Tigerstorm was walking down the sidewalk, wondering what to expect. The houses here seemed just as nice as his, just they're a lot better. Though one house caught his attention. There were some rocks lying about. He then remembered what Thornspark had told him about the she-cat who threw rocks at the cat named Amberdawn. So this must be her house... Might as well go say hi or something... Tigerstorm cautiously walked up to the door, his tail swaying behind him. He remembered he needed to make some friends, so might as well try. He took in a breath and knocked on the door, hoping for a reply.

(Ahhh sorry for the late replies. Do you want to assume Thorn finished telling the story and left? That what I'm going with.)
Amberdawn was lying on her couch reading on of the three novels she kept in the house, when she heard a slight knocking from her door. Slowly rising to her paws, the she-cat grabbed her trusty knife and made her way over to the door. After peeking through the window and seeing it wasn't Lilacsong, she relaxed and opened the door. "Hello, can I help you?"

I'm new here and I was suggested to meet the neighbors and such... I've met Thornspark already and this really strange cat... not the kindest cat though." The tom stopped and cleared his throat a bit, feeling a bit nervous as he went on. "I'm uh... sorry if i'm bothering you or anything..."

In fact, why don't you come in, I always feel odd talking to someone in a doorway," she ranted. The last part was all made up, she was really worried about Lilacsong coming in without her permission...

Well... it's better than being outside I guess, so why not."Oh, sure I guess." Tigerstorm slowly nods and cautiously enters the house, though letting her lead on. "I'm Tigerstorm by the way..." He introduced with a soft smile.

Getting up from her seat, the ginger she-cat ran to her bedroom and grabbed a fistful of papers entitled Shadow of the Moon. "Here you go," she explained, handing over the story to the tom. (If you actually want to read something I have the Prologue of my novel on my phone. Lol.)

(Alright here it is~ there is a slight gore warning but I'll make sure to give you proper warning if you want to skip it. It's also really old, like two years old because I've been mainly working on world building and characters....)
Rain beat down on the water-worn dock of old, rotten boards, creating a desperate rhythm. The wind, seeming to whistle along, added to the ominous song. Far off in the distance a small shadow emerged from the tropical tree line, running fast as a dart. Filled with caution, the shadow slowly drew closer, hiding behind every fallen tree, or rock that littered the ground. Lightning crackled above as the storm picked up, coating the ground below in golden light. At the tree line a gigantic palm tree splintered apart, finally giving way to the powerful gusts. The shadow, now fully illuminated, reached the boards of the old dock. It was a young girl around the age of seven, her golden hair streaming behind her. Silver tears streaked the sides of her pale face. Then the light faded, sending the world back into inky darkness. A massive trading ship swayed in the rapid waves next to the dock. Quickly, the shadowed girl crawled up the side of the ship, and onto the deck. The ship was scattered with crates, packed to the top with market goods from the island. To the left a tremendous tower of supplies created the perfect corner to shelter from the girl’s pursuers. Darting forward the girl dived under the stack and crawled into the farthest corner, pulling the crates closer together to obscure the entrance. Then the soldiers came. Holding flickering torches in one hand, swords in the other, they penetrated the eerie calmness of the storm’s song. They scanned the beach in search of something, their hostile eyes landing on the merchant vessel. The girl, who’d been watching through the small slit of the entrance, now retreated back into the darkness. He was there. Riding upon a muscular ebony stallion, commanding his lower ranking soldiers with full authority. He was hunting the girl, now silent deep within the crates. The soldiers marched forward, approaching the ragged dock with growing speed. The boat groaned in reply, tilting forward under the violent waves thrashing at it’s sides. With a flick of his hands the rider summoned forward six soldiers as they drew close to the ship, and whispered orders to them. Then the group approached the vessel, steel armor reflecting the remaining light of the torches. The girl huddled deeper until her back hit the farthest box, her calloused hands shaking with fear. The soldiers had reached the boat, and were hastily climbing onto the deck. Another flash of lightning danced across the jet black clouds. The first soldier made it to the top, her scarlet hair tied it a tight bun. Her torch blazed, reflecting into the soldier’s cold blue eyes. She silently drew her sword. She was soon followed by the other five, a young blonde girl, two brown haired males, and a black-haired woman who held a small flame in her palm- a pyromancer. Still and silent, the child held her breath, praying they wouldn’t find her. The soldiers split up. Two went below deck, two went to the starboard side, and two approached the girl’s hiding place. The girl with scarlet hair was the first to reach the crates, followed by a scrawny boy. The boy had unkempt dark brown hair. His eyes gleamed with an unusual amber color, and his skin was a bit too dark for a Daryian. When they’d reached the crates, the green-eyed girl squeezed her right arm through the crevice into the pile, and felt around. Her hand landed inches away from the hidden girl. The runaway child clamped her eyes shut and focused on holding her breath. She was slowly running out of air. She heard the hand graze the crate next to her. The girl sent up a silent prayer. Soon she would be discovered, and then….. punished. Suddenly, the soldiers from below-deck arose hauling out a seventeen year-old girl. The woman’s hair was as dark as the night sky and was tied up into a tight braid. Her emerald eyes were filled with fright, and fresh tears striped her angular face. But the most startling thing about the girl was a single black tattoo on her left shoulder. A jet black viper curled around her arm, it’s mouth wide open, exposing deadly fangs. Its eyes burned a menacing amber color. The venomous reptile poised ready to strike out at a large island. Darya. The girl bore the symbol of resistance. The six soldiers slowly approached the rebel, eyes gleaming with contempt. (Gore warning!!!!!) The scarlet hair one addressed the girl, her voice mocking, words too quiet to make out. Then she pointed her sword at the girl, a wicked smile creeping up her face. In one swift movement the soldier severed the girl’s left arm. Loudly, the girl’s scream rang out, filling the hide-away child’s ears with agony. Fresh scarlet blood splattered against the red-haired soldier, her mouth unleashing a terrifying laugh. The next thing to go was her right leg, the limp appendage landing on the cold boards with a sickening thump. The blood slowly seeped down through the crevices. The girl closed her hazel eyes after that, keeping them shut until the woman’s screams had ceased. When she opened them again, a pool of russet blood had surrounded the dismembered body. A horrified gasp escaped from the child’s mouth, but the soldiers were to busy laughing at the kill to notice.(End of gore warning) The only one who didn’t seem to enjoy the experience was the boy from before. He stood off to the side, as if in silent grief. After a while, the soldiers left the ship, leaving the body to rot. The storm calmed, and the starry sky peeked out from the clouds. When the moon reached its highest point the boy came back. He crouched over the bloody mess and pulled out a small green book with golden bindings. His eyes flooded with tears as he read quietly, running his hands over her face and shutting her eyes. Then he closed the book and looked straight at the girl’s hiding place. A peaceful smile grew on his face, and he gave a tiny wave as he descended the boat. When morning struck merchant ship’s owners arrived and the body was moved. The dead girl was simply lifted up, and carelessly thrown into the dirty water along with the disconnected limbs. Then they set off to sea. The wind picked up, sending them away from the island a quick as a falcon dived. It wasn’t until the island was out of sight that the girl relaxed. She was free from that horrible place, and she was never going back.
