[Hope you're alright]
Featherfall spotted Troutstar leaving the medicine cat den and padded over. "How are you feeling today Troutstar?" she asked, a look of concern filling her features. He was looking even more frail as time went by, but she was glad he had headed to Willowheart to start off his day.

"I feel great. Like I could outchase a rabbit." Troutstar said, jokingly. But he would not tell his clanmates how he was really feeling. "But a little hungry. I was just on my way over to the fresh-kill pile."

Featherfall sighed, why was he always so stubborn? "Well that's good, hope you find something good to eat. Do you have any special plans for the day?" she asked, curious about whether he was thinking about heading out of camp for any reason. He was so frail his unwillingness to take his time and sit back was unnerving, especially without a second deputy.

Ashstep | Warrior | ❖sᴛᴏʀᴍsᴋʏ A lithe long-haired shaggy dusty brown and gray tabby tom. His is so named because all four of his paws are a dark gray, almost black, while his underbelly and is white. His fur is pretty hard to tame, so most of the time it is matted, despite Ashstep's attempts to try and do otherwise. Both eyes are deep green in color and are brighter around the edges than they are the closer you get to the iris. He is a friendly tom, quite easy to get along with and completely loyal to the clan. He is eager to anything he has to if it means he can help, though he is often hot-headed and can go charging into danger without properly thinking about the situation first.

Ashstep is a cutie! You may start to roleplay whenever you like.) "I was thinking about going hunting, actually," Troutstar informed her. "Redheart isn't around right now t-" The last word was broken off by a coughing fit, definitely less vigorous than the last one, thanks to Willowheart's herbs - "- and then, ah, a walk in the woods, I suppose. What about you, Featherfall?"

{Fab! Thank you. This is just a rather random starter xD}
Ashstep was starting to give up with this whole 'grooming' business. No matter how hard he tried, his long fur just kept getting all matted with twigs and who knew what else getting stuck in it. His day had been going pretty well too, but now he just found himself in a rather irritable mood. Padding through the camp, side-eyeing every cat who even glanced in his direction, the warrior soon found himself in front of the fresh kill pile. Dipping his head he picked himself a nice looking mouse, padding a short distance away before tucking into his meal, fluffy tail curling over his paws as he ate.

Featherfall: "I've been looking for something. I thought about taking the apprentices out, but hunting sounds much more pleasant. Mind if I join you?" His cough was more disconcerting to her, but at least this way someone could keep an eye on the older tom, since he did insist on being out and about.
Nettlepaw and Doepaw glanced sidelong at each other before nodding in excitement. Forget practicing their skills on the others, Ashstep looked to be in a grumpy mood and an easy target. The two crouched down and circled him, stalking silently forward before Nettlepaw leaped at him.

Ashstep was happily enjoying his meal, so it was quite unfortunate that it had to be ruined by apprentices. His ears twitched a little while he ate. Sensing some kind of movement behind him, the tom's head only turned just in time to see Nettlepaw jump at him. The warrior was quick to react, jumping to his paws and moving to the side to avoid the incoming attack. "And what do you think you are doing?" He meowed rather snappily as he spun on the apprentice, "You don't just jump at cats like that."

Nettlepaw grinned. "You do if your trying to practice your hunting and fighting skills! She said, crouching down again. "Besides, you weren't doing anything important and we both need to do some training today so we can be warriors as soon as possible." She didn't awknowledge the fact that her pounce had been unsuccessful, that was unimportant to the argument. The haughty young apprentice looked around for her friend once more, and realized that, as usual, she had no intention of getting involved.
Doepaw was already deeply regretting her choice to follow Nettlepaw into this den of wasps. She preferred to stay unnoticed as much as possible, and their antics had already gotten out of hand. Now Nettlepaw was exasperating the issue with her arrogance and unwillingness to back down from a fight.

Ashstep eyed the apprentice, fur starting to relax again as he sat himself back down, tail lashing from side to side. "Is that so?" He meowed, crouching a little to get a better look at the younger she-cat. "While I agree that you need as much practice as possible, there is a time and a place for such things. One time not to practice is when another cat is trying to eat." It shouldn't be that hard of a concept to understand and just to prove is point more his tail flicked towards his half-eaten mouse. The he paused, knowing full well that this apprentice was probably not going to leave him alone. "Maybe if you let me finish my meal, then I will help you practice."

"Would you! That would be wonderful. How long do you think your going to take?" Nettlepaw paused to take a breath for a second and then proccessed exactly what he said. "Fine. Just hurry up. We'll wait over there." she said, using her tail to point towards the sunning stones.

Ashstep was starting to regret that decision, but he was not a tom to go back on his word. "I will take as long as I need to, no more and no less," that was the only explanation he offered the young apprentice before he went back to his mouse, using his paw to pull it closer. He did start to eat a little slower, however, his own little way of payback for Nettlepaw ruining his relaxing meal in the first place.

Troutstar dipped his head. "I would be honored if you joined this poor old leader," he croaked. "I think we should hunt and then eat though. Prey that one has caught themselves always tastes so much better." I hope I can keep up with her though...

Doepaw returned to Nettlepaw's side, and stretched herself out on the rocks. "You do know he is going to take forever to eat that mouse now, don't you?" She asked. "Thank you however for getting him to do some training with us. I've been feeling very unproductive lately. Nettlepaw nodded at the younger apprentice, and sat, swaying, on the rock in impatience.
Rabbitswoop had watched the entire endevor from his place in camp, and padded quietly over to the other tom, picking out a good thrush for himself. "That looked like all sorts of fun." he stated simply, settling down to eat.
Featherfall nodded at her leader. "If that's how you'd prefer to go about things then of course, and I'm the one honored to hunt with you." She stated it with a quiet smile, pondering how to keep things slow enough for the elderly cat.

"Shall I lead the way?" Troutstar's cordial tone did not mask his sore throat. The big gray tabby nodded his head towards the camp entrance. He couldn't wait to get out into the open air.

Ashstep's meal was once again interrupted by another cat, though at least Rabbitswoop wasn't pouncing at him from behind which was a big improvement. "Quite fun, you should try it sometime," the tabby tom responded before taking another bite from his mouse and swallowing, licking around his muzzle. "But I should probably hurry and eat this unless I want to be bothered some more," the tom spared a glance behind him at the apprentices waiting, shaking his head a little.

"Good plans." Was all Rabbitswoop dare say as he fell once more upon his meal. "I do hope however you know what you've gotten yourself into. Doepaw isn't bad, very quiet and reserved and respectful. Nettlepaw is force to be reckoned with. I'm rather surprised the two spend any time together at all."

Ashstep let out a small sigh as he swallowed the last of his mouth, washing around his muzzle to try and look somewhat presenatble, despite the fact the rest of his fur was still a matted mess. "I'm sure I'll manage. But you are more than welcome to help me out," Ashstep offered the other tom a smile, flicking him with his tail before he stood and turned, padding towards the two waiting apprentices. "Okay then, are you ready?"

Rabbitswoop sighed. If nothing else it would be extremely entertaining. He finished off his thrush and padded behind Ashstep, making sure he was not seen as in charge of this little parade.
Both Doepaw and Nettlepaw launched onto their feet and off the rocks. "Are we ever! yelled Nettlepaw in excitement. She looked to be vibrating, her entire body poised to launch into any sort of action at any second. Doepaw proceeded much more calmly, and thanked Ashstep for his willingness to train them.

Ashstep was rather entertained with the idea that Rabbitswoop had accepted his invitation, even though it had more been a joke than a legitimate offer. Not that the tom wasn't grateful for the help he was getting, two warriors were much better quipped for handling two apprentices than just one. "Okay, so lucky you has both me and Rabbitswoop here to help you out, you should be feeling quite honoured," he gestured to the other tom with his tail, though his green eyes were still on the two apprentices. "Shall we, then?" Turning on his heel, Ashstep padded towards the exit, only glancing behind him to make sure the other cats were following him.

Stoneclaw | Warrior | Aeiou Once a hearty, fearsome force to be reckoned with, Stoneclaw's days as a warrior are drawing to a close. With each passing moon he grows closer to reaching elder status- much to his own disdain. His thick gray fur is gradually thinning out, his muzzle tinged white with age. Though still bulky and muscled, his movements are slower, his joints creakier, and his bright yellow gaze isn't as fiery as it used to be. Though age has mellowed him out quite a bit, reigning in the foolhardy, battle-hungry tom he was in his youth, Stoneclaw still has the heart of a lion. He is a fierce Ghostclan loyalist, willing to both fight and die for his clan, jumping at any opportunity to prove his worth as a warrior of what is, in his opinion, the greatest clan there is. His love for his clan blinds him, makes him willing to throw away his life - and the lives of others - for the sake of what he believes to be the greater good. However, despite his rash, fierce nature, Stoneclaw is capable of being nurturing and warm. He enjoys regaling kits and apprentices with stories of his battles and is self-appointed Clan Grandfather.
Daisyeyes | Queen | Aeiou Daisyeyes is the daughter of Stoneclaw and inherits both his blinding yellow eyes and his motherly nature. Daisyeyes was born to be a queen; she is a caring, kind individual, if not somewhat a bit smothering in her affections. She always fancied herself a bit too gentle to be an average warrior, and a bit too faint of heart and squeamish for medicine cat duties. Early on in life, she had decided that the nursery was the place for her. However, as she grew older and older and still failed to snag a mate, her anxieties grew. Perhaps she was too clingy, or too plump, or too needy for any tom to love her. It seemed that Daisyeyes would be spending her days in the warrior's den for life- that is, until she began to swell. Daisyeyes had finally gotten her lifelong wish; a litter of her own, to love and pamper and dote on. She talks nearly incessantly about her kits, about how strong and beautiful they'll be, how they'll grow up big and strong like their grandfather. She'll talk about anything, really, except for who the father of her kits is. She can only hope that they are born with white fur like her.

The two apprentices fell in step behind Ashstep, keeping their mouths shut for as long as possible to avoid the possibility of losing their opportunity for the days training. Finally the silence and curiosity grew too much, and Nettlepaw blurted, "What exactly are we going to be working on?

Ashstep turned his head towards the two apprentices at the question, eyes lighting up a little as he continued to trop away from camp. "well Nettlepaw, as you were so keen to try and practice your pounces on me, I thought I would give you a better opportunity to do just that." The benefit of being a target for pouncing practice was that he also got in some practice at dodging incoming attacks, even if they were only from an apprentice and not a fully trained warrior. But to Ashstep, the more training the merrier and he wasn't going to complain about it.

"OOOH Lovely!" Nettlepaw mewed, picking up her pace, her tail flickering back and forth as they continued their march forward. "Are we almost to the place?" She asked, her excitement ever building.
Doepaw was much less enthusiastic about the whole thing. Yes she appreciated it, but she was also not nearly as ambitious as Nettlepaw, and she didn't want to make a fool of herself with her clumsiness. Especially in front of two warriors who were not her mentors. And Nettlepaw would laugh her tail off, you could be sure of that much.
Rabbitswoop was begining to regret his decision to come. Being a target for practice didn't sound nearly as entertaining as watching other cats do the same thing. "That's a great idea. You should hide Ashstep, and let them try it two on one. That way it'll be more fair."

Ashstep could see that Nettlepaw was clearly the more eager one of the two apprentices. He only hoped that Doepaw would lighten up a little once they actually got into the training. "Patience, we are almost there," hopping up over a rather sharp rock, the shaggy furred warrior was careful not to cut his paws open, gently leaping down on the other side again. Gesturing with his tail, he led their small party onward, only slowing once they reached the hollow. "And what have you come along for if you are not going to join in, Rabbitswoop?"

"What about Founder's Field? It's not too far from here, eh?" He asked Featherfall. While he was still ambitious to prove himself still a fit leader and warrior, he knew better than to overextend himself. He would rather have a clan with an old leader than a clan without one at all. I was thinking I could give them tips, and watch their moves from an outside perspective. You can't see things quite as clearly when you are at the center of them." While he didn't want to be the object of target, he also wasn't entirely against the idea. But if he could avoid it he would.
Featherfall Nodded once again as they set on their way to founders field. She enjoyed the time to be outside and hunting, although things were still nagging at her conscience. "I don't mean to bother or hurry you Troutstar, and please tell me if you think I am out of line in any way bringing this up, but have you thought at all on who your second deputy is going to be?" She asked it casually, even if her concern was real. She understood the toms unwillingness to step aside, and also to stay in camp, but she was unsure how things would go if he did die without a second deputy by his side.

Ashstep simply nodded his head in response, not wanting to get into an argument with the other warrior. He was fine as acting as bait for the two apprentices, and so he padded further into the hollow, preemptively looking for a good place to hide. "Alright, Doepaw, Nettlepaw, this is how this is going to work. You are going to turn your backs and I am going to hide, then it is up to you to work together to find me, keep me unawares as to where you are and then pounce. Understand?" He looked between the two apprentices, trying to gauge their reactions and see their willingness to work together.
