Fallowpaw EVENT: is lost
She pushed past a bush branch, she almost wished she was still in that two-leg den but immediately reprimanded herself. Is that Fawnstar?! It looked almost EXACTLY like Fawnstar, she knew better than to approach though they could be aggressive. She had absolutely NO idea where she was, and danger could be ANYWHERE! She began smelling mouse scent and crouched into a hunting position. She still had to eat even if she was lost, she approached the mouse silently and pounced before digging into it. "This smells and probably TASTES better than that kittypet food!" She growled, ripping another piece of flesh from the carcass. She hoped with all her might that she was close to the territory, she new every inch of it she could find the camp faster than a mouse into a burrow.

BugkitEvent: Snuck out with Dogkit and fell into a river, but is saved by Leopardcry! She later catches kittencough from the chill. - Is bothering the elders for stories
- Loves listening to Pumpkinpaw quiz herself on hunting skills (+++)
When Bugkit was banished to the medicine den for kittencough crimes, she had initially been in her own personal hell. Just existing in the camp was exhausting enough as it was, so being enclosed in a small den with the same cats for days on end was not her idea of fun.
But... somehow... she found comfort in the routine. It was quieter in the medicine cat den. Less chaotic. And she was, very importantly, left alone, so for the first time Bugkit had space to think. And think she did.
They... actually take care of you here. Even if you're sick. She thought of her mother. They don't just leave you on the Thunderpath to die.
Pumpkinpaw quizzing herself on killing bites outside didn't even make Bugkit want to beat her with her little kitten paws, which was the way Bugkit reacted to most things she disliked. Actually, it was intriguing and it made Bugkit's heart beat with excitement at the idea of some day being able to deliver killing bites herself. Not that she would ever admit it to Pumpkinpaw.
She felt her muscles relax. For the first time she felt at ease in this new home. And when she eventually drifted off, it was with a rare smile.
(ooc: yeah i didn't end up writing the bothering the elders part let's just imagine it happened offscreen lol)

Jamilah PlumClan Camp | w/ Willowmouse, Forestfreckle jaybun! tigersdoroar Takes great care with Willowmouse's herbs Checks on Forestfreckle Wonders if she knew any of the rogues
Jamilah padded softly across the clearing, her breath slightly labored from the lingering water in her lungs. The overcast sky cast a gray pallor over the camp, matching her clouded thoughts. She had watched as Blue, the loner she had tended to for moons, limped out of the medicine den for the last time. "Are you sure about this?" she mewed, her blue eyes filled with concern.
Blue turned, his newly healed body still stiff but determined, "I am. Thank you for everything, Jamila, but the loner's life calls to me."
Jamilah could do nothing but dip her head respectfully and send the mysterious tom away on his journey. Only StarClan knew what his path was - if even they knew. Maybe he had heard of the raid that YewClan carried out and had attachments there, but Blue seemed much kinder than those bullies. But who knows, cats can get themselves into rather troublesome predicaments - some of her friends could have been part of the rogues. All that time, all those herbs used...but it was his choice. Jamilah felt better knowing that she and the other medicine cats saved a life rather than let him die a horrible, painful, and slow death. Maybe their kindness will be repaid somehow.
Shaking off the memory, Jamilah turned her attention to her original destination: the elders' den. With leafbare approaching, it was important to pick herbs strategically for any treatment until they could be fresh again. She did her best to ensure the bundle between her jaws was as fresh as possible while still being cognizant of saving the extremely hard-to-come-by ones for an emergency. "Willowmouse," she called softly, "Let's go through your bundle again." Jamilah smiled, trying to make the rather unpleasant, bitter experience a bit more manageable.
As she laid out the herbs before Willowmouse and their small talk came to an end, her dark blue eyes drifted to where Foresfreckle sat alone, seeming to stare dreamily in to the distance. "Let me know if you have anymore concerns, Willowmouse." she purred before padding over to her clanmate, "I heard you've been interested in what the twolegs are up to," she teased, "What are your findings then? I find them to be so curious."

Duststep Training patrol with Pineconepaw
Perched in the nook of a branch's shaded leaves in the golden glow of the early evening, Duststep kept a watchful eye on her apprentice who she had told to search for her as the first half of tonight's training. She wanted the young cat to recognize just how useful shadows can be for hiding in almost plain sight. Pineconepaw's eyes passed right over her again, and she failed to stifle a giggle, alerting the apprentice whose head immediately whipped around in her direction. Pineconepaw made her way towards her mentor, but by the time she arrived at the base of the tree Duststep was gone, the plum tree's orange leaves just barely shaking in her wake. Duststep smiled cheekily from her new position behind another tree nearby; the apprentice's effort was valiant, but she didn't want to make it too easy for her. Eventually, she decided Pineconepaw had learned enough about stealthiness by seeing it in action to be interested in learning the skill. She slunk behind her apprentice, her silvery pelt glinting almost gold in the light, and lightly batted her tail. It was harmless, but enough to startle the brown cat, who jumped and whipped around to find her mentor grinning back at her. "Neat trick, isn't it? The knack is to be quiet, and don't look straight at your target when they're facing your direction, or they'll see your eyes glowing in the light. It'll probably be easier for you than me, since you have dark fur," she told her apprentice. Tagging: N/A | OOC: Just checking but I saw that the person roleplaying Pineconepaw stepped down right? If not I'll edit this to tag them and rewrite it to give Pineconepaw more agency
Tries to cheer Duskfeather up, but he's still worried
Duststep finished grooming herself before standing up and hopping down from the tattered old Twoleg sofa she had been sitting on, heading in a beeline towards the prey pile. Spotting Duskfeather sitting nearby, she noted that he looked worried. The life of a deputy was surely stressful- she assumed, at least- but the furrows in his brow betrayed a different kind of worry than she was used to seeing on the dark-furred tom's face. Racking her brain to try to think of what it could be as she walked up to him, she remembered overhearing about a skirmish Yewclan had gotten into recently; maybe it was that? Reaching the deputy, she sat down next to him, smiling good-naturedly in an attempt to make him feel better. "Hey, Duskfeather. Are you feeling alright? Something wrong?" she asked, tilting her head to the side a bit. Tagging: chocolatemilk7 (Duskfeather)| OOC: Didn't want her to only have interactions with open characters and wasn't sure what to do with "Jokes around with Hawkheart" (though I still might write that one later) so I figured I would write this one from Duskfeather's Tansykit Is getting in Fawnstar's way
Tansykit did his best to keep up with Plumclan's leader as she made her way across the camp. Being so small, his legs were much shorter than hers. But that didn't stop him from doing his best to keep up with the nimble molly, weaving between her paws and very nearly tripping her on many occasions, yammering on the whole while with his train of thought which was mostly composed of a series of questions asked far quicker than Fawnstar could feasibly answer them. "So what's it like being a leader? Do you have a lot of work? Is it fun having your own den? I wish I had my own den. Orangekit rolled onto me in his sleep last night and woke me up, he's super annoying sometimes. Do you have brothers too? Are they also super annoying? Did you get to pick what their warrior names were 'cause you're the leader? Is it tough coming up with different names for all the warriors? What are you gonna name me when I'm a warrior, can it be something super cool and tough like Tansybite or Tansyclaw?" He paused his monologue briefly as he tripped over his own paws while walking, allowing Fawnstar a short reprieve from the kit's babbling when she gained a short lead before he quickly caught up and continued. "Weedkit says I should be named Tansymouth 'cause I talk so much but I don't like that name. Besides, I don't talk that much anyways, I was trying to tell him that but he said that was exactly what he was talking about and walked away. What are you walking to, anyways? Can I help? I wanna be Plumclan's leader someday so I wanna learn how to do all the stuff a leader has to do early, then I'll be good at it when I become leader." Again he stopped talking, though this time to look up at Fawnstar expectantly awaiting her response.
Tagging: Feathertalon (Fawnstar) Spent a long, long time playing with Cloverfur
Tansykit bounded cheerily back to Cloverfur sitting in the medicine den, almost tripping over the moss-ball he held in his mouth. He dropped the moss in front of Cloverfur for him to bat across the camp again so Tansyfur could race to catch it and bring it back as fast as he could. His mother- Jamilah- had told him that Cloverfur had to stay in the den because he'd gotten a sprain patrolling outside camp; he wasn't sure what exactly that meant, but he was glad it meant the warrior now had the time to play with him in camp all day! And it really had been all day, he realized when he saw the golden light seeping into the camp to indicate the waning daylight. I woke him up this morning to play with me, right? So that means we've been doing this the whole day. Wow, no one ever wants to play this long with me! He grinned at Cloverfur, headbutting the grey warrior in a gesture of affection. Jamilah always told him that it was polite to say thank you, so... "Thanks for playing moss-ball with me, Cloverfur!" he purred.

Auburncreek Feels like Fawnstar doesn’t take her seriously, Thinks she could solo a badger & Patrol {--} with Stargazer, Forestfreckle & Fawnstar Auburncreek knew the day Fawnstar must have been dreading. Blizzardwing’s kits were close to being apprentices. Her mother would have to make the decision of the mentors. Auburncreek had been in a bad mood since the patrol with Cloverfur, what gave him the right to speak to her like that? She was the leader’s own kit. Although, that felt like nothing now. If Fawnstar did truly take her seriously, she would have had an apprentice by now. Even if Auburncreek got one of the new litter, the damage had already been done. Her own mother didn’t trust her, instead giving one to the kittypets and loners of the clan. Kittypets to raise clan-born young! She scoffed. She just raised her head pridefully, and walked after Forestfreckle and Stargazer. It was no lie to Auburncreek that Stargazer didn’t like Auburncreek either. It works both ways, the bengal molly eyed her gaze.
Atleast Forestfreckle was here. What’s so much better about her than me? What makes her a better cat for mentoring? She rolled her eyes, before catching gaze of a very old badgers den, now just a tiny hollow. With the rage boiling inside the molly, she could solo a badger. A feisty one at that. Anything to get her mind of off anything in Plumclan.
The patrol traveled to the marshier parts of the territory, and Auburncreek could feel her paws draining in the muddy ground.
She perked her ears up at Forestfreckle. “Red berries?” Auburncreek asked. She stumbled across to Forestfreckle, feeling the mud press up on the back of her paws. She just chuckled, nudging her sister harshly. “Those are cranberries, don’t you remember?” She snorted. “Oh well, we may as well bring them back.” She eyed the other two cats. She quickly snapped off a branch with her jaws, a swift and simple bite. The crunch almost made Auburncreek’s fur bristle. She nodded to Forestfreckle, seemingly ignoring Stargazer. Atleast Forestfreckle was a true warrior, and not a simple kittypet. I suppose that’s better than a kittypet getting an apprentice. However, something lingered in the back of her mind. Would Havenspots have gotten an apprentice? The thought almost made her voice crack. [[ A lot of pips today ]]

Wildclove
Leaf-Fall was upon them in full swing, an excellent time to stock up on fresh kill and other things not available in leaf-bare. It always makes Wildclove nostalgic, remembering watching the leaves change from his window- smelling the seasons turn from the small crack and screen. Autumn was his favourite by far.
Wildclove is currently out with Hawkheart hunting. The warrior feels like he doesn't spend much time with his clanmate- he really does think Hawkheart is cool. At least he doesn't think he wasn't worthy of his own apprentice. Wildclove winched internally- maybe he wasn't. The thought creeps in unbidden. If a clanborn had Pumpkinpaw as their apprentice- would she have gone out and gotten hurt? Softly he growls, shaking the chill from his coat. No! Don't let those cats get to you. Auburncreek is just jealous, and understandably peeved- she is the leader's kit. But maybe she’d have a ‘paw if she wasn't-. He actually growls out loud this time. There's no use complaining about it- he can only move forward. Whatever beef other cats have with him is Not his Problem.
“We should hunt next to the barn” Wildclove flicked his tail as the pair crunched past the forest- the leaves under their paws giving a very sweet soundtrack. “This time-a day there's no Twolegs ‘round. ‘N plenty of prey” He grinned at his patrolmate, time to actually get to business and stop wallowing. OOC: Two people can punch in their internal dialouge Auburncreek!! and im trying to make dialouge easier to read- hows the bold? And again- man that accent is hard to do why would i do this to myself

Stargazer Border Patrol || with Auburncreek & Forestfreckle Thankfully today she wasn't on the Dawn Patrol, the last ordeal having drained her for the rest of the day and night. Not so thankfully was the fact that she was patrolling with Auburncreek again, a cat who seemed to hate her just because she used to be a kittypet. But she still had friends in the clan. Wildclove had been nothing but friendly to her since he had found her on the side of the road, and she and Blizzardwing talked sometimes as the young molly had adopted her siblings kits. Maybe Stargazer should have, but maybe it would be better for them to have a clanborn mother than one that used to be a kittypet.
Well, Stargazer had a patrol to get to, and maybe Forestfreckle could keep her littermate in line. Stargazer knew the she-cat did not like her, and Stargazer, in turn, did not like the ginger she-cat. Maybe once Auburncreek got an apprentice she would treat all of her clanmates nicer, but only time will tell. Her nieces and nephew were going to be made apprentices next moon according to Blizzardwing, which would mark her staying here for six moons. That means I would have been here for half a year. Half a year since my housefolk abandoned me, Mari, and the kits.
Heading out of camp, keeping her distance from the two sisters, Stargazer thought and looked. They were supposed to be on a border patrol but things had been peaceful for all of Plumclan recently. The only things all the clans had encountered recently were Yewclan with the rogues, but it had been reported that they had been driven out. No cat had scented them in any of their territories since.
They were getting closer to the Burdockclan border, the ground becoming more marshy and wet beneath their paws. Stargazer didn't mind the wet, when she had been living inside her twoleg's nest she would have had to have gotten her paws wet if she had wanted to go outside, and most days she did want to go outside.
A burst of color caught her eye, and Stargazer looked up when Forestfreckle pointed out the bush of red berries, still on the Plumclan side of the border. "What are those?" She asked. Stargazer had been told stories, mostly by the clan cats, what death berries could do to a cat. But they weren't death berries.
“Those are cranberries, don’t you remember? Oh well, we may as well bring them back.” What made Stargazer upset was how Auburncreek acted as if she was not even there, not addressing her or even looking in her direction. All of the ginger mollies attention was focused on her sister, forcefully, as if giving Stargazer a glance was having dirt on the warrior code.
Shaking the thoughts, Stargazer padded forward, coping the technique the clan cats were using. It took her a few tries to get the branch to come off cleanly and once she did there were not many left. The patrol reasoned that they should leave some so they could grow back, then headed back to camp. [[ OOC here ]]

Hawkheart, dapplesong's warrior name!-Patrol with wildclove!Hawkheart filled with pride at dapplesong's early warrior naming and was not suprised when she walked up to him and said- " Thank you so much for helping me be the warrior I always wanted to be! Now I can prove to my clan that I'm worthy of being a warrior and maybe some day the deputy or leader!" Hawkheart looked at her and smiled saying truthfully- " You have nothing to prove! You will be a great warrior and your times of adventure and hardships you will face with strengh and power! Don't worry you have nothing to prove!" As she walked away hawkheart felt ready for a nice patrol to let of all the feelings he was having at the moment and was suprised to be set on a patrol with wildclove, a cat he had really no relation to. He had the other cat walked out of camp and wildclove lead him twords the barn and they stoped on a hill over looking it. “ We should hunt next to the barn.” Wildclove flicked his tail as him and grined “ This time-a day there's no Twolegs ‘round. ‘N plenty of prey.” Hawkheart looked at him sceptical and then remembered fallowpaw being taking by the twolegs. " I don't know." He said slowly and thoughtfully " Maybe we should let the twolegs be. They could get us!" Just like fallowpaw was left unsaid. Dapplesong's warrior name!-Greets daisytuft at warrior den for the first time! Patrol with feathersong!" I do!" Was still ringing in her ears from her warrior naming and she vivedly remembered walking up to hawkheart and saying to him- " Thank you so much for helping me be the warrior I always wanted to be! Now I can prove to my clan that I'm worthy of being a warrior and maybe some day the deputy or leader!" Then hawkheart had looked at her and said the words she had always wanted to hear- " You have nothing to prove! You will be a great warrior and your times of adventure and hardships you will face with strengh and power! Dont worry you have nothing to prove!" Dapplesongs pelt burned with pride and happiness as she brushed hawkheart and for the first time walk over to the warrior den with permisson. That night she was asighed to a twilight patrol with feathersong to hunt. As she was walking out of the warrior den for the first time she noticed daisytuft walking in. Dapplesong smiled and said to her- " Hi!" She felt so excited to be on a warrior patrol for the first time! As a kit she had dreamed of this moment and was finally ready as she and feathersong walked out into the dark forest in search for prey. As they walked she thought about how thornpaw had to wait to become a warrior because of a few things she had missed in training. I guess I just got a really good mentor! She thought happyly, Then turned to feathersong and asked her mother- " I dont see any prey here. Where should we go now?" Tagging- Fawn (Feathersong) moonKT60633 (Wildclove) lazzylake (Daisytuft)

Cloverfur Is having a rough day, Thinks Bristlepaw is annoying (---), Thinks Golddusk is charming (+rom), Is touched Rindlestripe wants to patrol with him (++) You could say that today wasn't Cloverfur's favorite day. He hadn't gotten sick or injured in moons and the thing that had taken him down at the moment was a sprain. A sprain. At least he didn't have to feel guilty about not being able to train Pheasantpaw, who was also in the medicine den sick with whitecough. This way he could give her small training sessions here and there when they both had the strength for it, but they were advised to rest until they got better. Pumpkinpaw was also in the medicine den due to having broken her leg while out of camp, and while Leopardcry and Pheasantpaw shared a nest, Cloverfur and Pumpkinpaw did. Normally she would probably share a nest with her mother, but the medicine cats didn't want any more cats getting whitecough before leafbare even started.
The day was glum, the sky covered in clouds. Cloverfur was chilling outside of the den observing the camp. One of the reasons he wasn't having the best day was Bristlepaw, who had come in to visit Pheasantpaw. She had talked and talked and talked, not taking any of the cats hints to go away! It was the time that Cloverfur was planning to take a nap during, but he had had to listen to all of the she-cats chatter when she wasn't even here to visit him.
Golddusk, his former apprentice, warmed his day. The tom was talking to some of the other Plumclan members, smiling and adding his own opinion from time to time. Cloverfur smiled to himself. This wasn't the first time he was having these feelings, a feeling that he wanted to be closer to his former apprentice. Not only that, but he had heard from Golddusk earlier that Rindlestripe had said that they had wanted to patrol with him! Cloverfur felt touched when he had heard that, and once he got better Cloverfur was sure going to ask Duskfeather to put them on a patrol together.

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Wonders if kittypet life is really so bad after Fallowpaw is taken (Moon 27, Patrol with Fallowpaw, dapplepaw, and hawkheart) * Is obsessed with following twolegs * Responds to Jamilah Forestfreckle sat alone on her usual rock at her usual early morning time, just outside of the Abandoned Twoleg nest. She never meant to appear aloof, but she relished the alone time she carved out for herself every morning. It was her time to think, process, and grieve. Mornings spent on her rock were her mental therapy, and this act had become a repetitive habit since Havenspots had joined Starclan. Sighing, she bowed her head and began her usual list, going through each moon since her warrior ceremony with thoughts popping up almost automatically at this point.
Ten moons ago, I became a warrior early! ...
Forestfreckle's eyes shimmered with tears as she got to her most recent memory, and she let her gaze unfocus into the distance.
One moon ago, I lost my first apprentice. Fallowpaw had been taken by twolegs while she and Forestfreckle had been on a joint hunting patrol with Hawkheart and Dapplepaw by the Farmhouse. In the moment, Forestfreckle had gotten distracted while getting to know Hawkheart better, and she had not caught her young apprentice wandering off. Ever curious, and just as adventurous as her own mentor, Fallowpaw had been scoping out a young twoleg kit when a big twoleg had scooped her up and taken her away. There had been nothing the patrol could do to stop the nightmare from occuring, and Fallowpaw had not returned since. Since, Forestfreckle had kept her head by reasoning that maybe kittypet life wasn't so bad. After all, Fallowpaw would be fed and sheltered. She'd be warm and she'd be loved... unless she wasn't. It was these thoughts that kept Forestfreckle up at night, and as much as she had spent each morning of her life since her own ceremony processing her grief, she had spent each night since the loss of her apprentice following twolegs. She would follow them around the barn, around the farmhouse, and around the livestock pens, watching their every move and praying that they would lead her to Fallowpaw. They never did.
A voice calling from nearby snapped Forestfreckle back to the present and she smiled as Jamilah padded over.
"I heard you've been interested in what the twolegs are up to," Jamilah teased, "What are your findings then? I find them to be so curious."
"Good morning Jamilah!" Forestfreckle returned. She had not talked to Jamilah much since the she-cat had joined the clan, but now was a good of a day as any to be friendly and honest. "And you would be correct! I've always been interested in the twolegs'... way of life, but ever since they took Fallowpaw I just- well I can't help but feel that it's my responsibility to try and find her. I know it's not entirely my fault, but I just wish I had been paying more attention y'know? I've been trying to make up for it now by paying attention to the twoleg's habits. I hope that maybe, just maybe, they will lead me to Fallowpaw. No luck yet, but I do know the twolegs are early to fall asleep. They end their days just awhile after sunset. I would imagine that means they wake up earlier than myself!"
* Finds red berries on patrol with Auburncreek and stargazer
Later that day, Forestfreckle found herself on a border patrol with her sister and one of her newer clanmates, Stargazer. A patrol that was rather... prickly. Forestfreckle was aware of the tension that had been building between the two cats, but today it was palpable. The young warrior didn't share her sister's feelings about kittypets, however, so she was sure that she had been assigned to this patrol as some sort of... mediator. It was uncomfortable, but it made Forestfreckle feel useful at a time where she had been feeling rather useless. Perhaps she would be able to find something that they all had in common?
As the group padded through the marshes near Burdockclan, a bright flash of color caught Forestfreckle's attention and she veered to the right of the group. As she neared what had caught her eye, a cluster of bright red berries came into focus, clinging to the sides of a single, round-leaved bush. The berries were certainly familiar, but where had she seen them before?
"Hey guys, what are these?" Forestfreckle meowed, attempting to address both of the she-cats that she was with. Auburncreek was the first to investigate, and the bengal she-cat padded forward to place herself right next to Forestfreckle, cutting Stargazer out of the conversation. With a playful, yet painful jab, Auburncreek reminded Forestfreckle that the berries were called cranberries and that they were of use to the clan. She snapped some off, motioning for Forestfreckle to do the same.
In a gentler manner, Forestfreckle leaned into the bush and clasped her jaws around a branch, slowly twisting on it until it gave way. The berries were now hers to bring back to camp, their color glistening in the evening sun. As Stargazer grabbed her share, Forestfreckle set her branch down and meowed, "We should leave the rest. If we take them all, there won't be any seeds to regrow more bushes next year." Then the patrol headed back to camp.
As they padded along, Forestfreckle pondered the event, trying desperately to figure out where she had seen the berries before. Was there a reason she had been concerned about taking so many? She thought long and hard, and then it came to her. The other evening, she had watched twolegs gather the same berries! Except in that case, they had taken them all, leaving none for anyone or any animal else. It had angered Forestfreckle in the moment, but now it gave her an idea. She looked to Auburncreek, sliding the stick in her mouth to the side so that she could talk clearly.
"Do you think I was ready for an apprentice? I... I feel so irresponsible for losing her. Perhaps it would have been better if mother had given her to somecat else. She should have waited for me to mature... now Fallowpaw is out there... lost to the twolegs. I don't even know anything about twolegs. I think I'd have to have the mind of a kittypet to be able to find Fallowpaw now. I'd need to understand their habits." Forestfreckle hoped the two warriors would catch on to the conversation she was setting up. This was what they all had in common, the need to grow as warriors, accept responsibility, and work together to solve a problem. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: polarized (Auburncreek) 🎄tansypool🪿 (Fallowpaw) lemonshortbread (Jamilah) Dew (Stargazer)

Dogkit Sneaks out of camp with: Bugkit - deg
“Cmon Bugkit!”
Dogkit heaved herself over a rock, feeling uncharacteristically bold. This moon Blue had left the medicine den and went back to being a loner. The molly couldn't understand it- what was so much better than a clan cat? She had to find out, the need tingling in her paws she roped her sibling into sneaking out and finding out.
“We have so many people who stay” She continued, sliding down the other side of the rock “Wildclove, Jamilah- so many!” She cant understand why Blue would leave! Auburncreek is always on about how much better they are then outsiders- so shouldn't he have wanted to be the best? “Let's see what's the big deal about outside of camp!” She smiled at Bugkit
The duo came across a river, water flowing by. Dogkit hesitates, the fast paced rush of the water in her ears making her pause “I don't think this is the way” the molly looks back to her sister.

Lilacshade with Duskfeather, Rindlestripe, Bumblepaw, Blazepaw and Marshpaw Lilacshade nodded absentmindedly to Duskfeather as the deputy brought up the idea of holding a large hunting session for training the apprentices. Not that she didn’t care… but her mind was on other things right now. Other cats. She still hadn’t gotten the chance to talk to Amberdapple about her dreams about the Dark Forest. And she just wanted to spend more time with her. But today was not the day. She turned to collect Bumblepaw. A good mentor didn’t spend her time mooning over the medicine cat.
The senior warrior followed Duskfeather out, a truly large patrol behind her. Rindlestripe had joined, and all three of them had brought their apprentices. Walking into the forest, Lilacshade went over hunting techniques in her mind. Blazepaw… Always eager. Maybe a little too eager. I’ll tell him to make sure he keeps his hunting partners in mind this time. She was thinking about how to do this before a rat darted out of the bushes. Lilacshade reared back from the little creature, aware of its ability to spread deadly illness before she ran forward, hissing furiously to deter it from attacking any of the apprentices. Duskfeather joined in, knocking the rat down in quick succession.
The deputy began a short lecture about how dangerous rat-bite diseases could be while she checked the body of the rat for signs of sickness, finding none. “And if it’s safe to eat like this one… Well, that’s how you can hunt as a team. Let’s bury this, and it’ll make a fine addition to the fresh-kill pile.” She dropped the fresh-kill in front of Bumblepaw, hoping the young apprentice would take the hint and know how to bury it properly. Not all of hunting was pouncing, after all.

Golddusk- Patrol with Bristlepaw, Hatchhusk and Amberdapple Golddusk walked with the patrol. The sky was overcast this afternoon, bringing with it the promise of rain. Golddusk hopes that it doesn’t rain soon. It would had made the patrol a lot more difficult to deal with had it started raining while they were still out on patrol. He and Bristlepaw were asked by the medicine cat, Amberdapple, to come along with her and Hatchhusk to help find some herbs before the arrival of leafbare. He listened to Amberdapple as he was told what to do and what herbs he should be collecting. He nodded his head when he and Bristlepaw were directed to go and collect some goldenrods. Golddusk begins the task of collecting the herbs with his apprentice helping him. It may not be usually the job of warriors to collect herbs but he didn’t mind. He did help collect some herbs with Jamilah in the past after all. It may not be what he’s used to doing but at least helping to collect these herbs will eventually help the clan in the future. stormshade1 asrise

PUMPKINPAW [ Training Buddy. ] " Who cares! What...ever we got we share! " (Consider Yourself from Oliver!)
Pumpkinpaw was sick of being injured.
So? She decided to get into shape again!
Pumpkinpaw stood up and began doing some leg exercises around the medicine den, with the medicine cats keeping an eye on her so she doesn't break her leg again. She wanted to get out of this StarClan forsaken den an-
...
Did Fawnstar just assign her mentor to Dogpaw?
...
Dream come true. Once Pumpkinpaw gets out of this den, she'll get to train with her! Exciting! But another thing crossed her mind... Bugkit. Or... no. Bugpaw. The 6-moon-old kit had died from kittencough the other night which hurt Pumpkinpaw mentally. For StarClan's sake, what is wrong with life? She loved to quiz herself in front of Bugpaw, just to entertain her. She felt like crying.
And she did.
***
...
Pumpkinpaw proceeded to have a small chat with Dogpaw before turning to Feathersong, lightly stepping whilst her leg was wrapped. Feathersong didn't seem very happy today. "Hey... Feathersong... you good?"
[ OOC - Brownie This is normal for Wildclove to mentor two apprentices at once?]

PHEASANTPAW [ Hunting Challenge ] " Who will buy, this wonderful morning? Such a sky... you never did see. " (Who Will Buy? from Oliver!)
Pheasantpaw got up, expecting the typical whitecough things.
...
Wait... what? Why wasn't she coughing? Was it over? After bidding farewell to Leopardcry, Pheasantpaw began to make her way out, and leapt up into the air before rolling around. She got up and groomed her fur quickly before deciding to do a few tasks real quick.
She began to go to the elder's den to change up the nests, went to go adjust the decorations around the nursery (and adding thorns to Tansykit's nest but WE DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!), and finally was called onto hunting patrol.
A real hunting patrol! With other cats!
She looked up at Duskfeather, smiling before following her mentor, Cloverfur. Pheasantpaw was beginning to see Cloverfur as her full father figure, even though she only chatted with him rarely. Pheasantpaw looked up. "Hey dad- uh... I mean Cloverfur..." she slipped up while saying that. "I stuck thorns in Tansykit's nest and I don't know what to do? Can you cover for me? [...] Thanks."
Pheasantpaw's eyes lit up when Duskfeather talked about a hunting contest. She was going up against her foster sibling, and her real sibling. Sick. Pheasantpaw nudged Cloverfur. "Dude... Pumpkinpaw told me about this spot where the best prey can be found! Come on!"
***
Pheasantpaw popped up from the bush, staring at a pheasant. How funny. "...Bingo." Pheasantpaw muttered. Pheasantpaw slowly crept up to the pheasant, before leaping forward quickly like a dart, and killing it instantly with a killing bite. However, she struggled to carry it, so she got Cloverfur to help her.
***
Once they returned, Pheasantpaw couldn't help but giggle at everyone's reactions to her and Cloverfur's catch. Once Duskfeather declared them the winners. Pheasantpaw looked up at Cloverfur. "We won Cloverfur! ... Or rather, we won, dad!" Pheasantpaw replied.
[ OOC - I MADE IT MORE WHOLESOME. I made Pheasantpaw slip up by calling Cloverfur dad, but then say dad again later on. " (It's A Fine Life from Oliver!)
Storkleg just can't get over Forestfreckle's skillfullness.
Genuinely. Like, how is this cat so talented? Recently she helped her when she was worrying about her not being enough, stating: "You kidding? You've done so much for us! I believe you're worth it. Even while not having an apprentice."
Storkleg had asked other cats agreed, and the apprentices appreciated it the most. Especially Bumblepaw, who spoke out about agreeing with her, and Dogpaw nodding.
I think I'm gonna stay here.
As long as I can.

Bumblepaw Event:Fox The soft morning light shown on his pelt as they stalked the fox scent. He felt more excited than ever, this was the first time he'd ever seen a fox that he'd remembered. As the fox came in view he barley listened to his mentors warning, instead, he barreled ahead quickly followed by the others. He lunged at the fox gripping onto its back with his paws and biting down ripping off a chunk of amber fur, the fox yiped swiping his soft golden pelt. Bumblepaw hissed biting at the fox paw he looked up seeing Rindlstripe and Blazepaw scratching at its flank while Fawnstar and Lilacshade ripped at its back and shoulders, Bumblepaw felt a throbbing pain in his shoulder and felt thos warm drip of blood go down his forearm. When the battle had ended all their paws had blood on them and some eve had blood on their jaws, the fox's dead body sat in front of them.

Fawnstar »
Leaf-bare was on its way, and with it came harsh weather, scarce prey, and deadly sickness. PlumClan had no room for error in these next few moons, and they especially had no room for predators rooting about within their borders. This was the second fox in two moons that Fawnstar had come across, and she wasn’t pleased about that. Her patrols had reported the fox’s scent hanging about in a specific area right on the edge of the woodland and the farmland. Most likely the fox was after the farmer’s chickens and smaller livestock, but even if the canine was made plump enough on a chicken diet, that didn’t mean it wouldn’t sneak around for PlumClan mice if given the chance. Fawnstar wanted to stop this potential threat before it could get even worse, which was why she had gathered a large patrol for herself today. She expected to chase the fox out and give it a reason to never come back, but what she didn’t expect was for one of the apprentices on her patrol to take the lead and charge the fox the moment the cats located it.
Before the leader could even call out Bumblepaw’s name, the young ginger tom was grappled atop the fox, the canine already jumping and bucking, crow hopping along the ground. Please hold on! Fawnstar quickly prayed to StarClan as she turned to the two warriors on patrol with her. ”Rindlestripe, Lilacshade, Blazepaw, circle around the fox. Beechpaw,” she turned to her apprentice, unwilling to let another ‘paw get right into the face of danger, ”stay back and keep watch.” The yowling ahead of her kept her from explaining any further - she would have loved to teach her apprentice the importance of having a guard during any battle, but that could wait. Fawnstar unsheathed her claws and rushed into the fray.
Between Bumblepaw, Rindlestripe, Blazepaw, and Lilacshade, the fox didn’t stand a chance. Plump and old, the PlumClan cats were able to quickly end the battle - a well aimed killing blow was all it took for the fox to stagger and fall, succumbing to its grievous wounds. Fox blood stained Fawnstar’s tortoiseshell pelt. She stepped back, taking in deep breaths of air as she glanced around. Blue eyes lay upon the motionless corpse before she scanned the area, counting all four of her patrolmates. Fawnstar motioned for Beechpaw to join them. ”Great job, all of you.” Briefly did she turn a stare toward Bumblepaw. Should she scold the tom for his rash actions or let this go? He had not been hurt, and with the fox dead and no cat injured it was clear that no harm had come about this attack, but even still… Fawnstar thought back to the Clan’s newest warrior Kiteprickle, wondering if naming warriors early was a good idea or not. One more moon could have offered the young molly a chance to mature and grow, but Kiteprickle had shown an incredible talent for what made a cat a true warrior. StarClan had not objected to the molly’s promotion and neither had the Clan, so perhaps these worries were obsolete.
Fawnstar rolled her shoulders, wincing inwardly as drying blood pulled at her fur. ”We should head back to camp, but be on the lookout for any more fox signs on the way back. Only StarClan knows if we have a true infestation or not…” She hoped not, but life always had a way of making things interesting for better or for worse.

Dogkit
Warrior Ceremony
Dogkit- now ‘paw- knew she should be excited. The whole clan was watching her receive her name and become an apprentice- but she couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't right. For one, a certain coat wasn't sitting beside her. Dogpaw bit her lip, Bugpaw should be here too, not named after her sister had succumbed to the kittencough. Dogpaw knows it was up to Starclan, but she can't help but feel like it's her fault for sneaking out of camp in the first place. She hopes shes safe in Starclans paws- even if it isn't fair. Another reason her naming ceremony was strange was her mentor. She had nothing against Wildclove- no she was extremely excited to be his apprentice- able to learn so much more from a cat who didn't spend their whole lives in Plumclan. But as he was named she saw him frantically glance over at Pumpkinpaw- lucky her, …apprentice littermate? If they have the same mentor…yeah apprentice littermate, didn't seem too fussed over in the med den. Maybe when she heals they can be ‘paws together! She touches noses with her new mentor- Wildcloves eyes shining even with the circumstances. He boops her nose and sweeps down to lick her cheek- sensing her discomfort “Its aight lil one” he murmurs quickly “Just keep dat head up” Dogpaw giggles- she thinks his accent is kinda funny. After the ceremony he flicks his tail at her- ready to go out on her first hunting patrol!
Wildclove
Hunting with Dogpaw - me Mentions: Pumpkinpaw - boragesky
Wildclove didn't know what to think.
A new apprentice, only moon after Pumpkinpaw was injured. Dogpaw was enthusiastic, her near jumping on her paws in a rush to bump noses, anxiety coring through her. He was glad the molly seemed to be in good spirits about it- he’d seen her stretching her leg and doing exercises. But Fawnstar giving him two apprentices? The former kittypet flicked his ear as he led on, he wasn't sure he was up to it really. Not with the dirty look he got from Auburncreek.
“Wildclove look!” He whipped himself from his thoughts with Dogpaws shout. She had dropped into a clumsy hunters crouch- slowly creeping forward. He looked at where she was heading and started. As she leaped he grabbed her by the scruff and moved between her and her prey. She squawked and tumbled back. “Hey! That could have fed the clan!” She huffed as they watched the fat rabbit flee though the undergrowth.
“Not ‘hat one” Wildclove mewed, smoothing her puffed out coat with his tail. “‘hat's the Twolegs rabbit, its breakin’ our warrior code to hunt it- the Twolegs love their creatures and they’d get angry with us.” Dogpaw screwed up her nose, thinking “Just our warrior code?” Wildclove nodded “Plumclan is the closest to the Twolegs, at least in the barn, we don’ bother them and they don' bother us” Most of the time- he winced.
His charge nods understanding blooming in her shuffling paws “I didn't mean to- “ She huffs, ears pinned “Break the code on my first day out” Wildclove blinks- then laughs, curling his tail around Dogpaws shoulders “Lets see if we can grounge up somethin’ huh? Huntin not ‘round the Twolegs” He stands and leads her away- looking forward to bringing something ‘legal’ back
OOC: hehehe different fontsssss different colours and new sprite! Dogpaw hears Wildcloves accent differently

Hatchhusk Hatchhusk puttered around the medicine den, sorting herbs. He knew the names of all of them now, what they did, where to find them. But to most cats, they were nothing more than bitter scraps he forced down their mouths when they were sick. Looking at the supply, Hatchhusk hummed when he saw what was missing. They still needed to stock up on horsetail before leaf-bare was upon them, even after the large herb gathering patrol Amberdapple had led earlier.
The medicine cat looked around at the warriors in camp, picking out Auburncreek, who was one of the few cats not already busy with mentorship. So he led her into the forest, his mind focused squarely on finding horsetail before the frosts came. Every so often, Auburncreek would suddenly make a remark, or ask a question she should have known the answer to. Hatchhusk brushed her off with a ‘hmm’ or a ‘huh’ each time, but by the third, it was starting to get on his nerves. I’m trying to do my job, for StarClan’s sake!
Finally, he turned back and hissed at her. “Stars above, it’s not the time for talking, in case you couldn’t tell! I’m trying to find horsetail, and you’re not helping much!” As soon as the words tumbled out of his mouth, he knew he had made a mistake. No one argued with Auburncreek and got out without hearing an earful from her. We’re not going to find anything at all on this patrol, are we…

Cloverfur Hunting Patrol || with Duskfeather, Golddusk, Marshpaw, Bristlepaw, Pheasantpaw Cloverfur had gotten up a few days ago, only to find that his sparin was healed and that he was good to go. He had spent the last few days visiting Leopardcry, Pumpkinpaw, and Pheasantpaw in between his patrols, trying to lighten their spirits. It had worked Cloverfur had thought, and while Leopardcry and Pumpkinpaw were still in the medicine den, Pheasantpaw had recovered last night. They were to go on their first patrol together today.
Heading to the apprentice den, Cloverfur stuck his head inside. Pheasantpaw wasn't there! Turning he saw his apprentice exit from the elders den, and he padded over to her, smiling. "Hey dad- uh... I mean Cloverfur..."I stuck thorns in Tansykit's nest and I don't know what to do? Can you cover for me? Thanks."
Dad? Cloverfur's heart warmed at Pheasantpaw's mistake, his eyes rounding as he looked down at her. Did she really see him as a father figure? Thinking back on what she had said, Cloverfur nodded. "Sure. Just don't do it again, kits are just kits and we don't want them getting hurt."
They then padded over to the patrol, Duskfeather informing them they were to do a sort of competition today. Whoever caught the most prey wins! What an exciting thing to do with his apprentice on her first day out in a few moons. They traveled into Plumclan territory or a bit to get away from the other mentor-apprentice pairs to talk about what they were planning to do.
"Dude... Pumpkinpaw told me about this spot where the best prey can be found! Come on!" Pheasntpaw led the way, Cloverfur staying close behind. This could work well. A warrior needed to be able to take charge, to be able to lead the way. That was what Pheasantpaw was doing now.
She led them to an area that was known to be prey rich, especially this time of year. Cloverfur found and caught two mice and a vole before Pheasantpaw spotted the Pheasant, the large bird pecking at the ground a few fox-lengths away.
Making his way to the other side of the Pheasant, Cloverfur nodded to Pheasantpaw, and they both crept forward, Cloverfur letting Pheasantpaw get the kill. It was large and was sure to feed at least three cats, maybe four, and was great for this time of year, especially with the frost coming in early.
Making their way back to where they said they were going to meet up, it took Cloverfur and Pheasantpaw to carry the pheasant back, Cloverfur supporting it on his shoulder as he carried his own catches back.
When every cat had finished it was clear that they had brought back the most prey, with Duskfeather declaring them the winners. Cloverfur turned to Pheasantpaw and smiled. "Great job catching that pheasant! It'll feed the clan tonight!"
"We won Cloverfur! ... Or rather, we won, dad!" Pheasantpaw had called him dad, again! There was nothing more that he wanted to be, just the dad to his kits. All eight of them. [[ OOC here ]]

Auburncreek Herb Patrol {--} with Hatchhusk She was surprised when Hatchhusk had singled her out in camp. She flicked her ears at him, before nodding. Not many times did the feisty molly be invited on herb patrols with the healers. She knew she had quite a wide reputation with them. After all, there was only one important role in the clan. Warriors. Medicine cats were just there to support them. What use was a cat that couldn’t fight? She shrugged, then followed Hatchhusk into the forest. She had a few things to get off her chest of course, a clanborn like Hatchhusk would understand. Even if he was a medicine cat.
“So many rogues in the clan these days,” She glared at Hatchhusk. “You would think Plumclan is getting weaker by the moon.” When she was just replied with a ‘hm,’ she growled. She took a deep breath then started again.
“I mean, Wildclove as a mentor? Again?! You’ve got to be kidding me. What is Fawnstar thinking? She’s got to have gone mad.” She hissed, before being replied with a distant ‘huh,’
She hissed, then saw Hatchhusk speak first. “Stars above, it’s not the time for talking, in case you couldn’t tell! I’m trying to find horsetail, and you’re not helping much!” The tom spat at her. Auburncreek’s fur bristled. “Your telling me im not helping much?” She hissed, her copper gaze burning deep into his face. “Says the Warrior turned Medicine cat! All you do is mope around all day, nonetheless how useless you’ve been since Leopardcry denied you.” She let out a final growl, then stalked back, before mumbling under her breath.
“Now I see why she did it.”

Larchpaw Bugpaw’s Vigil & Apprentice Ceremony {--} with Dogpaw Larchkit was confused. How did this happen? He sat all night, unmoving. He stared at Bugkit’s body. She’s… dead? Why? It didn’t make any sense. She was just pranking again. Bugkit liked to prank allll the time. This was just another one. She would wake up. Larchkit knew she would.
She didn’t.
Larchkit looked up, this time at Fawnstar. His last sister sat beside him, Dogkit. They were going to be apprentices. Like it mattered. Bugkit wasn’t here. He had to get over it. He had to rise to the challenge, and become a warrior in Bugkit’s presence.
“I do.”
He was apprenticed to Forestfreckle. Not his first pick, no, but it was a fine pick overall. He touched noses with Forestfreckle, purring. If only Bugkit could see him now. No, Bugpaw. She deserved to earn that apprentice name. Tags Larchpaw Patrol {--} with Forestfreckle Larchpaw was excited. He couldn’t wait! His first patrol. He followed Forestfreckle, the warrior was like him, in a way. The coat, he meant. Dark red and orange fur. “Crouch low,” He reminded himself. Forestfreckle had taught him this earlier. “Tail off the ground.” He meowed. “Paws silent.” He moved his paws slowly, making sure not to make a sound. His tail was off the ground, and he was crouched low. Everything had to be perfect. His cyan eyes caught on a lizard. He wiggled his haunches, then leaped. He pounced onto the tiny lizard, easily catching it in his claws. He held it up in his mouth to Forestfreckle.
“My first catch!” He purred, his tail high. He made sure to walk pridefully in his steps back to camp, his head somehow higher than his self-esteem. Wait until Dogpaw saw this!

Hatchhusk “Now I understand why she did it.”
Hatchhusk recoiled from Auburncreek’s harsh rebuke, hurt shining in his blue-yellow eyes. Her words slashed right into his heart, opening wounds just barely healed. “I-I’m not useless!” He sputtered out, his mew cracking awkwardly as he turned, looking away from the younger warrior. “Look… Let’s just drop this, okay?” The medicine cat mumbled softly, picking at the undergrowth to find the precious herbs, eventually finding a small patch in the cold, damp underbrush.
So Hatchhusk tried to ignore Auburncreek as he got to picking horsetail himself. But her voice continued to ring out in his head. “Mope around all day… useless since Leopardcry denied you…" He grimaced, furiously picking at the herb. Does everyone think that? I bet everyone thinks I’m as useless as Auburncreek does… Everyone probably still thinks of me as a mopey little kit... As they returned to camp, both grumbling, Hatchhusk thought of Amberdapple and Jamilah, of Lilacshade and his littermates. Do they all think of me like that?

Duststep Is disappointed Hatchhusk might not like her back (--rom)
As she sat near Plumclan's prey pile gnawing halfheartedly at a mouse, Duststep couldn't resist stealing occasional glances towards the medicine den, hoping Hatchhusk would come out. She had always enjoyed the medicine cat's company, but lately had found herself feeling a different way towards him as well. But it would never work out, she had to admit to herself. It would go the way it always went when she had a fleeting crush on one of her clanmates; she would make any excuse to spend time around them, laugh at the jokes they made, try to sit a bit closer without making them uncomfortable, but as time passed without her confessing anything it would go nowhere. But that was just it; she would never, for the life of her, be able to work up the courage to articulate her feelings in such a vulnerable way. What if he said no? I could never look him in the eyes again, but I still have to see him every day. It was getting harder to believe that she would ever fall in love, at least with someone who felt the same way. Besides, Hatchhusk was different; he was a medicine cat. Even if he did feel the same towards her, he could never do anything about it. So there was nothing she could do about her unrequited feelings other than dream about things working out differently and cry aloud during her solitary walks through the orchard. Shaking her head to dispel the tears welling up in her eyes, she stared down at her half-eaten mouse before batting it away. I'm not hungry anymore. Tansykit Is hiding from the apprentices | Talked with Cloverfur and Blizzardwing | Complains Quickshade is too old to play with him
Tiny paws scrambling as fast as they could, Tansykit dashed away from the apprentices' den to hide behind Cloverfur and Blizzardwing sitting across camp. "Promise you won't tell," he giggled, "but I messed up all the bedding in the apprentices' den. I know one of them put thorns in my nest while they were supposed to be cleaning it, I just know it! But I don't know who it is, so I just threw all the moss in there around. It's like one big mossball now, you should see it! Besides, it's more fun than playing with boring old Quickshade." Purring proudly, he peeked out from behind the two at the entrance of the den to see if anyone else had noticed yet before quickly darting back with all the stealth a chubby uncoordinated kit could muster. "Stay still so I can hide behind you, okay? I don't want them to know it was me."

Kiteprickle ~ camp/on patrol ~ Feathersong, Stargazer, Daisytuft ~ (lazzylake, Fawn, dewbranch)
Kiteprickle was practically bouncing around camp all moon as as the early riser she is and now being a warrior, she had woken up early everyday the past moon and she had been taking advantage of every minute of being an energetic young warrior, this morning she got up as one of the first in her den and she was now finishing up her mouse in the camp clearing. Grumbling as she trudged to listen for patrols, she second guessed how great waking up early was. As Duskfeather proposed the patrols she nodded walking over to Daisytuft and the others, she wasn't too close with any of them but she had always wondered about Strgazer's name. What happens if she becomes leader? Starstar Kiteprickle almost snorted out loud until her thoughts were interrupted by the patrol calling her name. She snapped out of her daze, now embarrassed which just angered her more. trotting out of camp the patrol made their way to the edge of their territory, now settling down, Kite saw the nice day in a different way and even got enough into a good mood that she had a pretty good time on patrol. She took part into some of the conversations and jokes and as they made their way back to camp the large group of cats had gotten in time to mark both borders in time for about sun-high.

On a big patrol Marshpaw was with 2 other apprentices and her dad, mentor and golddusk. “Come come we must do our best! We are against my father! Duskfeather” they go and hunt together. In total they two hunted 5 pieces of prey. But when they got back to the group Pheasantpaw and cloverfur had like 8 peices. Marshpaw heard pheasantpaw call Cloverfur ‘dad’ it made her feel like Pheasantpaw was actually his daughter. On the way back to camp Marshpaw asked Duskfeather “does Pheasantpaw not see me as their sister?”. Tags: chocolatemilk7 , Dew , stonekeeper , boragesky

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Worries she isn't contributing enough * Responds to Storkleg's peptalk * Is given Larchpaw to mentor Flexing her claws nervously, Forestfreckle let out an audible sigh. She had been on the dawn patrol this morning, and had not had a moment to herself since. She had not had time on her rock, and now, with Fawnstar mentioning something about a clan meeting later, she would not have time to look for Fallowpaw. The young apprentice had been missing for two moons now, and Forestfreckle had yet to even catch so much as a whiff of her scent. Forestfreckle wasn't doing enough. She needed to work harder, do more for her clan. What good was she if she couldn't find the apprentice that she had lost? The multicolored she-cat was really starting to feel like Fallowpaw's kidnapping was her fault.
A moment or two later, Storkleg who was in camp nearby, asked Forestfreckle why she seemed so anxious. Looking up, Forestfreckle wrinkled her eyebrows and responded gloomily, "If I'm being honest Storkleg, I feel like I'm just not doing enough for my clan... I've been trying so hard to make up for loosing Fallowpaw, and I just can't seem to make it right."
"You kidding? You've done so much for us! I believe you're worth it. Even while not having an apprentice."
The snow white she-cat's words comforted Forestfreckle. She appreciated the praise, and smiled when some of the clan's apprentices joined in. Maybe she was a good clan-mate after all. She let the compliments fill her with happiness, and the feeling was soon replaced by excitement as Fawnstar called a clan meeting. It seemed that in light of the loss of Bugkit, it was time for Dogkit and Larchkit to become apprentices. Forestfreckle eagerly looked for her sister and spotted her across the camp. She flashed a grin, it was time! Auburncreek was going to get an apprentice!
The first apprentice called was Dogpaw, and the mentor Fawnstar gave was - Wait did I hear that right? WILDCLOVE? Forestfreckle sat upright with furrowed brows as the two touched noses. Wildclove already has an apprentice! Forestfreckle thought with frustration. How could one cat mentor two apprentices? Or was Pumpkinpaw losing her mentor just because she broke her leg? My mother can't be that cruel... what is going on?
Forestfreckle was jostled back to reality when her name was called, and she felt herself sit up even straighter, head back and face scrunched in a sort of confusion. Had Fawnstar just called her name? She had. Forestfreckle padded forward, awkwardly, feeling Auburncreek's gaze on her back. What was Fawnstar trying to do? Drive them all apart? Thanks to Storkleg, Forestfreckle was just starting to feel useful again, but she certainly didn't deserve a new apprentice right after Fallowpaw's catnapping! Hot with embarassment, guilt, and anger, Forestfreckle looked down to take in the appearance of her new apprentice and let out an audible squeak as she realized just how much he resembled her sister. He was a red bengal tabby known for being impulsive but honored for being charismatic. A perfect fit for her sister... or perhaps for her? Forestfreckle looked away, wanting to cry. Fawnstar knew Forestfreckle kept up well with her sister's personality, and it would make sense that she would be able to keep up with this kit's. It's not fair!
The she-cat stifled a breath and closed her eyes to touch noses with Larchpaw. What wouldn't be fair is taking away this moment from the young tom. This was his day, and she didn't need to ruin it just because of her own family drama. She would keep it together for him.
After their interaction, Forestfreckle laid her gray tail on Larchpaw's shoulder, sitting beside the young tom and avoiding all eye contact with her kin. She was ready for the ceremony to be over, but it seemed that Fawnstar had more to say. As Forestfreckle listened, her jaw dropped in horror as her mother finally addressed Pumpkinpaw's situation. Pumpkinpaw was going to be Auburncreek's new apprentice.
* Hunting with Larchpaw
Forestfreckle had taken her new apprentice out to hunt. The evening prior, she had given him a thorough tour of the territory. She had made sure that before they returned home, he was able to recognize all of Plumclan's major landmarks and find his way home on his own. She wanted to make sure he was prepared in case... in case he ended up taken and lost like Fallowpaw. They had stayed out late, and now, the next morning, she had him up early to hunt. If he was going to be her apprentice, he was going to be prepared for the worst.
As the training session passed, she taught him the hunter's crouch. She helped him to crouch lower, but not low enough to disturb the leaves with his body or his tail. Then she taught him how to walk, as silent as a leopard. To finish, she taught him a skill that she knew Auburncreek should be teaching, as Auburncreek was the one to teach it to her.
"Do you see these leaves in the ditch here? And how they're orange like your pelt and mine? You can use that to your advantage in leaf-fall. Our bengal patterns offer us a sort of camoflauge. Get low, move slow, blend in, and you'll make short work of you prey."
He caught on quick, and had a successful catch of a lizard before the training ended.
“My first catch!” Larchpaw proclaimed.
"You catch on fast! Good job today!" Forestfreckle felt weird directing her praise towards somecat other than Fallowpaw, but she was proud nonetheless.

Golddusk-Hunting patrol with Bristlepaw, Duskfeather, Marshpaw, Cloverfur, Pheasantpaw Golddusk’s ears perked up once he had heard that there will be a hunting challenge today. Lately, Bristlepaw hadn’t been listening to him and hadn’t been training as much as he had hoped. Maybe a hunting challenge would be a good way for her to keep her focus? He looked at his apprentice and notice how excited she looked. Hopefully this challenge will allow her to practice her hunting skills some more. Golddusk and Bristlepaw parted ways from the other mentors and apprentices when it was time for the contest to start. Bristlepaw was the first to start looking for some prey to catch. Golddusk looked around and then noticed a sparrow nearby. He started to sneak up to it and then he pounced onto it, catching it. By the contest’s end, Golddusk had brought back one bird and one squirrel. His apprentice had managed to bring back a mouse and a vole. Golddusk nodded his congratulations to Cloverfur and Pheasantpaw for winning the contest. That pheasant was sure to help to keep the clan well fed now that leafbare will be arriving soon! He turned to Bristlepaw and told her, “You did a great job catching those prey today.” He hoped that Bristlepaw didn’t feel too disappointed that she didn’t win the contest. chocolatemilk7 @dewbranch snowfall1 boragesky

PUMPKINPAW [ Auburncreek. ] " If it should chance to be we should see some harder days... empty larder days... why grouse? " (Consider Yourself from Oliver!)
Pumpkinpaw felt de-attached.
Fawnstar came in to tell her Wildclove was no longer her mentor, but rather Auburncreek. She was shocked. Stunned, even. She started crying after Fawnstar left.
The issue wasn't Auburncreek.
The issue was that Fawnstar had the GUTS to reassign her mentorship. Why? Fawnstar had to be off her rock! Why? What did Wildclove do? What did SHE do? Why was she reassigned? She loved being mentored by Wildclove! How could she...?
But on the other hand... Auburncreek had been suffering not having an apprentice in forever.
Is she happy about it?
Is she disappointed?
Does she resent Fawnstar?
She had to ask so many questions.

Bumblepaw ~small cut~
Bumblepaw left the medicine den a poultice and cobwebs wrapped the cut on his shoulder. "It probably won't leave a scar." Called one of the medicine cats as he walked out of the medicine den, he couldn't even remember who had wrapped his wound he had been tired out by the fight with the fox. No matter what anycat said; even if it was with a big patrol fighting a fox was tiring. He flopped down in his nest... before waking up a few minutes later and walking around camp waiting for things to do ______________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: I had not a lot of ideas what to do with him and there isn't much to do with Fallowpaw till next moon Tags: (I didn't specify who the med cat was, because each had something going on)
