"Your family? Horrible cats? I would like to meet them, actually. If they're that horrible, why do you seem to like them then? At least I escaped when my father was killed by rogues." Giovanni's tail swayed back and forth as he thought about if he might have met this 'family' before.

"I don't like them and don't want to talk to them." She said quietly. She was feeling uncomfortable around Giovanni, and knowing he could hurt her at any time, right then, right now.

"What was your mother like?" he casually asked. "Since you said you don't like them, I would like to know why you don't like them." He tilted his head and grinned. "Did you have any siblings?"

"I don't want to talk about it." She cried. She rolled over so she wouldn't have to face Giovanni's handsome face. She hated him. She hated him. Did she hate him? Of course she hated him. Right?

Giovanni nodded. "Fine then. Did she hurt you or neglect you?" Even Rabbit, who wasn't very moral at all, was appalled at his behavior- he had had enough of the memories of his own parents, and wasn't doing well now that Giovanni was bringing them back to him.

Alix was an emotional wreck, and she wasn't ready to talk about her parents. In fact, she didn't feel like talking to Giovanni, but she was too weak and upset to move. "I don't want to talk about it."

"But you're not the one talking about it here," he said. "I'm just asking you questions, for all it's worth. We don't need a lengthy backstory about you, is that right, Rabbit?" he said, glancing at his servant. "Yes, Signore," replied Rabbit. "I'm already having trouble with my own memories, I don't need yours." Rabbit was then slapped by Giovanni. "That's not the right reason, you idiot! We're saying that because we don't have the time."

"Well, now what, Signore?" "Be quiet, Rabbit. The best thing we can do is slowly back away and deny everything." "Yes, Signore." And rabbit and Giovanni backed off, their eyes still on Alix.

Alix was glad that Giovanni was going, but she felt something else. Quickly denying it, she glanced at Giovanni.

Annie leaned against Chester soothingly. "Death happens, Chester. Sometimes, it's ended abruptly" She gestured to where Jagged's body once laid. Sirius had moved it during the interlude. "My Dad hates killing, but he has to, sometimes." She paused, brows furrowing as she remembered. "There was this trio of toms, when I was little, who cornered Shadow and me in an alley while we were practicing our pouncing. Said they'd kill us to send a message to my Dad, so he'd be weakened and they could take our nest for themselves. Dad swooped in because another rogue saw what was gonna happen and got him. Dad had to– well, they wouldn't stop coming, just like Jagged. He had to. There was no choice, otherwise one of us wouldn't be here."

Chester looked at Annie, and then looked at the blood."It's not him. I just wish my mother wasn't killed under the foot of that monster- I mean, nothing. Forget I said anything." He hadn't seen blood since his mother's death- and he never wanted to see it again. He looked up at Storm, wondering if the death really was necessary. He tried to stop crying and puff out his chest like nothing happened, but it didn't work. "I guess I really am a coward after all, like that Giovanni cat said."

Pollo stared at Storm's bloodstained paws, lost in thought. The young cat's ear twitched at the sound of his name. "Hm? Yeah I guess so, nothing here for me anyways." He muttered, staring down at the fish that lay at his feet. I'm not even sure if I could have beaten Jagged, yet this cat in front of me did so quickly and seemingly effortlessly... who is this guy?... "Storm..." The cream and white cat murmured deep in thought, flexing his claws. "What about him?" Sirius inquired, oblivious to the extent of Pollo's curiosity. "I know a bit about him, as much as everyone knows." He shrugged, "What you need to know, and what everyone else seemed to have forgotten, was that he is not afraid to kill. He's a rogue, and few of us haven't killed." Casting a glance at the weeping female that had been clinging to Giovanni with distain, Sirius had rolled his silver eyes. No, definitely not for him. Too emotional.

"It's not cowardice" Annie meowed sharply, turning her fierce gaze on Chester. "You're not a coward to be afraid of death, it just makes you sane. I'm terrified of death, and I know for sure my Dad is. He worries about it all the time, so he tries to keep us safe, even if he has to bloody his own paws to do it. Jagged would have killed me, you, and Sky because he knows my dad would be your guardian– while you're here at least, if you choose to be a wild cat. He'd keep you safe, make sure you'd have enough to eat, make sure you knew all you needed to know to take care of yourself someday. Jagged knew that, and most everyone here knows that as well. That's why Dad took him out so cleanly, quickly." She paused in her rant, eyes rounding when she realized what he'd said. "Your mom was killed by a monster?" A soft, gentle inquiry. "I'm sorry– I know it's not much but I'm sorry you had to see that."

Becoming uncomfortable where she was, Larkspur got up from her spot in the shadows of the nest and began moving around the back of the crowd toward the entrance. She wasn't planning on leaving that minute, but she was coming around to that. The meeting seemed almost over anyway, and she didn't want to be anywhere near that dead corpse. Shuddering, her gaze wavered on the important one for a few moments, considering her options (though she didn't have much of a choice but to leave anyway), and it wasn't until she looked down again that she noticed that she hadn't been watching where she was going, and had nearly run into two toms. One of them peach, one black. Larkspur's eyes widened and she quickly mewed an apology, "Excuse me..", tipping her head in respect of the older cats.

[ Blaze;; Yeah I get you. Azalea is acting a bit differently than normal, but that's only because she's trying to get over the fact she practically ditched her owner to go off on this adventure with a bunch of strangers to who knows where, and that's hard for a cat who's as committed and loyal as her. xD I pretty much think of Dove as the more level-headed cat because of her more compassionate and caring side to her. Azalea... not sure if she's really all that compassionate lol Hmm yeah, I guess it's not that bad of an age gap. Though, I think I do maybe want to bump her age to 26 moons perhaps because I feel I'm roleplaying her a bit older than she kinda is~ cx ]
Azalea & Dove - -
The she-cat lowered her head for a moment, subconsciously glancing at the bracelet on her left paw. "I know, I can't believe we're doing this either." Azalea meowed, her voice hushed and her dark green eyes wavering for a moment. A part of her still couldn't grip she was actually leaving. Blinking a few times, the chocolate tortoiseshell focused back on her friend. She was very grateful to have her friend here, just that gave her a sense of comfort. It was good to know she would have someone by her side for a while along this journey.
"Oh, ok." She meowed, nodding her head slowly. She understood a bit about the conditions Dove was living under. At least she has a better reason to want to leave. She thought. Then, her thoughts cast over to how she had managed to be under such circumstances with such harsh owners. Her tail lashed angrily at the thoughts. She forced herself to calm down, taking in a breath and sighing. "At least you're alright..." she meowed, thankful. At least she was alright and here where it was probably safer. Well maybe not as safe, seeing a cat just got murdered here. She commented dryly to herself.

"But it is, Annie. You stayed calm, everyone else stayed calm...and I'm over here, sobbing! And please...don't mention my mother..." Chester mewed quietly. He knew Jagged's death was for the best, but it brought back unpleasant memories of his mother's orange fur drizzled in blood, smashed to her death. He had never known his father, and there he was among his brown-and-orange siblings, all alone in the world back then. Sitting on the side of the road, helpless and vulnerable...

Sky gave Chester another comforting lick, although her usually calm blue gaze was bright with anger. She was usually a peaceful cat, but while Giovanni calling her useless was one thing, making Chester cry when he was already scared to death was another. She resolved then and there that if the brash tom should harm either of her new companions with word or claw again, he would be sorry. Oh, he will.. As Annie spoke, Sky was amazed that she had misjudged the kit so much. She had been under the impression that she knew nothing of the world, but wiser words came from the kit than Sky would have expected from a much older cat. As Chester's sobs subsided, Sky discreetly moved back to her original place, not wanting to damage the kit's pride any further. She shot a fierce glare at Giovanni, equal to any of Annie's looks and not rivaling in emotion. Then, she looked back at Storm. I very nearly misjudged you too, she thought, remembering what Annie had said. "Death comes abruptly.. But sometimes it has to." I'll remember that.. though I hope I'll never have to live that expression. She fairly shuddered at the thought of killing another cat, much less wounding them, then hoped that nobody had seen.

Luna looks around the area, she felt very uncomfortable mostly due to being uncomfortable about being around other cats. Her ears perked up and twitched around but she just wanted to lay down and rest. Her pale blue eyes looked around the area scanning around the area. "Hopefully no one finds me," she whispered.

Chester turned towards Sky. "Thank you, Sky- it's just I have trouble with the entire idea of 'death'. I pretend it's just sleeping to put myself at ease- but it never works..." he said, his voice trailing off.

[ Could I jump in with Jackdaw if that's alright with you Cyn? ]
Jackdaw & Luna - -
Seeing that things settled down a bit, Jackdaw merely groomed his paw as he listened to some of the conversations around him. Seems that quite a few are mostly keeping to themselves or mingling with others, he observed. Makes sense I suppose. It would probably take a while for everyone to be comfortable with one another... Just then he heard a whisper from a she-cat coming from his blind side. Without turning to her he meowed, "Try as you may, with the amount of cats here you are bound to run into someone." Though his deep tone clearly showed no emotion, you could actually depict a hint of amusement in it.

[That's fine Falle X3]
The black fluffy turned towards the tom that was talking to her. "That is true," she said her tone was filled with remorse and realization. She didn't want to be rude to the tom although she rather be alone. Although, she didn't want to keep avoiding others. She had to get over the abandonment issues. "What's your name?" she asks politely.

Sky gave Chester a kind look, glad that the kit hadn't noticed her own fear. She wished for all her heart that she could say something, but try as she might, she couldn't do it. Instead, she touched her tail to his shoulder, then whisked it back to her own side, tucking it neatly around her paws. She looked around the gathering, wondering what was going to happen next. She spotted a milky white she-cat, another youngster close to her age, looking very unsettled. Right now, Sky couldn't help but agree with her, but only partly. Sure, her life was about to change again, but it was a good change.
She glanced again at Jagged. A fly was investigating the body. Sky choked back a shudder. .. I hope. She felt it cruel to leave the tom's body in the open like so much prey. "Respect the fallen, even if they were your enemy," her mother had told her. Swallowing her disgust, she got to her paws and walked over to the body. She stood for a moment, looking in mixed disgust and pity. You poor fool. Why couldn't you have been happy with your own lot? She sighed, and that in itself was more than any words.
Sky sank her teeth into the scruff, gagging at the stench of death starting to permeate the air around the dead rogue. She grunted and started moving Jagged to the exit of the nest. It was hard work, and she was getting multiple looks of confusion, but she carried on, the lean muscles on her lithe body bulging with effort. After a fox-length or so she had to drop Jagged and stood there, panting and sides heaving. She looked at the other cats imploringly and a bit reprovingly. Is there not a soul among you with any sense?

Jackdaw & Luna - -
"However, that may not necessarily a bad thing," the black tom commented, his head tilting thoughtfully. "It could be the opportunity to meet some new faces." Jackdaw turned his head, focusing his good on eye the she-cat. "Like now would be an instance." He added, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "My name is Jackdaw, and it's a pleasure to meet you," he greeted, nodding his head in respect. "And your name, miss?" He might as well get acquainted with some of the cats around here at at least know their names, seeing that he would be traveling with them.

The black fuzzy she-cat gave a purr. "My name is Luna," she said in a respectful tone and sat up to be polite and actually talk to him. Her fluffy pelt made her look big, but underneath all that fur she was starving and frail. Her pale blue eyes were still filled with life and she was actually glad she came along. She gave a warm purr to her companion next to her.

"The more you hide from it the worse your fear becomes." Annie put it succinctly, but understandingly. "If you come with us, we'll help you." Grey eyes rounded, "Please, can both of you come with us? I would love more siblings. It's so lonely at home and Dad needs someone else to fret over, even two someone elses."
Storm had given his speech, and now there was the wait. "Those interested in joining us on the journey, please feel free to join me in the Shallows." With that finished, he retreated to a quiet corner to breathe. Of course, it was occupied. The little rogue he'd brought here, the one who was cautious. "I'm sorry for bothering you, Miss." He rumbled, ears flicking back as he stepped to the side, hesitantly. "I also apologize for the violence seen earlier. There was no way around it."
Sirius blinked when someone appeared and had nearly ran into him. "No worries, Miss...?" He tried to recall her name, but the female appeared to be one of the few cats he'd never met before. "I don't believe we've been introduced. I'm Sirius and this is Pollo. You are..?"
