» Vixenpaw & Fleetpaw
Vixenpaw nodded. "Sure." Keeping her response short and sweet and to the point. Fleetpaw dropped the prey and took a small bite from it. Hearing Redhearts compliment he dipped his head subconsciously, but continued to eat. Vixenpaw slide the squirrel over to Fleetpaw after about four bites, commenting that she was done. Fleetpaw finished the rest of the squirrel quickly, Digging a small hole he buried the bones, not wanting to attract predators to the territory. He trotted over to Redheart as a gesture that they were read to move on.

"You're sure?" She asked, dismissing Owlfrost to wait outside with a flick of her tail. The gray tom would turn all her herbs sour with his attitude. "If there's anything else you need, be sure to let me know."
Aspenpaw nodded, trotting along beside Rowanstorm with his nose in the air, intent on searching for prey. It was hard for him to focus with all the different scents and sounds of the forest, and he had to resist the urge to wander off every few minutes to go investigate anything that caught his interest.

(Sorry that I am so poofy, I'm making something..)
Redheart crossed the first stream and continued along the border, but was sure to not go too far from the apprentices. The water only rose to about the middle of her legs, but the shook the water off of her anyway.
"Oh, yes, Willowheart. I will," Troutstar lied again. There's nothing wrong with me, just old age, I promise you...

//coding is a pain tbh ]]
Rowanstorm got to the brink of the field. He stopped and smelled in the variety of prey. "Tell me what you smell." He suggested, he wanted to ease Aspenpaw through the process, unaware of how much the young cat had been hunting before. He felt a rabit would be far too much for Aspenpaw, but he remained open-minded

Rowanstorm and Aspenpaw are hunting in the forest/meadow, Troutstar is in the medicine den with Willowheart, and Redheart is taking Fleetpaw and Vixenpaw on a patrol and training later. Rowanstorm is also supposed to lead a patrol later with.. Either Rosefoot or Deadleaf and someone else I forget)

Vixenpaw and Fleetpaw had a bit more trouble. Fleetpaw was a better swimmer than Vixenpaw, so he let her go first, so he could keep an eye on her. Vixenpaws paws couldn't touch the ground, as she was short, but she got across safetly. The ground under the water was just out of Fleetpaws reach, but he managed to get a grab every couple of strokes. Padding out of the water, he shook his fur, the stray water falling beside him and to Vixenpaw. Vixenpaw didn't agree with his choice on when to dry off, but didn't say anything.

"It's good that you don't have much trouble with swimming," Redheart commented. "But the next branch of the river is much deeper." The red-striped tabby stopped to mark the border twice, and used her claws to rake shallow lines into the tree trunk next to her. This will let intruding cats know that this territory belongs to someone.

Vixenpaw face expressed what she was feeling as she felt her blood rush to her paws. She was nervous and fearful, being the smallest cat of the group. "Maybe I should go first, just in case?" Fleetpaw suggested, so that if Vixenpaw had a really hard time, Redheart could help. Fleetpaw knew how to swim, but the water would be too deep to help another cat. He glanced over at Deadleaf, almost forgetting she was there.

|| playgirldead || to: border patrol || Deadleaf was shaking some water off of her. She had not said a whole thing during this patrol. Her yellow-amber eyes scanned the apprentices to make sure they were okay. She has been taking up the back of the patrol. The spotted warrior just huffed and looked at Redheart, watching the deputy mark the territory.

"If you want. We're not there yet, though. You have a border to mark, remember?" Redheart told the apprentices. She had a feeling Vixenpaw was scared about crossing the water, and that's why Fleetpaw spoke up. Fear does not have any place in this clan, she thought. Vixenpaw has to grow out of that, one way or another.

Vixenpaw glared at Fleetpaw, but said nothing more. Just because she was scared didn't mean she couldn't do it. She marked the border, Afterwards she sat down and focused on hiding her fear. She watched Fleetpaw shrug his shoulders and carry on, "Just in cased she needed help. She's short." He added, which rewarded him another glare from the she-cat. She flickered her ears and focused on breathing to get the deep river out of the forefront of her mind. Her legs and tail had stopped trembling as she distracted herself

"She may be shorter, but don't mistake that for lack of strength." Redheart pointed out. She drug her claws down the peeling bark of a maple tree before continuing to the second waterflow. "The water is deep here, so all of us will have to swim across one by one. Use strong strokes - the river isn't very fast, but the water is heavier than you are." She glanced at the gray-striped Fleetpaw. "You said you wanted to cross first. Go ahead."

|| playgirldead || to: border patrol || The spotted she-cat kept a chuckle hidden in the back of her throat. She pushed herself to her paws and shook out her pelt. "Let's get this going, you do want to train right?" Deadleaf complained and pawed at the ground impatiently.

Vixenpaw looked a tad relieved when she heard the water was slow-moving. Fleetpaw nodded, he was an okay swimmer, he'd practiced before, unlike Vixenpaw. Vixenpaw was much younger than he was, she basically a new apprentice. Fleetpaw got into the water, moving slowly at first, not knowing when the ground dropped off. He began focusingon his paddling, putting all his energy in moving forward. The water reached the base of his neck, but he didn't stop. He faltered slightly when some of the water got into his mouth, reaching the other side, he climbed out of the water and sat down on the bank. The swim had taken more from him than he thought it would. He shook his fur, as it clung to his sides. After doing so, he clawed at one of the trees. His claw marks weren't as deep as the deputies were, but it was enough.

"You didn't drown. That's something." Redheart commented. He needred to reach out more with his paws, but that could be dealt with another day. "Deadleaf, did you want to go next? I'll follow Vixenpaw." The deputy twitched her whiskers.

Vixenpaw went to the edge to watch Deadleaf, she was more of a visual learner, but she'd never tell them that. She sat down, focused.

|| playgirldead || to: border patrol || Deadleaf nodded, she, like Vixenpaw was short and small. But that didn't let it get to her. The spotted warrior first tested the water so it wouldn't shock her body of the temperature. She then slowly went through the water. The water reached her chin but she kept her jaws slightly separated. It was easier to breath for her. Deadleaf then laid her ears back and kept moving, her body was squirming like a snake under the water. And to be honest, with her teeth showing, the water almost covering her face, she kind of looked like an alligator. For visual preferences. The spotted she-cat finally reached the bank and once she did she shook out her dark spotted pelt.

"Just like that, Vixenpaw." Redheart turned to the ginger and white apprentice. The deputy stood and nudged Vixenpaw to move towards the water. "Do what Deadleaf did, and you'll be fine. Just make sure no fish bite your tail." Redheart added the last part as a joke, but wondered if the apprentice was scared enough to take it to heart.

Vixenpaw nodded. She knew the fish wouldn't bite her. Vixenpaw slowly went into the water. She was fined along the edges of the river, but showed some complications near the middle. Mimicking Deadleaf, her jaw parted and her ears folded backwards and focused on her strokes Intill the depth of the water subsided. She slowly climbed onto the bank, trembling. She shook her pelt and stepped onto the grass, silently thankful

"Good job. You did well for a first-timer." Then Redbeart entered the water herself - by hurling her full grown body into the center of the stream, sending a a thick spray of water everywhere. Redheart's drenched head bobbed out of the water and she padded furiously to the other shore.

Vixenpaw avoided laying down, knowing she'd get a remark from someone, so she sat down, trying to warm up and dry off. Almost forgetting they had one more to go through.

"If you're cold, shake your pelt out and go for a run." Redheart advised. She shook her short pelt out as well. "We need the mark the territory in between the two streams here. "Deadleaf, you can take that cluster of bushes over there, and if we hurry, training can start, and after that you could go back to Basking Rocks. I'm sure they've warmed quite a bit up by now."

Vixenpaw shoke her pelt, but commented that she was fine and didn't need to run. Fleetpaw padded over to Vixenpaw, ready to get the show on the road. Fleetpaw liked the sound of Basking Rocks when they were done, but Vixenpaw had other plans later that day.
