Thistlestar waved her tail to Icepool. "Let's hunt the two of us," she said. Her voice was strained and small.
Fish throat pricked his ears forwards. "Icepool! Should Featherstep and I make sure the kits know what to do if they're... attacked? I don't want to scare them, but Thistlestar said..." He glanced over at Featherstep.

Featherstep glanced uneasily at Icepool. She turned and was about to speak, when she noticed sounds coming from the nursery. "...Ah, looks like Ashkit's already awake." She sighed, looking now into the nursery.

"Alright Thistlestar!" He called before turning back to Fishthroat. "That would be a good idea I think; it is what Thistlestar said to do." He said, before rushing off to where Thistlestar was standing.
Lizardpaw looked over at Berrypaw and wondered over. "So, how's it going?" He asked.

"Would you like to come with me and Icepool? We can help you forage while we hunt," she suggested. FIshthroat trotted up to Featherstep. He gave her a soft gaze. "Let's make sure they'll be alright," he said. "They have claws. They should at least be able to use them." |

"Right.." Featherstep nodded. She turned to the nursery and slowly padded in. "Hello there Ashkit, I see you're finally awake." She said with a weak smile. Ashkit turned and stood, stretching out. "...Mornin'" He mumbled, looking up at Featherstep and Fishthroat. "What's up?"

Ashkit looked at Fishthroat blankly for a moment before his eyes widened. "...WHAT? Really?" He asked, glancing at Raykit who was still asleep. "You've gotta be joking..." He mumbled, face turning to a more concerned expression. Featherstep shook her head. "N-no it's true, Ashkit. Wake up your brother and we'll explain it to you."
Ashkit pulled on Raykit's shoulder and shook him a bit, just enough to get him to open his eyes. "...Hmm? Oh g'morning Ashkit, what's going on?" Raykit mumbled sleepily. "Fishthroat says we're gonna be apprentices early." "...w-..REALLY?!" Raykit jumped up, and right over to Fishthroat. "Are you serious?!" He asked, looking up to the tom with wide, excited eyes.

Fishthroat laughed. "Woah there, I said you were gonna start your training early not that you were gonna become apprentices!" he playfully batted at Raykit before sobering and glancing at Featherstep. "Look kits, you know... you're training to be warriors. When you grow up... you're gong to hunt and fight and all of that. But see, about now..." he was tripping over his words. "Just-- you don't need to be scared or anything, but BoneClan is being sort of... sort of mean. So we just want to make sure that if any bad guys come in here, you know what to do." He held his breath, worried the kits were about to break down.

"Awww!" Raykit hung his head. "Why would BoneClan come here? Don't they have their own territory?" Ashkit asked, looking up at Featherstep and Fishthroat. "Ah, w-well... Our clans have come to a bit of a disagreement, so... We just want to be safe in case they try anything bad, y'know?" Featherstep slowly explained with a weak smile. Ashkit frowned. "That sounds really weird.." He mumbled, sitting back down.

Icepool nodded, "That's a good idea." He sat down, greeting Lizardpaw as he walked by. "Shouldn't you be with your mentor?"
Lizardpaw sighed. "Yeah I guess." He trotted off to the entrance of the camp, waiting for his mentor.

Fishthroat smiled at the kits. "Okay, let's just get started. Pretend that I'm a BoneClan warrior." he stiffened his limbs and lumbered about, tucked in his chin and made a comical snarl. "What do you do if you see me outside your den?"
Thistlestar nodded to Lizardpaw as he wandered off. "Berrypaw, Ice pool, let's go. We're wasting the dawn." she slipped down the northern slope of the camp and hopped across a row of stepping stones that bridged the stream.

Fishthroat bopped Raykit on the nose with his tail. "No! You'll be doing the attacking soon enough. For now, if you see any unfriendly cats outside, you stay quiet and stay hidden. Stay in the back of your den, don't make a sound. Ok?"
Thistlestar brushed through the ferns on the other side of the bank. "Let's head towards the Cave," she said, picked up the pace, mouth parted to scent any prey.

Thistlestar started up into a lope, pensive. her mind crackled with worry. Even the gentle sighing of the wind through the underbrush did nothing to ease her worries.

Icepool watched as his leader dashed ahead of him. He sighed, knowing he would he would to begin to run in order to keep up. He started slowly, before matching the speed of his leader, following a few paces behind; still trying to to listen for prey.

Fish throat grinned. "NO! If a cat comes into your den, you freeze and hope you stay hidden. But if they touch you, or bite you, then... you can claw their ears off." He stared hard at the kits. "Now, who wants to learn how?"
Arriving at the moods cave, Thistlestar could her the skittering of lizards over the rocks. Tough meat, but easy enough to catch. She waved her tail, indicating to fan out around the mossy entrance.

Icepool moved quickly and quietly to get in the ideal position to hunt. He tried to stay focused; though he found his thoughts wandering as soon as he was still. The realization of the imminent war was heavy in his mind.

Thistlestar scented a mouse, it's sweat perfume to her hungry nose. She sunk into a crouch and began creeping forward, sliding on velvet paws and barely making divots in the moss.

"YEAH!!" Raykit jumped up once again. Ashkit flattened his ears, a bit puzzled by Raykit's quickly shifting mood. He glanced at Featherstep, who was smiling at Raykit, clearly entertained by him. He looked back up at Fishthroat, shifting about nervously.
