Flickerblaze ; my poor child oh no xD ] Meadowlark's ear twitched and she turned her head softly once Dustleaf strode out of the den, her amber eyes brightened a little. Perhaps it was because there was another cat besides the other few who were out as well? The she-cat couldn't really blame them though.. It was a bit chilly, even for a thick-furred warrior like herself. The one thing the shy warrior didn't expect was an approach. So when the she-cat started heading towards her, the calico's mind scattered quickly. What to say, what to say..! The voice in her head echoed and she looked to her paws quickly. She said morning! come on now! "U-Uh Good morning!" She sputtered out back in greeting, feeling her fur heat as she continued in a futile attempt to regain composure. "Er.. Dustleaf! H-How goes it..this morning?" [ Don't worry 'bout it  ] Dustleaf stopped in front of Meadowlark and sat down casually. She could sense that the she-cat was uncomfortable, so attempted to ease her uneasiness. "Rather achey, actually," she replied, frankly, but with a smile. "My joints don't like the cold. They seize up." She laughed. "I sound like an elder, don't I?" She wrapped her tail over her paws and looked up, taking a moment to admire the changing leaves shivering on the trees above her head. |

"Okay," Sandfoot agreed, veering in the right direction, picking up pace as he relished the cool leaf-fall air. He was fine with the distance; the further away it was, the longer he could be out of camp. [Aw, bye Rush! And hi Ice! Is it okay if I make another couple o' charries? ] [ here is this for when you come back! ] --- Lightcloud nodded and followed Sandfoot, picking up her pace along with the tom. She had always loved the territory of BriarClan, and thanked StarClan often for placing her in such a beautiful and cozy home. The bicolored she-cat perked her ears and at the rustling sounds of the leaves, and while they were heading for a specific direction, she kept her nose open for signs of prey as well.SaveSave[Of course I'm still interested ] Sandfoot slowed down as he heard the sound of gurgling water; at the pace he had been running, it hadn't taken as long as he had expected to reach their destination. He glanced over his shoulder and grinned at Lightcloud, rather uncharacteristically for him. As soon as he came within sight of the pond, he halted and started scenting for prey. Almost instantly, he scented a blackbird, and spotted it not far away in a glade. "Do you want to go for that?" he hissed, knowing that blackbirds were best caught as a two cat job; one flushing it towards the other, the other striking it. |

Noticing Sandfoot's smile, Lightcloud couldn't help but return one. The she-cat knew how reserved and quite the tom was, so for him to reach out to her like that made the she-cat feel good. She slowed her pace down to match it with Sandfoot. She pricked her ears and scented the air, catching the black bird instantly. Lightcloud looked over at Sandfoot and nodded. "I'll push and you catch?" She asked softly, her words barely a whisper. Before the tom could answer, the white and gray she-cat crept off toward the bird. Once she was close enough to see it, she straighten out her tail and crept forward once more. Lightcloud gently stepped on a twig to make it snap, allowing for the bird to slightly take off so Sandfoot could reach it better.

Sandfoot, feeling a surge of confidence, got swiftly into his position opposite Lightcloud, in the path of the blackbird's most likely trajectory, making sure to be both downwind and just out of sight of the bird. As Lightcloud stepped on a twig and the bird took off towards him, he launched nimbly out of the undergrowth, plucking the blackbird easily out of the air and finishing it off with a swift, clean bite to the neck. He couldn't help but smile. "Teamwork," he meowed, with a shy, but warm smile at the she-cat.

Lightcloud watched in silence as Sandfoot went after the bird. And just like that, it was done. The tom had administered a clean kill and Lightcloud was impressed. Birds could be tricky, but Sandfoot obviously knew what he was doing. "Good job!" She purred, padding up to the tom and gently flicking his ear with her plumy tail.

Sandfoot glanced at the she-cat with his blue eyes, before shrugging modestly. "You were great too," he replied, feeling himself smile again. He laughed a little at the touch of her tail as it tickled his ear, feeling himself grow hot. To hide his sudden awkwardness, he quickly covered the blackbird with earth, in order to retrieve it later and jumped to his paws, feeling energised for the first time in what felt like moons. "Let's see what else we can find," he exclaimed brightly.

Lightcloud perked her ears at Sandfoot's confidence and felt her chest fur puffing out slightly. She had always considered herself to be a good hunter, but to hear it from someone felt great- especially someone that generally wasn't very vocal. The white she-cat pulled her gray tipped tail away from the tom and watched as he covered up the blackbird. She took a mental note of where it was hidden and turned back to look at the tom. "Sounds good." She mewed and padded off.

For Sandfoot, it was a boost to his confidence to hear Lightcloud's praise. Plus, nobody usually complemented him; he wasn't used to it. He stalked away through the undergrowth, opening his mouth to scent more prey. Before long, he scented mouse, and followed the trail.

Lightcloud followed after Sandfoot, though she kept about a fox-lengths distance behind him. She wanted to hunt with the tom since this was their venture, but she knew that she needed to catch her own prey. The she-cat saw him following after something, so she decided to let him be. Lightcloud stopped and scented the air, catching the faint scent of vole. She followed it until it got stronger, and her hunt began. The she-cat crouched and crept forward once she saw the small mammal, before she dashed out and gracefully caught it in her claws, administering an easy bite to the neck. She smiled contently at her catch and went back to sight of the black bird, burying it along with it.

Sandfoot crept up on the mouse, decidedly downwind from it. He quickly landed the kill and added it to the small pile where the blackbird and Lightcloud's vole were. He glanced over to the pond and wondered. "Um, Lightcloud," he meowed. "Do you think they'll be any fish in the pond this time of year?"

Lightcloud jumped slightly when Sandfoot approached from behind. She gave a small gasp and jerked around, immediately embarrassed at the sight of Sandfoot. She felt her fur grow hot and her tail lower slightly. Shaking off the feeling, Lightcloud gave a small thought to his words. "I'm not certain, but we can always check!" She said, twitching her whiskers. Lightcloud had never considered herself to be much of a fisher, but she didn't mind going with Sandfoot and watching.
