than usual. The weird looking tom padded towards a corner, sat down, and started washing his pelt. Hmph. Well at least I'm alone right now... hope no dumb cat comes and bugs me. Might as well kill them if they do.

Shaking her head again, Shadepaw paced around the camp for the millionth time today-having wandered around from dawn to sunhigh already. Him! If I didn't know better, I'd say he didn't care about his apprentice. Sitting down, she swept her gaze over the camp, rested on Flickerpaw, and moved on. Gracefully rising to her paws, she paced over to the apprentice. Flopping back down beside him, she gave him a glance that was really meant to regather her composure. "I haven't seen Redbreeze at all today," she confessed shrewdly. She really didn't know Flickerpaw that well, but here he was the only company she had at the moment. At least my mentor can't blame for sitting in camp doing nothing today.

❈ -- Flickerpaw glared at the she-cat apprentice, turning away. "Go away," he snapped. "I don't need some apprentice following me all day. Didn't you say you needed your mentor? Find him then and stop following me." Seriously. Just because you're older and the deputy's apprentice doesn't mean that you're all so special and that you get to bug other cats all the time. This cat needs to learn the word modest. After she hadn't left, he continued. "I thought I told you to leave!" He snarled, suddenly jumping up. "I'm leaving if you don't leave."

Shadepaw assessed his glare coolly. "My mentor is off to places I don't know. If you want me to leave so bad, why don't you tell me where he is?" She refused to budge, giving him a sour look. He thinks that I actually have time to spare! He thinks that I have nothing better to do that sit here and talk to him! He thinks-he thinks- "And, if my mentor won't work with me, the leastyou can do is help me do something! And I'm not even finished yet!"

❈ -- "Alright. I'll go search for him if that's what'll make you leave!" Flickerpaw growled angrily. Yeah, like I would. All I'd do is just leave you. Like I'd need a random cat begging for comfort. "Besides, can't you go find another cat to be with me? I don't want you, and I'm pretty sure you don't want me either."

She narrowed her eyes. "You're lying," she hissed. "I can tell when someone is lying." Quickly she smoothly composed her face again. "If you'd like me to find another cat for you, I'd be glad to. However, there's only warriors left in the camp-besides, where is your mentor anyway? Not that I care, but just for the talks?" Her burning gray eyes bored into his. Do you really think being unpleasant is nice? Well, I won't disagree. I don't care.

❈ -- Flickerpaw huffed in annoyance. "Puh-lease," he rolled his eyes, continuing. "alright. I admit it. I'm lying. And you apparently know that, somehow." Stalker. "My mentor is in the world of StarClan knows what," the dark tom snorted. "Maybe that's where your mentor is. Perhaps they're mating," he said in a sort of ominous and dark tone. Even though they're toms. Maybe Redbreeze and Duskfeather are both gay. Totally likely, he added with a roll of his eyes.

[I'm sorry! I'm not open at the moment.....] Shadepaw glared at him. "Of course I know you're lying! It's obvious!" She shook her head, and listened to him rant on about mentors. Great StarClan, he's insane! She glared at him again. "You're mind is messed up. Focus on something that concerns reality for once." She flattened her ears and flicked her tail angrily, but not giving in to the full momentum of her anger, keeping her face clean of emotion.

❈ -- "Oh fine!" He snarled. "You're messed up. So am I. We're all messed up. And messed up cats shouldn't be with messed up cats cause it's just dumb. I'm leaving. And you're not following me or else." Flickerpaw spun around, stalking away back towards the apprentice's den, wishing he had never left it. She-cats. Always annoying and meddlesome. He huffed, and faced towards the den wall. "Are you still there?" He asked coldly, not bothering to turn around and look.

She tilted her head to one side, enjoying the emotions on his face. It was delightful to see such tormented expressions playing out. It was personally satisfying. Unraveling cats were fun. He'll never know what I'm thinking, she mused. He'll never know what I thought. She got up, and without another word, with an amused look still on her face, followed him, not answering as he asked if she was there.

Brindleflower She-cat - 32 moons - Medicine Cat ________________________________________________ Location - her den Mood - at ease Tagged- Gingerpaw
Watching as Gingerpaw memorized the herb, her tail flickering, a bit impressed that he even bothered to commit the feeling of the leaves to memory. Noticing his confusion, the she-cat slowly shook her head in response and rose to her paws to put the Chamomile back where it belonged in her stock. "No. In the heat of battle, any cat could attack you. Medicine cats aren't immune to fighting, and all of them should learn how to fight." She murmured, using her thin tail to sweep away leaf dust, focused on her task for a moment. "Don't worry, I'm not going to teach you how to attack or take down a warrior, just how to defend yourself. It'll come in handy against rogues who don't know who our medicine cat is, and against Bronzeclan and Silverclan if they get any cheeky ideas. You're my successor, Gingerpaw, and you need to learn to protect yourself between the time after my death and before your own apprentice is trained." Finishing her job, it was surprising for her to have talked so much, but protection was one of the non-medicine things she was determined to teach her new apprentice. He needed to be safe, then she'd be more at ease in training him, knowing he can save himself if anything went bad.

❈ -- The black and golden tom whipped around, glaring at Shadepaw. "I thought I told you to leave!" He yelled furiously. Flickerpaw stomped towards the silvery apprentice, his nose literally touching hers. "Leave!" I don't want to do anything with you! Why can't you just leave? A realization hit him. She's deliberately trying to annoy me. I shouldn't act like this. No wonder she's acting much calmer. Flickerpaw looked away. Just. Stay. Calm. Stay. Calm. Stay. Calm. Those two words repeated through his head continuously until he completely forgot about the she-cat apprentice behind him.

Shadepaw again, assessed his anger calmly. He's mad,she thought gloriously. This is the most fun I've had in ages. It's hilarious.Shadepaw opened her mouth to say something, but Flickerpaw stomped towards her, eyes flaring. He's much too close, she thought with panic. Much, much too close. Without thinking, she backed away, still keeping her face clean of emotion. She had a lot of practice with that.

❈ -- Flickerpaw stepped away as did Shadepaw. "Just go," he said in a slightly miserable voice. I'm a fool. I'm a stupid, stupid idiot. Why can't I control anything? "I-I just want to be alone. I'm..." he swallowed, and then continued. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry okay!" He turned around having a look of deep frustration and... insaneness. "I should just... or you should just go. I'm not proper. You know that and so do I."

Shadepaw listened with gradual confusion. Why? Why now? she hooked the grass in front of her with glistening claws. Stop. Regather your thoughts first. Be careful of what you say. Don't say anything if your can't control yourself. She took a deep breath, and felt panic building up in her again. But I can't. "I...I...I'm sorry too." She paused to compose her manner. "I don't have to go. Sorry. I will not go. Just listen, okay? Be someone...you want to be."

Sorry for poofing. Buying Christmas Presents.) Daryl laid in his small nest he formed of leaves, twigs, and some soft moss that he found near a river he found when he was exploring a bit. The tom remeber ed his brother, Merle's, death that haunted him because Daryl knew it was his fault that Merle died. The tom sighed and curled into a ball hoping to become stress-free from the craziness that surrounded him.

"Okay..." the tom closed his eyes for awhile and then opened them again. "Can- can you come with me? I just want to talk... in private." Great StarClan. Is this the right thing to do? To talk such private things to a nuisance? "You know," he said quickly. "you don't have to if you don't want to..."

❈ -- Hailsong glanced at the fresh-kill pile and then away. It's awfully boring here. Perhaps I could check the border... The white tom got up and padded out of the camp entrance into Echo's Forest. I'm pretty sure everything will be fine. Everything has to be fine. He sped up his pace, hoping to make it to the border and back before night-fall.
