Alligatorsnap | Clearing - - { xx }
Having left the warrior's den only moments ago, Alligatorsnap sprinted out to the clearing where he found himself searching for his clanmates-- at least the ones that were awake. He had to set up patrols today, especially ones for hunting. The prey pile was low and the borders needed to be checked.. A wave of anxiety hit the deputy, his chest quivering. His family problems were weighing on him more than his duties for the clan as his daughters were a bit sour (to say the least) about him being mates with Tigerblossom, a young warrior now queen. Today he was going to do his best and not focus on that side of life and instead dedicate his time to BogClan. Letting out a soft howl, the brown tabby's long tail flicked behind him impatiently. "Boulderfang, Silentstrike, Badgerclaw!"
Mind chasing after thoughts endlessly, he realized he had forgotten a few cats; no patrol could be complete if he only sent three cats out for the day. "Leechbite, Sagepaw!" To be clear, Alligatorsnap has always been a tad impatient. If it wasn't noticeable now by the sound of his gruff tone and brooding amber eyes, he didn't know what would make it even more noticeable.

Boulderfang had made it a habit to try to wake up early each morning, usually to wake up her sister, and had been sitting in the clearing waiting for her duties and had begun to zone out in deep thought until a voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She looked around until she spotted the deputy, Alligatorsnap arranging what she assumed was border patrol. The least exciting of the patrols, in her opinion. Slowly she stood up and padded over to where they were assembling.
"Morning." she said flatly, looking at Alligatorsnap with an emotionless gaze

Lucky for Alligatorsnap, Badgerclaw had just awoken from a rather fitful sleep and had just entered the clearing. Letting out a small sigh he padded over to the entrance, sitting down next to his sister as he waited for the rest of the patrol. He really wasn't in a mood to be walking around the territory with a bunch of other cats, especially a young apprentice. "This should be exciting," he muttered.
Tigerblossom ;;
It was getting harder and harder for Tigerblossom to walk as her pregnancy matured so her mate, the deputy, had told her to officially move into the nursery. It was lonely being the only one in there and she missed hearing the slow, steady breathing of other sleeping cats around her so she usually woke up at dawn to see all of her friends off on their patrols and hunting parties. This made her feel a little bit better, but today she was hoping that Alligatorsnap would stay behind so that they could spend time together. As she waddled her way up to where he stood, she cast a glance in Leechbite's direction and received an unfriendly gaze - to which she responded with a snarl. "Your daughters hate me," she hissed once she reached the large tabby tom. |

When Sagepaw heard his name he got up quickly and destroyed the anger and hurt throughout his head at the moment. The young tom licked some of his fur down before bounding over to the group that was forming. He gave a friendly grin to Alligatorsnap. The long-legged apprentice straightened him out and looked around. Maybe father will ask to join..he thought.

Silentstrike was a little groggy from waking up. The young she-cat huffed and got up and slowly made her way to the patrol. Sleepily she plopped down and nodded to her deputy then went on the task of fixing her fur. She licked at her silver tabby pelt and soon enough it looked fresh and sleek.

"Good morning Boulderfang, Badgerclaw," the brown tabby tom mewed, giving a swift nod before mewling a greeting to the joining cats. He decided it would be best to get the cats sorted out into patrols instead of waiting around for them to pick and choose. "I'm sending out two patrols; one to check the borders, another for hunting. Silenstrike, you will lead the hunting patrol. Feel free to take Pinepaw and Leechbite with you. If you need more cats, find them; I'm sure there's enough in camp to help you out."
Speaking of Leechbite, the black she-cat hobbled over to the forming patrols before catching Tigerblossom's unfriendly gaze. Snorting, she rolled her green eyes at the queen before dragging a paw over her left ear. "I'm fine with that," she mewed, flicking her tail in response to her father's words.
Grumbling at his daughter's interruption, the deputy turned to Boulderfang. "Boulderfang, I'd like you to lead a border patrol. Please take Sagepaw and Badgerclaw with you. If you need another cat or two, you know where to find them."
His mate's hiss startled him, causing the fur along his spine to bristle. "Tigerblossom.. We'll speak about this once the patrols are gone," the tom mewed, lowering his voice and touching his muzzle to his ear.
"Does everyone understand their duties or do you need more clarification?"

Pinepaw groaned and padded over to Silentstrike with a pleading look on his face. "I just got back from hunting with Swiftclaw so is it okay if I go on the border patrol instead?" As much as the young tom loved hunting, he simply didn't have it in him to go back out to catch more prey within five minutes of getting back. He didn't even care that Sagepaw was on the patrol, he just didn't want to go hunting again.

Tigerblossom understood that Alligatorsnap had duties to attend to and she didn't mind that. She didn't even really mind Leechbite's intolerance of her: two could play at that game, especially a pregnant queen who had just come into a position of slight power. "Take your time," she mewed as Alligatorsnap touched his muzzle to her ear. |

The black she-cat never exactly lead a border patrol, or any patrol at all, since she had became a warrior but she knew her way around their territory and was willing to give it a shot. "I think we should we fine with the couple of us." she said waiting to see if the other apprentice would be joining them. But of course the more cats, the quicker we can get this done. she thought looking at the other cats in her patrol

Badgerclaw grudgingly got up and made his way over to the black she-cat, getting a flick of the tail over his ear from his sister as a goodbye. "Boulderfang," he grumbled as he dipped his head. The two cats hadn't interacted much at all, even though they were in the same clan, so Badgerclaw didn't know much about her - nor did he really care to know. He had been focusing on becoming deputy when Alligatorsnap became leader recently and that was, of course, preoccupying him. |

"Of course. Hunting's nothing compared to a boring border patrol anyways," she replied to Silentstrike before Pinepaw spoke up. Her green eyes searched the young tom. "Border patrol is with Boulderfang. Enjoy your time searching for foxes, badgers.. alligators.. Anything of the like." Her jaws stretched out into a yawn before she turned to the other black she-cat. "Is there a certain place you'd like to hunt, Silentstrike?"
Alligatorsnap --
With the patrols set, Alligatorsnap felt somewhat calmer. He was still bothered by the fact his family didn't get along, though he could pick a bone with his daughters at a later time about TIgerblossom. "Remember, if you need any of your clanmates to join you, some are still in the warrior's or apprentice's den," he reminded the group, giving a curt nod. "Tigerblossom, if you want to talk now, we can. I'm sure they can figure out the patrols on their own now."

Boulderfang gave another slow blink, this time at Pinepaw, before she started to walked out of camp. "We'd better get going if we're going to find all of those alligators and badgers." she stated, letting out a dry and slightly disturbing laugh afterwords

Leechbite && Silenstrike --
"Sounds good to me," the young black she-cat meowed, quickly to her paws as Silentstrike did the same. Once on her paws, Leechbite padded after the silver tabby in silence, contemplating on starting a conversation or not. Family problems were the least of her worries-- if she even had worries, that is. Carefully moving to the side of the warrior, she slowed her pace to save energy for their hunt. It would be better that way, plus she didn't mind taking some time to hunt and get away from camp for a bit.

Pinepaw nodded at Boulderfang and let out a small, nervous laugh before moving to the back of the patrol. "You're . . . absolutely right about that, Boulderfang," he meowed with an unsure tone. The older she-cat had never seemed quite sane to him before but with Pantherhunt as a mother, who would be? Dealing with her after the attack must have been ten times as worse as dealing with her before.

Badgerclaw was really not wanting to have to deal with Sagepaw and Pinepaw arguing all of the time when they were warriors so he decided to take initiative and moved himself to the very back of the patrol. "Apprentices, together," he ordered them in a stern voice.
Tigerblossom ;; (ooo she gettin sassy)
When her mate turned to her, Tigerblossom sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws as best she could - sitting like this was not easy for a heavily pregnant queen but she needed to look like she was serious and in control of the situation, which she was. "Alligatorsnap, I couldn't give less of a rat's tail about what your daughters feel for me personally. However, they do need to learn to respect their elders and their betters. For Bogstar's sake, I'm the deputy's mate! They should not be treating someone with even a little bit of power like that," she hissed. "Do they treat Beetleleg like that? What about Adderstar? Or even you?" |

Boulderfang nodded and kept walking, she didn't seem to actually notice what the apprentice had said. "I'd figure we head toward the Frog Pond, the edges are usually were rogues feel safe. Not to mention we'd go through the rest of the territory leading to the border." The she cat liked to speak her plans even if it wasn't necessary. It also didn't matter if no one was there or listening.
