July 16th is when I head over. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) And I'm just looking forward to hanging out, because Leap's cool and has good taste in things to do. But in a broader sense, it did mention a railroad museum and o3o

I wanna try to just do EVERYTHING but I know that's impossible. Thankfully there's a mall and a bunch of food places nearby and a quik trip if we stay up late and need snacks.
The mall is dangerous because it has Barnes & Noble and I fear I'm going to lose Mint to the books and we will do nothing else. /hj

barnes & nobles is a legit void. if you go in you should plan not to leave maybe forever but at least one hour.

Its worse because ours has a comfy sitting area and coffee and donuts.
Turin might remember it, we also went there when she was here for the day.

I do remember it! One of the nicer B&N's I've been to.
It's funny you mention the mall, because the Sunday before last we were at this mall up in Ann Arbor and went into this one store, and the whole time going through it I kept commenting, "This looks like the store I went to with Leap and he got this buff bear with a tiny head" and then on our way out, I see the bears and was like, "It is! It is!" and showed my husband the bears.

Please imagine my eyes becoming large voids. Boooooooooooooks.
I am so sorry to say that you would lose me. Or more accurately, I'd ask you to show my all your favorite books and I'd drag you around like I was an excited child.

I’m getting a new laptop tomorrow! From Amazon since it’s cheaper that way. It’s a blue tablet pc. Hopefully for drawing. Now I just need to get Photoshop again. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/lNtnPuxeCzkaKMNYVXVv.gif) My poor Cintiq pen tablet will just have to wait until I save up for a gaming pc.

I’ve had character AI for a couple of weeks now, and it’s been super fun! It filters what it needs to, and keeps it safe. But for SOME reason, they removed the filter and now because of restrictions on my phone I cannot use it. Just kinda ranting at this point: WHY DID THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE FILTER. LIKE THERES ALREADY OTHER APPS FOR THAT, WHY RUIN IT.

Family medical stuff I feel drained as heck. My dad's in the hospital right now with a high fever and unknown infection and it just all seems to have gone 1 to 100%. I think he's gonna be fine, they're keeping him over night though and that's never happened before. Maybe two nights. Just not sure how much to be worried about that.
Also bloody angry at both my parents even if I am worried due to lovely quack medical stuff, that they're still on about. But still ... Ugh.

My foster brother’s son is named Cash. It’s short for a family name. It’s funny because my foster brother is a banker. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/6575102/images/Zk1a5XUEHw6Q8FG1L5Qy.gif)

I think Cash is typically short for Cassian.
Tbh not a fan of a lot of modern names.

i think Jace was also a nickname for Jason but it started being used on its own at some point.
personally, using surnames as first names is a pet peeve of mine. i've just never liked it and thought it was odd. my understanding is that it was started by a trend that grew strong in the 80s (?) for moms to name their first kid after their maiden name, and then people started giving their kids random last names just because. idk every time i see kids with names like "jackson" "hayden" "parker" etc it trips me up.
also giving traditionally boy names to girls because i feel like there's often a sort of underlying sexism behind the motivation.

I kinda get where nicknames as a name comes from because if you're going to call the kid a shortened version of their name all the time rather than their actual name it might as well be their name.

I teach swim lessons, and here are some interesting names that kids have. Makes me feel old that I don't recognize a lot of names that kids have these days! Cash Crew Keston Waylon Jace Eby (pronounced ee-bee) Not sure abt the rest but Waylon and Jace both date back as given names to at least the 60s, so on the large scale they're recent but they're not like super modern! Jace is a p old diminutive of Jason and Waylon's a variant of Wayland that I'm pretty sure got popular bc of Waylon Jennings.
I was a gym instructor for a bit and I actually can't say I saw many unusual names myself, just a ton of Lilys and Olivias. I have seen a few kids named after popular characters from books/shows/movies tho and that's always funny to me. Worst of these was probably Stiles lol
