Firescorch gave a flick of his ear, not sure if he would be a good mentor or not. "I doubt Spiritstar would pick me to help with your training." He deadpanned. Despite his doubts about being a good mentor, he didn't think Emberpaw would appreciate having him as her new mentor. "Not only am I a new warrior, but you're not that far behind me in your apprenticeship. You'll be a warrior soon enough, so I'm sure Spiritstar will pick someone that's more than capable to finish you're training." "Tanglekit would be a nice name." Shadowmask said with a chuckle, giving her mate's wild fur a loving look. "I think Bramblekit would work if one of them has a pelt like yours too, what do you think?" She asked. "Well, whoever it is, I'm planning to train hard to catch up, so they better get up bright and early every single day." Emberpaw decided firmly, her eyes blazing with determination, before she looked at the camp entrance with another long sigh. "What is taking them so long..." "Bramblekit sounds like a great name, with spiky fur like mine." Wildstorm humored, though he did really like that name. He grinned at her. "Did Spiderbite determine how many you're likely gonna have? We had three the first time, you think it'll be three again?"

"Well, birds can fly and mice can't, but I'm guessing that's too obvious." Ledgepaw mewed thoughtfully, before he hummed lightly. "Does it have to do with how they sense us when we get close to them?" He tried, thinking of different solutions to her question but not knowing the exact correct one. Bluewing nodded with a purr, “Yes, very good, Ledgepaw. Mice can sense our movements in the ground through vibrations, so it’s best to take a stealthy approach to be sure not to make any noise. Birds you have to be a bit quicker, one wrong move and they will fly off and sound an alarm- ultimately lowering your chances of finding anymore prey.” Clearing her throat, she beckoned with her tail for Ledgpaw to crouch. “Show me your best hunter’s crouch.” (Hey everyone, long time no see I know(again), but school is almost out for me)

It wasn't perfect, but it was clear that the young apprentice had been practicing. "Like this?"

The blue-gray molly circled her apprentice, reaching out with a paw to help adjust Ledgepaw. “Almost, keep your rump out of the air. And relax your shoulders a bit, don’t be so tense. I know it may feel a little funny, one day it will be almost instinctual.” Returning to stand in front of him, Bluewing turned her back, flicking her tail on the ground. ”Pretend my tails a mouse. Stalk as silently as you can, I shouldn’t hear your paw steps.”

"Doesn't that sound like something a kit would be doing? But, I guess if that's the way to practice." He conceded, focusing on Bluewing's tail and stalking towards it.

Ledgepaw rolled his eyes, though he closed his jaws and remained silent for the rest of the lesson. He crept forwards, eyes trained intently on Bluewing's tail, before he bunched his legs and leaped forwards. He managed to grip her tail in one of his paws, though the other paw was a bit off. He huffed with faint annoyance at his lackluster catch.

Bluewing kept her ears pricked for the tabby apprentice, straining for even the lightest scrape on the ground. But, to her satisfaction, Ledgepaw was a quiet as, well, a mouse. When he pounced, she snatched her tail away, taking note of the apprentice grasping her tail-tip in one paw. “Your stalking was well for the first time, with more practice you’ll have it in no time. But if I were a real mouse, that’d make a sloppy kill. Let’s try again.” This time, she grabbed a nearby twig and placed it a few tail-lengths in front of Ledgepaw. “This time, I’ll be watching you. I want to see you try to shift all your weight off of your paws. Become light as a feather.”

Ledgepaw recited quietly to himself, narrowing his eyes at the stick that Bluewing placed down. This time, he was determined not to fail. He readied his stance again, the process of stalking being much easier for him than the pouncing part. He timed his jump better this time, taking note of his balance and aim, before he lunged again. This time, while still being a bit clumsy, he did manage to land right on the stick.

Bluewing watched intently at Ledgepaw’s stance, how slowly he moved, how quickly. She made note on the areas that needed work and the areas that he would easily have perfected in due time. “Better.” She purred, nodding her head toward the forest. “Let’s see if we can find our first real practice. Can you scent anything?”

Ledgepaw smiled lightly at Bluewing's praise, though he was quick to grow serious once again. He had managed to memorize most scents by now, so he hoped to impress with his tracking. He lifted his muzzle, frowning when he didn't scent anything at first. He did perk up after a moment though, as he padded towards a few ledges. He looked up. "I think a squirrel's made its way up there..."

"I would be happy to go!" Clovertail replied. It sound like fun, and there was a little risk factor yes? What if twolegs or a dog came? Always made life more interesting. "Do you like being a mother?" She asked. Clovertail didn't really see herself being a mother, but the thought always crossed her mind once in a while. But, would she want to stay in the nursery? Not really. Maybe I could, adopt kits. Yes! That way I could be a mother, but also go on patrols! Although she didn't plan on being a mother for a while yet. She was still young after all, and full of energy! "I loved being a mother." Cloudberry mewed, honest and kind, as she glanced over towards Plumwillow once again. She blinked, purring. "I still love being a mother. My kits mean everything to me. They make all the pain of the past worth it." She seemed to droop a bit. "Nettlesting is a good tom. He's different than most of the Clan, but I know he has a heart that dislikes when someone is treated wrongly. I just... think that he isn't happy here. I fear one day, he may not want this life." She admitted softly. Clovertail listened intently, flicking her tail slightly. But she couldn't really relate to Nettlesting. Clovertail hadn't had many interactions with the tom, but she wasn't going to judge if somecat didn't want the life of a warrior, even if she disagreed. It had seemed their conversation had ended flatly, and she thought of something to say. "It sounds like being a mother is very... rewarding! How were they when they were small kits?"

They used to play with the same pebble, they'd kicked it to eachother so much that it was nearly as smooth and round as a river stone." She remembered fondly, still having the pebble tucked away in the corner of her nest. It meant alot to her, for such a mundane thing. "They were like all kits, curious and full of energy."

Bluewing felt a pang of regret for not allowing Ledgepaw to climb up himself, but with the current crisis back in camp this wasn't the time to return with injuries. Next time. She promised herself before quietly climbing until she was above their prey. She stood a moment, judging the distance between her and the squirrel. Then she pushed off into the air and landed above the squirrel with a growl. The squirrel veered away from the blue-gray she-cat in fear, scrambling toward where her apprentice was hiding. "Ledgepaw, remember your lesson!" She called down, following after the rodent in case she had to step in.

As soon as the prey began to leap down the ledges, Ledgepaw was quick to bolt in. He sprang up, timing his leap with when the squirrel reached the ground. He snagged the prey with his claws, frantically leaning down to bite at the squirrel’s neck.

Hawkpaw had been following after the ThunderClan warriors silently, her tail dragging behind her and her head hanging low. She looked up when Nettlepatch spoke and gave a subdued nod, pushing ahead of Nettlepatch and Ravenshade and taking the lead. She started making her way towards the SkyClan camp, feeling a sense of dread starting to grow in her chest at the thought of having to deliver the news of Silvercloud's death and her parents disappearance to Spiritstar and her Clanmates.

Spiderbite hurried out of the warriors den with his tail between his legs after receiving quite the angry words from Splashecho when he asked if she'd been to the Dark Forest. Her denial was quick and she covered it up by bringing up her past and anguish caused by the Dark Forest. She lashed out when Spiderbite pushed further.
"Stupid queen," Spiderbite grumbled. He shook out his pelt and stormed down the cliff to the medicine den. "I don't know why she got so mad. It was just a question."

Seated outside of the camp on the guarding ledge, Flarestorm flicked his ear lightly as he swore he heard the sound of approaching pawsteps. As soon as he scented the familiar scent of Hawkpaw, he perked up, calling out casually into the forest. "There you all are! We were wondering when you... when..." He trailed off, his tone dropping in unease when he scented blood next. He leaped down from the ledge, ears falling. "Hawkpaw?"
