(*Drops in a dying Lavendersky*)
When did the world become so empty? Well, I have never seen the world before, but it still had so much life to it, even without being able to see it. The darkness has become lonely recently, the camp dimmer. If I had to guess, I had noticed it was harder to navigate recently, sounds were muffled. Maybe that is why, I have started to lose my hearing... And recently my bones have not wanted me to move either. When was the last time I really stood up actually? I've lost track of time... Lavendersky laid in her nest near the back of the medicine den, her paws stretched in front of her while she was on her side. There wasn't a twitch of her tail, only the slight rise and fall of her chest. She had not left her nest in some time now, age having come and hit her like a swirling wind storm. She knew, painfully knew that her time was near. Her fur unkempt, signs of weight loss apparent from ribs lined on her side. She had heard the news about Spiritstar, and mourned that she could not leave her nest anymore, mourned for her adopted sister who had lived a difficult life. I only hope she is happy now in Starclan, or maybe her beliefs had wavered and she has found another place to go... The kittypets probably have some place they believe in. If that is the case, then so be it, as long as she is finally happy... Ugh, I need to get these old bones moving, do something... She grumbled to herself, trying to pull herself up, but she barely managed to lift her own head with what strength she had.

“Come on, Hawkpaw!” Emberpaw exclaimed, tugging at her sister to get close to Quickwing. They were going on this search patrol, no matter what!
Now that there seemed to be a solid plan, there was instantly a lull in the loud panic. Poppyclaw’s anger receded into a faint look of respect for Quickwing’s swift response to want to lead the patrol. She had saved Spiritstar once, he had confidence that she could pull this off too.
“Snowtalon.” Tricklefrost nodded to the tom. “Go with them. This is your chance to try and find your brother. We’ll hold down the Camp. We have to find him.” She urged.
Plumwillow looked at Quickwing with warm eyes, inspired by her quick action. Starclan, she was so brave! She felt herself falling even deeper for her. She mewed softly. “Come back safe, okay? I really, really can’t lose you too, okay? And… when you come back, we’ll finish the talk we started, okay?” She promised softly.

Sparrowstrike couldn't help but chuckle,"The clan will not be without a leader for long. You will get your name when the time is right. I know you and your siblings have been training hard but I don't think you are finished with your training just yet."
"I will be. Springpaw and Flyingpaw they aren't taking our training seriously enough! I will leave them in the dust if they do not start paying more attention in our lessons. What will they do then when the threat comes to our clan? They will cower behind me in fear." Twigpaw murmured, looking over at how teary Springpaw was with disgust.

Basilpaw skidded to a halt before her, before he gave a guilty look. “The cat that I couldn’t tell you about, it was Spiritstar. When I overheard her threatening Lavendersky in the medicine den, she told me that if I told anyone, she would make sure that Starclan never accepted you, that you and all of us would go to the Dark Forest because Goldfire went there…” He explained quietly. “But… Spiderbite told me that Starclan wouldn’t do that, that the Dark Forest can’t take us if we don’t lose faith.” He blinked, assured. “Spiritstar didn’t sound like herself at all, like someone else was there. I know it sounds crazy, but…” He swallowed, eyes closing. “I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you.” Wingpaw was startled by Springpaw’s assurance and determination, his eyes averting to the side as he shook his head lightly. “How could they have just fallen off? Why go so close to the ledge, if not having been pushed off?” He seemed to calm down, not wanting to upset her. “It just… it doesn’t make sense!” Shadespots took a moment to let the news wash over her. Goldfire was in the dark forest. She knew deep in her heart that's where he would end up, but hearing the words said aloud made it real. "Spiritstar is the one who threatened you? Starclan.... I'm so sorry Basilpaw. You must have been terrified. Did it sound like her voice? Or like someone was talking through her?" Springpaw whimpered quietly with a shake of her head. "It doesn't you're right. That's why we must be missing something! If some cat told you that they had seen me kill my father would you believe them?" Springpaw's eyes flicked up to meet Wingpaw's suddenly looking unsure. "You wouldn't... right?" “It was her voice but it just… sounded different. Angry and cold, like she’d always talked like that. She almost looked like she would laugh at me when I stammered.” Basilpaw described softly, shame in his eyes. “I wish I wasn’t so weak. I shouldn’t be scared of anyone…” He whispered. “I… of course not! You never would!” Wingpaw exclaimed, before he realized what she was implying. He shuffled his paws, looking unsure. “How can we tell what really happened if Quickwing and Plumwillow only saw the part they fell? And if Warblerwind is gone…” He trailed off, the realization saddening. Warblerwind had been such a good friend. Why had it all changed so suddenly?

“They did. Either too hungry for power or too vulnerable and young to realize they were fighting for all the wrong reasons.” Cloudberry admitted solemnly, thinking of the cats in the Clan that supported Robinstar and Adderstar without hesitation. She thought of Leafshade and her sons, the toms dying in the battle with Thunderclan, influenced by their mother’s thirst for power and loyalty to Robinstar. She shook her head with shame. Clovertail could tell that Cloudberry wasn't feeling the best right now, but she didn't comment on it. All of the sudden, cats were excaliming out loud, comments hushed and outspocken. "Spirtstar's dead!" Clovertail jumped to her paws, and she finally saw her. The body of her leader - the only leader she had ever known. "Spirtstar!" Clovertail has mad now, her eyes transfixed on the two cats that had lost their lives this evening. It all happened to fast, and Clovertail hadn't been paying much attention, but now Nettlesting was leaving! Cloudberry was talking about that earlier. Now she seemed to deflate, her tail lowering and her ears flatting on her head. I wonder how Cloudberry must feel. She looked at Cloudberry, but couldn't quite read the expression on the older molly's face. Cloudberry sat devastated where she had faced her son, the realization that he was gone and their last words had been so cold making her eyes well up. She stumbled into a seated position again, before her shoulders slumped and a shaky breath escaped her. She could feel Clovertail’s eyes on her, but she didn’t know if she could speak then.

(Long story short, Silvercloud died in Twolegplace, Spiritstar and Warblerwind fell from Jagged Drop and Spiritstar lost her 9th life, and now the Clan has no leader or deputy. Also, Lavendersky will be passing away soon. So, loooooots of plot ahaha. If you like, Acepaw can react to the events or other characters, I got cats open, like Wildstorm!)

(Oh, Lavendersky ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/RCFqazfvhbMAeE5hIhD3.gif) ) Spiderbite breathed a little easier. Now that the Clan had a task, emotions appeared to be calming down. He looked to Plumwillow. "I have to tell Lavendersky what happened, but we should start the vigil. Lichengaze won't be able to bury Silvercloud and Spiritstar alone, so when dawn comes, I'll help him." Spiderbite didn't give anyone a chance to say another word to him, he hurried into the medicine den to check on Lavendersky. He hoped she didn't take Spiritstar's death too hard. "Lavendersky?" he called softly, peeking around the lichen curtain that hid her nest. "Are you alright? I...I have some news..." Flyingpaw lifted her gaze to Skystar Tree at the top of the cliff. "I'm going to be the youngest to ever climb all the way to the top of Skystar tree, I swear it. Then, I'll earn my warrior name." Splashecho tilted her head at her son's words. She hadn't noticed Springpaw or Flyingpaw falling behind, but she hadn't attended the last couple sessions to keep suspicions down. "I'll talk to your sisters. They should know better than to slack off in training."

Lavendersky turned her head, an ear twitching at the sound of a voice. She had to focus to hear it, vaguely recognizing the tone as Spiderbite. With a lot of effort, she managed to shift so she laid more on her belly, her old legs shaking. "Spiritstar is gone... is that what you wish to tell this old bag of bones?" She asked, trying to keep her voice as strong as possible, but it was much quieter than normal. She had faced down Robinstar in her conquest, dodged sight to take her brother to safety, trained numerous apprentices only for one to succeed her... all to be taken down by something as silly as old age.

Spiderbite flicked his ear and partly deflated looking upon Lavendersky. It was hard seeing his mentor like this. "I suppose you felt her life leave, didn't you?" He stepped forward and groomed part of her pelt, unable to not take care of her like she had for him. "Silvercloud has died as well. The Clan needs guidance, Lavendersky. They need you."

Acepaw couldn't help but worry for the future of his clan. Spiritstar was... dead. They had no deputy. Everything was falling apart At least Spiritstar couldn't hurt Basilpaw anymore... But that didn't stop him from worrying for his clan. Acepaw headed up to his mentor, Wildstorm, seeking reassurance. "What's going to happen?" He mewed, all his spirit gone. "We don't have a leader, or deputy. If the other clans find out..." anxiety rose in his voice

"I did, not to long after I suppose. And no..." Lavendersky said, giving a soft sigh as she felt him nearby. At least that was one sense she had not yet lost. "There is no more this old bag of bones can do for the clan. Honestly, I cannot even stand on my paws without quaking like a leaf." She snorted at that, almost ashamed that such a simple task was a chore now. "The clan must look to you now, as you are the Medicine cat of Skyclan."
(Spiderbite is being put through the ringer. Deja vu, many of our cats have been.)

Spiderbite's heart skipped a beat at her words. "You can't be serious. With my tongue? Lavendersky, I'm not a leader, and StarClan likes you. Surely they'll give you a sign to help us find Whitesun." He flicked his ears a couple times and kneaded the ground in franticness. To him, Lavendersky's nest needed more moss to be comfortable. "You've helped the Clan through the threat of the Dark Forest before, they need your wisdom, not my sharp tongue."

Lavendersky gave a small snort at that, "Spiderbite, believe it or not, but at one time my tongue lashed just as harshly as yours." She said simply, shaking her head. "Starclan has shown me no signs as of late, nor will they likely show anymore. I am not more wise than any other elder within the clan." She meowed, grimacing as even a small twist to clean a burr from her shoulder hurt. "You must be strong, Spiderbite. I believe I will be joining Spiritstar soon."

With no kin in the Clan, Wildstorm knew that Acepaw went to him when he was concerned or upset. Luckily, Wildstorm saw him as close as a son as he did his blooded son. He pressed close to Shadowmask, but offered his paw to rest on Acepaw's shoulder. "The other Clans are going to have to find out eventually. Thunderclan already will know. That's not anything to fret about. For now, it's a rough spot that we're without a leader or deputy, but we're going to search for Whitesun. In the meantime, we're going to continue doing our duties. We'll manage patrols, we have plenty of Senior Warriors, and apprentices to help." He reminded. "We just need to breathe, and focus on the cats who are able to step up, like Quickwing or Spiderbite." He nodded.

Spiderbite gasped. "Don't say that! You can't leave me. Not with everything's that happened of late. Lavendersky, I don't know what to do. The Clan is losing faith in StarClan, some of them are walking with the Dark Forest, and Nettlesting left Clan life all together." He hung his head. "SkyClan is falling a part. I...I need you."

It wouldn't be any good being anxious when the Clan was already in danger. I need to focus on being hopeful, so I can serve my clan as good as I can. It was him home, after all- he didn't want to lose this home, too, like he had that terrible night with Shadow and Briardust... He nodded to Wildstorm, and spoke more confidently, as if his worries weren't underneath the surface. "Yeah, you're right- we can do this. Skyclan is strong....and I'll do whatever it takes to help!"

"I am old, Spiderbite. I'm starting to think I have put Scarstar and Northstar to shame in age." Lavendersky huffed, tipping her head a bit. "I was born blind, and I started to lose my hearing moons ago. I am of no use to the clan as I am now. Faith will be restored again, it always is." She rested her head on her front paws. "I have pushed myself this far, to make sure you got your name and got settled into the role of Medicine Cat. If need arises, the other clans can help you, they know the struggle of being without a leader and deputy."

Quickwing jumped up onto a small ledge. She didn’t feel right getting on high ledge but she needed to tell the clan about the patrol. “Skyclan!” She called. “I’m going to lead a patrol to search the twolegplace for our clanmates. Are there any volunteers to go?” She avoided looking at Plumwillow, too embarrassed to meet her eyes.

I would be just as scared if my leader was suddenly threatening me. This has got to have something to do with the dark forest, something must have happened to Spiritstar." she growled. "I bet Warblerwind figured it out. That's why they were fighting." "They didn't find Warblerwind's body. He has to be out there somewhere! I know he's going to come back and clear his name. It will all make sense when he comes back." Springpaw sniffed, trying to gather herself. "I know Quickwing and Plumwillow can only report what they saw, but I wish they had gotten there sooner."

Spiderbite glanced out the entrance of the den. "I'm not sure seeking help from the other Clans is what the warriors would want to do," he muttered. Warriors could be so fox-dunged stubborn. "There has to be something I can do to help you, Lavendersky. Do you want something to eat? I can get you water in moss. Or...or..." His voice cracked and he sat down with a miserable huff. How long had he been denying that anything was wrong with Lavendersky. How many times had he defended her to his clanmates when they thought her weak. How he yelled at Spiritstar for even suggesting that Lavendersky could die. Spiderbite squeezed his eyes shut in an attempt to keep tears from coming. "You're my hero," his quiet voice squeaked. "There has to be something I can do."

"You are not a warrior, you are the Medicine Cat. Medicine Cats are exempt from the boundaries of the clans, as we are neutral parties in all manners." Lavendersky scolded him, though she had started coughing right after. How weak her throat was, she was surprised she could speak at all. Must be the stubbornness she had been born with. Though that stubbornness had given her the will to accomplish many things in life. She still remembered how as soon as she was able to walk, she caused Hiddenface much grief by sneaking out of the nest to follow Eaglecry around. Her blindness had never stopped her from foolish ideas. "If there was a cure for old age, there would be no point to a leader having nine lives anymore." She grumped, closing her eyes. "There are many heroes in Starclan, all of which are greater than I."

She couldn't bear to lose Quickwing, and prayed that she would come back safely. Her words made Plumwillow's eyes widen before Quickwing darted away. Was... was she about to say that she... Plumwillow lifted her paw to her muzzle to gently touch where Quickwing's muzzle had touched hers. She closed her eyes, whispering to herself. "I love you too." Emberpaw pushed her way up to Quickwing, her eyes blazing. "I'm going too! I won't give up without searching, however long it takes!" She inwardly realized that her punishment surely had to be lifted, since Spiritstar had sadly passed. At least, she hoped so. She was ready to get back out!
