Darktail rolled his eyes fondly, "If anything, I think I'd like to be deputy to a certain Midnightstar." he mewed as he led the way to their nest. Settling down on the outskirts of it so he could curl around her. ~ "Wow." Twilightkit breathed. It was hard to imagine his mother as a kit in his mind. He wondered if she played the same games he did. "Who was the leader before Lightningstar?" Blizzardstorm padded over to the wall of the camp, scooping up a pawful of leaves and scattering them in front of Lionkit to pounce on. "If you keep working hard, perhaps one day you will be. Lionstar is certainly a strong name." "That would have been Duskstar, but she didn't lead for very long before she disappeared." Squirreltail explained, not able to remember much about the time when Duskstar had led ThunderClan. "She came back many moons later though and lived the rest of her life as an elder here in camp. She had started going by the name Dusk and had dropped 'star from her name, so she was no longer a leader when she returned." Lionkit jumped after the scattered leaves before lifting his head proudly, "I would wanna make ThunderClan strong enough one day so that none of the other Clans would want to mess with us! Then you and mama would be safe!" He purred. Twilightkit frowned, "Where'd she go?" he asked with a tilt of his head. "That's weird to have a name like that!" Blizzardstorm touched his nose to Lionkit's head with a purr. "That's a great goal to have. You and your siblings, your mother and my kin. Their safety is all I ever wish for too. I'd give up everything for it. Keep your family close to your heart and you'll have the strength of Lionclan, Tigerclan and Leopardclan on your side."

Dawnpaw had stalked the bird a few paces, though he felt a flicker of disappointment as he realized that the bird was too high up in a tree to be able to catch. He felt his ears fall as a gentle sigh escaped him. He felt a bit frazzled, and a part of him wished he had just politely declined to hunt instead of acting like he was in his best at the moment. He turned away from the bird once it flew away into the sky, his tail dragging softly before he hid his nerves once again to offer Yewpaw a sheepish chuckle. "Ah... no luck on that one. It's long gone now." "It's okay, we can find another one" Yewpaw said. "Or we could go back, whatever you want" She added, just in case he was getting tired. Dawnpaw wanted to pretend like he could continue on, yet he felt a heavy weight in his chest. He was just too stuck in thought to be of use hunting now. Instead, he shook his head softly. “We should probably head back. I think, well, the sparring wore me out a bit.” He murmured.

Bluewhisker ranged away from the sandy hollow, sunlight rippling over her pelt as she padded along beneath the trees. Her jaws were parted slightly to draw in scent. She pushed through a swath of undergrowth, emerging into the small clearing beside the Owl Tree. Closer to the border with WindClan now, she pricked her ears and opened her mouth wider, her whiskers quivering as she caught the scent she was searching for. A few fox-lengths away, a rabbit was nibbling on some clover oblivious to the predator lurking so close by. Staying low, Bluewhisker crept closer, staying hidden behind fronds of fern and bracken. The rabbit started when her tail brushed a blade of tall grass, but it was too late. She pounced, giving it a quick nip to the neck to kill it quickly. "Thank you, StarClan, for this prey," she murmured. "Bluewhisker?" Dapplenight's soft voice called through the undergrowth, the tom's head poking out as he scented the older she-cat a few paces away. Once he scented the prey she had caught, his eyes widened with understanding. He glanced back at his hunting partner, though he could see that Snowdrop seemed distracted by something. He pushed further out towards Bluewhisker, complimenting her kindly. "That was a good catch. We happened to be patrolling around here and scented you." "Dapplenight," Bluewhisker greeted with a brief nod. "Rabbit hunting is best near the border," she explained. "Have you had any luck so far?"

Bluewhisker blinked calmly in response, flicking her ears at the two younger warriors. Feeling generous and in good spirits after the sparring session earlier, she twitched her whiskers. "Well done to both of you, then," she complimented lightly.

T-thanks, Bluewhisker. It wasn't all that impressive, just... The pigeon was kind of slow, really." "There he goes again, downplaying it." Snowdrop rolled her eyes with humor, before she nodded to Bluewhisker and purred. "Coming from you, that means alot. Speaking of, how did the training go? I heard you took Dawnpaw out with Yewpaw, that's very kind to do for Sunthroat."

"Any prey caught for the Clan is impressive," Bluewhisker said, her tone offering no room for disagreement. She turned towards Snowdrop to answer her questions. "Yewpaw is coming along well. Dawnpaw seems ready for his warrior assessment soon. I enjoy training apprentices, so it was no trouble," she meowed.

She loved him as a mentor though, she tells me often." He admitted. "It's a bit daunting, when your mentor's the leader or the deputy." Snowdrop admitted, remembering her time training with Lightningstar. Back then, she had always been so nervous of letting him down somehow. Yarrowcloud and Squirreltail were such skilled Warriors, and she had wanted to be an apprentice that Lightningstar could be proud of. "Sometimes the Clan assumes you have to be more talented to have that apprenticeship, but... I can tell you, that I was the worst fighter out of my siblings..." Her voice grew quiet as she thought of her littermates, all gone now. Cometblaze in Skyclan, Shadeclaw banished to Starclan knows where, and Glassflower burned away in the fire. She missed them all, achingly.

Chestnutfur nodded slowly as she listened to the older warrior talk, the words starting to make sense to her. "My siblings are all unique in their own way, and I'm happy to see all of them flourishing within the Clan." She mewed, starting to walk again in search of more prey for them to catch. "I just wish there was a way that I could help my father more with what he's going through." “Mm.” Hickoryshade hummed, her eyes flashing with thought as she admitted. “His case is… well, l’ve never seen it before. To be able to kill Yarrowcloud in his sleep, and Silentflare having to see it. I can only imagine how much that must have affected him. I always assumed that Silentflare wanted nothing to do with his brother. I guess I was wrong, based on his response to it.” She admitted lightly. Chestnutfur sighed as she paused in her search for prey, not having picked up any new scents just yet. "I know their relationship was complicated, but Silentflare did care for Yarrowcloud in his own way. It didn't seem like it with how much they argued, but the were still siblings." She mewed.

"Most of the cats that live in the Twolegplace go by strange names, they don't carry a warrior name like we do." Lionkit nodded, growing serious for once, "I promise to be the best warrior I can be! That way you won't ever have to worry about Mama or Tansykit and Twilightkit's safety!" He mewed, looking up at his father with a smile.

"To have your older siblings be the target of such controversy too. I hope you know that I don't see you for anyone's actions but your own."

Every one of her Clanmates knew how ferocious she was in a fight, but not all of them knew the distaste she had for battle. "You cannot feed your Clan with claw-strikes. Every warrior is strong in different ways. Hunting, fighting, building, kit-rearing; these are all important. Acorntail taught me this well, all those seasons ago," she reminisced about her mentor, thinking of the days that seemed a lifetime in the past, when she was much younger.

Dapplenight scrambled to follow after Bluwhisker, grateful to be given the excuse to go back to camp.

It was Lightningstar's decision to let her come back though, by the time she returned, she was at the age of an elder." She explained. Lionkit giggled when Blizzardstorm scooped him up and snuggled down into his father's soft belly fur, "You're heart must be really big then. That's a good thing, right?" He asked, tilting his head as he looked at his father.

Echo was sitting up in her nest in the medicine den, having just woken up. She glanced around the den briefly before starting to groom her fur, wondering if she would be allowed to leave the den for a bit or not. She hadn't seen Shardfury since she had been brought into the camp by his patrol, and had hoped that she would have a chance to speak with her brother privately for a bit. Echo shook her head, figuring that Shardfury might just be busy with his Clan duties.

"Maybe. But I think we should come clean eh? Who knows, maybe some of the prey even ran over into Shadowclan territory. They should know" But he didn't even know if he believed his words. How would the other clans react? "Well, let's just hope this Dark Forest drama doesn't become Adderclan 2.0" Bramblefur shivered. How many cats would die if that happened? Who would he lose?
