Wildclove
A sharp pain snaps Wildclove awake He leaps out of his bed, fur smoking as he pats his tail out- fire? Its then he smells it, the acid smoke billowing though the camp, so fast! He’d only just laid his head down to dooze! Wildclove bursts out of the warrior's den, ducking as flaming vines rain down on his head. He can barely see through the smoke, panic surging in his veins. “Dogstripe!” he yells for his former apprentice, seeing her pale coat through the smoke. He runs up to her, giving her ash covered ears a quick lick, He can't see anyone else- cant make sure they get out alive- but he can do this
Wildclove hears Hatchhusks yowl, shoving Dogstripe towards it, the poor young warrior too shocked to move “Cmon! No use just standin here!” He nips her neck, just to get her going “Larchspeck!” She yowls suddenly “I can't leave them!” She's frantic, Wildclove can feel her panic “I can't lose-” Dogstripe winces as a large plank of wood falls near her- that seems to snap her out of it, she was always smart “I can’t- we cant stay here” Wildclove grimaces at her, though he means it to be a smile “No, Sugar” Chest aching as he turns away from the camp, racing towards the exit with Dogstripe hot on his tail.
They make it to where their clanmates seem to be gathering, Dogstripe immediately running off to find her brother. Wildclove heaves, taking in who he doesn't see- heart spiking- He whips his head back towards the camp “Pumpk’n!” He rises a little before collapsing into a coughing fit “No…” he squeezes out
The losses are hard, as Wildclove sits vigil next to Dogstripe, pressing their fur together. Her father figures he knows, Hatchhusk. The pale molly is numbly looking at his burnt fur, before tucking her legs under her as she lays beside him. He chokes back a sob as he nuzzles his nose to Pumpkinswipes fur, ignoring the shinged scent.
“Hunt safe” he murmurs “Starclans lucky to have you” ------ Border Patrol Clanlife doesn't stop for grief, Wildclove thinks as he pads beside their new clan-member. Now more than ever it's critical to have good knowledge of the land. So he and Weedgorse are showing them around
“That's the farm” he mews, throat still slightly scratchy from the smoke- nothing major “There's cats ‘n the barn, and dogs ‘n the yard- but just be aware-” He's cut off from his speech by a loud bark- the farm dog! Barrelling towards them! He gestures to the patrol to back up, leaping back over the fence

Bumblecrest ~Healer~ TW: there is some graphic stuff about the dead cats like blisters ETC) The memories flashed before his eyes again, the cats screeching, fire crackling through the camp. He couldn't breathe, the smoke filled his eyes. He saw; the cats, his own mother, and two of his sisters dead! The fire consumed their pelts. He could see the blisters on their melted skin, the painful expressions of fear still printed onto their faces. No amount of mint or lavender could fix the smell of their singed fur! He quickly straightened his neck as a branch grazed his head. The patrol was quiet as they escorted Finchheart back to camp. He felt useless, Fallowtail had been back for only a few days and was so busy he barely got to spend any time with her! He had sat by Leaopardcry's side the whole night, he wept and grieved till his eyes were swollen and red. "Why did you have to go?!" He had whispered in her ear. Fallowtail ~S-starclan?!~ The last thing she remembered was the heat of the flames, now... It was cool and she could sense the pelts around her. She slowly opened her eyes looking around at stars scattered at her paws. She recognized the scent of her clan; her mother and sister were here?! They should be down on earth with the others, she had barely connected with her clan and she had already died! The thoughts came back "GUYS?! Where are you?!" She wheezed into the burning flames, she thought she saw a pelt "W-Where are you?! Don't leave me! PLEASE!" She yowled into the cold air, smoke had filled her lungs she felt herself collapse, sparks burnt her pelt. "P-Please...?" She whispered quietly "You shouldn't feel bad..." She has told Forestfreckle, as the two met face to face since what seemed like years. She had breathed in the soft sent of her mother and siblings. She could tell her mentor had felt guilty by the way she looked at Fallowtail. She stared down on the clans her siblings didn't have her anymore, she remembered a long time ago Lilacshade made her a promise... "All the warriors will protect you, and we won't let ANYTHING happen to you!" She felt a bit of resentment at Lilacshade for that, but it wasn't her fault. Foggydusk ~Starclan?!~ "Wow! So... This is Starclan?!" She ran around, something was different. She was... YOUNGER?! Her paws felt lighter and she felt more alive! Yeah she was sad she had died but, I mean she was still with hr clan! This was where she belonged! There was Leapordcry and Hatchhusk, Fallowtail, and Duskfeather, Auburncreek, Pumpkinswipe and Willowmouse! Plenty of close cats were here, she hadn't had time to meet Fallowtail much but she could get close to the grieving she-cat she was sure.

Duststep Storkleg's murder | Fire in the camp | Regrets her fight with Leopardcry
It was a horrible sight. Such a horrible sight, but Duststep couldn't take her eyes off it. Tears welling, heart thumping, the bustle of cats in the rest of the camp behind her, but she couldn't make herself move. Standing over Storkleg's limp form, Duststep didn't know what to do. She'd thought the white molly was just asleep at first in the dark, secluded corner of the camp. But then she'd tried to wake her up and she just- she didn't respond. She didn't breathe. She didn't move, until Duststep put a little more effort into rolling her over and was met with the glassy stare of death. A stare she knew all too well, unfortunately. Well enough to recognize that, even though her white pelt seemed relatively clean upon first glance and her pose wasn't too uncanny other than that one crooked leg, this had to be murder. Storkleg wasn't the type to slink off into a quiet corner to die while the camp still bustled around her. Murder. She turned the word over and over in her mind like a smooth river stone in her paws. It had to be murder- and if it was murder, there had to be a killer. They were probably in the camp right now. She could feel cats starting to gather behind her, gasps and hushed whispers she was too dazed to hear ringing in her ears. It could be any one of them. Oh, Starclan, what if they kill me next? What if they mow down Plumclan and there's nothing I can do?
No. There has to be something you can do. Move your paws. Move. Shaking her head in jerky motion as she snapped out of her stupor, she moved to peer around Storkleg's lifeless body for traces of the culprit. Tufts of fur caught in her claws, a cause of death, maybe even a name about to form on her lips in her last moments; there had to be something. Dead focused on her task, Duststep didn't look up when she heard shouts across the camp. She didn't look up when they became screaming, became cries of pain, became yowls of "fire!". What could be more important than solving a clanmate's murder? It was only when she felt a sharp yank on her tail that she whipped around by instinct to see the camp already half ablaze. Tall bright flames danced around the camp she had called home her whole life. Their soft flickering would have almost been serene if it weren't for the soundtrack of shouts and thumping paws accompanying them. Again, she felt stuck in place for a moment, trapped in the haze of thick, suffocating smoke and oppressive heat, until a hard shove to her side brought her back to reality. Scrambling to her feet, she raced by instinct out of the camp. Bounding towards the entrance, she chanced one more glance behind her; and there was Leopardcry, the fire already surrounding her near the back of the camp far from the exit. She almost stumbled over her own paws at the sight, but managed to keep running, and running, until she reached the group of cats huddled a safe distance from the camp and finally collapsed. Sprawled on the dirty ground, she turned to watch the flames engulf the camp. Again, she was transfixed by the glimmering lights set against the backdrop of the darkening sky as the sun set on the orchard; and, indeed, on many of the cats in it. She saw several of her clanmates sitting watching the fire beside her, thank Starclan, but a few of them were missing. They must still be inside. The spot where she had last seen Leopardcry was now completely enveloped in flames, and she realized with a pang of guilt that the last time they'd spoke, the very last time she'd ever speak with her mentor again until she ascended to Starclan to join her, was their fight yesterday. That stupid, petty fight; she didn't even remember what had started it. Something minor, about Leopardcry taking her favourite piece of prey or something that seemed so insignificant now, that had practically escalated into a screaming match before both cats stormed away, fuming. She'd unloaded all her pent-up anger with Leopardcry right there in the middle of the camp, in front of the watching cats; all the parts of her apprenticeship she'd hated, Leopardcry's prickly personality that made her so hard to be around, what exactly she thought of all her serial relationships, and how the orange molly always thought she was better than everyone. The flames coalesced into one softly glowing mass as tears filled Duststep's eyes, rendering her vision blurry.
That's right.
I... had wanted to apologize to her.
I didn't see her anywhere in camp, and I was looking for her, and I saw Storkleg in the corner and tried to wake her up, and I looked back and she was... Words failed her. Duststep's articulate thoughts trailed off into a string of raw emotion, encapsulated in the tears running freely down her snout. Reflecting the old camp's now golden glow, they ran past her jaw hanging ajar to land in the dirt at her feet. Thick clouds of smoke the colour of Duststep's pelt billowed up above the collapsing building; it was hard to see the dusky night sky between its eddies, but Duststep still forced herself to pry her eyes off her lifelong home going up in flames to try to count the newly twinkling stars there, gleaming between the wisps like glowing eyes watching her from the dark.

Also if anyone wants to have their characters be the one who gets her out of the fire go ahead :) Border patrol with Daisytuft and Golddusk | Eavesdrops on Daisytuft
Duststep kept a considerable distance from her patrolmates as they walked next to eachother. Staring off into the distance, she pretended she were just distracted, her mind elsewhere like it had often been since the fire, but really she was listening intently to their conversation. She had been acting neurotic, she knew; she could tell from her clanmates' sidelong glances at her wild eyes and ungroomed pelt. But it was all merited when any of these cats could be a cold-blooded murderer. The fire had been a great tragedy, but she felt like she was going crazy with how she was the only one who still seemed to care about the murder just prior. Stealing shrewd glances at the two, she was waiting for Daisytuft to say that she knew something, anything, about who did it. Who killed Storkleg, who started the fire to presumably hide the evidence. Whether they were even the same cat. But so far listening in on their conversation had amounted to very little. The other two cats stopped in their tracks, and Duststep was forced to catch up. She had to agree with Daisytuft's remark on the pungent badger scent surrounding the barn; now that the other molly had called it out, it was impossible to ignore and caused her to wrinkle her nose in disgust. Ugh, I thought we drove that one out. It must be a different one. But getting the last one out of the territory is so much work... and we can't afford to risk losing any more cats after what happened with the fire... "We can't drive it out on our own. We need to get the twolegs to do it," she spoke aloud suddenly. "We just need to dig a bunch of holes around here. It'll be a lot easier." Looking between the other two cats, she waited for their response, and frowned, her ears drooping, when it seemed she was met with more confusion than expected. "Well, what, do you want to fight it? The twolegs hate badgers. If it doesn't do anything they might not care, but if they think it destroyed the area they'll get rid of it for us."
Tansypaw Fire in the camp
An acrid smell and the sound of shouting outside the apprentices' den ripped Tansypaw from his nap. Groggily, he rose to his paws; he had been in the middle of a great dream about his surely imminent warrior ceremony. He exited the den expecting some petty squabbles over rotten prey or something of the like, but what he found was anything but.
Fire. He'd never seen it before, at least not like this, but the panicked screams of cats around him immediately kicked a rush of adrenaline into him. Bright orange flames crawled their way across the rafters like maggots on crowfood, ravaging the camp with hisses and pops of sparky flame. The once mossy stone walls gleamed dully in the fire's light, cleansed of their green coating. What little wasn't swallowed by the flames was hard to make out against the choking smoke, but the sprinting figures he could make out were all headed in one direction: the camp's exit. He was about to follow them before he heard a loud snap from the roof behind him; he whirled around just in time to see two red bengal pelts crushed beneath the burning chunk of roof that came down on them, barely visible behind the wall of flame.
He could hear, over the screams and crackling flame, his blood pumping in his pinned-back ears as he raced towards them without thinking. It was stupid to run into the flames, he knew, but he'd rather die a warrior's death than live a coward. A piece of the wooden roof hadn't been swallowed by the flames yet; he placed both his front paws on it and pushed with all his might, vaguely aware of Cloverfur next to him, until it tumbled to the side, revealing the two cats under it.
Auburncreek lay limp before him. He had never seen a dead body before; was this what it was supposed to look like? Was she even dead yet? For a moment, he could have sworn he saw her standing upright there. No, not quite her; her pelt was perfectly groomed and glimmering like stars, and she hadn't seemed to notice him as she stood staring down at her own body. But then he blinked; and again she was sprawled on the floor, pelt ragged with patches alight. The dancing lights of the fire made it hard to tell whether she was breathing or not, but... she was still on fire in places. He didn't know if he would be able to drag her out on his own. I can't chance it, he thought, blinking back tears he turned towards her mother lying next to her. Fawnstar had suffered the same predicament, but other than her charred patches of fur seemed to suffer no injury, at least none fatal in nature. She didn't seem to have the same air of mortal serenity, either. Of course. She's the leader, Starclan saved her. Looking up at Cloverfur, he nodded before grabbing Fawnstar by the scruff and, with the grey warrior's help, hurriedly dragging her out of the camp until they were far enough away.
They were safe now, here, out of the fire's reach. Tansypaw felt dizzy as he hacked out the remains of smoke in his throat, scanning frantically over the crowd to make sure that his family were alright. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Hatchhusk leap back into the camp, and with a twinge of panic realized there were still cats trapped inside. Darting after the medicine cat, he was relieved to see many of the cats that remained fighting their way through the haze inside towards the exit, some injured but thankfully alive. He could barely make out Marshfur's grey fur through the smoke, but when he recognized stumbling forward he could immediately tell she was injured. He rushed to her side, providing support for her to lean on him as he hurried them both towards the exit. His heart sunk as he registered that, through the roaring flames and the sobbing of cats outside, he could still Hatchhusk's haunting, desperate cries for Leopardcry behind him.
He and Marshfur had barely made it a safe distance away from the camp when he heard the sharp crunch of the rest of the roof coming down behind him; Tansypaw didn't need to glance over his shoulder to know it probably spelled the end for any cats that remained inside. Carefully, he left Marshfur's side and managed to stumble only a few steps into the crowd before his exhaustion forced him to sit. Now that the adrenaline had worn off, he felt the full effects of the acrid smoke clawing at the inside of his throat and of the heat, and realized that the tip of his tail had gotten singed. He tried to swallow the lump in his throat thinking about Hatchhusk's bravery and sacrifice for the cat he loved, resolving to ask Fawnstar later, once the situation had died down, if his warrior name could be chosen in the medicine cat's honour. If I knew someone I loved was in there... I only hope I would have showed the same dedication.

Cloverfur Fire || with Bristlefur, Tansypaw, Fawnstar Snuggling into the warmth of his nest, Cloverfur wished he could sleep. But something was nagging at him, a gut feeling that maybe he wasn't safe. His fighting instinct. It usually kicked in when he was in danger, a helpful tool for when he needed to dodge a blow or sink his claws into the side of an enemy warrior. But he was safe, tucked into his nest with his clan at his sides. His family were all sleeping close together, the closer of the littermates spilling into each others nests. Most cats were still awake, it hadn't been long since the sun had left the sky, and even more were milling around camp, finishing up things before they retired for the day.
But a scent caused Cloverfur's eyes to pop open, for his pelt to rise in fear. The scent of smoke wasn't uncommon, especially this time of year when the twolegs were around. Sometimes they set up tents and lit fires (non of which spread, thankfully), and sometimes they used smoking things for gardening, planting different plants into the ground for them to grow. Usually nothing the clan cats could use or get to, unfortunately.
But this time was different. It smelled closer, more present. When the cry of "Fire!" Broke the otherwise silence of camp, Cloverfur spurred to action. He prodded the cats remaining in the warriors den to get up, rounding on his kits in the corner. "All of you, get out!" Blazetumble's eyes had widened, and Cloverfur could smell the distinct scent of fear rolling off of him. Or maybe it's all of them. Or me. But the tom shook himself and turned to his littermates, helping one another guide each other out. Nodding his head, Cloverfur turned and dashed out of the den.
The camp was chaos. Fire had spread quickly, engulfing the wooden walls of the abandoned twoleg den faster than it would normally if it hadn't been so hot. The last moon had been nothing put hot, hot, hot, and it hadn't rained in ages. That's probably how it caught on so fast. We need to get out of here!
Supressing his own feelings of panic, Cloverfur turned to see some cats fleeing the scene. His pelt twtiched with annoyance as Rindlestripe took off, leaving camp. Cloverfur knew that it was the safe choice, the right choice, but he needed to make sure every cat he cared for was out safe. Leopardcry will be fine, she has Hatchhusk to take care of her. My kits have each other, they will be fine. The apprentices!
Running to the apprentice den, Cloverfur found it deserted, and he huffed with relief. He needed to get out soon, or he wouldn't have a chance to leave later.
A sharp yowl cut through the air, right where he had left his kits. Running over to where he had last seen them, Cloverfur realized that a small group remained. Blazetumble, Pineconenibble, Pheasantdrift, and Bumblecrest had gone, hopefully to safety. But Pumpkinswipe, Fallowtail, Bristlefur, and Marshfur remained, a plank having fallen. Cloverfur smiled at them, then realized that Marshfur and Bristlefur had been hurt, the flames jumping onto their pelts when the plank had fallen. "I'll help these two out, you guys okay?" He mewed above the flames.
Leaping over the plank, Cloverfur put himself in between Bristlefur and Marshfur, letting them support him on their sides. It wasn't as fast as he would have liked, but they made it out. Bristlefur was panting, and Marshfur let him know she could handle walking on her own.
Hatchhusk. Willowmouse. Duskfeather. Leopardcry. Auburncreek. Foggydusk. Fawnstar. Fallowtail. Pumpkinswipe. Where were they? He let out another huff, eyeing the flames again. He was fit enough to go back in. His lungs were clear, and the worst that had happened to him was a bit scorched fur here and there. It wasn't even a decision really. He had to go back in there.
Running, he made it to the flames in record time. He didn't see his kits anywhere. Not a trace. When he did see was another cat collapse, near what had been the medicine den. Who..? Maybe it was Pumpkinswipe, trying to get her former mentor out of the medicine den. But it wasn't Pumpkinswipe. It was Fawnstar. Auburncreek's burned pelt rested a few pawsteps away. Dead. He hadn't liked the young molly much, but it hurt to see the death of a clanmate so young. Fawnstar. She had lost a life, but she had more. They needed to get her out, before she lost all of them.
Tansypaw was here has well, the apprentice trying to bring Fawnstar out by himself. "Let's go." the apprentice nodded, and they dragged their leader back to the gathering of Plumclan cats that had been kicked out of their home. Marshfyr hadn't quite made it back yet, and Tasnypaw left him to help her. He laid Fawnstar down near where the healers had set up an impromptu set of nests, where Bristlefur was also laying. It looked as though some cat had managed to find cobwebs at least. Pumpkinswipe and Fallowtail still haven't returned. Neither had Leopardcry. And as the clan watched their camp burn, it became clear that they wouldn't return from the flames. Ever. [[ I'll write Clover's grieving post tomorrow and then maybe also get to Blaze's? We'll see Also lmk if you want me to change anything about what clover does in the fire! totally able to go back in and re-write it if that isn't what you say your claim doing!]]

Auburncreek - Fire - death?!? - Is glad to see Havenspots {--} with Forestfreckle, Fawnstar, Havenspots and Apprentices(mention) “Fire!” The words awoken her out of her nest in the medicine den, shocking her as if a lightning bolt had hit the molly herself. Instantly, she threw herself up, her breathing ragged. Forestfreckle was first to enter, and Auburncreek looked at her with relief. “Take Larchspeck with you, Hatchhusk can help.” She looked at the two cats, and rolled her eyes at Forestfreckle’s nervous face. “Come on, you mouse-brain! You really think fire is gonna get me?” She nudged her sister in a teasing way. “Now go!” She quickly got up, shaking out the scraps of moss from her fur. Instantly, she took off for the apprentices den. Tansypaw was gone, but she made her way under the entrance, currently burning. It snapped, but she held it up with her back. “Come on!” She looked at Orangepaw, Shimmerpaw and Weedgorse. “Meet the cats at the entrance.” She meowed to them. Even though the burning wood was removing the fur from her body in a sudden burst of pain, she wasn’t going to stop. After the apprentices followed her, she made sure to keep them together as they reached the entrance. She found Forestfreckle there, but many cats were still missing. She quickly pressed her head to her sisters, glad she was safe. “I have to go back in.” She looked at Forestfreckle, her surprise obvious. “There is still cats inside.” She let out another cough, the whitecough coming back. She looked at the cats, purring to Forestfreckle. “You take care of the apprentices, we’ll be fine!” She rubbed her nose to her sister, before turning to the blazing camp. “I’ll meet you back here, I promise.” She gave a final nod, then ran as fast as she could. Her paws thrummed hard against the ground, the shock waves coursing through the rest of her auburn body. Her whitecough only seemed to tighten around her lungs, as the smoke continued to enter her jaws. Her eyes laid on Feathersong, the older queen suffering a hard injury. She made sure to accompany her to her paws, before telling her to go to the entrance.Seeing Feathersong run away, Auburncreek looked for anyone else that needed help. Little did she know, the cat that needed help was no other than herself. A sudden rasp of smoke entered her lungs again, but this time the whitecough fought harder than herself. She dropped to the ground, coughing suddenly. “H-Help…” She promised to Forestfreckle she would be fine. She hasnt even said goodbye to Fawnstar yet. How could she go like this? She wanted to help her clan. With another desperate mew, her paws drooped. She looked up slowly, her eyes blurry with smoke, tears streaming her auburn face. “M-Mother?..” she mewed quietly, Fawnstar’s reasssuring mew made her purr, this time ragged and broken. Feeling Fawnstar’s gentle fur against hers, she knew this was it. With a last breath, she slowly closed her eyes, the blackness silently welcoming her.- - -She climbed to her paws, feeling much like her former self. This time, she felt like she weighed nothing, the ground below her the burnt ground of the camp, underneath her was her mother and her dead self. With a sudden gasp, she realised her mother was dying. “Fawnstar—Mother!” She tried to help her, but her paws just seemed to go through the pelt of the Plumclan leader. She felt a sudden presence join her, a recognisable copper speckled tom. “Havenspots!” She cried of joy, joining her brother. She rested her head against his, enjoying his company. He was just like he used to be. The same happy Havenspots, like nothing happened. “Im gone, aren’t I?” She sighed. “Yes, but you must first help your mother.” Another cat joined them, it was the voice of Oakpelt. Their grandfather. She dipped her head in respect, she had never met the old tom. But before she could say much else, he was gone, and she turned around to see Fawnstar in front of them. She stood beside Havenspots, her copper gaze falling onto her mother. “Auburncreek…” … “I’m sorry..” Auburncreek just purred, stepping forward to touch noses one last time with her mother. “It’s okay.” She mewed softly. “I have Havenspots, and Oakpelt. You must stay for Forestfreckle. She needs you.” She blinked at her mother with only love in her eyes, as if she was asking for forgiveness for all the grief and anger she had caused her in her lifetime.“I’m sorry for being such a fox-heart all those moons. I truly do love you, mother.”
[[ I’m literally crying rn - only the best post for my favourite and oldest character from Plum and Yew I will miss my lil fierce girl so much.]]

Bristlefur had thought they'd smelled smoke, but eh. They had promised Orangepaw that they would help them sneak out of camp,to help get both their minds off some recent arguments. Now where was that apprentice? And that was when Bristlefur noticed the flames. No no NO. This couldn't be happening! The pale orange cat ran towards the apprentice's den. Better to make sure the youngsters make it out alright. "Come on! Get out of here while you can! Camp's on fire!" "I'm serious. Run!"
Next thing they knew, they heard a crack, and something fell on them, and they realized Pumpkinswipe and Fallowtail were under this plank too. Dang it.
They didn't dare try to scream. No matter how much they wanted to.
Hopefully someone would get them out.
((OOC: Dang, that happened. I need to work on my writing, as you could tell.. Maybe, once Bristlefur's better, they'll help the medicine cats with herbs?))

Cloverfur Greiving + Fleas || with names The fire was devastating. Plumclan camp would take a while to repair, and they were vulnerable to the other clans at the position they were at the moment. They had made camp at the wall, right near the border with Flowerclan. It made him worry, but Flowerclan didn't seem to be planning an attack. In fact, one of their healers, Finchheart had joined them for a temporary amount of time. But it wasn't the camp he was grieving, not the nest he had once resided in.
Pumpkinswipe was dead. Fallowtail was dead. Leopardcry was dead. Two of his kits and their mother. He had known, when the building collapsed that they couldn't have possibly survived. But it became real when a few warriors went into the fire to fetch the bodies. Nine bodies lay in the clearing, their pelts burred and scarred. Eight cats had died in the fire. Reports had said that Storkleg had been murdered. Murdered?
It did seem to be so. There were clawmarks among the scarred body of Storkleg. She had been brought in before Pumpkinswipe. The sight of his daughters burned and mangled body was too much to bear. The grey warrior let out a wail, rushing to her side. I could have saved her! I could have saved her life! If only I had made a different decision, maybe she would still be here. Her smoky grey fur was charred and matted, blackened due to the flames and smoke. Fallowtail was laid beside her, the two sisters together. And she had just found her way back home. Why had Starclan been so cruel?
Crouching down by his daughters sides, Cloverfur closed his eyes. But even then he couldn't miss the strong smell of death and smoke, could feel Pumpkinswipe's matted fur. They had been the first of Cloverfur's close ones to die. The first of his kit's siblings to go. And Marshfur and Brisltefur were in the makeshift medicine den with injuries due to the fire. Two dead, two injured. Their mother gone.
He began to lick at Pumpkinswipe's pelt, trying to smooth it out. He owed to it her to make her look alive, even if she wasn't. It should have been me! I should have saved her. Even if I had died, she might still be here. Starclan! Please! He groomed her into the night, cats coming and going as the pleased, greif settling over the entire clan. Every cat felt it, in their hearts. It was the way of the clan, but it didn't make it any easier.
As dawn broke he was guided away from their bodies, tears running down his fluffy face. It was now he noticed how ichy his pelt had gotten, probably from the fleas that had infested the camp last moon. Somehow they had survived the fire. Leopaedcry, please take care of our kits for me, and them. Please give me a sign that you're all save. Please.
It wasn't much you saw Cloverfur out of commision. There was that one time he had sprained his paw a few moons ago, but that hadn't been major. And before that... well he had been careful. He hadn't gotten sick or injured. But this was different. Why would he go on, why should he go on, when Pumpkinswipe couldn't? He hadn't done anything to save her. He didn't deserve to patrol, or enjoy the day. I deserve to think. Think of every moment I had with them. Think of everything I wouldn't ever change. Mentions Marshfur and Bristlefur || boragesky (Pumpkinswipe) cuz I talked about her so much :( [[ school wifi blocks imgur :/ will change when I get the chance! ]]

Leopardcry - Seeks out Willowmouse - is killed in the fire, curled around Hatchhusk - Wails for her kits {--} with Willowmouse, Hatchhusk Leopardcry jumped into action, it violently tossing her out of her short nap. She felt the rush of her clanmates, all of them running to the entrance. She wanted to follow them, she truly did, but there were other cats in this clan too. She couldn’t leave them to die. Especially one of their oldest, Willowmouse. She hadn’t seen the mediator leave yet, so she decided to seek them out. The flames danced around her, almost taunting her. The sparks caught on her long fur, making her wince. She stopped in her tracks. Devasted by what she saw. Lay before her, the cat she was looking for, Willowmouse. The once elegant and graceful molly, now destroyed by the fire that had cursed their very home. She coughed again, this time hearing another yowl.
“Pumpkinswipe!” She yowled back, hearing the deafining squeals of pain from her daughter. A flaming branch had scratched her paw, and she seemed to limp. It wasn’t until she heard another of her kits squeals, that she had no strength left. “Fallowtail!” Her other daughter had only just returned. She couldn’t be gone so soon. She needed to find her dearest kits. What if they were just like Willowmouse? Destroyed and ruined. “My kits!” She cried, her voice cracking with the smoke in her throat. She blinked slowly, the dust getting in her eyes. She dropped to the fiery ground, the flames only seeming to circle around her. “My kits! Please oh Starclan please! Let me find my beautiful kits!” She sobbed, wailing for anyone, any cat to help her.
It was when she had gave up, silently sobbing to herself, when she finally felt the presence of another cat. Her eyes were blurry, but the scent of her mate managed to break through the large wall of smoke in her face. Feeling the gentle strokes of his tongue, and the dust out of her eyes, she stared at him. She tried to speak, to say anything to her love, but it just cracked. She let out another rasping cough, she felt him curl around her. This was it. She was going to die. Atleast now, she has Hatchhusk next to her. She rested her heavy head on his burning fur, before letting out a weak cough. “My kits…”
She blacked out. She then awoke in Starclan, standing beside Hatchhusk. She sighed to him, Atleast they could now be together forever. She stared beside her, her kits coming to her. “Pumpkinswipe! Fallowtail!” She mewed of joy, before looking at them with grief when it hit her. They were in the stars, and her kits had joined her. “You were both so young,” She mewed with only grief in her voice, before staring back at the grounds below, her clanmates gathering around the dead warriors for a vigil. She hoped they could hear her up in the stars, if she could send a message to her grief-sicken clanmates. “We’re safe now, all of us. In Starclan’s paws.” [[ so sad ]]

PUMPKINSWIPE [ Timeless ] " She keeps on growing... slipping through my fingers all the time... " (Slipping Through My Fingers by ABBA)
"Fire!"
Pumpkinswipe screeched when she saw the camp ablaze. No time to waste getting out.
...
Maybe...
Pumpkinswipe stood up with Jamilah's help, and she began to escort her out of the den. Suddenly, Pumpkinswipe tripped into a flame pit. Her fur became more scorched than it looked, and her tail was ablaze. The she-cat screamed as she raced in circles, trying to get it to stop blazing.
When Pumpkinswipe turned to see Pheasantdrift and Willowmouse, her heart ached at the fact she couldn't save herself, and when Pheasantdrift announced Willowmouse dead, she had to go for it.
***
Pumpkinswipe rose with the many cats that died. She looked up, and saw Duskfeather, and followed after him.
Pumpkinswipe turned around and saw Fallowtail, and ran up and brushed against her. "Fallowtail!" she cried. "I-..." she pasued, sighing. "I'm sorry I had to reunite with you like this." she muttered as she started crying, but not over Fallowtail.
When asked, Pumpkinswipe's tears rushed more. "It's... Pheasantdrift. I never got to live a life with her. I never got to grow old with her. Never decided to adopt kits... and never even got together."
All the attention was at her as she looked up. "I have to move on though... but... I don't think I will..." she muttered as she brushed against Leopardcry.

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Welcomes Fallowtail back to the clan Forestfreckle smiled as she padded softly into camp, for once feeling happy and light. The past few days had been good ones. Larchspeck's infection was abating and Fallowpaw had found her way back to the clan. Forestfreckle had been overjoyed when she had heard the news, running to greet her apprentice after another cat had mentioned Fallowpaw's return while Forestfreckle had been out on patrol. At first, it was a rush of emotions, and Forestfreckle hadn't known what to feel. Upon first seeing her young student, Forestfreckle had felt relief. Her apprentice had made it on her own without her. However, the relief had quickly morphed into guilt. Why had Fallowpaw needed to find her way back on her own? Why hadn't Forestfreckle been able to find her first? It was a mentor's job to look after their apprentice, and instead, Forestfreckle had been spending most of her time teaching Larchspeck. Forestfreckle eyes had glistened, her gaze sad. Why hadn't she been there for Fallowpaw?
"I'm so sorry I couldn't find you... I looked for you every chance I got. I promise. I never gave up. I'm so sorry."
"You shouldn't feel bad..." Fallowpaw had comforted Forestfreckle, and the older tortoiseshell she cat had laughed happily in response, tears welling in her eyes. Fallowpaw had made it out there alone with the training Forestfreckle had given her. It had been enough. The last feeling Forestfreckle had felt before bursting into tears was pride. If there was any cat more deserving of a warrior name it was Fallowpaw, and with a bit of persuasion, that is exactly what the young ginger and gray she-cat was given. Forestfreckle had cheered Fallowtail! louder than any other cat in the clan, and Forestfreckle was still relishing the moment today.
However, the day's mood quickly changed as Forestfreckle heard Hatchhusk's loud yell. Her head snapped up in response, her ears flying back and her eyes growing white. There was a fire in camp. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: This is a work in progress, but I'm also at a good place to stop. Golddusk- Fire! Golddusk woke up in his nest, smelling smoke coming in from outside the den. Wait…smoke…? Golddusk thought in confusion before hearing the sounds of yowls and cats screaming about a fire. He hurried out of the warrior’s den just in time to see the camp ablaze. Panic and horror flooded through him at the sight of the fire spreading rapidly through the camp like a starving beast ready to devour the camp whole. He looked around rapidly, looking for the rest of the clan. Where are my clanmates?! He spotted a couple of his clanmates fleeing toward the camp entrance. He followed them, leaving the Plumclan camp behind as the last of it became engulfed by the raging inferno. ——— Golddusk- Patrol with Duststep and Daisytuft Golddusk walked next to Daisytuft with Duststep walking ahead of them. It had been some time since the fire with the weather still just as hot as it was the day of the fire. Golddusk was talking with Daisytuft, mostly small little things like what they were hoping to find on the patrol and such. This was fine with Golddusk. Anything at least to avoid thinking about the fire and the terrible tragedy that came with it, at least if only for a short while. Golddusk stole a quick glance at Duststep. Ever since the fire, Golddusk noticed that Duststep had been acting different than usual. He noticed how her fur had became quite unkempt and her eyes wild. He also noticed that way that Duststep kept looking at them as if both him and Daisytuft were foxes ready to pounce on her. He felt concerned for her, having never seen her like this before. Suddenly, something else grabbed his attention and causing him to stop walking. He smelled a terrible, pungent scent and wrinkled his nose in disgust. He heard Daisytuft remark on what the scent was and agreed that the scent was unmistakably that of a badger’s. He listened to Duststep as she explained her plan for the badger and felt confused about getting the twolegs to do it for them. He listened as Duststep clarified on what she meant on getting the twolegs to do it for them. He nodded in agreement. “That could work. The twolegs wouldn’t be able to ignore the badger if they think the badger had been digging up holes around the barn.” 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚎 lazzylake

FINCHHEART [ Scattered ] " The farmer stands and says: what happened to the land? " (The Goose and The Wren by Hop Along)
Finchheart sighed as her tail swished against the wall, her eyes a dull, blank gaze as she watched the ground. Her fur slowly moved with the wind, she looked up at the sky, the clouds moving slowly as Finchheart suddenly heard a call from below... PlumClan cats!
Finchheart looked down. "PlumCla- OH MY STARS! Holy mother-... A-... Are you okay?" she asked urgently. She paused as the cats told her the story, as her eyes widened. "I-... I could help." Finchheart told them, as she was taken to their camp.

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Fire * Helps Larchspeck * Herb gathering with jamilah "Fire!"
Forestfreckle froze as she heard Hatchhusk's yowls echo against the walls of the twoleg den that Plumclan called home. The den that Forestfreckle called home. The she-cat didn't know what to do. Her multicolored paws, usually carrying her somewhere with purpose, were rooted to the ground, uncertain of which way to go or what to do. How could a fire be in camp? Where was the source? What could she do? What should she do?
Forestfreckle's mind raced as her feet stood still. As she took in the sights around her, her emerald eyes widened in fear, ears pinned. Flames flew up the dry vines that clung to the camp's walls, and her clanmates were running around and screaming like the chickens the twolegs kept in their farmyard nearby. There was no order, and no logical solution as to what she or any other cat should do. This was not something that Forestfreckle was prepared for. She closed her eyes, breathing in the acrid stench of burning wood.
”PlumClan, retreat! We must escape camp!”
That was her mother. Forestfreckle opened her eyes back up to see Fawnstar acting, and Forestfreckle's paws followed her leader's orders, carrying her forward and towards the camp exit, but only for a moment before she froze again.
I need to help... the camp... it's falling apart! Forestfreckle wailed to herself, her thoughts a mess. I need to make sure I help cats get out! That's what Fawnstar is doing. That is what I should do! I can't let those I care about perish when I can still do something to help! The tortoiseshell she-cat looked around, watching as her former mentor Golddusk escaped safely. My apprentices! Fallowtail... I can't lose her again! Forestfreckle frantically sorted through pelts as they rushed past her through the camp entrance, searching for Fallowtail's creamy gray coat. After moments of finding no match, Forestfreckle took another deep breath, thinking harder. Fallowtail can care for herself, she's made it this far without me, she can make it out. She's a strong cat. Where's.... Forestfreckle suddenly burst forward, her paws finding the direction they needed. Those she cared about were in the medicine cat den.
"Larchspeck! Auburncreek!" Forestfreckle screamed, the smoke burning her throat. As she raced into the den, she found Hatchhusk pushing Larchspeck along. Then she found Auburncreek, her sister up and looking fiercer than ever, despite the whitecough still lingering in her lungs.
“Take Larchspeck with you, Hatchhusk can help.” Auburncreek meowed, her tone purposeful. Forestfreckle didn't want to leave Auburncreek behind. The bengal she-cat needed help too. Nervously, Forestfreckle opened her mouth to object, but before she could get anything out, Auburncreek rolled her eyes and meowed, “Come on, you mouse-brain! You really think fire is gonna get me?” She nudged Forestfreckle, the action reminding the young warrior of when they had played kit games together. Auburncreek had always been good at making quick decisions and keeping the games fun. She would be okay too... wouldn't she?
“Now go!”
Forestfreckle didn't object, and with a worried smile, she grabbed Larchspeck's scruff and helped guide him towards safety. As she left, she called back as Auburncreek raced towards the apprentices den, "I don't think the fire will get you, but I am worried what you might do to the fire!"
After some struggling, Forestfreckle and Larchspeck safely made it to the camp entrance. However, as much as Forestfreckle wanted to relax, she couldn't. Where was Fawnstar? Where was Fallowtail? She strained her eyes against the smoke, now billowing out of all of the den's cracks and openings. She could still see cats rushing around inside, but they all looked the same with their coats covered in soot and ash. Forestfreckle wailed. She wanted to go back in and find her friends and family, but to re-enter the heaving structure would mean certain death at this point. Forestfreckle gritted her teeth, tearing her eyes from the fray and focusing once again on Larchspeck. To distract herself, she would help clean his wounds, which were also covered in soot. If... if she was going to lose cats to the fire she was going to make sure one of them wasn't also lost to infection. Not long after she began, Auburncreek reappeared beside her with Plumclan apprentices in tow.
“I have to go back in, there is still cats inside." Auburncreek rasped, her head pressed against her sister's. Forestfreckle's eyes grew twice their size, her surprise obvious.
"You can't Auburncreek!" Forestfreckle pleaded, knowing that as much as she could help her sister fit in within Plumclan, she could not control her sister's actions. "I already can't find mother or Fallowtail! I can't have you lost in there too! I can't bear this!"
“You take care of the apprentices, we’ll be fine!” Auburncreek purred. She touched her nose to Forestfreckle's and then began to disappear back into the haze. “I’ll meet you back here, I promise.”
Forestfreckle watched her leave, her gaze changing from worried to solemn as the sun moved across the sky. The den burned, and it burned. Then the roof began to collapse. Forestfreckle watched in horror as part of it came crashing down, a wail escaping from her jaws. Then she gasped as she glimsped two dirty figures dragging out a limp auburn figure.
"No!" Forestfreckle ran forward, leaving Larchspeck with the apprentices Auburncreek had helped save. "No no no!" It was Fawnstar.
"Where's Auburncreek?!" Forestfreckle screamed to no one in particular as the rest of the roof caved in. "Where's Fallowtail?" She began to cry, but as time passed with neither cat showing up, she began to find her paws taking her to where she was needed, and she began to help the medicine cats care for the rest of her clan. As she discovered the fate of her sister and former apprentice, she gave in to what she was used to: work. Until the next gathering, Forestfreckle spent most of her time with Amberdapple and Jamilah. Gathering supplies such as cobwebs and moss. She kept herself busy to keep herself from grieving, but she was numb. This moon's loss had been too much. Being a warrior was starting to become too much. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: Poor bb. 🎄tansypool🪿 (Fallowtail) polarized (Auburncreek/Larchspeck) Feathertalon (Fawnstar) lemonshortbread (Jamilah)

Amberdapple
Deaths & grieving (chocolatemilk7 , asrise , jaybun! , polarized , 🎄tansypool🪿 , boragesky )
She could’ve saved them.
She could have saved them. If she had tried harder. She could’ve done it. And now they were all dead.
Duskfeather. Their own deputy. He had already been a warrior when Amberkit and Fawnkit were born, but a young one. And a good one. A very good one. Dead.
Hatchhusk. Her own apprentice. Her own apprentice. He was a good medicine cat. He had a good sense of humor. And he was kind. He would have been a mentor. Had his own apprentice, and joined the stars when it was his time. But it wasn’t his time. Not yet. Hatchhusk. Dead.
Willowmouse. She was a warrior by the time Amberkit was born as well. And then she was an elder. And then she was the Clan’s very first mediator. And she was dead. Dead.
Foggydusk. She had only been with them for four moons. She had joined full of life, full of hope for a new future. And what had she gotten? She would have been better off continuing to live as a loner. Dead.
Auburncreek. Amberdapple’s niece. Her sister’s own kit. Amberdapple could remember her as a kit in the nursery. Fawnstar and Amberdapple were both proud. So, so proud. Dead.
Pumpkinswipe and Fallowtail. Leopardcry’s kits. Pumpkinswipe was such a promising warrior. And she was so close to getting a mate. She loved Pheasantdrift. And Pheasantdrift loved her. And now they were torn apart. And Fallowtail. She had been taken by Twolegs as an apprentice, and finally, finally found her way back home. She had had three days. Three days she had had to reconnect with her Clan. Three days. And then she was taken away from them once again. But this time, she wouldn’t return. Dead.
And Leopardcry. Leopardcry. Leopardcry. Leopardcry was dead. Dead. Leopardcry. Amberdapple didn’t want to even think about her, lest Amberdapple leave the Clan for good.
And she. Could’ve. Saved them. Amberdapple could’ve tried harder. Tried to save them! She should’ve done it. She should’ve gone back in. They said she had to stay, tend to the injured. But she should’ve gone back. She could have saved them!
It was her fault. Amberdapple buried her nose under her paws. She couldn’t. She couldn’t do it. She couldn’t do it. She just couldn’t. She curled herself into an even tighter ball, her claws unsheathed, sheathed, unsheathed. Amberdapple squeezed her eyes closed. It didn’t matter. She knew that there was noise, cats moving all around her, but she couldn’t hear it. It was all blocked out. Because none of it mattered. None of it mattered anymore. And it never would. Leopardcry was dead.

WEEDGORSE DAFFODILNOSE [ Trailblazer ] " Chiquitita tell me what's wrong? I have never seen such sorrow... " (Chiquitita by ABBA)
Daffodilnose sprinted out of the den as soon as he smelled smoke. In fact, he was the first of two cats to tell everyone. He screamed loud. Really loud.
"FIRE!" the tom screamed, his voice suddenly mixed with Hatchhusk, and he turned around instantly when he was startled by the sudden voice. Suddenly, the two's call was followed by other cats repeating him like an echo, and in, literally, an instant, the camp lit in his eyes and he flailed back, his eyes burning from the brightness.
He stood up and saw flames surrounding the camp. He turned his head and saw cats running. Some running to help, and some running straight out.
...
He wanted to help.
...
But he didn't?
...
Daffodilnose began to turn to run out of the camp, but a plank hit him and he fell for a moment, before getting up and running again, turning back and looking at the burning building. His fur bristled, before he just blinked slowly.
***
Ever since the fire, Daffodilnose couldn't help but want to help others. He was constantly seen nearby Fawnstar's den, checking on her every day since the fire. He didn't know why he did it, but he did.
When patrolling with the new warrior, Purryfreckle, he was informed that the molly was deaf, and he tried as hard as he could to communicate with her through hand motions. As soon as the dog appeared, Daffodilnose pointed at the dog and turned to the trees, taking Purryfreckle and throwing her up the tree behind the fence and climbing up.
When he saw Wildclove running off he shouted at him. "HEY! You gonna abandon me?" he called, and watched as he came back up to the tree. "... You're welcome."

STORKLEG [ To StarClan With Ye ] " Though it sometimes touches me... for the likes of such as me... mine's a fine, FINE... LIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE! " (It's A Fine Life from Oliver!)
Storkleg sighed as she sat outside the clearing, her tail slowly swishing as her eyes darted every-which-way. She felt a cat come up to her... nothing out of the ordinary.
"Good day to you,███████." Storkleg greeted, her head drooping. There was... a weird presence coming from this cat. She felt her heart race, and she felt her eyes closing. Not by anything, just closing. Suddenly...
Claws stabbed her in the back.
Storkleg whipped around and swiped at the cat, hissing. "What are you trying to do, MURDER ME?!" she hissed. She looked into their eyes... and saw fire. Her eyes turned blank. "... Beware." she spoke ominously. One could make the conspiracy that she's possessed.
"Beware what?" the cat asked, before jabbing their paw into their chest. "Stupid storyteller cat... all your stories are made-up!" they hissed. Storkleg's eyes looked even more blank.
"Beware the fire that spreads from the pheasant's claw."
***
Storkleg woke up in StarClan. She felt tears roll down her cheeks. She never told anyone, but only recently she decided to adopt Shimmerpaw, who was now Shimmerfreckle. She stepped lightly around the StarClan clearing, her eyes dazzling from the spectacular scene.
In an instant, however, spirits appeared.
In an instant, Duskfeather, Hatchhusk, Willowmouse, Foggydusk, Auburncreek, Leopardcry, Pumpkinswipe and Fallowtail, all appeared in StarClan. "Wait what?!" she hissed. "No... what happened?!" she yowled. She ran to the viewing pool, and saw PlumClan on fire. She grumbled.
"Good job Pheasantdrift. You burnt your home, by accident, and YOU'RE to blame."

Lilacshade Lilacshade’s nose twitched at the scent of mouse creeping through the undergrowth as she listened to Dapplesong, who asked if they should catch it. “No, Dapplesong, that’s okay. We have plenty already. I say we go towards the fields and try to catch a rabbit!” She meowed, striding towards the fields already.
Not long after the two cats had reached it, Lilacshade spared a glance back to the camp. A great cloud of grey was rising, and when she scented the air again, the unmistakable scent of smoke filled her nostrils. She caught up to Dapplesong, who was also staring, transfixed at the rising smoke. “Fire.” She meowed softly. “And it’s close to the camp… Forget the rabbit, we should get back as soon as possible!” The senior warrior ran as quick as her legs could take her back into the forest, the smell of smoke growing thicker and thicker. Soon, she could hear the roaring of the flames. So it is in the camp. Lilacshade though grimly. I must return, they’ll need my help! I just hope StarClan protects us all…
She ran towards the entrance of camp with Dapplesong, finding a horrifying sight. The camp was ablaze, and the yowls of cats still sounded, through most were mournful cries. Lilacshade watched as the burnt body of Willowmouse was brought out of the still smouldering camp. Her eyes darted around, trying to find her friends among the crowd. Amberdapple…! What if she got stuck in the blaze?
Weaving into the crowd of her clanmates, Lilacshade hurriedly checked for each cat. Nearing the center of the throng, her heart seemed to leap into her throat as she found herself faced with the bodies of those who did not survive. She scanned over them desperately. Duskfeather, Willowmouse, Fallowtail, Pumpkinswipe, Foggydusk… So many… Auburncreek. She was such a great warrior. With a gulp, she recognised the singed bodies of Leopardcry and Hatchhusk, placed together neatly, eerily still. My apprentice… This is not the way I wanted to see you go. You were supposed to live longer than I!
She didn’t want to look anymore. A small spark of hope lit in her heart. No matter what, Amberdapple was not among the dead. Her love was alive. It only took a few more pawsteps until she found her, curled on the ground away from the others, her eyes squeezed shut. She must be horrified. Hatchhusk was her apprentice too… and she was close with Leopardcry as well. The loss of that couple alone was hard to take, nevermind the deaths of all the others. Lilacshade crept up to Amberdapple, slowly laying down next to her. Her fur brushed against the tortoiseshell molly’s pelt, and for a while, they lay in silent solidarity. No words had to be shared. But Lilacshade simply groomed her mate’s forehead, letting her know that she was still there, even if everything was lost. OOC --

SHIMMERFRECKLE [ Dead Adoptive Mom ] " Whatever it takes to make them (him) say your name, dead mom. " (Dead Mom from Beetlejuice)
Shimmerfreckle froze cold, ironically, when fire raged in the camp. Can't this day get any worse than it already has?
...
Storkleg was dead too. He never told anyone, but Storkleg "adopted" (well, she ACTUALLY did) him not long after he joined the clan, and ever since then he would always see her as his mother figure. It broke his heart when Duststep told the clan that she was found dead, and it broke his heart into many pieces. THAT was when he revealed it.

Shimmerfreckle mumbled to himself as he walked to Jamilah, his paws shifting against the ground. "Jamilah... Can you tell me why I feel grief from losing Storkleg? She wasn't really my mother, but she kind of adopted me, and now I don't know what to do."

Tansyhusk Named a warrior | Is feeling down
This is all wrong.
Standing between Bristlefur and Fawnstar in front of the crowd of cats, Tansyhusk smiled as best he could. He knew he should be happy- it was his warrior ceremony, after all- but he couldn't shake the feeling it wasn't anything like he'd dreamt of his whole life. His good dreams always involved a sunny day, throngs of cats shouting his name with vigour as he stood next to Orangepaw and Daffodilnose in the camp he'd known all his life, being honoured for his achievements and hard work.
But here it was overcast, the gloomy fog dyeing the paltry group of cats huddled in the makeshift camp dull colours. Orangepaw and Daffodilnose were watching from the sidelines. Why couldn't they have been up here with him? He could barely look Orangepaw in the eye from up here; does he feel like I left him behind? He didn't feel prepared to be a full warrior, either. The only reason he'd graduated this moon, really, was for his bravery in helping Fawnstar and Marshfur out of the fire. And listening to the shouts of 'Tansyhusk! Tansyhusk!', all he could think about were the voices that weren't there. He realized, with a sickening feeling like claws twisting in his stomach, that the spot where he was standing now was right where the bodies he had helped drag out of the camp's charred remains after the fire had been piled, before being buried. Looking down, he could swear he saw patches of blood and charred flesh smeared on the dirt; thinking about whose they might be made him want to retch.
As the cheering started to die down, he tensed, feeling the fur on his neck stand up on its own. There it was again; that strange, otherworldly feeling he'd gotten seeing Auburncreek's body in the fire, though not quite as intense this time. Snapping his head up to scan the crowd, it didn't look any different on the surface, but something about it felt fuller in an imperceptible way, like he was being watched by more cats than before. He couldn't distinctly make out any new voices added to the chorus of cheers and shouts either, but it seemed louder nonetheless. A smile- a genuine one this time- crept onto his face. I guess they're not gone forever, in a way. Maybe things weren't so bad after all, he supposed; at least he was a warrior at all, and thank Starclan all his family were still alive and well to see it.

Blazetumble Fire, Tells a fond story at Leopardcry's vigil || with names Flames. Smoke. Heat. It was everywhere at this point, filling the camp. They were all going to burn. And he wasn't moving.
The flames moved fast, hitching up the camp wall and devouring everything in their path. Blazing through camp. Where were his littermates? Where were Pheasasntdrift, Pineconenibble and Bristlefur? Leopardcry had told him that he had been born first, he needed to find them... and protect them. But where was his mother in this mess? Where was his father? Leopardcry and Cloverfur had been with him every step of the way, and even though Leopardcry had a mate now, she still cared for them.
There! It was the pale ginger form of Bumblecrest, his long fur flashing through the flames. By this point Blazetumble was covered in soot, his ginger fur turning grey in the haze. "Bumblecrest! Wait!" But his littermate was already gone. He needed to find his way out alone.
When the fire had started he had been in the warriors den with his littermates, but he had gotten separated from them shortly after Cloverfur had left. Now he was alone. Go, go, go! His siblings were probably worried about him, waiting for him with Leopardcry outside of camp. Jumping over a fallen flaming plank, Blazetumble started to move.
Another plank fell, Blazetumble heard the slight creak of the roof above his head. That can't be good. Run! His paws barely touched the ground. His terror was palpable, seen on his face and from the distinct scent coming off him in waves.
There! An opening, or maybe it's the camp exit? Either way, Blazetumble dashed for it, making it out as the roof gave another creak. Running faster, Blazetumble knew he needed to get away before it fell.
It wasn't hard to find the rest of the clan, following the scents of Plumclan mixed in with fear scent and smoke. They had made a sort of makeshift camp near the wall, the medicine cats already treating cats that had been burned by the fire. Blazetumble immediately scanned the crowd for his family, and his eyes widened when he only saw Bumblecrest, Marshfur, Bristlefur,Pineconenibble, and Pheasantdrift. No Cloverfur. No Leopardcry. No Pumpkinswipe. No Fallowtail.
Three shapes appeared through the fog, and when they got closer Blazetumble realized that it was Fawnstar, Cloverfur and Tansypaw. Then the roof collapsed. Pumpkinswipe! Fallowtail! They were still in there! He let out a wail. Somehow he had known. They weren't coming out.
---The bodies were dragged out of the burned building after the fire stopped, nine cats in total. Three of them were related to him. Leopardcry, Fallowtail, Pumpkinswipe. Fallowtail had just gotten back too. She didn't get to spend that much time with us.
They held a vigil for the fallen warriors, laying them out in their impromptu camp. They don't even get a proper vigil, in camp. Nothing was going right. Cats spoke up around the circle telling stories of the fallen cats. His paws kneaded the ground, and Blazetumble opened his mouth.
He was as surprised as any cat as the words tumbled out of his mouth, but he pushed forward. "Leopardcry was an amazing cat. Not only was she a great warrior, but she was an amazing warrior. Any cat who was born in the nursery when she was there will tell you so. I remember... I remember when I got my warrior name. I was so nervous, but Leopardcry helped me through my first patrol. Her word soothed me, and her legacy will continue in Plumclan even if she isn't here anymore. She will live in the hearts... of all of us. They all will." @tag [[ poor baby <3 ]]

Crunchytail 94 Moons - Childish, Keen Eye - Molly, She/Her Status: Healthy - Thoughts: Wonders what her twolegs would think of her - - - -
>> Major Event: Crunchytail recovers from heat exhaustion!
WIP!
>> Major Event: The camp catches fire.
Crunchytail sat by the wall. Clung to it at the edge of the clearing a bit more closely than she probably should have, like a needy kit cradled into the belly of a nursing queen. This was somehow the closest thing the clan had to safety or a home right now. At least for the time being. At a glance it seemed as though she were looking at the orchard but in total honesty? She wasn't.
She was staring towards the orchard but she was looking at nothing. Nothing seemed like the best thing to project her thoughts onto. A blank canvas. Something calm after the sheer string of devastation they'd all faced. Though one thought kept plaguing her mind. One that nagged and clawed at her brain endlessly, harder than any enemy in battle she'd faced at this point.
It all happened so fast. How could something so devastating, so destructive, so terrifying just... happen that fast?
She could remember it moment by moment and yet even now, it didn't feel real.
- - - Flashback - - - Crunchytail was laid in her nest in the warriors den, her paws curled neatly under her. After getting sick again and recovering yet again from something out of her control. Hatchhusk had told her to take it easy, that she never would've been knocked unwell again if she'd just "listened to her limits"... whatever that meant.
What did he know? He wasn't in her position.
She'd seen the passing looks her clanmates had thought were subtle. Heard the hushed whispers between her fellow warriors that they thought she'd not caught. Felt the haunches of the cats around her tense when she'd greeted them. She was in a much, much more strenuous situation than Hatchhusk could ever understand. Her clanmates couldn't overlook her history and a part of them still saw her as lesser for it.
Quite frankly? She didn't want them to look down on her... but she didn't want them to ignore it, either. She wasn't going to feel shame in where she came from, not because of anyone and least of all because of them. It's why she kept her collar. Sure, it being pretty also helped but that aside... It was a reminder of where she'd come from. Of the warm nights curled by the fire, of the gentle hands that had stroked her fur, of the twolegs who had loved her for more moons than she could remember. They could at least respect that and not treat it like some sort of topic they had to dance circles around. They were treating her like a kit.
And they wouldn't have any choice but to respect it once she'd beaten them all. Caught as much prey as she could, done the most patrols, excelled in her training far more than they could've ever expected her to. She wouldn't let them ignore it if they refused to - they'd have to admit a kittypet had excelled past them and she couldn't wait to rub that in their faces.
But for now... she supposed it'd be best if she gave this whole "listening to her limits" thing a shot. For as much as she wanted to prove them wrong and for as much as Hatchhusk was very clearly wrong, she couldn't risk letting herself get sick for a third time and knock back even more progress. She sighed deeply through her nose, her tail lashing back and forth and her ears pinning back in frustration.
...And as she did, a stray scent drifted past her. A familiar one.
Smoke? That couldn't be right.

[ 🐶 OOC: First off, I'm sorry for missing the last moon and for not getting to respond to a couple of posts. In all honesty I completely forgot about the rollover to the next moon happening on Mondays as well so it entirely slipped me by 💀
I've got a lot I'd like to get through for this moon and unfortunately I ended up having to start writing this later than I would've liked again, so a lot of this is still a WIP. I wanted to at least get it posted before the next moon even if it was unfinished, so do bear with me while I go back and edit this to finish it up!
I haven't wrote her interactions with Jamilah and Dapplesong yet but I plan to so I thought it'd be best to tag you two preeemptively just to be safe so you're aware of it - I hope you don't mind the notification! ]

After a moon of being in the medicine den Marshfur got a bit better she was still burned but she could move around a bit easier, Marshfur begins to head over to her father after all, She was Cloverfur’s last daughter alive. “Father, why do you trust that Starclan does everything for the better? If they did then why would they be letting in so many cats that don’t even belong here!,” she hissed she spent a lot of time with a she cat before the fire. “Father, I know you think of the onces you adopted as your own kits, you care more about them then us, you were so scared that Bristlefur was going to die over me, you let them call you their father, they share none of your blood” she hissed again before moving away. It wasn’t that she really ment what she said but she was grieving a lot from the death of Auburncreek. Marshfur wishes she could tell Auburncreek what she did, but she was dead and when she did it she didn’t have time to tell auburn. Tagging: Dew polarized

Cloverfur - Is free of fleas and debates Starclan with Marshfur
Finally, Cloverfur was free of fleas. The itching had been insufferable, but he had powered through it. And now they were gone, the medicine cats taking care of them almost as fast as they had come. But the grief in his heart stayed. Two of his daughters had died, as well as their mother. Died As in not coming back. Ever.
He hadn’t left the makeshift camp since the fire. He couldn’t bear to look at the damage, couldn’t bear to go on without them. Fallowtail had just returned! Pumpkinswipe had a whole future ahead of her! And his other daughter was injured, lying in the medicine den with Bristlefur by her side. What if he lost them too? No. They’ll make it out.
It was at this time that he was lying outside of the warriors den, head on his paws in a piece of shade. It was still unbearably hot, not helping his case on leaving camp. What he didn’t understand was why weren’t more cats grieving? Why wasn’t Marshfur sad about her sisters? Why didn’t she seem bothered?
As if the thoughts of his last biological daughter had summoned her, Marshfur appeared out of the medicine den, padding over to him despite the burn she had received. “Hello Marsh-“ but she didn’t let him finish. Instead she questioned his nature of Starclan, hissed at him for caring for the adopted kits. “I believe that Starclan are just cats that are trying their best, like you and me. Your mother is in Starclan, your sisters are in Starclan. They are safe there. And I don’t care about Bristlefur more than you! I’m worried about both of you. I don’t… I don’t know what I would do if I lost either of you after all that has happened.” He dropped his gaze down to his paws, looking up as Marshfur stomped away. She probably doesn’t mean the things she said. She’s probably just sad over all the deaths. Hopefully.

Firnvoice - Saw the barn cats in the distance - Thinks Daisytuft is a reliable warrior - Is trod on by Hawkheart - Hunting Training Patrol {--} with Pheasantdrift & Daffodilnose Firnvoice sat in camp, staring out into the forest beyond. Out there, was the barn cats. They had met a couple times, not like Firnvoice was able to understand them or anything. They talked so fast, not even a deaf cat as understanding as her could read their signals. She blinked, realising how dumb she must look to the other warriors. She turned around, staring at the warriors in the camp. She tried to concentrate, she really did, but she just didn’t know what they were saying, their jaws only moving silently. What were they talking about? Her? She was useful! She could hunt, maybe not properly, but in her own way. She jumped when she felt the vibrations of a cat behind her. She flicked her ears in response, not like it would do anything. She picked up half the conversation, a cat called Daisy. Daisy something. She couldn’t tell. Yet, she could tell she was a respectable warrior. If only the other cats could be the same. A cat named Hawk had trodded on her tail the day before. If only she could tell them how much it hurt before they walked away so suddenly!
Feeling an unusual rumble in the ground, she looked up to see two warriors at the entrance, both staring at her. A single tail tap, that’s all it took for Firnvoice’s attention. “Patrol?” She meowed, her voice was louder than other cats, but it wasn’t like she could tell. She couldn’t hear her own voice, of course. She nodded to the warriors, them both introducing themselves. Pheasant and Daffodil. She didn’t understand the last parts of their name, who knows why warriors needed such strange names. She had been renamed, she guessed. Cats talked to her with the same strange name. To herself, she was still Firn. Seeing the warriors questions, she quickly purred. “Of course I can hunt.” She dipped her head, “I use the vibrations in the ground. I can feel the mouse’s feet tapping the ground before you can hear them. I can smell them too, and of course I have my sight.” Firnvoice told them, and the two younger cats started the training. Both of them tried to show her new moves, but she just pushed them off with a simple shrug. She already knew all of them.
[[ yeah I just headcanon she can only lip-read their first names lol — it’s probably pretty confusing for a deaf cat. ]]

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Appreciates Firnvoice's help on hunting patrols * Border patrol with ktieprickle Plumclan was a clan of acceptance, and it wasn't anything crazy to see a new cat or two in camp all of a sudden. A while back, Crunchytail had joined the clan, and then Crunchytail had brought in Firnvoice. Forestfreckle liked Crunchytail, and she had also come to appreciate Firnvoice. Over the past moon, Firnvoice had helped Forestfreckle on many hunting patrols, and although the white she-cat was deaf, she often understood what Forestfreckle was trying to communicate. After losing so much after the fire, Forestfreckle hadn't been up to chat with any cat lately, and having Firnvoice on patrol instead of somebody else who would ask Forestfreckle too many questions was comforting to the auburn and gray she-cat. Forestfreckle appreciated just padding next to the white warrior in comfortable silence, at least until work had to be done, and they both got work done together well.
But then there was Sapling, who was the newest member of Plumclan. And Forestfreckle couldn't put her finger on it, but there was just something she didn't trust about the golden tabby molly. The rumor was that Sapling had been exiled from her former group, but she had yet to offer up any further explanation. To Forestfreckle, exile was a big word. If a cat was exiled from a clan, every cat knew that cat had undoubtedly done something terrible. Cats didn't just become exiled for no reason. Despite this, Forestfreckle had welcomed the golden molly into the clan just as she would have anyone else. However, as soon as Sapling had gotten comfortable in Plumclan, pawprints of unknown cats had started appearing at the on Plumclan's side of the border with the barn cats.
The pawprints were never to deep into the territory, but it was suspect none the less. The barn cats knew Plumclan lived here, and as far as Forestfreckle knew, the two groups respected each other for the most part. So why were things changing now? Did it have to do with Sapling? Or were these a different group of cats testing Plumclan's patience? Forestfreckle knew there was only one way to find out, and so she arranged an ambush with the help of the younger warrior Kiteprickle.
After heading to the road, Forestfreckle instructed Kiteprickle to hide low in the bushes with her. "When we see them on our side of the road," Forestfreckle meowed, "We'll make ourselves known. I'm not sure just the two of us will be able to ask questions on our own, but we can at least enforce our border and get a glimpse of what they look like and where they are coming from. If it's too big of a group, we'll retreat to camp for help. Are you ready?"
Forestfreckle sure hoped that she herself was ready. An ambush with just two warriors was a bit risky with half of the clan still recovering, but Plumclan needed information. Forestfreckle couldn't lose anyone else. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: Ivy, I'll let you have fun with sending the trespasser over the border if you'd like (: ivypool4life (Kiteprickle) polarized (Firnvoice)

Duststep Border patrol with Stargazer and Blizzardwing | Plans to visit the healer's den | Is telling jokes at the expense of JamilahDuststep unhurriedly followed the path of pawprints, Blizzardwing beside her. Stargazer had dashed towards the source of the prints as soon as she'd spotted them; Duststep figured it wasn't that big a deal, they would get there when they got there. She didn't want to run after her anyway. The other day, she'd landed on her paw a bit funny when she tried and failed to catch a robin that was a little too fast, and it still didn't feel right. She'd been planning to visit the healer's den for it, but had been putting it off, as the smell of the herbs in there was so strong it almost irritated her nose. I have no idea how the medicine cats put up with it all day. In the meantime, she would just take the time to chat with Blizzardwing. She was quite glad Blizzardwing had been assigned to the patrol with her. Duststep trusted the white molly; like Duststep, she was an experienced warrior who had lived her whole life in Plumclan, and she had no doubt that Blizzardwing was as intensely loyal to the clan as she was. Too loyal to kill Storkleg. Many of the clan's other cats she had to admit she would be quite nervous to be left alone right now with given what had happened last moon; in truth, she was glad Stargazer had gone to follow the pawprints instead of Blizzardwing. Not that she didn't trust Stargazer, she did! It was just... she'd spent many moons elsewhere before joining Plumclan, made connections with many other cats. There was no way Plumclan could mean as much to her as it meant to Duststep and Blizzardwing. If anyone was likely to murder Storkleg... it'd be an outsider like her. But that doesn't mean much, she thought, her mouth furrowing into a small frown. "Do you ever think it's strange that we let so many outsiders in?" she said aloud to Blizzardwing, turning to the white cat beside her. "Crunchytail, Firnvoice, Sapling just this past moon. I mean, even one of our medicine cats is one. So are her kits. I feel a little bad for them, that she won't tell them where they're really from. No wonder they turned out so nervous and insecure, I would be too if I was raised by a medicine cat." She chuckled, stopping awkwardly when she realized Blizzardwing wasn't really laughing along with her and turning her gaze away to stare dead straight in front of her again. "...Ah, don't tell her I said that." Their walk continued in awkward silence for a short while, until the pair finally caught up with Stargazer, locked in a confrontation with a puffy-furred, muddy-pawed rogue. Duststep bared her teeth and unsheathed her claws in response, and the rogue's aggressive demeanour deflated almost instantly.
Tagging: stormshade1 (Blizzardwing) Tansyhusk Border patrol with Dogstripe and Bumblecrest | Is purring along with friends
"Border patrols are so easy. No hunting required. Barely any fighting, ever. The worst thing about this is the heat, but if I was just sitting at the camp it'd still be just as hot since there's no shade there," Tansyhusk prattled on. Purring quite loudly, he was glad that he was finally on a patrol with two cats closer to his own age; no senior warriors to admonish him for slacking off, no mentor to tell him what to do, just him, Dogstripe, and Bumblecrest talking as they lazily made their way along the road that separated Plumclan's territory from that of the barn cats. As they walked, he had a thought; if Duststep was here she'd probably tell me to get away from the road. She's so weird about that. But she's not here, so I can do this... "Watch this!" He veered onto the black path, before quickly stepping right back off with a curt hiss; if the sun's heat was sweltering, the road was practically on fire! Before his patrolmates could laugh at him for the brazen idea, he joined in laughing it off with them.
By the side of the road up ahead, he spotted an orange molly, waiting. He paid her little mind at first, thinking she was just another one of those cats no one but him seemed to notice and no one but Daffodilnose and maybe Blizzardwing seemed to really believe him about, until he saw Dogstripe and Bumblecrest react to her presence. Oh, I guess they can see her too. She padded up to them and introduced herself as Sapling, explaining that she'd been exiled by the barn cats across the way (peering past her at the barn, where a few cats sitting outside were staring daggers at her, he concluded that that seemed about right) and asking to join Plumclan. He knew Fawnstar had allowed many cats to join Plumclan recently, but weren't they all kittypets or some such sort of thing? How would she feel about an ex-barn cat? Instinctively, he looked over at Bumblecrest; he was the oldest one there, and if there was anyone there who know what to do, Tansyhusk figured it would be him... but he looked just as confused. Sapling insisted again, and in the pressure of the moment he blurted out "Okay, okay, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. Let's ask Fawnstar, then."

Hawkheart think's Tansyhusk is being thoughtful!
Hawkheart sat in camp and looked around lazily at the younger warriors working to make a strong barricade to keep out badger's and foxes from the den's close to the forest and thought as they worked- These new warrior's are so helpful! He then saw Tansyhusk lift a large stick and move it closer to the working spot. The young warrior was slipping and Hawkheart rushed forward to grab the other side of the big branch. " You're older warrior is here to help!" He said and smiled at the thoughtful cat then helped move the branch where it goes.
" Good job Tansyhusk! At this point we'll have the camp ready in no time!"Hawkheart patrol with Fawnstar and Daisytuft! Is feeling nervous!Hawkheart was walking along with his sister and Fawnstar on a border patrol and looked back at Fawnstar over and over to check if she was looking at him. I hope i don't do anything stupid! He thought and started to walk faster when a scent flowed through the trees in front of him. " Fox!" He hissed to he's patrol mates and stopped looking at Fawnstar who was already walking forward slowly. Maybe this is the time to show her what i can do! He thought and rushed forward through the bush and came face to face with a large red fox. He dropped down fast as the fox swiped at him and then lounged at it and dug his claws into the hard fur on it's back ripping off clumps. He heared his patrol mates yelling at him to come back but he didn't and tried to swipe again but missed and the fox grazed his shoulder with it's teeth and he fell back looking the fox right into it's eyes! " Fawnstar! Daisytuft!" He shouted and closed his eyes as the fox loomed over him.Realizes she has a lot in common with Thorncrawl! It bitten by a snake!
Dapplesong was helping with Repair's to the wall next to camp and looked at the many cats helping with the work. The first cat she saw was her brother Thorncrawl. I can't believe that he was made deputy! She thought and walked closer to him and brushed his shoulder with her's- " Hey they Deputy." She said teasingly and set to work besides him. She sent a quick glance at him and saw an expression of tiredness come over his face at her words. He must be feeling really tired from the weight of the clan on his shoulders. I guess we have that in common. Everyone always thinks of me as the strong one but i don't feel that way. Just today i had to settle a fight between two younger warriors and helped take five thorn out of the elders paws to!She looked at him and put her head on his head and said in a quiet voice- " I love you. You're doing great ya know." Just as she finished her words she felt a pain shot up her leg and she looked down to see a snake biting into her flesh.
She almost dropped to the ground but Thorncrawl helped her up and called a medicine cat who ushered her into the medicine den. Just as Thorncrawl was leaving she stopped him by putting her paw on his tail- " Remember, you're a good deputy. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!"Dapplesong ask's Kiteprickle to be her mate! Ensnares her with a charming smile!Dapplesong sat in the medicine cat's den and thought about the one thing on her mind. Kiteprickle.
The she-cat had caught her eye for a long time but she had never thought the other cat would like her back. I guess I'll never know until i try.
She slipped out the den and walked over to the clearing. Seeing kiteprickle she sat down besides the she-cat and opened her mouth to say something then closed it. What am i thinking! She wont like me she...cant. I'm not even that good how will she...Dapplesong you will tell her or die trying!
" Kiteprickle." The she-cat looked at her and flicked her ears up in an listening way-
" I...I don't really know how to start this but i want to talk to you about something important." She took a deep breath and continued. "We've known each other for a long time and i feel like our...relationship has grown a lot since then. To me you're kind and smart and fast and loyal and i think that maybe we could be..." This is the moment! Do it Dapplesong!
" Mates? I really like you and i want to be...with you! Do you...feel the same?"Tagging- 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚎 (Tansyhusk) ivypool4life (Kiteprickle) lazzylake (Daisytuft) Feathertalon (Fawnstar) duck (Thorncrawl)

Golddusk- Patrol with Wildclove and Crunchytail Golddusk walked with his patrol. The summer afternoon heat felt sweltering and Golddusk already wanted to go back to camp so that he could be in the shade and escape the hot weather. Long fur and an unusually hot summer day don’t usually mix well after all. Just then, Golddusk noticed a movement out of the corner of his eyes. It was a squirrel feasting on some cherries that had fallen to the ground some time ago. Golddusk quickly dropped into the hunter’s crouch, padding towards it as quickly as he could. His tail twitched in excitement at the thought of catching this prey. If he could catch this squirrel, he would be able to bring it back to the fresh-kill pile at the new camp and help his clan recover from the fire that had occurred last moon. As he was padding forward and getting into range in order to pounce onto the squirrel, he accidentally stepped onto a twig. It snapped loudly, alerting the squirrel. Golddusk expected the squirrel to bolt for the nearest tree but was surprised to see it run around in circles. These cherries must had been fermented. Golddusk thought to himself before quickly pouncing onto the confused squirrel and catching it. He padded back to the rest of the patrol, carrying the now limp prey in his jaws. @moonkt60633 Solarmyr
