Blizzard stopped in her tracks, immediately trying to hear for any Twolegs that might be nearby. Her smile had faded slightly at the thought of those scary humans, with their strange fuzzy heads and pink paws. She shuffled her paws impatiently, wanting to get going. "Are there any?" she whispered back.

Karka spotted Chestnut and she threw a sound in her direction so she could hear her. When she reached her, she had dropped a rabbit and lost it. "I apologize for scaring the prey." she murmured, dropping her rabbits. "I lost one of them a while back. I don't know where it went. Something's probably already got it. Let's get this stuff back to camp and go back out somewhere else. This place will be without prey for a while. Our scent is too strong."
Claude sniffed the air and shrunk back a little. "The pup is outside. With that hideous dog. I think we should wait up here until they go in. It shouldn't be long." he murmured, sitting down and wrapping his brush around him. He smiled at Blizzard. "You're nervous. Don't worry. They are too slow to catch us if we run. The big tod is what I'm worried about. He has loud things that can kill us."

"No worries," Chestnut's reply was muffled by her second rabbit's fur, but her eyes were bewildered as she glanced over her shoulder again to where their prey had disappeared. She picked up the other rabbit and headed back up the slope, waiting at the top for Karka. I hope we aren't going to lose prey, like the dark times. She felt her fur prick along her spine and forced it to lie flat. That era has come and gone. We're under a strong, new leader, plentiful prey. It was just an unlucky morning hunt.

Blizzard winced. "Loud things that can kill us?" she echoed him, her eyes widening with worry. She was suddenly feeling a lot less confident about this plan. She sat down as well, raking the ground beneath her with her claws nervously. She'd never considered dying to be a possibility here. "Will we be able to outrun the loud things too?" she asked him, tilting her head. "Will this be dangerous?"
(Sorry, I have to go now. I should be back tomorrow. Bye!)

Karka smiled and began making her way back to the camp. She stared at the meadow and tried to overpower the strong scent of freshkill in her mouth by shaking her head a little, but she could only smell the rabbits in her mouth. Her paws shuffled as she walked a little, and she found herself unable to walk in a straight line for very long as her mind wandered throughout the territory. She wondered how her brother was doing, but pushed the thoughts out of her mind before she got that into it.
(Okay! Bye.) Claude slowly shook his head. "No, from what I've heard, no fox has ever been able to out run it. Only hide from it. There is a bang, a lot of pain, and then blackness. My mother survived it once before she died in the Dark Times... It bit her in the leg and she was lame on it." he murmured. "I don't think we are in any danger, though. He doesn't do it very often. Once during the morning to scare us off and once during the evening. You can't hear it in many parts of the territory, unless it's still and quiet." he murmured, relaxing and laying his head on his paws. "I think we're safe." he murmured again, peeling his head off of his paws and looking above the hill. "Let's go." he said, picking his way down the hill and towards to large green bins behind the fence.

Chestnut tilted her head, seeing as Karka appeared distracted. "Are you alright?" She mumbled, her prey shifting in her mouth. Missing prey could stump any fox's mood., she reasoned, oblivious to any other reason.

Karka snapped out of her little imagination land thing. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just wondering about things I probably shouldn't.. I didn't live that long during the Dark times foxes are always talking about." she murmured through the fur of rabbit. "I just wonder what it was like sometimes.

OOC: Before I fill out a form, I have two questions. May I make a Healer? Do foxes use the same herbs as cats?

"You're brother hasn't told you?" Chestnut couldn't help the note of surprise escaping her, though she managed to keep both rabbit's scruffs in her jaw. Isn't that his job? If we go on without telling anyone how it happened, they'll be a similar era in the future! "I was very young at the time. But it was awful. Prey was scarce, starving howls echoes throughout the camp. Sickness spread like wildfire, even taking out the healer who served at the time," She shook her head, "I was in my apprenticeship by the time Claude became leader. It was like taking a gulp of air after struggling underwater when prey returned and we were under a stable leadership again. Without your brother, I don't think we would have survived."

(Yes, you may be a healer! And yes they do, but you can also make some up like thyme or something.){It is a real herb, but I just wanted to use it as an example)

Karka shook her head. "It sounds horrible." she murmured. "He never really mentions it. He was extremely close to our father. He left during that time, and he got close to his mother. My mother had long since died. I never really knew her, and his mother raised me. We had the same father though. When she died, he stopped talking about it completely. He doesn't want to go back to the losses the Clan suffered during the time." she said, frowning. "He used to talk about how heroic he was." she smiled and almost laugh, "He was young. He would always brag to me and be a complete mousebrain."

OOC: Thanks!
Fox Name: Rose Age: Three years, one month Gender: Vixen Rank: Healer Screen Name: Amberberry Description: Rose's pelt is a dark russet color. Her eyes, which are blue, always hold a humorous gleam. She may not be as lithe as the other foxes, but she doesn't go around hunting prey all day, so what would you expect? Personality: I personally like this to develop as I go along.

Chestnut held in a bark of laughter, "Don't we all brag at some point?" She blinked and held a more serious gaze, "I can understand why he wouldn't want to say anything...but we can't just not tell the younger generations. " She flicked her bushy tail, "Perhaps apprentice training should include a history lesson on what happened." She suggested, half to herself.

@yellowberry Thank you, and welcome to the Clan! I think the forming personality thing is really good! It's an idea I've had but never had the gumption to do. Feel free to jump in whenever.
@ivorysprinkles
"I don't know. I'm sure he talks about it to Blizzard and others. He just doesn't like talking to me about it. I've heard him talking in his sleep about it, when I can't sleep and go to say goodnight to him. He's a weird little fox." she murmured, joking. She smiled and began trotting, the camp soon coming into view. Her ears flicked back and she ducked into the entrance, even though she didn't really need to.

Chestnut shouldered in after her, flattening her broad ears. I can't imagine having so many lives relying on me like Claude. I wonder if he ever gets to talk about it to anyone, if not his own little sister. She approached the fresh-kill pile and lowered down her two rabbits, "It already looks less pitiful." She commented, leaning down to lick a stray gift of fur on her chest. "And Claude and Blizzard aren't back yet either."

"I expect they went to the two-leg place. Claude finds any excuse to go there." she joked, nodding in agreement. "What should we do now? I mean, if the prey pile has prey in it, I think we've very well done our duties and may move on to something else." she said, at a loss for things to do. Her ears perked forward in curiosity and awaited Chestnut's reply.

OOC: Sorry I took awhile. I was reading through the roleplay.
IC: Rose rushed about her small hollow under the roots of an oak tree. It had been smaller before Claude became leader, and she'd done some spring cleaning. The healer had also dogged out more room for herbs and sick foxes. Rose counted the individual herbs in her stock. I'm going to need some poppy seeds and juniper berries by the time the half moon has come! Rose thought. At least it was now early Newleaf. In this season of plenty, it is always easier to hunt both food and herbs. She exits the camp, heading for the largest juniper bush in the territory.

"We could go on a patrol to check the territory's boundaries," Chestnut sat down for a moment, curling her tail loosely over her paws, "And check out where the prey has now gathered for future hunts."
(I've gotta go, it's getting late where I live. I'll be back tomorrow!)

(Good news, I get my phone back soon, and I'll be able to see notifications much easier. I'll be faster in replying and updating things.)(Oh, and part of the plot will be revealed after I post this. I also updated some history, so you may want to see that. It may be important, might not. Just sayin, ;))
Karka smiled softly. "Okay. Until then, my paws are killing me and I need to sit for a while." she said, heading to a comfy spot out in the warm sun to lay down and soak up the warm rays for a while. She closed her eyes in relaxation and smiled, her ears twitching occasionally as bugs tried to land on them.

(That's great! Ooh, and I can't wait to see...)
Chestnut watched her lay down and flicked her tail. "Perhaps they'll be back soon." She muttered, gazing up into the sky. I hope we don't have any new threats in the around the borders. Perhaps it's okay to rest.

"Perhaps. Or they'll wait till sundown to return, knowing my brother." she murmured, opening her eyes. "Where did Rose go? Maybe we should find her, and help her, with what ever she's doing. Not that she needs it, I'm just bored and need something to do..."

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Chestnut agreed, stretching out a hind leg, "I can't imagine how lonely it must be as the only healer." She cast a glance at Karka,"Is she still in camp, anyways?"

Karka shrugged. "I'll check," she yipped, getting up and going towards the Healers den. "No, she isn't here," she called from inside the den, "But it smells wonderful in here! I could drink this scent all day if I needed to!"

Blizzard hesitated, before rising to her paws and following behind Claude, glancing around with worry before shaking her head to clear her thoughts. If the Twoleg does try to get us with the loud thing, we can hide, she told herself silently. She nearly lost her footing and half-skidded down the hill, but quickly regained her balance. She felt her excitement returning quickly as she gazed at the green trash cans. "Is that the trash?" she asked him, wide-eyed.

Claude smiled. "Yes, those are the trash cans. They're easy to open, watch this," he chirped, getting his nose under one of the grooves and lifting the lid. He then hopped on top of the other trash can and sifted around in the green bin.

"Come up here and see, I've found two cupcake wrappers!" He yipped happily. He was acting like a pup with excitement. He honestly didn't care either, it was good for the Clan to see the childish side of him so they knew he had one.

Blizzard smiled, and jumped up onto the bin next to him, nearly falling straight off again in her enthusiasm. She peered into the open bin, shuffling her paws happily. A bunch of scents hit her nose, some quite delicious-smelling, others rotting and unpleasant. "What's a cupcake wrapper?" she asked him.

"This," he said in a muffled tone as he pulled out a little cupcake wrapper and gave it to his apprentice. "It tastes amazing, just don't eat it." He said. Rummaging around a little more. He found an empty McDonalds fry thingy and began licking the salt off of it. "Strange humans." He muttered. "Throwing all of this valuable stuff out."

She gave the cupcake wrapper a cautious sniff, before beginning to lick the crumbs off. She gasped, her eyes widening in wonder. "Woah! This is delicious!" she yipped happily. "Why would anybody ever throw this away?"
