Dawncloud smiled at the medicine-cat's request, a glow of pride welling up inside her at the thought of being trusted enough by the medicine-cat to serve as his escort. "I'd love to go collect herbs with you!" She purred excitedly, "But, uh, I do have my first patrol coming up this morning--would you mind waiting till afternoon for me? I'd really like to go along, I just don't think it'd be a good idea to miss my first duty as a warrior," she added with a playful smile. Firefeather's caring nature was fit for his role as a medicine cat, and Dawncloud hoped that kindness would lend him the patience to wait until after her patrol. "Speaking of which, I better go! I see Darkfoot waiting for me!" she meowed as she trotted off to go meet her partner for the morning's patrol. She greeted him with a friendly lick on the shoulder, and with that they set off into the woods of Thunderclan's territory.

Amberclaw's ears pricked at the sound of Jaggedstar's deep voice calling after her. Her heart quickened as she realized he had followed after her-- so I guess he does still notice me, she thought with a purr. Her anger cooled as she turned to face her tom: "Well hello there sir... fancy seeing you here," she meowed playfully. "I wasn't sure our great leader had time to spare for me." Amberclaw's anger may have faded in wake of her excitement for Jaggestar's attention, but that didn't mean she couldn't give him a little grief.

His gaze lingered as he watched her leave, but he shook his head and went back to work on his remedies. Jaggedstar was surprised at the affection and excitement in her tone, when he had just seen her so angry. How was she already mad at me today? I would have figured it was something I did last night or something.. But nope, she was mad because he hadn't greeted her this morning. How am I supposed to keep up with this?! But, as angry and confused he had become he couldn't help but as she looked into his eyes he couldn't stay mad. He was the one neglecting her, not the other way around. "Amberclaw..." He sighed softly and leaned in to give her a lick on the cheek,"I know this has been hard lately, but I'm just so overwhelmed... I wake up and I'm lucky if I get two minutes to myself before I'm needed somewhere, and if I get to eat its a miracle , I swear I've lost weight..." He tried to put that joke in but it was actually kind of true. His tone softened,"I know I haven't had a lot of free time lately and I'm sorry for that.. It's not fair to you." |

Dawncloud trotted back in through the entrance to the clan, mouth full with a fat Greenleaf rabbit. Her patrol had gone as smoothly as she could have hoped, so smoothly in fact that her and Darkfoot had time to each hunt a bit before they returned. Dawncloud was proud of her plump catch-it was large enough for two, and she decided that it would be the perfect meal for her and Firefeather to share before they headed out to collect herbs.
"Furrrfuthuhh?" she called for the medicine cat through a mouthful of rabbit. She placed her catch on the ground before she spoke again "Firefeather, I'm back! And come look what I've brought~ I thought we could share a bite before we headed off for your herbs" she meowed cheerfully. A warm sunny day, a smooth patrol, a juicy catch, and soon to accompany one of her favorite clan cats out to gather herbs-- her first day as warrior could hardly be going better.

Amberclaw purred at Jaggedstar's gentle lick, and listened with only a tickle of annoyance as he spouted of his usual laundry list of excuses. She sighed. "I know, I know Jay (pet name for her boy huehue). It's just... I mean come on, you could at least take the time to at least say hi to me, for Starclan's sake. It feels like you haven't even been acknowledging my existence lately," she meowed carefully. She didn't want to start another fight, especially not when he was trying to apologize for his behavior. After all his past promises to try harder, maybe he finally was. "But I know it's tough being leader. I forgive you, just.. try to take it easy on the leader stress? Our clan is doing fine, you've really got nothing to be worrying about so much."

Seeing her made him happy, but he couldn't tell if that was just because he had only been in his room all day with no visitors except his patients or if it was something else... They'd always been friendly to each other, but nothing more (obviously). He was a medicine cat and he could ever think of anyone like that, it was forbidden. But it didn't hurt him to think that maybe, if he had gone down the path of a warrior if he might have possibly tried to gain her affection....But in this life, he was happy just to have her as a friend, she was very lovely to be around. He looked at the fresh kill she had carried in,"Dawncloud, thank goodness, I was just about to go grab something for myself, I'd be happy to share. That looks amazing." He gave a small purr as he padded up to her,"I guess that means the patrol went well, did it feel any different?" He asked curiously. This was something he'd never had a chance to experience. He knew it from a medicine cat perspective but not a warriors, two totally different feelings. Jaggedstar gave her a sad gaze,"But that's the thing, I have to worry. There is countless things to worry about all the time.. That's my job, and sometimes I don't have any time for myself let alone to give you the attention I want to.. and that you deserve. It's not fair to you Amberclaw... I never wanted you to have to feel the way Ive been making you feel for the past few moons. I love you.." He gazed into her eyes, he couldn't believe what he was about to say, he never would have thought this would be happening,"But, I've changed. I have more responsibilities, I'm not just looking out for you and I, I have to look out for the whole clan. I can't give you what you want anymore, I-" His voice broke, he obviously didn't want to do this but.. Don't stop, this is what's best for her.. she needs someone who can love her the way she needs... "I think we should end this." His face was serious, but sorrowful. He tried to hide it was it was hard for him. He saw himself being mates with her.. having kits someday. But it was all taken away from him when he became leader. She didn't have the right personality to be able to handle being his mate, and he didn't have the time to make it work with her. He cursed Starclan's in his head, he cursed Treestar for picking him and taking away the life he never knew he wanted... But he also felt a weight lifting off of his shoulders. He didn't know it, but he had needed to do this, not just for her but for himself as well. |

"Well, I thought it would feel more differently than it did, to be honest," Dawncloud meowed "But I guess at the end of the day, a patrol is a patrol just the same. It was nice not to have a mentor breathing down my back, though" she purred. She dipped her head down to chow down on the rabbit she had brought for them, pausing when she realized that Firefeather was waiting for her to finish. "Oh, sorry Firefeather! Patrol worked up an appetite I guess, heh. You should dig in!"

Amberclaw stood, shocked, as she processed the words her tom had just spoken. I think we should end this, the words echoed in her mind, filling up her thoughts until the words were the only thing left in her mind. She inhaled sharply, having not taken a breath since Jaggedstar delivered the words. "End this?!" She yowled. "End this? So what, you're just going to give up? Just like that?" The words burst forth from Amberclaw in angry waves. She gritted her teeth in frustration, the tension in her muscles growing as her anger sunk through her skin, down to her bones. "I... I can't believe you! I thought I meant more to you than this!" she spit, and with a final toxic hiss she bounded into the forest, running wildly, blinded by her emotions.

Firefeather realized he'd been staring a little too much. She made these cute faces when she ate and he got caught looking. He smiled,"Don't be sorry, you earned it." He took his share and left a bit,"You can finish it off if you'd like, and then we can head out, there is some yarrow I'd like to check on growing near the lake if you're okay to go that far." He stretched his long legs out gently, feeling a little sleepy from his full stomach.
Jaggedstar watched as she left. He'd taken the yelling without a complaint or movement, he knew he deserved it. But, his heart ached with every word. " This is the last time I hurt you..." He spoke to himself as she left. He took a few minutes to gather his barrings but before too long he knew he had to head back to camp to start his duties for the day. He reluctantly walked back into the camp and was greeted by a few cats asking questions. He answered them and then went over to Rippletail. He talked with her and played with her kits to cheer himself up a bit, kits were so oblivious to hardships it was almost a stress reliever for him to play with them. By the time he was finished and had gone on a patrol there was still no sign of Amberclaw, he was getting worried about her.

Two sunrises before his sister Juniperheart revealed that she's expecting Nightwhisker's kits. "Moonpaw can you please come over here?" said a voice. Moonpaw turned around to see his mentor Talonheart. "Yes Talonheart?" said Moonpaw sitting in front of his mentor. "Can you go get some catmint? Remember Spottedstripe is expecting her kits and she has greencough and I don't want her kits to be unhealthy when they're born," said the tom organising herbs. Moonpaw nodded and walked out of the den. ~โข~ Moonpaw jumped on the fence separating WindClan territory from Twolegplace. He jumped down into the garden. He smelt something he never noticed before. "Is it just me or did the Twolegs get a new-" Moonpaw's thoughts were interrupted by a yellow mass of fur jumping on him. "What are you doing in my garden!" it screeched. Moonpaw looked up to see a she-cat probably a moon younger than him. "A. I'm here for catmint and B. can you please get off me," said Moonpaw. "I'm so sorry," she said stepping off the silver tom. "I'm Bella by the way. What's your name?" questioned Bella. "I'm Moonpaw," he said sitting down. "How about we make a deal Moonpaw. I'll allow you to take catmint from here whenever you want if you promise to visit me ever new moon?" Bella said blushing. Moonpaw nodded. five moons later "Bella are you here?" yelled Moonwhispher. "I thought you would never come," said Bella looking plumper then the last time the new medicine cat saw her, "So anything new happened?" she asked. "You can call me Moonwhispher now. What about you?" questioned Moonwhispher. Bella looked down at her paws than looked up. "I'm expecting your kits my love. We now have an official forbidden romance," said Bella.
