I N T R O D U C T I O N
Hello fellow forumers. The name is Dampreed, but you can call me Damp or Tor or any acceptable nickname. This is the home page for two post-apocalyptic bordering Clans known as WhisperClan and FaithClan. This page is the roleplaying page for both WhisperClan and FaithClan. Yes it may seem like a lot to roleplay two Clans all on one page, but we will use headers to separate roleplaying between characters. Something interesting is that we are bringing in daylight warriors like the ones in SkyClan in the books. These are simply cats that live with humans in their houses at night, but during the day they are with the Clan. They can hunt, fight, and even train cadets. Overall, I hope these Clans turn out to be successful and a lot of fun, bringing in a bunch of crazy plots. Let's try to make this one of the forums biggest Clans!

R U L E S & G U I D E L I N E S T O F O L L O W
r u l e I :: Activity - Please be active to best of your abilities. Inform us if any complications come up or if you are going to be inactive for a period of time. This rule is flexible as school, work and other events can occur. The general base line is if you are have not been on the thread for over a month, you will be removed. I would like to keep this Clan up and running for a long time!
r u l e II :: Characters - Please make your characters dynamic and round. This means your character must have depth, grow and change in the course of the role-play. Try to make a character balanced with flaws and strengths and work off that. Some static and flat characters are okay once in a while, but don’t go overboard. Just remember make your character compelling and fair for the role-play. In addition, there are no limits on how many cats you have just make sure it’s a reasonable amount that you can handle.
r u l e III :: Attitude - As stated in the forum rules and I quote: "1. Be courteous – Do not insult, attack or tease, even if it’s just meant as a joke. Comments come across differently written than they do face-to-face, so what is funny to one might sound insulting to another." - Admin. Please keep the drama in the role-play, not during chat. If any member keeps up with a rude, disrespectful remarks, you will be kicked out of this thread and/or reported.
r u l e IV :: Literacy - This is an advanced thread. You must properly capitalize, punctuate, and spell to the best of your abilities and please refrain from posting in the 1st person. There is no minimum amount of sentences required for each post, but we encourage you to expand more on your character’s actions.
r u l e V :: Roleplaying - Due to this being a two-Clan roleplay all rolled into one page, a division between roleplaying is key. You are REQUIRED to include a simple header when roleplay that includes the Clan name of the cat or cats you are roleplaying with. This will help to avoid confusion and keep the page neat and organized.
r u l e VI :: Romance - I will state right away that any and all sexualities are accepted. Anything within the LGBTQ+ community is welcome here. However, all mating and romantic roleplaying but be kept at a PG level. Otherwise we could risk the page getting deleted and possibly offending others.
r u l e VII :: Extras - Kit-stealing is not allowed, same with other types of kit-__ing. Do not plagiarize from this page; you will be reported for those transactions. Obviously, don't make cats with unrealistic pelt colors, eyes colors, or super powers. Along with realism, do not god-mod, power-play, or spot-light your characters. Allow for others to respond and have a chance to properly react to your post. Basically, follow the forum rules and we will get along perfectly fine! If you don't, there will be consequences!

W H I S P E R C L A N & F A I T H C L A N B A C K G R O U N D
FaithClan and WhisperClan's history would not be complete without a retelling of the tale of their beginning. The two had once been one, and that one had been a simple band of traveling cats. They did not call themselves anything particular, simply doing as they needed to survive and moving on, gaining and losing cats along the way. There was no clear destination, just to go where the survival means would be. Cultures and traditions merged, becoming a sort of melting pot within the quickly-growing clutch of felines. Sort of. It became apparent it was more a stew mix than anything else. Cats quickly began to disagree on whether to stay or go, to do this or that, and it was getting harder and harder to keep everyone under control to prevent bloodshed. Two fractions rose from the constant dissent. A cat picked a side or were told to get lost. It was soon after that the cats could no longer live peacefully together as one. Breaking officially into two sides: FaithClan and WhisperClan. It wasn't the best solution, but it was better than remaining as the poisonous constellation they had been. Looking to the stars, both clans were led further apart, separated only by a trench of foul water more fit to be called sludge. In the post-apocalyptic world, dwelling in dilapidated buildings, sewers, and forest, the cats had to learn to fend for themselves. WhisperClan became more battle-oriented, vibrant war paint decorating their furs. FaithClan became more docile, more accepting, their fragile hearts leaving it all to StarClan above while twinkling jewelry adorns their bodies.
It has been moons since the clans separated into two. The first leaders have grown old and died, leaving the new cavalry in their place to deal with the problems they caused. What had been an uneasy alliance has now crumbled into frequent battle, almost a war zone, as feminine and disease lie just in the shadows. While the clans quarrel for territory rights to feed and shelter the desperate cats, cats in camp are plagued by poisoned food and disease. Cats have exhausted both their physical and spiritual strength, reduced to begging from the stars for alleviation. The stars are silent, leaving everything up to the cats themselves to solve. Two clans so different and yet so alike must now decide to perish alone, or try to find a solution. Together. |

R A N K S O F T H E C L A N S
GENERAL :: The leader of the Clan. His or her word is law.
LIEUTENANT :: The second in command to the general, takes orders and passes messages on to the general. Creates patrol parties.
MEDIC :: The doctor of the Clan. Responsible for all of the lives in the Clan, and is trained in herbal knowledge.
COMBATANT :: The cats of the Clan who are trained in specifically combat.
SPY :: The cats who gather information on the other Clan. They can also hunt, though they're mainly used for information.
RUNNER :: The hunters and messengers of the Clan.
GUARD :: The cats who guard camp. They're trained in combat and hunting. They're responsible for marking the borders and guarding the camp from any intruders.
DAYLIGHT SOLDIER :: These cats are Soldiers by day, but live among Twolegplace with their housefolk at night. They are able to hunt, fight, and even train cadets. Some even choose to leave their home and join the Clan completely.
CADET :: The cats in the Clan under training. They will learn the basics from six moons to nine, then the general will decide what sub-soldier rank they will train under.
MOTHER :: Female cats who are pregnant, or are currently nursing. They don't have any responsibility other than keeping their kittens alive and well.
KITTEN :: The youngest felines of the Clan. They're forbidden to leave camp.
RETIREE :: The eldest cats of the Clan. They're paid their dues and are able to relax. They're responsible for bringing dead bodies out to bury.
PRISONER OF WAR :: Prisoners in the respective Clans' camp. They are Soldiers that were captured during the fighting and are used for bargaining terms. They are treated poorly, but not harmed.

T H E C L A N S ' T R A D I T I O N S & C U S T O M S
FAITHCLAN
FaithClan is a Clan where jewelry means something specific. Each piece is based on rank, kinship, mentor-ship, mates, and even virtues. The placement of jewelry is also symbolic. When a kitten reaches the age of six moons and becomes a cadet, he or she is given a woven necklace made by the retirees. Once the cadet has trained under his or her given mentoring soldier, he or she is given a specific rank by the general to continue training under and is given a new mentor based on such. He or she is then given a charm with a color symbolic to each rank.
A charm in the color of green represents combatants. A charm in the color of black represents spies. A charm in the color of yellow represents runners. A charm in the color of red represents guards. A charm in the color of pink represents medics. When a Soldier becomes a Lieutenant, they receive a blue charm, and then receive a silver charm when they become the General. All cadets have a simple, dull white charm.
Jewelry in other places in significant too. A soldier places a woven bracelet around one of their legs for every cadet they have mentored. A General receives another woven necklace with nine metallic charms, each representing his or her nine lives.
WHISPERCLAN
War paint is a specific tactic and tradition used by the WhisperClan cats. Each cat gets a special symbol painted on their body - whether that be a shoulder, forehead, or back leg. Each color signifies the rank [cadet, soldier, lieutenant, general, mother, etc] of that soldier, and the symbols signify what specific soldier they are. A General is only allowed to sport the color red, as it signifies a higher ranking. It's made from top notch red berries that are rare to find in the WhisperClan territory. A star is painted on the right shoulder of the General. The color blue signifies the rank of the Lieutenant. Painted on the left shoulder of this cat is a simple cross. The green paint signifies a Medic or a Medic Cadet - a five point leaf is given to a full Medic while a three point leaf is given to a Cadet.
Made from the very popular purple berries that grow, the soldiers paint is very simple. Each soldier has the color purple. The Combatants get an x on their back right legs, this symbolizes "x'ing out the enemies." A Spy usually keeps hidden, so their symbol is two lines [ | | ] on their right shoulders. Guards often get a series of dots for for their age - a cat at the age of ten moons - a full Guard Cadet, would get a single dog on their forehead. For every ten moons, a guard will receive another dot. Runners are messengers and are the fastest in the Clan, so they get a symbol of wind. It's usually painted on both back legs.
A cadet of one of these soldier ranks get one as well, however their color will be a dark orange color. As Mothers are ordered to protect their kits, they are given pink paint in the sign of three lines on their shoulders with a line dashing through them. Kittens and Retirees are no longer given paint, as they are either too old or too young to fight.

Your mentor until the age of 9 moons will be [Soldier name]. At that time, you will be assigned a mentor specifically for that skill set. I hope [Soldier name] will pass down all he/she knows to you.
General calls up said Soldier to meet new Cadet.
General ; [Soldier name], you are ready to take on a Cadet. You yourself have received excellent training. You've shown yourself to be [quality] and [quality]. I expect you to pass these abilities on to [Cadet name] and teach them the ways of our Clan.
New mentor touches nose of new Cadet, Clan takes up chanting the name of the new Cadet.
CADET BECOMING A CERTAIN RANKED CADET [ 9 MOONS ]
General ; [Cadet name], you have trained under the watchful eye of [Soldier name]. From this day on until you earn your Soldier name, you shall train under [specific rank Soldier] as the rank of [rank].
Soldier comes forward and touches nose with their new Cadet.
General ; [Soldier], you've shown [quality] and [quality] through your time as a [rank] and it's time for your apprentice. Show [Cadet name] the appropriate way to fulfill their new rank. I trust you'll pass your skills down to them.

General ; I, [General name], call upon our Soldier ancestors gazing down at us to look at this Cadet, no longer as one but as a Soldier of [Clan]. [He/She] has learned our code, learned how to protect the Clan and cherish it. I commend him/her to you as a [rank].
General ; Do you, [Cadet name], promise to uphold our Soldier Code and protect our Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Cadet ; I do.
General ; Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your Soldier name. From this day forward, you shall be known as [Soldier name], a [rank] of our Clan. Bring us honor, we are all proud to have you as a full ranking member.

S O L D I E R C O D E
● Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
● Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
● Retirees, mothers, and kittens must be fed before cadets and soldiers. Unless they have permission, cadets may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any soldier or cadet is sick or injured, they may eat while the retirees, mothers, and kittens are eating.
● Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
● A kitten must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
● Newly appointed soldiers will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their soldier name.
● A cat cannot be made lieutenant without having mentored at least one cadet.
● The lieutenant will become Clan general when the general dies, retires or is exiled.
● After the death or retirement of the lieutenant, the new lieutenant must be chosen before moonhigh.
● A Gathering of the clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
● Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
● No soldier can neglect a kitten in pain or danger, even if the kitten is from a different Clan.
● The word of the Clan general is the soldier code. When the general is not present, the word of the cat in charge is code.
● An honorable soldier does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless it is in self-defense, they are ordered to, or are not part of the code
● Kittens must stay in camp until they are apprenticed, and are not allowed to hunt.
● The safety of the Clan is more important than the safety of one cat. E X C E P T I O N S T O T H E C O D E
● Cats may travel on other Clan territories if they have something to report or ask for help.
● The code is flexible about leadership challenges. Cats may challenge a weak or cruel general if their Clan is in danger, and if their leadership threatens the Clan, the code expects a soldier to challenge their general.
● Prisoners of war are not part of the clan. Once a war is won, prisoners must be allowed their freedom regardless of which side won.
● Half-Clan cats are lowered to the status of prisoner during times of war to prevent their mixed heritage from interfering with the war in a biased way. Kittens go with the Clan of their mother until they are cadet age, when they may decide which clan they wish to live in.

T H E C L A N ' S T E R R I T O R I E S The city of Pyre was once elegant, the picture of perfect architecture and order, where many thrived. Now, after being abandoned due to radioactive traces in the sewers, the city has become overgrown with plant life. Over time, many buildings have collapsed, providing shelter for many wildlife. Now, groups of cats who call themselves Clans have taken over the city.
From a young age, many cats get to know the territory like the back of their paw. Several landmarks can help to orient oneself. The Twisted Tree grows up through a break in the ground of FaithClan territory. In the center of the main road through the city of Pyre grows the magnificent oak tree with twisted, snarled branches and roots. The Twisted Tree has sprung up straight through the gravel, tearing the road completely apart in this area. This can be potentially dangerous for Clan cats when walking through this area. Around the Twisted Tree as well in its branches is the prime location for hunting, especially hunting birds. The Moss Tunnel can be found downtown, a place where moss grows abundantly, and can be used to soften and line nests. This tunnel was created by what Twolegs would call an "overpass" which is a bridge-like road going over a road to avoid colliding traffic. The water that leaks into the Moss Tunnel is highly acidic from the acid rain as well as leakage from the sewer system.
The Rat Sewers is a network of sewers that run underneath the city of Pyre. Rotting in the sewers has caused part of it to collapse, blocking the way to FaithClan territory, and making it only accessible by WhisperClan. The Rat Sewers are a prime hunting spot for WhisperClan cats, but the sewers are very dangerous so no cadet is allowed there without being accompanied by a soldier. This is due to the acidic water from acid rain as mentioned before, but also because of the wild creatures that may roam the dark depths. The Vine Post marks the center of WhisperClan territory, an old lamppost with english ivy climbing up it. This landmark holds significance for training young cadets in the flat area surrounding. Combat training is typically done here.
A neutral place for both WhisperClan and FaithClan would be the Old Library. Located on the northern side of downtown Pyre is a massive two-story library, its shelves laden with dusty old books. The Old Library serves as the meeting place for the two Clans every full moon to share current events happening around the city. This place is a neutral zone for a reason so no fighting is allowed. Through a set of doors leading to a back garden lies the only fresh water source in the whole territory. It is a simplistic fountain where the Clan generals and medics share tongues with StarClan and for Clan members to gather water for everyone. The final place in the territory is located just outside the city of Pyre. The Twolegplace is a small "town" filled with a few rows of houses. This is home to Twolegs, kittypets, rogues, loners, and the Clans' daylight warriors that live with their Twolegs.

W H I S P E R C L A N ' S C A M P
WhisperClan's camp is held high up in the sky, on one of the highest floor of an old apartment building. Doors have been ripped from their hinges, letting the cats have easy access in and out of the rooms. Soldiers often have to guard the windows, making sure no kittens manage to get out and fall stories down to their deaths. The general is kept nice and cozy in their own little closet, the General's Nook. No other cats are allowed to sneak their way into this closet unless they're the lieutenant. They're welcome there. The generals have bits of fabric to create a nest. The medics have a very specifically placed den, kept in the bathroom, or in otherwords the Medic Haven. Herbs and of the sort are kept in drawers and cupboards. The medics take refuge in the bathtub. While it's not the most comfortable place, it is the safest. Soldiers sleep in what used to be the kitchen. Each nest is held in the cupboards, nice and dark, though musty. Apprentices and kits share the same room; the living area. Each cat shares a couch, sharing warmth. Soldiers have to protect the windows, and apprentices are given that as one of their dreaded duties.
F A I T H C L A N ' S C A M P
FaithClan's camp is rather old and rustic. Crumbled pieces of the walls are falling, and the camp itself could possibly fall down at any moment. Located on the western side of the territory, FaithClan has taken refuge in an old, collapsed bank. While dens aren't exactly set-in-stone, there are a few general areas. Taking perch on a splintery desk settles the General's Slab. Quite an interesting name, isn't it? There's nothing quite fancy about this, though there is one thing. The general sleeps under the desk, announcing important news from the top of the desk. It has a broken leg and missing some drawers, but most of the desk itself is still in tact, though rotting slowly. In what used to be a meeting room holds the medic's den, or in this case, Medic's Hideout. Still secluded from the rest of the camp, they're quite safe hidden here, and keeping it quiet and calm is fairly important, due to the fact that cats are in and out of here with cuts, bruises, broken limbs. There are chairs- though broken down- forming makeshift nests. Soldiers sleep in The Vault. Here is a very carefully protected room, previously known for its holding of money. Prisoners are also held here, being taunted and beat by the soldiers sleeping there. The cadets, however, don't have any set-in-stone sleeping place. They basically sleep anywhere else they're told to, but they are not, by any means, allowed to sleep in any other den unless they are specifically told by the medic that they're allowed to sleep there. The nursery is attached to the medic's hideout. They're held in another meeting room, this time without windows or doors. The only entrance is from the medic's hideout.

P L O T S & P R O P H E C I E S
Over time, poor relations have caused the status of the two Clans together to be crumbling. They never got along and cats never bothered to apologize or fix their mistakes. In the post-apocalyptic world, disease and famine are rabid in the Clan territories, although the Clans are not willing to work with one another. It is fairly clear that WhisperClan and FaithClan must find a way to work together, or perish. There is a clogged sewage area that runs into both territories and harmful gases, poisoned water, and little food of which is quite disease-riddled is slowly killing both Clans. There is a possibility for the block to be removed, but one sickly Clan can't do it alone. While new, timid WhisperClan leader Monarchstar is willing to put the past aside to work together in its removal, sharper FaithClan leader Mothstar is thinking of nothing but the past and is unwilling to try to stand with WhisperClan. As such, one clan fights against the ever-growing sludge while the other turns away. As desperation rises, both Clans are recruiting daylight soldiers from the nearby Twolegplace- in the hopes of clearing the block, and in preparation for a possible attack from the other Clan.
As both Clans are busy spitting over who is going to help and who won't, the poisoned sewage system makes for a cesspool of a maze of intentions. How easily could one lead a cat down there and kill them, body too washed with untouchable fluid and smells to tell who did it? How do the Clans rule over the daylight soldiers who work for them, who are both Clan and not-Clan? As long as the sewage block exists, poisons of both physical and mental nature will remain prevalent, worsening the already-terrible conditions of the Clans. Now, they must find a solution together, or die.

But she can be capricious and too work-oriented, forgoing friends for sake of fame and keeping busy.

Bindweed - Fastens sticks to broken legs to keep them in place.
Blackberry Leaves - Eases the swelling of bee stings.
Borage Leaves - It produces more and better milk. It also brings down fevers.
Broom - It is used to make poultices for broken legs and wounds.
Catchweed - Stops poultices from being rubbed off without hurting the skin.
Celandine - Soothes damaged eyes.
Chervil - For infected wounds and bellyache, respectively. Can also be used during kitting.
Chickweed - Treats greencough, though catmint is often preferred.
Cob Nuts - Made into ointments.
Cobwebs - To soak up and stop (or slow) the bleeding. It may also be used to bind broken bones.
Coltsfoot - Eases breathing or kitten-cough, as well as cracked or sore pads.

Dandelion - Thought to soothe and heal bee stings. Its leaves can also be chewed to act like a painkiller.
Deathberries - Kills a cat within minutes when consumed.
Devil's Walkingstick - Needle-like stem can be used as puncturing tool.
Dock - Soothes scratches, though can sting when being applied. Soothes sore pads. If placed in nests, it can ease the pain of wounds.
Eel Grass - Used to bind breaks and sprains; used over cobwebs for sturdier bandaging.
Elder Leaves - Soothes sprains.
Feverfew - Reduces body temperature for cats with fever or chills. Also heals aches and pains, especially good for headaches.
Foxglove Seeds - They can easily cause paralysis and heart failure.
Goatweed - Eases anxiety and grief.
Hawkweed - Like catmint but not as strong.
Hawthorn, Groundsel, Buttonbush - Provides good cover for dens/nest; drains soil of water.
Heather Nectar - Makes swallowing easier and sweetens mixtures.
Honey - Soothes infections, is a great remedy for smoke-damaged or sore throats, helps cats swallow other concoctions, helps soothe coughing, and gives energy.
Horsetail - Treats infections and stops bleeding.
Lamb's Ear - Gives a cat strength.
Lovage - If it is mixed with bright-eye, it can help cure coughs.
Mallow Leaves - Soothes bellyache.
Marigold - Stops infection. Stops bleeding. Used for inflammation of stiff joints.
Milkweed - Used like mouse bile.
Mouse Bile - The liquid is stored in moss and dabbed onto ticks embedded in pelt.
Nightshade - To quickly kill a cat who cannot be saved.
Oak Leaf - Stops infection from setting in.
Palm - Binds breaks and sprains; can carry water/other herbs.
Parsley - Stops a queen from producing milk if her kits die, don't need milk anymore, or are producing too much milk. Also used to cure bellyache.
Poppy Seeds - They can help a cat sleep, soothe shock or distress, or ease pain. Not recommended for nursing queens.
Ragwort Leaves - Treats aching joints and keeps a cat's strength up.
Raspberry Leaves - Could possibly ease pain, or stop bleeding.
Rush - Helps hold a broken limb in place, such as casts for Twolegs.
Spanish Moss - Can be used like cobwebs; used as an applicant for poultices; carries water/juices.
Sticks - Cats in pain bite it when other medicine is either unavailable or not recommended. Also used to help broken legs heal.

[ I will most likely post my starters on Monday c:
I need to finish packing for college, then move into college, and unpack everything once again. And I am doing some family stuff between all of that.
I am pretty sure the only time I have available for more than an hour is going to be on Monday after I go to class ~ ]

FaithClan The sun had slowly began to rise, barely peeking over the dull, broken down buildings. Soft rays of sunlight filtered over the abandoned city, slowly shining into the tallest floor of WhisperClan's camp. Bright eyes could be spotted throughout the entire camp, one in particular with a warm body dangling from his jaws. The rabbit seemed to continue kicking while the fairly feminine feline dragged it up the stairs and through the camp.
Slughiss.
The brown tom shook out his fur after he had headed towards the kitchen and set the rabbit down.The large feline settled down in the middle of the kitchen, his ears flicking slightly as his green eyes focused throughout the entire camp. He was debating on going back outside and hunting, but he decided not to. The spotted tabby got to his dainty paws, shaking out his pelt before he trotted off into another room, looking for someone to share company with.
Just as the small tom entered the Solders' den, he spotted a fairly familiar tom. A subconscious purr erupted from his throat as he made his way towards the male, his tail curling in happiness.
"Wonderful morning, isn't it, Lighteninghiss?" the small, muddy brown tom purred, tail straight up as he settled down. "How was your sleep? Peaceful, I hope." |
