Quietleaf sat in the center of the 'camp'. Her long tail was wrapped around her black tipped paws. Her blue eyes scanned the area, taking in the many cats that had gathered together in desperation after the apocalypse. As a medicine cat, Quietleaf was tasked with duty of healing her fellow cats. Due to the unstable buildings, toxic water, and unpredictable weather, the she-cat was almost always busy. However, her apprentice, Bristleberry was helping a lot. Quietleaf didn't feel as stressed with the help. The medicine cat sighed softly, closing her eyes. 

(I'll see if I could make someone while adding flames characters. My laptop is being difficult, so I don't know how it will go.)

"Stagstep called a goodbye to his sister over his shoulder as they left the building, "So what are we gonna do today? Should we go to the closer building or to the farther one?" He skipped and ran up ahead to a small outlook over the town, next to the path down the steep slope. "Woah, I never get tired of this view!" Stagstep was about to turn around when he heard a warning call of a bird in a tree near an alley. It was followed closely by the frustrated screech of a cat. "Hey!" Stagstep frantically tried to grab Tornwind's attetion. "Did you see that? There's a cat in the alley closest to us! We have to go check it out! Please, please, please?"

Tornwind sighed. He knew that Stagstep was excited about being a warrior. However, if it was a cat... Tornwind had to make up his mind. They had a job, but the cat may need help. "Fine," Tornwind sighed. "However, we need to hunt. I'll take Maplefall ahead to do so. You may see what is going on. But keep your distance. Do not approach lightly. If the cat does need help, come find us. We'll be heading for the first hunting ground. And do not even think of taking the cat back to the camp." Believing he had made himself clear to the young warrior, Tornwind stopped.

"Where are we hunting?" Hollypaw asked. Her eyes flicked upwards when she thought she saw a shadow, but it was just a small bird flying by. Luckily. The apprentice followed her mentor.

Hollypaw nodded, listening closely. She knew better than to drink the park water, it was an unspoken rule. Testing out the crouch, she scanned for squirrels, sniffing the air. There! Her eyes darted to a squirrel moving in the bushes. Slowly, she moved forward, focused on the prey. The squirrel paused for a moment. For the cat, a moment was enough. Hollypaw shot forward, and at her movement the squirrel darted away, but not fast enough. Proudly, Hollypaw brought her catch back to her mentor. Of course, it wasn't the first time she caught a squirrel, but it still made her happy to catch one.

While Hollypaw had been an apprentice for 2 moons, she still got excited over hunting. She pushed some dirt over her squirrel, and went to see if she could catch another. Squirrels were fun to hunt, though she preferred mice. Her first catch was a mouse when she had first started apprenticeship. Pricking her ears, she found another squirrel. However, this one got away from her.

Hollypaw nodded, then padded a little further. Pausing, she caught the scent of a bird, and dropped to a crotch. She was almost behind it when she stepped on a twig. The bird went to take off, but Hollypaw was able to hook a claw into it's wing. Dragging it down, the apprentice bit it's neck, then brought it back to her mentor and where she had left her squirrel.

Hollypaw followed her mentor back to the camp. Placing her bird on the pile, she took off, bringing the squirrel to the nursery that the kits were playing in front of. "Are you hungry?" The apprentice asked Fernfall. "Oh, thank you," The queen replied.

Crowstar had his tail curled around his paws. Seeing the warrior and apprentice come up the stairs to the second floor, he nodded with approval at their catches. The hunting patrol wouldn't be back for a while, he knew, and was happy to see the clan taking care of itself. Standing, he weaved his way through the cats, watching his step so he didn't step on one of Fernfall's kits. Even with their mother's watchful eye, the two, or at least Rabbitkit, were getting into trouble. Couldn't be helped, kits were kits, no matter what you did.

Hollypaw looked at her mentor. "But you told me to clean out the apprentice den," She said. "And I don't know where Brokenwing is."
