*Ɗαɾƙρσσℓ* eep, I'm so sorry I forgot to edit that other comment and add some more recs. So here they are! Sci-fi(ish)- the Scythe Trilogy, 2312, Into The Drowning Deep, Escaping Exodus. Middle Grade- Fablehaven, Will Wilder. Area 51 by Annie Jacobsen, The Mother Tongue by Bill Bryson, The Olympian Plays by Viola M. Raguso, Milk! by Mark Kurlansky are some interesting non-fictions. Especially the Olympian Plays, it takes the Greek myths and puts them to TV Script format. It has really helped my understanding, because the original stuff just went over my head. Edit- Oh! And Boneshaker by Cherie Priest! It just came in the mail here. It's set in the San Fran Gold rush era, with steampunk and zombies!

recently finished: The Punch: One Night, Two Lives, and The Fight that Changed Basketball Forever. i really liked it but it was hard to read due to the fight itself and what happened to both guys afterwards. it's not a light, happy read. it's about the Kermit Washington - Rudy Tomjanovich fight, which is one of the major reasons the NBA has the rules regarding fights it does today. as a huge sports fan and as someone who's really for the decreasing of fighting in my fave sport to watch, hockey, (gasp- i know, right?) it was definitely worth the time.
currently reading: The Angel Maker by Stefjan Brijs. i love horror !!!!
to-read: i have a stack of 13 books in my closet ready 2 go !
mostly, i switch between poetry, horror, and non-fiction mostly about sports. i try other genres and topics for non-fiction, but nothing really keeps me like poetry, horror, and stuff about sports does.

Sorry to jump in randomly (I kinda watch this thread recently for book recs haha) but I NEED to read some Brandon Sanderson and I'm wondering where is a good place to start with the whole Cosmere universe? I had a friend who was really REALLY into Brandon Sanderson books but I wasn't reading at all at that point--just started getting back into reading over the last couple years cx And now I keep seeing his name floating around and I'm like. it's time.
(Btw, just to introduce myself, my personal favorite series are The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins and the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness!!! they're so good, def would recommend if you're ever looking for some sci-fi/fantasy type books with lots of emotional payoff)

Mistborn! Start with Mistborn. Which I only know vaguely about, because I'm reading Way of Kings for a friend and because I'd already started it. (I have not heard of these, but now I need to look them up!)

^^^ that's so cool you can read Warriors in another language! How is Way Of Kings going? I'm at a book impasse here. I don't know what I want to read, so I've been picking up books, reading a couple pages and putting them down I think my problem is I have a lot of very interesting books that I want to read and I can't focus on just one. Oh well, I'll get over it. I'm picking up some more vols of Assassination Classroom later today, that'll be fun to read.

You say that, but I'm only just into the Allegiance. Admittedly I am hyped because there are a lot of very familiar words from back when I was learning German, so I can get 50% of most sentences and memory and Google Translate gets me the rest.
Way of Kings is good! I'm finding it nice that I like both POVs for different reasons. Admittedly the world building is phenomenal but I still haven't caught up enough with it to truly get all the little details.
I've never read Assassination Classroom before. I vaguely remember it being popular ages ago, but I can't remember anything about it.

Manga rec I have off the top of my head is World Trigger. It's pretty good. ^^ Also, as for where to start with Terry Pratchett ... Since you say you like that trope ... try Monstrous Regiment. XD You can start Terry Pratchett's Discworld from just about anywhere, so if you ask a veteran fan (like me) they'll either recommend you a book based on something you like - since there's a lot of different genres and types in Discworld - or they'll say take Terry Pratchett's advice and don't start with Color of Magic. Start with Guards! Guards! So. Guards! Guards! or Monstrous Regiment.

Recently finished Lord of The Rings (lotr), and it was amazing. If you like suspense, amazing plots, and adventure, this is a good book for you. There is a lot of suspense, and I think the plot was amazing.
I recommend you read The Hobbit (prequel to lotr) before you read it, as it made a lot more sense to me when I read The Hobbit before LOTR, even though they say to read it after because it is a prequel.
When I get time, I will probably watch the movies!

I've seen the movie. It's very good in my opinion. I have ... sooooooort of read the first book. Eh. I've read the Hobbit though! Yeah the first book isn't that good in the beginning. They stretch every part out a lot, which is why the books are very long. And worse than that, the space between the lines is so small so they fit a ton of words on every page, which makes it even longer! It's still amazing though.

I just ended reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. The story is described so realistically that it seems to you that you are also now in Australia and watching the events. Every story of the main characters touches the soul and you are sincerely worried about them. It is an engaging story filled with murder and mystery. The idea is very interesting. On the first page you will find out that the murder happened. But throughout the story, you have no idea who is the victim. At the same time, the genre cannot be called a detective story. A fascinating book about relationships.
