Ravenfeather nodded. "Well way before his time, there were three might Clans. LionClan had ran pelts, and thick, fluffy golden manes circling their heads and some on the tips of their tails. LeopardClan had golden pelts, had unusual, beautiful spots. TigerClan, just had plain orange pelts, and they longed for a special thing of their own from the other Clans. Do you know how they got their stripes?"

Froststar listened, captivated by the story, feeling like she was a kit again. She shook her dead, not knowing the answer. "How did they get their stripes?" She asked curiously, eager to know more. "Dos they believe in Starclan? Maybe Starclan have them their stripes?" She suggested quickly. The white leader's ears were perked to catch every word, happy and curious to know the story. (Sorry I haven't replied in forever! This was drowned out of my recent list)

(That's ok Quailfeather ) Ravenfeather cleared her throat before continuing. "No, they got their stripes because of a bitter and jealous warrior named Thorntooth. Thorntooth was angry and jealous that LionClan and LeopardClan both had things to tell them apart. LionClan had manes, and LeopardClan had spots. Thorntooth began stealing prey and kits from the other Clans, and attacking their warriors out of spite. Shareware, TigerClan's leader, ignored Thorntooth's actions until he stole Petalkit, daughter of LionClan leader Goldenstar. Shadestar, not wanting to go to battle over a kit, called a gathering and returned Petalkit to LionClan. Swiftstar, LeopardClan leader, and Goldenstar wouldn't excuse Thorntooth's actions when he complained about lack of distinct features. TigerClan was then sentenced to give up their honor for a moon, or however long it took for Thorntooth to stop acting out. They were not to be seen during the day, only at night. TigerClan obeyed their sentence, and when the moon was up at the next gathering, TigerClan cats found out that they had black slashes through their pelts for living in constant darkness. And that, is how TigerClan got their stripes."

Froststar listened in interest. "So, are tabbies decendants from Togerclan?" She asked curiously. She was surprised she'd never heard the story and she was happy she had, liking to listen to the tales of their ancestors.

Ravenfeather nodded her head. "Yes, they came from tigers, but those Clans are myths and legends, nothing more."

Froststar purred in delight, she loved listening to these little stories. "Myths or not, they hold stories of truth and through them, our ancestors continue to guide us." She mowed, getting to her paws and shaking out her fur.
