"And I'll be internally grateful." Alix joked. At his comment, her ears pricked up. It was odd that they were getting along so well and they didn't even know each other's names! "The name's Alix." She said, smirking. "Rogue, no glaring. You?" She said, tilting her head to the side.

"Trace. I don't do labels, I'm in Storms Shallows with a few others." He made no mention about the journey, not knowing if she planned on going. "Alix huh? Fancy name for a rouge." The Bengal meowed, trying to hint that she may have kittypets roots.

Storm jumped, as predicted. He swung around, bristling and glaring at the female. "I can catch things just fine thank you very much" He growled out, straightening to his full height. "Have you been following me?" Not hostile, not quiet. More like it was a slightly angry curiosity. Frustration too, with the lack of viable prey to catch. Mitzi looked almost offended, "what makes you think I'd want to follow you? I was just out walking and saw your lopsided form." The small she-cat padded closer to him with a small smirk on her face. "You don't hide from prey very well like that, besides, there isn't much out here right now." Storm's face went morose, "I apologize for the assumption." He meowed simply, knowing he should not have overreacted like he did. "I know but I have kits-" The large male's eyes closed for a moment as he tried to reign in the swift current of emotions swirling inside, "Kit. I have a kit to feed" The raw pain Storm couldn't disguise, he wasn't ashamed of his grief. He was ashamed that he couldn't save her. His knowledge of healing was.. limited to what most rogues knew. Broken limbs would kill, and keep wounds clean or things could go sour really fast. Poison killed and when prey was poisoned– well. That was that. "The name is Storm, and you are?"

Mitzi turned her attention back to Storm when he began to spoke, a small flicker of pity flashing through her gaze. She stood, moving away from Rabbit, "I'm smaller than you, would you like my help?" She offered. Normally, the small she-cat wouldn't dare to offer and help another cat hunt, only because she knew how offensive it was. She felt as though this was a special case, and wanted to at least try and offer. "I can at least show you a better place to catch prey than this, for you," she suggested carefully. "My name is Mitzi, and that's Rabbit," she introduced herself and the strange tom that had shown up a short while ago out of no where.

Rabbit decided it would be best to not talk to Storm. Not only was he the leader of this journey, from what he heard- he was also about twice as big as Rabbit and seemed to be a much better fighter. He looked back at Giovanni's unblinking eyes in the shadows beyond him, finding he was once again surrounded by wolves.

Jackdaw & Annie || Construction Zone - -
Jackdaw nodded every now and then while listening to Annie's explanation. "Makes sense." He commented. It seemed reasonable enough. This place was already in rough enough shape so he could understand why others would want to leave. Upon hearing about the death of the kit's sister, the tom's head hung down slightly in respect. "My condolences for your loss..." he meowed, his normally emotionless tone actually had a hint of genuine sincerity to it. "I can understand your father's actions." Silence wavered in the air for a moment until he broke it. "Well you seem pretty healthy to me so the old guy shouldn't have to worry about a thing." he remarked, giving a wink in attempt to cheer up the she-kit. "Also, a little adventure sounds fun, eh? Never know, maybe even I—" The tom stopped himself there, realizing what he was going to say. What? No, you cannot just go and make such a decision right this moment! Jackdaw mentally scolded himself for making such a ridiculous idea. Leaving where one was practically raised and lived for their whole life was something you could not make a choice on instantly without though. Jackdaw quickly covered himself from his little mishap of speech by instead saying, "Y'never know, maybe you might have a lot of fun traveling around."
Annie looked up at the tom, tilting her head. "Why don't you come with us then? There are a ton of us going– it'll be fun, like you said. A new place to live, new things to look at.." A dreamy look overcame her face, "Dad sometimes leaves me with the Boat cats when he has to go talk to loners, so I get to hear a ton of stories. They've been every where, and they say up the coast you can find rocks the size of your paw that gleam like twoleg crystals in the water" Eyes rounded as she excitedly told a very abbreviated version of the tale, Annie did her best to keep things the way it was originally said. "Old Sam, he lives on the docks, in boat one, is too old to go traveling with us and he likes his twoleg so he's staying here. But he said his twoleg took him camping once, or whatever camping is. Anyway they were in this cabin and Old Sam got to explore around, it was by this huuuge lake, and there were mountains in the distance and there were pine trees everywhere! The rocks in the lake were so shiny and perfectly round, Old Sam thought they were a mir-age. I think that's how you say it, anyway. Old Sam said at night you can see the stars! Actually see 'em, not just glimpses of 'em through the smog like here. He said there were billions of 'em! And he also said he found a cave filled with shiny crystals, so many that it looked like the stars were just hiding in there until the sun goes down!" Waving ginger paws, the kitten was a very animated story teller.

[ For Blaze ] "I'm not one to fight either." Sirius shrugged, as if it were an unimportant factor. "They're dying. Most of the prey in the inner city, even around here in Knockturn Harbor, is poisoned in one way or another. Clean water to drink is getting scarcer and well, you can imagine the response of the rowdier cats." He shuddered, recalling the scene of massacre he'd discovered when searching for proper water to drink. By then the blood had contaminated the water so he had to keep moving. "There's a rogue, Storm. He lives up in the Shallows with some others. He's calling for a group to leave with him and his. I'm leaving and I'm asking around if anyone wants to join us." The black pelted male was eager in his explanation, spilling the details of what those who've actually traveled beyond the city have described. "There's a lake, supposedly. Somewhere past the mountains, with trees taller than the skyscrapers. We want to go there."

"Nice to meet you, Mitzi" Storm tilted his head in a proper greeting. His eyes slid to Rabbit, once more tilting his head. Something about that cat seemed familiar... "While that would be much appreciated, I wouldn't want to take up much of your time." Storm did not want to owe anyone, but he needed to find prey for Annie. She was a growing kit, and Trace was a hooligan but he was his hooligan. Suddenly he remembered where he'd see Rabbit. "Ah! You're going on the journey with us, aren't you?" Warmly said, a branch for camaraderie from Storm's end to the weak looking male. Turning to Mitzi, the large mountainous tom explained briefly. "I'm gathering a group together so we can escape this horrible place and find a better home. I've been talking to the cats who've actually left the city and they say that beyond the mountains are forests and lakes and a place where we'll have a better chance."

Mitzi tilted her head in response, a smile flitting across her face. "It doesn't bother me, I have nothing else going on." When he turned to rabbit she listened to storm greet him, curious about this journey. When storm explained to her she nodded slowly, "interesting... How about I go and fetch you some prey and you can tell me more about it?" She suggested, not giving him a chance to respond as she whipped around and began to sniff around.

"Yes, that's true," said Rabbit, trying not to stutter. Storm looked friendly, but he seemed to be an overprotective kind of cat- if Rabbit pushed any single wrong button, he could be dead in seconds. "I'm going with the accomplished and charitable Giovanni, whom I work for." Rabbit tried his best to not sound sardonic and sound genuinely honest, but given all the scuffles his master had gotten into, it was a bit hard. And if Storm knew Giovanni's true colors, it would also be a certain death for Rabbit.

Now Storm did not consider himself an impulsive cat, nor was he particularly violent. He didn't need to be, his size spoke for him. "Charitable, eh? That's not what I've heard but I will not contradict you" he chuckled lightly. He'd heard from Sirius how slimy the other tom was and although Storm tried his best not to listen to gossip, it did fall into his ears. He'd heard she-cats around the city complaining about a tom with the same name. Too many had the same story to make it coincidence. Storm would do nothing unless Giovanni threatened his operation and then– well. Giovanni may be a good fighter but he was no match for Storm's size and strength. Storm was a maine coon, twenty pounds of muscle and a striking power that was definitely nothing to scoff at. But Storm very rarely had to do much now a days, having made it successfully to adulthood with all his limbs intact– despite the scarring from defending himself as a youth. The tabby knew that for some cats, saying no to their generosity was not an option. So he simply accepted Mitzi's offer for prey and let her do her thing.

Rabbit decided not to argue. "You've heard of him before?" he asked. If Storm knew who Giovanni was, then his mission would be much harder. He looked back at Giovanni's faint outline far behind him, then looked back at Storm. "Well, if you've heard about him- what do other cats say of him?" Giovanni heard Storm's offhanded comment and suppressed a growl. The she-cats couldn't possibly remember him...or so he thought, anyways. Red had probably told this cat about him...or something, and Giovanni was determined to sabotage the gossip chain and keep his good name and good honor.

"I know he isn't exactly kind after being sweet on a she-cat. A leaver rather than a lover" Storm shrugged, "None of my business. You tell your master that as long as he doesn't disrupt the flow of our group, we will have no issues." He slid his hint that he knew who Rabbit was to Giovanni. Storm was not obtuse, he had observed the interactions in the Abandoned Twoleg nest the other day, how Giovanni referred to Rabbit and how Rabbit himself had been treated. It was barbaric but Storm did not have the time or patience to reroute years of mistreatment for mere strangers. "What I've heard I've heard around the city. He's made a lot of females quite angry and from what I've learned, females don't forget in a hurry."

"Well, Signore Storm, I don't think that's exactly true..." He bit his lip as he thought of what he would say. This cat seemed to read Giovanni's plans like a book- if this was what the leader thought, how would he and Giovanni get on the Journey?
Giovanni flattened his ears and got out of his hiding spot. Although Storm and Rabbit were far away from him (down three houses, to be exact), he walked towards them cheerily, acting as if he heard nothing at all.

Jackdaw & Annie || Construction Zone - -
Jackdaw's head tilted to one side slightly with curiosity, intrigued as he listened to Annie tell her story about what seemed to appear another world. "That does sound quite fascinating..." He meowed wistfully, leaving the kit to her own daydreams as he himself drifted to thoughts of his own. Normally he would be interested in things that would deem valuable as collection items; however, what surprisingly interested him was the mention of stars. Now Jackdaw wasn't really one to do stargazing—well one could not really stargaze in the city as for the mention of smog—but when the sky was slightly more visible and he could see some stars, they were something fascinating to look at. He couldn't possibly even imagine what a night sky would look without all the smog affecting the visibility. Asides from that, the idea of finding a better place to live did seem to be the better alternative. Sure, there was always the risk that there wouldn't be a suitable place to settle but honestly at this point it was better than sticking to this place. It only took after these thoughts that Jackdaw had realized he had made a decision. A soft smile peeked from his features, his mind seeming at ease with the coming decision. "To answer your question, I actually would like to join you folk. It's about time for me to get out of this place." He meowed, rising to his paws. Having decided his answer, he knew there was no turning back. Having made that decision, there was also the fact to consider that he would be joining a rather large group. For most of his life he had be surviving on his own without any real company. Sure he chat with some cats he met, but he hadn't really had the experience of being part of a group, relying on and trusting one another. The thought of it made him a bit uneasy. He quickly reassured to himself that he didn't have to force himself anything. It's not like he had committed himself to this group or anything, he could leave whenever he wanted. But that being said he would join them, it would make sense for him to at least head there now. He had nothing else really to do, so why not? "Would you mind taking me over to where your group is gathered?" Jackdaw asked. "We might as well head over there to let them know another member has decided to join along, don't you think?"

"Call me Storm, Rabbit." The male correct then snorted, a short bark of laughter. "I've spoken to the dozens of she-cats your master has left and I know who I'm dealing with." Well, not exactly, but at the core he knew who he was dealing with. A she-cat hater, one who needs to hurt their hearts because he suffered so at the paws of one. It was rather obvious, because otherwise Giovanni would have fallen to his own schemes by now. He did not know why but he knew what Giovanni was doing. Getting back at the group when it was an individual who caused the hurt. Storm himself did it when his sister Feather was murdered. He went after many-a rogue to punish the original sinner. In the end, he'd spared his sister's murderer, but left him so crippled that the male could barely fend for himself. It gave him no satisfaction.
Storm was perceptive like that, good at reading into actions. Particularly if the cat was making similar mistakes, as he had done in his youth. It was in no way a full proof exercise but it worked a decent amount of the time. He tries to gather information on all those who he will be traveling with. For instance, he knows Sirius was notoriously lazy and a bit of a flirt. Red is vicious and a confirmed murderer, but she seemed to be softening if her interactions with Sirius and now the former house cat Lady have anything to show for it. Lady is frighteningly naive and mostly useless, except for her healing knowledge. Rabbit was a weak male, a coward and easily bribed but his ultimate allegiance would always be with his master, and honestly Storm had no idea how or when this strange relationship came about. Susanna was an interesting cat, and hung around some house cat in Seashore Square. Lady had spoken with him about it not longer after she'd joined, but he had no time to break cats out of homes. If this Rosina was going to join, she'd have to get out sooner rather than later. Mitzi seemed like a nice cat, and he'd get to know her during their tea-a-tea today.

Annie let out a little chirp of excitement, running a circle around Jackdaw because words just didn't properly express how happy she was that this not-such-a-stranger decided to come along. "Come on, Uncle Jackdaw. They're all in the Abandoned Twoleg Nest." She didn't think twice about calling him uncle, as she'd taken to calling Sirius "Uncle Sirius" within moments of meeting him as well. "I think Auntie Lady and Auntie Red are there now. I dunno where Uncle Sirius is– he's always off doing something." She only paused, "Dad will head there first before he comes home, so it'll be okay if I take you there." Annie knew how to get there from home, and she knew that it was past the Construction Zone. So it shouldn't be too hard to get there from here, she reasoned to herself.

Rabbit's expression sank as he realized Storm wasn't changing opinions anytime soon...only for him to be pushed aside from Giovanni, who was walking up to Storm. "Ah, Storm! Leader of the Journey. I'm certain you have heard positive things about me, the accomplished and charitable Giovanni. I'm also certain you have gotten acquainted with my servant Rabbit here, how have you fared on this fine day?" Giovanni made note to use fancy upper-class words to make himself seem distinguished and cultured. But even though he was talking to Storm, he glanced at Mitzi more than he kept eye contact with him.

Storm simply raised an eyebrow, not at all impressed by the flowery words. "I'm doing well, thank you and yourself?" Friendly and almost as warm as he'd treated Rabbit earlier. "As for positive– from what I've heard around the city your are not exactly what I could honestly call charitable and the things I've heard are certainly not positive. But accomplished, well. That is a word one could use, considering how many she-cats you can cross off your list. That certainly is an accomplishment." It wasn't said meanly, just with... a certain distaste. Like he wasn't fond of it. Storm understood Giovanni but he did not respect him due to his treatment of females. However, he did know of his fighting abilities, that was made clear. "I do hear that you're good with your claws so that could be considered another accomplishment. So I suppose accomplished might be a word you can describe yourself as." He shrugged nonchalantly. "I hear you're joining us on the journey, is that correct?"

Giovanni's face turned into an annoyed, twisted expression as Storm dissected his words. "It sorta is true-" mumbled Rabbit. Giovanni lifted his paw and reached for Rabbit's neck. "I mean, he does have a habit of flirtingHAAAAACK HAAACK LET ME GO LET ME GO-" Giovanni held no emotion on his face as he choked Rabbit. Rabbit's deep voice only grew hoarser and weaker, and his face only became more desperate- if Giovanni didn't let go soon, he would surely choke to death."IpromisepromisePROMISEIwon'tsayanythingIWASJUSTJOKINGit'snottruenottruenottrue..." Just as it seemed Rabbit was about to die, Giovanni let go, and Rabbit fell to the floor, gasping for air. "Now that he knows better- yes, I am joining you on the journey. My servant is having trouble finding food for the two of us, and obviously I'm not very happy about it. Since other cats have told me prey is dwindling, I have decided to go on the Journey instead of killing Rabbit."

[ Keep it realistic, Red. Cat's don't have thumbs so they can't choke with one paw. The clawing I can get behind, even heavily swatting with one paw to the back of a cat's head, but remember to keep it realistic okay? ]
"Do you not hunt for yourself?" Storm tilted his head, peering down at the two toms, eyeing Rabbit with some concern as the tom struggled to breathe. He did not step in when Giovanni started choking his servant, too confused about why it was necessary and Storm didn't want to start a fight right then and there. He had to get home to Annie eventually, and he needed to talk with Mitzi. Storm didn't want to do either of those things covered in the blood of other cats. "If you both intend on journeying with us, you must keep to this one rule- do not cause problems with other cats. For you, Giovanni, I know your reputation. If you join us, you cannot play with anyone's feelings. I will not allow it." Storm straightened up, shoulders squaring and jaw locking into a deep set frown as he stared down at the cats.

(Alright then, I intended that Giovanni would only lift one paw but lift the other just after)
"Sometimes," said Giovanni, "but not often. Servants are helpful that way." After Storm told him he couldn't cause trouble on the journey, Giovanni exchanged glances with Rabbit, who was still wheezing from almost choking to death. Then they both turned to Storm at the same time. "Fine, then, it's a deal." Giovanni made his voice sound authentic, but beneath it he didn't care- he didn't consider his ways trouble, they were just a way of life for him. "Strange, though," he meowed. "It doesn't seem like any of the other traveling cats have a servant."

{alright. I'll start then if that's alright.}
Cosmo took his last bite of caviar before sauntering out of his cat door. His Twolegs let him come and go as he pleases, since Cosmo always came back. The Siamese broke into a leisurely run, heading towards the place he and Susanna had agreed to meet. Cosmo assumed he was a bit early, so he slowed his pace, now jogging. The surroundings started to become familiar, and he knew he went the right way. The tom found the meeting place, and sat with his tail curled around his paws.
