Littlepaw The small tom squeaked and almost jumped out of his fur. The tabby kept his head dipped low, his tail wrapping around his backleg in fear. Littlepaw quickly stammered out a reply, "L-littlepaw, sir!" His voice came out like a squeak, and the cadet hung his head even further like a guilty kit about to get yelled at by their mother. The amber-eyed tom swallowed nervously, trying to stand up straighter under the captain's intense gaze.
Honeypaw The golden she-cat crouched down in surprise as her captain leapt past to harass the cadet behind her. She turned her head over her shoulder to watch out of curiosity, finding the small tabby somewhat familiar. She didn't know his name, until he squeaked it out. She almost laughed, though managed to keep it down to a tiny snort. 'He sounds more like a mouse than a cat.' Honeypaw thought in amusement, watching the Captain stare down the small tom.
Hailpaw Hailpaw turned his head ever so slightly to be able to see his captain and the cadet he was seemingly threatening. He could tell already he'd have to watch his step to keep from being put under Flamepelt's scrutinizing gaze as well. The large stony tom turned head back towards the front, though watched Sparrowpaw out of the corner of his eye.

SweetCometShadowfur - -Noticing Honeypaw shift out of the corner of his eye, Shadowfur jerked his large head around to look at her. "Who the hell told you that you could turn your head and watch, cadet?" he snarled. "This isn't for your entertainment, and isn't meant to be watched like it is! Turn back around and mind your own business, before I snap your neck!" His anger was flaring already, something that wasn't good for these young cats. An angry Shadowfur is nothing anyone wants to deal with, especially not if that someone is a cadet.

Cadet Sparrowpaw // Camp Fire -
The young russet-furred she-cat's eyes widened in surprise when she saw that the scarred older tom was coming over to see her. Gah, he noticed! I can't believe I did that again, Sparrowpaw thought, inwardly scolding herself. She would often stare by accident when she was trying to look at someone and observe things about them. Analyze them. Then she would get lost in her own thoughts. How am I supposed to explain that though? He probably thinks I was just looking at him because he has scars. Sparrowpaw made sure she was standing tall and tried to look cool as she spoke, meeting his gaze calmly. "No, sir, I apologize. I do that to everyone. I mean, that probably sounds really strange, but.. that's just how I start to get to know others, I suppose. By looking at them first."
~
Cadet Rowanpaw // Camp Stone -
Rowanpaw stood tall next to his Clanmates, watching Captain Shadowfur as he suddenly leaped towards one of the other cadets and yelled at him. He gaped at the jet-black tom for a moment, surprised at such a quick and unexpected movement, and felt a pang of sympathy for Littlepaw. If he approached me like that, I would be startled, too! Then he saw Shadowfur snap at Honeypaw for watching and quickly looked down at his paws, pretending not to notice anything.

Honeypaw The golden furred she-cat quickly whipped her head around back to facing forwards, Honeypaw's head dipping slightly. A grimace formed on her face, annoyed with being called out and embarrassed in front of all the other cadets here. She glowered at the space in front of her.
Littlepaw The meek tom in front of Shadowfur shrunk down even farther as the tom threatened and yelled at the cadet in front of him. Littlepaw was practically shaking in his fur, and he had to fight the urge to curl up in a ball or dig himself a hole and jump in it. The small tabby simply lowered his head even further, staring at the dirt in front of him rather than make eye contact and possibly anger the captain even more.

[ Lightningpaw // Camp Stone ] - Lightningpaw's eyes darted over to Honeypaw and Shadowfur for a split second, and he pursed his lips together awkwardly, averting his eyes from the scene immediately. He shuddered a bit at Shadowfur's harsh threats, not wanting to get in trouble on the first day. He'd have to be careful; even the tiniest wrong move or word would cost him embarrassment and a barrage of yowling on his ears. In the meantime, he began to assess Littlepaw. He felt a bit bad for the timid little tom, but still felt as if he could be a bit braver. This was boot camp, and everyone was required to put up with adults barking at them every minute.
[ Snakepaw // Camp Fire ] - Snakepaw did nothing, except stealing a glance at Flamepelt and Sparrowpaw before turning back to stare ahead. Getting told off on the first day, eh? She thought, a bit disdainfully, to herself. Silly moves like that get you in trouble. It appeared that Sergeant Flamepelt had quite the temper, so she decided to be a bit cautious with her actions.

( Before I forget, here's a starter for Captian Tigerfury and her troop. Sorry it's so long. ;v; )[ Tigerfury // Camp Leaf // Lórien Wolfdusk ] A large brown tabby she-cat stalked up and down her line of cadets, her eyes smoldering and serious. This muscular she-cat was none other than Captain Tigerfury. This was her second year in the military force, and she had picked up her duties as a sergeant very quickly. Her latest troop had graduated last year, with pride; hopefully, this year would end the very same way. But of course, she was very well aware that her next troop would start off as no more than foolish kittens.
It was her assignment to teach them to throw away all those childish ways. Even if it took all her anger, she had to put her paw down and make it clear that childishness had no place in the army. She knew the new cats would not like her harsh training methods, but the more they hated her, the more they would learn to respect her. She meant business, and she would make sure that any disobedience would be payed for.
"Alright, maggots!" She barked, already using her first insult in order to get their attention. "Everyone should be standing at attention, now!"

(Going to fireworks soon so this will be my last or second to last post for a few hours)
Shadowfur - -
The black tom let out an angry hiss as Littlepaw shrunk even further away from him. Blah! What a mangy little coward he was! Shadowfur couldn't believe that the Land Division would draft such a self-pitying, worthless lump of fur. Why, if he'd ever acted like that around his father, he'd be unable to sit down for a week!
"Swallow that fear and stand tall!" he ordered. "This is fricking recruit training, cadet, not pansy prep! If you wanted to be babied, you should have joined the god dang Nursery Corps*!"
Flamepelt - -
Flamepelt's lips curled back in a snarl. "Oh really?" he sneered. "Well, then, I guess you'd better fix that. You study your enemy, Cadet, not your ally. I am not the danger here, and I never will be. So don't stare at me like I've got two heads, clear?"
He hated to let little kits ruffle his fur so, but it was hard not to. After all, he had such a short fuse that even a bit of cold weather was enough to send him spiraling into a bad mood. He knew he was often the most hated drill sergeant in Camp Fire. He didn't care.
*Nursery Corps is a slang term for kits who choose to enter the civilian draft instead of the military draft. These civilian workers are often sent to work in nursing camps, hence the slang.

(Mobile post so idk how well this is gonna turn out) Littlepaw---
The tabby yelped a quick, 'yes sir! S-Sorry, sir!' before leaping to stand straight. His head remained dipped, though he peeked up at Shadowfur nervously. Littlepaw was practically quaking, his legs shivering as he dug his claws into the ground. The cadet's fur was sticking up out of fear, and he pleaded for his legs to manage to keep him standing.

Shadowfur - -
"And stop stammering!" Shadowfur snapped. He then walked back to his original position, sweeping his gaze once more down the line. "What a bunch of pathetic lumps you all are," he muttered. Raising his voice, he continued, "The first thing every cadet learns is the position of attention. Whenever you speak to a superior, are in formation, or have otherwise been ordered to do so, you will stand at the position of attention. You will keep your legs straight but not locked, your tail straight in the air, your eyes and ears forward, and your mouths closed. Stand in the position of attention now!"

[ Lightningpaw // Camp Stone ] - At Shadowfur's clear edict, the tabby stood up straighter than he had been. He spaced his legs apart, just enough so that they weren't so close. His tail pointed towards the sky and his head was raised in turn. Lightningpaw's gaze was focused solely on his commander, although he could feel his fur prickling up slightly with his anticipation. He forced it to lie down, before it became too noticeable.

Littlepaw The small tabby quickly stumbled into position, fighting the strong urge to twitch his tail and dip his head. Littlepaw stared stubbornly forward, putting as much strength into staying still as he could.
Honeypaw Honeypaw sighed inwardly, but followed directions and got into suitable 'at attention' form. She kept her gaze towards Shadowfur, and waited for more directions. 'This is gonna be every day at this place, better get used to it.' The golden she-cat thought.
Hailpaw After the talking to the other cadet got, the large tom decided it might be best not to stare at his commander after all. Hailpaw let his eyes roam over captain once more, and then glanced over the cadets around him, before centering his gaze straight forward. The tom perked his ears though, letting them follow Flamepelt to better pick up any orders given.

(Lol okay)
Willowstrike lay nestled in the bulging roots of an incredibly old oak tree. After elements of First Respondent at Post #2 were completely overwhelmed after scouts underestimated the number of Shadow Leaguers at Free Lake, units from Stronghold moved up and established a temporary position about a quarter day's walk closer to the lake. The apparent reason was to give "overworked First Respondent soldiers a break", but Willowstrike was smart enough to know that the top commanders didn't think that FRC was equipped to take the lake back.
Getting Free Lake back was a necessity, since it was one of the cleanest water sources in the area and provided a good, secure place to move Post #2 up to. Even though he hadn't participated in the battle, Willowstrike felt ashamed that his company was unable to reclaim the lake. He fortunately hadn't lost any friends in the battle, which was a miracle considering the fact that nearly a quarter of the eighty cats sent died. He just hoped that Stronghold could win the fight for ClawClan.

Shadowfur - -
"Now," Shadowfur continued. "Everyone line up with your front paws touching this line." With one claw, he drew a line in the loose dirt beneath his paws. He was going to have the cadets run to test their speed and endurance, two important attributes to a well-rounded soldier. A good fighter needed to be able to move quickly, whether it be to get to another place on the battlefield or avoid an attack. Endurance was obviously important because a soldier with poor endurance would tire easily.
Flamepelt - -
Curtly, Flamepelt told the cadets how to stand at attention before ordering them to do so. He of course expected perfection among his cats, as he was not one to understand how anyone could not get something after he explained it so carefully. He always tried his best to explain things perfectly, and did so in his eyes. However, to some, his explanations often left much to be desired.

Hailpaw The grey tom frowned briefly, before doing his best to follow Flamepelt's descriptions of how they were supposed to stand. Hailpaw held his tail straight and up, placing his feet apart slightly, and staring straight ahead stoically. His blue eyes glanced quickly over the others to see what they were doing, and the cadet adjusted his stance to be more similar. He kept his mouth shut, and settled in. He kept his gaze carefully ahead and set his ears to face the same way.
Honeypaw Honeypaw approached the line slowly, her ears flicking in an attempt to relieve some of the need to look around at the others. The golden she-cat placed her feet on the line as ordered. She huffed in annoyance as she was somewhat shuffled by the other cadets lining up, but settled into a ready stance at the line.
Littlepaw He quickly followed everyone to the line, not wanting to get pointed out again. He squeezed past the golden she-cat who had been staring at him getting yelled at, and quickly shrunk away from her to be further down the line. He set both paws on the line nervously. 'Are we going to do some kind of test?' He thought, 'I h-hope it's something easy, but... Shadowfur do-doesn't seem like the type... Oh gosh I hope I don't do badly or trip, or what if I knock everyone over?' Littlepaw's eyes widened as his thoughts quickly spiraled out of control into all the bad possibilities and scenarios he could think of.

[ Lightningpaw // Camp Stone ] - Lightningpaw nodded and stepped up, his front paws right below the shallow line that Shadowfur scored in the dirt. Still holding his attention pose, he attempted to hide any telltale signs of his excitement.
[ Snakepaw // Camp Fire ] - Snakepaw didn't have to do much except raise her tail and stand up a bit taller. She wanted to get everything right the first time; there was no reason for anyone to mess up when the instructions were displayed in simple, careful detail.
[ Moonleaf // F.R.C. ] - Moonleaf paced about the base camp, her paws flattening tiny blades of grass as she walked. Her head faced the ground while she brooded about the failed recovery mission that went underway not too long ago. She was still disappointed that they lost their rightful land, not to mention quite a number of lives, but it was mostly due to their outnumbered units. Hopefully the Stronghold cats could reverse the rest of the damage done.
She looked up to see where she was going, almost bumping into a gnarled tree root. Nestled inside was her companion-in-arms, Willowstrike. Sitting down slowly, the tabby ceased her gait and opened her mouth to speak. "Oh... Hey, Will," she mumbled, using her nickname for him out of closeness. "I can tell you're...upset about the mission. I am too. I could tell the COs felt that we couldn't take those Leaguers on. And I really wish we could, to be honest."

SweetComet Mᴏᴏɴ - -Shadowfur - -Shadowfur moved so that he was standing behind his cadets. "Alright, now, this will be a test of your speed and endurance. It's preliminary, to give me a good idea of where all of you are. No pushing, no cutting cats off, and certainly no walking. Don't be pathetic, any of you. Now, see that tree over there, about ten tree-lengths away? Run to it and back to this line until I say stop. This isn't a race, either; just do your best." Flamepelt - -Flamepelt turned away from the cadets. Over his shoulder, he called, "Now, all of you, follow me! We're going to play a little game to test your abilities coming into this camp." Without waiting for the acknowledgement of his cadets, Flamepelt whisked away, his bright paws flying almost effortlessly along the dirt. Willowstrike, FRCHe sighed, sitting up as his friend approached. "I wish so, too. One big screw-up, and we lose the whole thing. Those top comms haven't even been out here in what, eight moons? So how the hell do they know what it's like out here? How hard it is? I know I haven't fought yet, but I saw how those soldiers looked when they came back. The ones who lived, at least." His tone was harsh, unusually so. He normally was not so intense, but he truly was angry. He had a feeling that Moonleaf was, too. Or maybe she was just disappointed. He couldn't really tell, in all honesty.

[ Lightningpaw // Camp Stone ] - "Sir, yes, sir!" Without a single glance towards his peers, Lightningpaw raced ahead, all that pent up energy he had stored in his body sending him propelling forwards. He wasn't the first to run off, but that didn't matter to him. Hmph. It's a bit far away, but I love a good run!
Shadowfur had strictly said it wasn't a race, and even Lightningpaw understood that. There was no prize; he didn't care about "winning". Well, okay, maybe he did. But surely no one would try him anyways. He let out a sharp huff, as he finally reached the tree, spinning a 180° and rushing back to the line.
[ Snakepaw // Camp Fire ] - Game? Snakepaw thought flatly. She sensed the sarcasm and decided that what waited in store was probably something strenuous. Even so, she followed Flamepelt with wide running strides, eager to see what their activity was.
[ Moonleaf // F.R.C. ] - The blue tabby pursed her lips, shaking her head in somber agreement. Her eyebrows creased, and it was obvious that she was both disappointed and irritated. "I know. It's saddening. I know the commandants are doing their jobs, but..." She let out a single huff of laughter, but it was more dry and sardonic than humorous. "Hell, a bit of moral support would be nice. We're out here trying to do our best, protect the civilian population, drive out the insurgents. And then you've got our leaders. But, hey, Will - they may come around with time. You never know."

Littlepaw The small tabby tom sighed in relief. Just running back and forth shouldn't be too hard. Despite his clumsiness and real lack of being good at anything, Littlepaw was quite fast if he could keep his feet underneath him. He wasn't sure how many he would be able to do, but at least he could keep up speed wise.
Hailpaw The stone grey cadet quickly followed after Flamepelt. He kept up reasonably well, towards the front of the group of cadets running after the Captain.

Shadowfur - -
"Keep going!" Shadowfur yowled. "I want to see smoke coming out from the ends of your paws! That's how fast I want your little wimpy behinds moving! No slackers! If I see anyone giving anything less than 100%, I will rip off your frickin' legs and shove them down your throat!"
Flamepelt - -
Once the group had arrived at their destination, Flamepelt turned to look at his cadets once more. They had arrived before a large opening in the side of the canyon they were in, the likes of which quickly dove down into darkness.
Gesturing at it with his tail, Flamepelt explained, "That right there is the only entrance to the tunnel system in Camp Fire. That system can take you up to twelve hundred tree-lengths away and many more tree-lengths down. It exists mainly for the purposes of evacuating the camp if necessary. All cadets must know how to use it, and recently implemented protocols have decided that every cadet must learn tunnel navigation on day one for safety. Stupid Land Division regulations, but whatever. The game we're playing is a race, to see who can figure out how to reach the exit the fastest. There exists many dead-ends and tunnels that will lead you backwards without you realizing it, so getting out is not easy when you're unfamiliar with the layout. You all will be split into groups for this. Hailpaw and Snakepaw will be in one group..."
(Friendly reminder that no cat should be getting through this system in three posts. It's supposed to be challenging. And no injuries/incidents without asking first, please)
Willowstrike, FRC
He scoffed at Moonleaf's last remark. "The top commanders never come to the front lines until we win," he growled. "They're too afraid of getting killed, even though warfare is what they trained for. Most of them spent their entire lives working at the higher posts anyways, like twelve and eleven. The safe ones. No matter what war is going on, those two posts never see any action, they're so far away. At least, that's what the older soldiers here say."

(Sorry I was gone so long, I was busy earlier haha)
Cadet Sparrowpaw // Camp Fire -
Sparrowpaw followed her ginger mentor quietly, a bit disheartened and embarrassed after being told off. Once they reached the destination she stopped to listen to Flamepelt carefully, and she grew excited at hearing they would be going through an obstacle course. Yes! I can totally do this! And this is my chance to make up for earlier! She looked calm with no trace of any emotions she was feeling, however, and silently waited to be assigned a partner.
Cadet Rowanpaw // Camp Stone -
Rowanpaw immediately dashed off as fast as he could, not wanting to get on Shadowfur's bad side. He tried to keep his pace steady so he wouldn't get tired easily, but after hearing the black tom yell at them, he sped up a bit, and after awhile felt his chest beginning to hurt. But he kept on going, hoping he wouldn't be singled out by Shadowfur, not because he really cared what the other cadets thought of him, but because he was a little of terrified of him.
Cadet Swiftpaw // Camp Leaf -
Swiftpaw stood there like normal, not paying much attention to his new mentor. The muscular brown tabby just barely heard her say anything. He had been too busy thinking about how he didn't really want to be here. How he hadn't felt like going here in the first place. But he had had only two options: go to the Nursery Corps, or go to Boot Camp, and he sure as heck wasn't going to choose Nursery Corps. The yellow-eyed tom let out a faint sigh. Stupid place. Don't they have enough soldiers as it is? he thought irritably.
